Blue Lagoon Fish & Chips (Dumbarton Road) in Glasgow City

Only had Chips and Cheese but they were excellent. Service was lovely and the food was outstanding.

delivery guy too busy talking in his phone whilst looking for our address, walked up and down street aimlessly, husband had to get his attention by calling him out the window, eventually delivery saw him and slowly walked to our home whilst still on his phone, customer should come first your drivers some of them are a disgrace

I received a text informing me my order was ready before the initial collection time, but I was already on my way there.

Order was missing fish, when I phoned they asked me what they can do?

says 20-35 minutes delivery but was almost 2 hours. said the courier at the restaurant the whole time, which can't have been true. Just wanted to charge me if I cancelled. lost a loyal customer because of dishonesty

Known throughout Glasgow, but rotten fried food they are all part of a franchise. I have gave this chippy another chance last week Feb 2025, I ordered three suppers costing over £21.00, it was the same old story as before. The only good thing about the food was that it was hot. The most important point was that all the meals were extremely greasy, the food tasted bad due to the fact that it had been fried in old oil which should have been changed long before then but sadly the shop owner has let his customers down by cutting corners to save money, cooking oil only has a certain life and requires to be changed at regular intervals. The food tasted rotten as a result and all three suppers went straight into the bin. I would totally avoid this place and go to another chippy if you value your taste buds(There is a very good one in Kent Rd Finniston) .

I asked for the fish supper to have lots of brown sauce, not the sausage supper and you put sauce on both of them.

Placed an order for delivery for 3 suppers. Delivery arrived late and only had 2 suppers. I called the shop and guy that answered tried to blame the delivery driver. He didn't seem interested at all and told me to request a refund and replace the order. It's nearly 9pm and I also don't have an unlimited bank balance waiting on refunds and being further out of pocket in the meantime.

Pizza crunch absolutely soaked in oil not fresh as requested. chips reheats not fresh. Totally unacceptable food to deliver to any customer.

Ordered fish x2 and chips and potato fritters x4 and a portion of curry sauce all packed into the one container looked like something the dog wouldn’t have eaten and the curry sauce I’m still waiting on absolutely awful won’t be ordering again

I absolutely love Blue Lagoon, never had a bad meal in their restaurant. However, delivery not so good. Food cold, waited over an hour, and missing chips also.

went to collect 30 mins after order was placed (and at the advised collection time) and not one part of the order was ready.

The opening hours are not correct, the staff are very rude, would avoid if you can

the fritters had to be binned as they were put in with the fish and the person who was having the fritters is alergic to fish, they have always been put in different containers, why not tonight?

The chips tasted bitter. They were black around the edges but quite hard to bite into. Won’t be buying from here again.

ordered food and was missing a supper so phone and get told to pick it up my self so everything else would be cold and i had paid for delivery and person I spoke to said they had put it in when the niver as I didn't receive it and wouldn't be phoning if it was there

Food was delivered 2mins early lol really tasty, hot and fresh, only tiny thing is you need better sealed boxes for chips n gravy, it leaked!!

Ordered large fish and chips, looked good on the warmer, unfortunately and to my dismay it was inedible the fish batter was soggy and tasted stale , the chips were soggy and really tasted bad. I paid £10-05p for a dinner that was not eaten and ended up in the bin, l phoned and complained and was offered a replacement made fresh next time l ordered , there is no chance of that l will avoid them as l hope others will do the same

Simply the worst fish and chips I ever ordered, smelled awful and the chips were chewy. I just threw everything in the bin.

I just wanna know how often the frying oil is changed! The whole chain and the food served from there are full of awful smell like it gonna be rotten…Never try it again. I am about to puke and I will definitely throw away the rest of what I got

Food was stinkin. Ordered curry cheese chips and got cold chips with a load of unmelted, luminous orange grated cheese on them. No salt or vinegar on anything. Didn’t finish it at all

They cannot read! sent 2 chips, cheese & curry instead of 1. Should have been 2 chips, cheese & gravy. My son had no food because of this. It is not the first time this has happened and a shame the only time they get it right is when you collect food yourself and check it before you leave

Probably the worst chips and cheese I have ever had in over 40 years. The chips I bought at around 7pm for just less than £4 tasted like re-heats... The day before chips.... Not crisp, just chewy..... The cheese was like grated plastic cheese with no flavour at all. I asked for ketchup.... It was like a watered down vinegar mess. I would love to know how often this "chain" changes their cooking oil and what oil they use. I don't even think the Partick Seagulls would eat this muck. Avoid!

And the pickles where put in with the food not separate blue lagoon are very lucky that person wasn't allergic every other takeaway service I've used the pickles are in a separate bag!! Just half ate a rotten fish supper, working since 8am lunch after 3pm but despite owner chat the worst chips and horrible guey batter both reheats and the fish was NOT Haddock but Whiting! Disgusting, if I wasn't at I taken it back! Avoid

The chips were hot and well cooked and tasted nice, but the fish texture was strange and mushy,and had a very weird smell & the batter was quite solid, clumpy and I just couldnt eat it!

Staying in hotel west end, craving fish and chips, curry sauce dip.... it arrived on time, piping hot, absolutely delicious, and well worth the money, cheaper than fancier chip shops near by, but tastier than any of them, got a few more work days left in hotel, this will be my to go place now, thanks guys, delicious.... Only thing is if I knew curry sauce would be that small I'd have ordered 2 or larger, maybe put different sizes and prices on so people know, but I'm blown away, didn't expect to be so good.... cxxx....
