Lovely Sunday lunch, good prices and very friendly staff. We have been quite a few times and it is always nice. Try it if you can you won't be disappointed.

Just visited for sunday lunch,exeptional as always,food is first class,staff are polite and friendly,service is super fast,dog friendly to,highly reccomend this place,prices are very reasonable.

We visited on a Saturday tea time after our boy had been at the aqua park just down the road, booked a table and were greeted with open arms. Food was absolutely delicious and all home made. Sonya was amazing, very tentative and ensured we had everything we needed. Had a lovely chat with her about holidays too! Great prices, 5* food and amazing hosts. Ignore the negative reviews about it being for local people only! We’d never visited as we live in Boro and we couldn’t believe the service and welcome we got. Not like anything you’d get anywhere near where we live! We will definitely be making our way back soon!

Brought my mother here as a treat for her 83rd birthday, we were born at nearby Stillington. It was marvellous seeing her enjoy being back in the North East Well worth the journey from Scotland.

Went to the Blue Bell for lunch today hadn't booked a table but Sonia fitted us in we go twice a year as I put flowers on my Mother's grave and every time we visit we are never disappointed the Sunday Lunch is lovely very tasty fantastic gravy and the hospitality is outstanding. I’m actually not sure how to best describe my/our experience at this pub . I think “ False “ is probably the best description. We read previous reviews about the quality of the food and the friendliness of the landlords -Kev and Sonya . I’m quite sure a lot of the reviews printed are by the locals in the village itself. Take my word for it, this is neither a friendly pub and the locals are anything but sociable, similar to the landlords. Faces like thunder with little village attitudes. Try the pub in Carlton , click as well but far friendlier.

Went for Sunday lunch today was absolutely beautiful all the veg was so fresh massive Yorkshire pudding and a really friendly atmosphere would highly recommend this lovely place

Visited for Sunday lunch with 9 of us friends. Staff were amazing services, excellent communication with us especially we all are Deaf. Sunday lunch - very good food. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Came here with some family, including two kids 10 and 12, and all had a great night. Staff were really friendly and the food and drink were all really good and great value.

Family of 6 just been for an evening meal to celebrate a birthday. Greeted with a lovely warm welcome from the landlady who was really nice. Between us we ordered the Parmesan, blue bell burger, scampi, the pie of the day and fish goujons. Everything was amazing, cooked well, good portions and reasonably priced. Pub has a nice warm coal fire going and a great atmosphere. We will definitely return and recommend this place.

Tonight we went to the blue bell as a family of four and had a wonderful evening. We ordered two chicken Parmos, a mushroom stroganoff and a chicken & bacon pasta and all meals were to die for! For dessert we shared a cheese board and a chocolate fudge cake which was equally as brilliant as the mains. I would recommend the blue bell to anyone and I’d like to give a big shout out to Sonia and Kevin for making the experience. Both of them were lovely and made you feel extremely welcome which added to the whole experience.

This is the epitome of a village pub with Kev & Sonia at the helm, not to mention Richard cooking. This pub has had some good landlords, over the years, but these tw hosts, are the best for many, many years. If you value the quintessential english pub, this is nirvana

This is the epitome of a proper village pub, unlike the the pub in our village. Even before lockdown everyone was made to feel welcome to come and have a nice drink and a good old chat along with real pub grub and since then Kevin and Sonia have got it spot on. We can all feel comfortable with enough space between us to be able to enjoy a drink or a meal without being too close to each other. Love it!

First meal out since lockdown. So delicious. Highly recommended. Didn't leave anything. Everything done to keep social distance. Well done.

Very friendly local pub providing an excellent choice of Sunday roasts with fresh range of vegetables and enormous Yorkshire puddings. Weekdays have a reasonable selection across the board.

Had a takeaway Sunday lunch which was amazing! Lamb was superb and the pub catered for my fiancé who has special dietary requirements no probs. Can’t wait for next Sunday!

Today we had a take away Sunday lunch from the Blue Bell Inn. There was a choice of every meat, we chose pork and beef and neither of us were disappointed. The meat was tasty, moist and there was plenty of it. The lunch was just like a homemade roast dinner with huge home made Yorkshire puddings and four vegetables - perfectly cooked. Finished off with delicious sticky toffee pudding and custard, one of 4 desserts to choose from.We will definitely partake in the Sunday lunch again and can’t wait to visit for a meal when lockdown is over.

Called here last Sunday for lunch. As it is a fair distance from home I have not visited for approximately 40 years. Even that far back it had a good reputation as a place to go to eat. Since that time it has obviously changed hands but was very pleased to find that it remains a friendly and inviting place to go.for a meal. I enjoyed a two course lunch of lovely home cooked food and had to ask if they had made a mistake when I went to pay my bill as I thought it was too cheap!! It is so nice to find such a welcoming place to go for such good fayre. Will not hesitate to return soon.

We always receive such a warm welcome at the Blue Bell which is our preferred local pub. There's a good range of beers/drinks and a traditional pub grub menu that offers a great choice and is very reasonably priced. The service is first class too. Atmosphere is friendly and kids and dogs are welcome. A reliable pub if you want a good pint and fulfilling meal.

Bought a Groupon for Sunday lunch and went today. Nice warm cosy pub, with open fire. Lovely friendly staff, very welcoming. The Groupon deal made this a very good price - however we were offered a larger portion for an extra £2 each which we took. The food was hot, there was a good size portion for the additional price, extra gravy provided, lovely crispy Yorkshire, fresh veg - homely cooking.

Used a groupon for 2 parmo’s here last night. You get a really pleasant welcome from behind the bar and waiting staff and service is lovely. The portions aren’t huge but we just about managed to finish them - I particularly enjoyed mine with extra spicy toppings (small extra charge) but the other one could have benefitted with a little more sauce. Chips were lovely and plenty of them. A relaxing and enjoyable time had by us on a Friday night after a busy week in this pub.

We arrived here on a cold February night to be greeted by a lovely real fire and a friendly lady. The bar was warm as was the restaurant. The food was very good and very reasonably priced, pie off the specials board was lovely, with good chunky chips. We had Apple and Peach crumble with custard for desert, large bowl, a snip at £3.45. Drinks are also at reasonable prices. Overall a nice country pub doing good "pub type" meals. Would be happy to go back and eat there again soon.

We used our Groupon Voucher about 2 weeks ago, and was surprised to find it really busy. We had a starter and a main which were both very nice and excellent value. The Game pie of partridge, chicken and leek was delicious. I rang to check out the menu and the Landlord sent it by email straight away. The Landlady was very friendly and even though she was really busy she made time to tell us about their local sourced food and how much she enjoyed her work and chatting with customers! Will certainly go back again and I would recommend it for anyone looking for good wholesome food with great portions and nothing was too much trouble!

Apart from Sundays there are no early eating sessions but they do 5pm meals Thursday -Saturday. We had a Groupon voucher for two meals which we used tonight. The menu selection is quite good and we ordered two different dishes. Quality of food was good,quantity very good and service excellent. It is off our normal routes so unlikely to return in near future. The address shown above is incorrect as it is on the High Street of Bishopton Village,which is just outside Stockton on Tees.

The exterior could do with a bit of updating but don’t let this put you off as inside is lovely (old beams, country pub feel). We had booked a table for groupon Sunday lunch at 3pm but arrived super early. Not a problem- the lovely lady who served us cleaned a table and got us seated straight away. Food was homemade (including Yorkies- yum) and delicious. Great choice for Sunday lunch (chicken, lamb, pork, beef) Service was spot on and quick. Would definitely return. It was packed with locals so this created a nice atmosphere. It also has a very family pub feel which meant staff were really accommodating and friendly.

Just back from tea at Bluebell on a Groupon Voucher, lovely food ( had Pheasant and wine pie with home made chips and peas Hubby had Parmo,) could`nt fault friendly quick service and will be back soon. Well worth a visit and will be trying Sunday lunch asap...

My family and I visited today as part of a Sunday lunch Groupon deal and can honestly say this was the worst Sunday lunch we have ever had. That said the service was first class and staff were all warm and friendly.

This is definitely somewhere that you need to stop, on your way into Yarm. The place is bigger than you think and although I've never eaten in here, I've sank many a drink. Lovely atmosphere and great little place.

We had Sunday lunch - it was beautifully cooked. My roast lamb was tender and a small portion is more than enough for me, and my partner's roast pork was equally tender. Pudding - apple crumble with berries and custard - was perfect, not too sweet and the crumble was nice and crunchy. Pleasant service, nice environment and a pretty village - I'll go again.

This pub is only around 20 minutes from my house but as its out in the stix a bit you really have to drive, plus it being a country village pub I thought it might be a little expensive.

After living in the village for over 4 years we have seen a few landlords come and go over our time. The current couple, Sonia and Kev are performing miracles. The place has taken off since they arrived. Always trying to please the customers no matter how grumpy we can be. The food side is excellent complimented by excellent service. I would recommend the first Monday of the Month special night. A choice of three mains and a sweet for £14ish. If you can get booked in because numbers are limited. Book early.

We haven't been to the Blue Bell for a while now so on the spur of the moment we went for Sunday lunch. Lunch was lovely, not 'a la carte' just a good honest Sunday lunch. The service as ever was first class, nothing is too much trouble. If you can't be bothered cooking try it, I don't think you would be disappointed. By the way I had a pint of Dunbar and it was gorgeous, that's a good enough reason to call in on its own.

I was in the barbers in Darlington when a gentleman was getting his haircut when the blue bell pub was mentioned and a Sunday lunch he was saying it was very good so me and the wife decided to go and we weren't disappointed the roast dinner was lovely and when it was mentioned that jam roly pudding was on the desert menu I just had to have one it was lovely we will be going back

Visited The Blue Bell Bishopton for Sunday lunch. Very tasty lamb and homemade mint sauce, with a nice selection of vegetables. Followed by desert all for £9.95. Really friendly helpful staff. Would certainly visit again.

Muy decepcionado con el tamaño de la parmasan, no soy un gran comensal pero el especialmente parmasans parecen estar más pequeñas con cada visita. No había mucha variedad en el menú de dos por uno, no creo que volveré.

Not many years ago the Bluebell was one of the busiest country pubs on Teesside, with a good "early doors" crowd and full to the gunnels on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but it has been through a number of landlords / managers over the last 5 years and it has slowly emptied, with only a handful of regulars now drinking there. Staff are friendly and at least 1 handpull beer on, but the atmosphere isn't the same.

We took my elderly mum out for her birthday for dinner. The food was amazing and a real surprise. Although a little more expensive than your average pub-grub it was well worth it. I had chicken stuffed with stilton which was cooked to perfection. Really good-sized portions, both starters and mains. My other half had a steak which he said was one of the best he'd had. The service was friendly. We turned up on live music night which was fun (the music started at 9.30 so we had enough time to eat and chat before a singalong). 9/10 for the food and service. A really nice place with a local pub feel and excellent food. 10/10 :-)

Excellent Sunday lunch with great service and huge portions. Prices were reasonable and although there was no vegetarian option for my daughter, the pub accommodated her with massive helpings of cheesy leeks and cauliflower, which she was more than happy with. They have only just started to serve food so it is something of a 'work in progress' and we were assured that they would make sure vegetarian choices would be put on the menu ASAP. Lovely, warm and welcoming staff. We will definitely be back.

the new tennants have really give the place a zing of life the pub is refreshing as are all the staff even though they have only been in a few weeks they have allready made a positive mark here would reccomend the pub for anyone who wants a great meeting place and will look forward to the food once they have reached what they are happy with

New management in June 2014 have restored this pub to glory. There are 2 Real Cask Ales, great draughts, a whole host of bottled beers, ciders and IPAs, and an excellent NEW wine list. They have new outdoor benches and pavement barriers to create a lovely place to catch the all-day sun. Bishopton is a lovely tiny village which should be on your list of stops when in the area. And by the end of July 2014 will be the new place to eat pub grub in the area.
