It's ok but I would not go back

Just had sunday dinner there for my wifes birthday with my parents. The food was superb. And mikaela (hope i spelt it right🤣) who works there is brilliant. Amazing service and would highly recommend

Absolutely amazing service and great food. Highly recommend to visit as they also provide live music Friday and Saturday.

Over rated is the only words for this place. Food ok, had to cover it in salt to get any flavour. Like a bland school dinner is how l would describe the food. Only good thing about the food was that it was better than the service. Give it a miss

I absolutely love this place, the food tastes like it's made by someone who actually cares about food and the menu shows that they definitely know what they're doing. I go here on special occasions with my family because it's so nice. Also, we went today around 7 and our server was brilliant, 10/10 service, really lovely, super professional, made our stay really welcoming and nice. Thanks to everyone at the bluebell for running such a great pub ❤️

We had my grandma's wake here and we were very impressed with the staff, room and food. The food options were fantastic & plentiful. The vegetarian/ vegan options in particular were brilliant. Would highly recommend.

Just stopped in for a quick drink on a warm sunny day..lovely little beer garden (with a helicopter in it) and the staff were friendly and helped us with our queries.

Food was very good, defo coming back again.

What can I say but Well Done to you. Our first visit for Sunday lunch was Amazing. They have 3 sittings. even though through illness there were 2 members of staff on. We couldn't fault the food ( I'm a Coeliac and they catered in every way for my lunch ), We went back 2 weeks later and yet again, everything was brilliant. Such friendly, accommodating staff and the roast dinner was cooked to perfection. Delicious roast beef with all the trimmings. We're making this our Number #1 place for Sunday lunch. Thank you very much.

What a lovely pub. Very pleasant staff and very efficient service. But best of all.... the carvery. I've had quite a few over the years, but none come close to this one.... It was exceptional. We will be back!! Thank you

Great village pub would recommend to anyone

After visiting on Sunday 14th April 2024 for the Sunday roast, I was completely astounded by how this little gem of a pub had eluded me for so long. We had a starter I had the clams, my dinner parter the asparagus parcels (which ironically was only one parcel) The roast was plentiful and we swapped the cauliflower cheese for extra potatoes that were provided on the side, the gravy was thick and flavoursome with nicely cooked meat. We enjoyed it so much we even had a dessert, both having the amaretto creme brulee, which was accompanied by a delicate shortbread biscuit. I always like to visit restaurants twice before I review and it just so happened this weekend (21/04/24) After the visit this time the differences were far from subtle. This time just ordering a roast (lamb & beef) the same we had last time, once again substituting the cauliflower cheese for more roast potatoes. Once the food come out, the gravy was runny and thin. We was not given extra potatoes, we was actually given less then what other dishes going past us were getting. This was disappointing and as me and my dinner partner was conferring on the differences we was given the bill, which last week came with a chocolate each, this week that was missing. Is this an aid to cut costs, or a manager missing. Either way the consistency seems to vary to much to whole heartedly recommend, after the first visit it I would have given five stars, I won't mention this week but the rating I have given is an average between the two

Live music and was so lovely weekend.

Was invited to an 80th BD party. The atmosphere, service, food etc were brilliant. The whole afternoon was well worth a round trip from Nottingham. If we lived near this place would certainly be our local. Thank you

Absolutely brilliant, visited 30 April at the last minute booking a table just 30 minutes ahead. Fantastic level of service from each of the staff. Superb menu and food, excellent choice of drinks. Our menu included soup, chicken and chorizo skewers, venison pie, battered fish and chips, bread and butter pudding and could not have been bettered. Complimented by live music in the adjacent bar by 2020 Vision from 9pm.

Food great everything great it was so great I'd recommend it

I throughly enjoyed the food. We had sausage and mash. The gravy was made to perfection. Especially the toffee sticky pudding. I've not had a good one like that in years. We had a lovely time and look forward to returning.

First time in here drinking, bar staff really friendly & helpful with fast & efficient service. A great choice of real ales & ciders.

I like to go here on Mondays as alrs are only £2 a pint. Well kept ales too. Always good selection. Elgiods pub but always have a good selection from other breweries.

Nice tody well presented pub. Price for food and drink very good for this business . Staff very friendly entertaining, welcoming and Very bouncy credit to landlord. Kids got bored quick. Don't know if any like colouring packs or something to help next time ?. All loved helicopter in the garden and the sit down pod areas. Light music would be good in gardens in background (small speakers) ? Just an idea An issue with toilet but staff 100% to help out. Thank you.

Pub looked beautiful inside and out. Staff were friendly .menu looked fantastic. Unfortunately , 3 meals took 45 minutes to come out and when it did arrive it was bland and tasteless. Two of us had chicken breast with salad and a few potatoes. One had a beef and ale pie. At £ 14 a dish, this was sadly not worth the money.

What a lovely pub. Fabulous meals. I had fish and chips, superb. The fish was massive! Home made chips which were exceptional. The young lady who served us was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her.

Had the Sunday dinner, it was amazing. The service was 100% lovely clean place would recommend 100%

Great array of dishes and fab cocktails!!

Tried the Maple Syrup Pork Belly starter and instantly fell in love! A good combination of sweet and salty with the stickiness of the maple syrup to enhance it! Absolutely delish!

Friendly pub that is dog friendly also with a decent selection of ales. Elgiod pub but has guest ale also.

Good selection of beers and ales, On Saturday nights it's best to be there early as seating can be limited due to bands playing

We held a wake at the Blue Bell after my mother's funeral. The food, service and room provided were excellent. Thank you for looking after us, you were fantastic.

I cannot comment on food as I wasn't there for it , I was there to see the live music .....which was great 👍 they had a band called "Radius 45" who were trying out a new front man ! ......and very good reviews from everyone there 👍 A great evening , great pub n staff and a great band !

We have been lucky enough to take the residents of Werrington lodge here for a weekly lunch outing and the food is always delicious and the service is brilliant. The residents really love it, thanks Michaella your a star!

We were a group of 28, volunteers and partners from Peterborough Sailability. We had a fabulous evening, food was excellent and Michaela, Ella, Lauren and Freya were very efficient. Also a big shout out to chef Sabs and her assistant.

Saturday I attended an engagement party. We travelled from Nottingham to here & I must say the lady that was dealing with us all was absolutely fantastic. She was amazing. There were a lot of people with additional needs & nothing was too much trouble. She was amazing! Honestly never met a lady like it. She deserves a medal

Less than we expected from reputation and reviews. The waitresses were slow, mechanically distant and unsmiling. The food was average. My salad, both starter and main was limp and dry. A guest of mine chose lasagne. It had clearly been batch-cooked as is normal and popped in the microwave. He had a large lump of ice-cold beef in the middle. I'm only scoring 2 stars as the general atmosphere among other guests was good and the loos were clean.

Food is excellent but service and setup very strange. We booked as a group of 6 people for a Saturday evening and were asked to pre-book our food orders. We did as asked and called to give our food orders a day in advance. We asked if we need to also provide dessert orders but were told we should order on the day. We arrive to our booking on Saturday evening and told one of the meals we pre-ordered is not available and have to change it. We finished our meals around 8PM (food excellent) and asked to order puddings only to be told we should have asked at the start as the kitchen is now closed and food service finished. At 8PM. In the summer. To be fair our waitress was great and managed to make an exception and we had puddings. But the experience was just too strange, no explanation either re staff shortages or anything, it just seemed like they were not prepared to serve a very basic two course meal at a peak time.

Nice evening meal here with friends. Great, funny waitresses that set our good mood. Food delicious although very small portions, particularly the duck dish was minute. Would eat here again but don't go it you're really hungry.

Spend most days in there. Such a nice casual place for food or a quick drink ..

Often change the draught ales on tap. No complaints.

Booked the Bluebell for a close family and friend venue to celebrate my 40th! We had the chef Sabrina put together a special set 3 course menu, and she was fabulous at the communication running up to the night with the checking of people coming and ensuring the night will run fine! The food that was served was FABULOUS... hot, tasty and the best alot of us have had to eat out for a long time! The bar staff and Michaela couldn't have done enough to ensure we always had a drink in hand and the food was served well with a happy and very caring manner. The space that we were placed within the restaurant was set out brilliantly and made it be a very fabulous and enjoyable evening! So again thankyou all at the Bluebell for making my birthday a lovely evening to remember! And you have definitely ensured that many of us will be returning for some future yummy dinners!! Nice atmosphere the only issue I had was they allowed one of their I think regulars to vape I understand its not illegal but in this time of covid and taking in second hand vape surely ain't a good thing.

Lovely food. Very generous portions. Great staff - polite, helpful, patient and welcoming. We were a party of 6 adults and a 4 year old, eating at lunchtime. Can't wait to try their evening menu.

Wonderfully quirky historic pub in the old village centre with an old helicopter in the large garden and murals of planes. Well kept pint of Elgoods Cambridge bitter and guest cask beers. Great music bar with posters on the walls from Buddy Holly to Adele. There's also a stage in the garden so hoping for live music soon. There are also lots of pods where you can sit and drink or eat and an outside bar. Not tried the food yet but definitely going to come back.

Waited to be served in the bar for 15 minutes before giving up & leaving. Didn't see a soul, even after calling out hello to see if anyone was around. It was definitely open, as people were drinking in the beer garden.

First visit since lockdown. Covid rules being strictly abided by. Table service only. Had a lovely afternoon drink with the family.

Would give zero if possible. The man that worked that was incredibly rude and we had booked a pod in advance and got two colleagues to confirm our pod and then got chucked out after 2 minutes of being there. This was handled terribly and was very very rude. Don't waste your time.

Very nice, this is our 3rd time and will go again. Wife and I both had roast pork dinner. A slight disappointment, we didn't get any pork crackling this time.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast from the Bluebell. We opted for lamb. Thermal was deliscious- meat tender and juicy and thickly sliced. Excellent variety of veg and some lovely Yorkshire puds! (These lacked a crispy outer but understandable in a takeaway meal served in covered foil boxes). Generous portion of pudding with creamy custard (frit crumble and a chocolate brownie pudding) . The icing on the cake was an iced shortbread biscuit with 'Mum' iced on it as a nod to mother's Day ,- a thoughtful touch. Excellent meal- will definitely visit again.😊
