Had lovely cake and hot drinks today Mulled wine was one of the best I’ve had for miles and miles Cakes lots of options really delicious and good value Vegan options Staff were mostly amazing one was quite moody and not very friendly but at the till we had a nice experience with the 2 ladies at the till they were lovely and helpful

Was very disappointed with choice of snack and drinks at this establishment for young children,ie my grandson is 4yrs. Firstly no small milkshakes ,told only adult size ones !!!!!!! Come On please, nearly £5 for a milkshake and you couldn't do a smaller one for a child !!!! Sausage roll awful and cheesy chios was like eating thin bits of cardboard. Where was the cheese !!!!!! Overall, awful value for money and very overpriced Will not recommend or visit again

Arranged to meet up with my family for a breakfast / brunch.... It was suggested blue 55......didnt even know China blue in Totnes had a restaurant...... Anyway I agreed..... From the moment I arrived.... All the new restrictions are in place... Very clear..... I was taken aback at first and forgot to sanitizer, I got pulled up!! Sorry about that..... Meet my famy where a lovely cappuccino was waiting for me.... With a menu.... I fancied a full English breakfast..... I started reading..... I went for the " El Classico"!! To all..... I'm in the trade..... But I've never had a breakfast like it..... I tasted everything separately...... So tasty..... You also eat with you eyes.... See picture..... China blue..... Blue 55, I will 100% be back, you blue me away!! I will also be spreading the news the old fashion way!!! Telling everybody Thanks guys..... See you soon

I have been to Blue 55 many times, and every time I always am surprised over and over by just how delicious their burgers are, they are genuinely the nicest burgers I've eaten and I have had a lot. Furthermore, the service is brilliant and the staff and very friendly and now treat me as a regular. I would recommend this to everyone because even if you are vegetarian they have veggie options and even an option for a 'naked' burger without the bun. Fantastic

Overall, the food is good and there is an acceptable choice of beer and wine, including Pandit IPA. However, I don't want to eat my meal next to a windowsill covered in dead flies. Nor am I impressed when my daughter returns from the loos to report that the seat was broken in one and the door didn't lock in another. Sort these issues out and please give the place a damn good clean, not forgetting the cobwebs and we may come back.

We have visited blue 55 many times, and every time we have always had a fantastic meal, staff are really friendly and food excellent, if you have never eaten there before,you are definitely missing out. What more can I say

Always nip in here when in Totnes. Really nice little cafe with good selection of food. Cracking cheese and onion pasty and chips and freshly squeezed orange. Warm and welcoming staff and a 👍 from us.

Haven't been for awhile. Got bored with restrictive menu and had been a lot of times. Went last night with 5 friends and had a great night. Good gins as usual. Pleasant staff. Food was prompt. Menu wasn't hugely different, but enough to make it interesting again for us. Tasty food. All good.

What more can I say as always amazing burgers. Recommend the Wint gin cocktail and the Montreal Burger. Sat in the outside garden restaurant, a beautiful setting with fantastic atmosphere. You will not be disappointed !

First time visiting Blue55, great menu and great food. I would say the wait for slightly longer for food than I anticipated however it was very nice when it arrived. Great atmosphere inside, very clean and staff are attentive. Would very much recommend. Thanks guys.

Went out for a meal and as we are local we thought we would give Blue55 a try. Excellent welcome and restaurant and friendly service. The burgers were absolutely delicious and I could not rate them higher. We also had the crispy onion rings which were also exceptionally tasty. We will definitely be coming back and telling all our friends too.

The halloumi fries are delicious and the burgers brilliant too. Would 100% come back😊 Gin is life, I love gin, No one loves gin like me

Had a great burger meal with teenage boys who were very satisfied with their smoked bacon cheeseburger and chicken burger with yummy hollumi fries as a starter with sour dough bread and dips. Friendly service and fantastic gin menu - made my evening

Chef should be knighted for the scrumptious pleasure that comes from his battered crispy squid rings. Our waitress Katie was equally splendid and charming and no request was to much effort. We were looked after from start to finish and will be back next week for more culinary delights.

Visited for my birthday, booked in advance which you must do as very popular. Food was wonderful and my chicken burger was the best I have ever tasted. The prices are just for the burger so that you can order any extras that you require but really good value. Great selection of gin at affordable price. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Service was really good.

Came here as our son and his friends recommended it. The burgers are very good and the gin selection, comprehensive - each gin has a recommended tonic to accompany it. The restaurant was popular with all ages. The staff were friendly and helpful. Easy, free parking. Large parties accommodated. Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely amazing evening spent here. My friend and I were really looked after, made to feel at home and relaxed, like the whole place revolved around us. I am very hard to impress having been in catering for years now, but I cannot fault a single thing and was utterly blown away. Will definitely be coming back again and singing Blue 55's praises all over Totnes. ❤️

Blue 55 held my 20th birthday for me and made it beyond special! I couldn’t thank them enough for how amazing the set up, service and food was! I loved going there before hand but this visit really blew it out of the water, thank you so much guys! AMAZING

I took my partner for a valentine meal, and yet again had a exceptional meal . We have eaten here a few times and always had a excellent food.The staff were really polite and friendly, so it made hole evening was very relaxing .carnt wait to go again.

Honestly, not sure where to start with this review. Not only does Blue 55 offer a wonderful ambience, great food and value for money, but I have to say, the service was outstanding. The staff were so helpful and friendly and could not have done more. We visited last night as a family. When booking, the time we wanted could not be accommodated as they had a large party arriving at the same time. As our children are fairly young, I asked if we pre ordered, could we arrive for opening. This was accommodated well and small changes to the meal presentation for our child with autism were made. As a family, we often avoid going out for meals as they can be quite stressful for our son and us. The staff were absolutely fantastic, thank you Blue 55, you made it a great meal and a wonderful experience. I could not recommend this place enough! Not only was it all of the above, but such a clean place, great, clean toilets too.

We visited on a Friday evening for the first time and ordered the burgers of the day. To be fair that's exactly what we got, cooked well, but that was it, a burger, no garnish, fries or coleslaw and all the the hefty price of £10.95!! To be honest there are far better options locally and at a fair price. Would I recommend? no and would I rush back, probably not. It just seems a lot of money for something very basic.

Blue 55 has a lovely atmosphere with something on the menu for everyone. I have eaten here many times and the food has been perfect every time. The staff are particularly friendly and efficient.

We arrived with birthday cake last night and were not disappointed. All but one had burgers with bits added, taken out etc and nothing was too much trouble. The ribs were delicious too. Courgette chips are a must. Lovely mock tails were offered to the drivers. The staff were great, efficient and friendly. I would definitely recommend and be going back.

Ate here tonight with my other half following some recommendations from Friends. Was really impressed. Great service - fast, polite and friendly. Food was lovely. Really flavorsome burgers, cooked well served with tasty fries. Great atmosphere. Definitely will return.

Went here with family - a table of 8 and had a fabulous meal. The staff are friendly and the food is really good. The place is fun upbeat and lively, perhaps a little loud if there are a number of large tables in house, but very friendly staff and guests. Excellent Burgers and Halloumi Fries and we were amazingly impressed with the Zucchini Fries too. Will definitely go back if in the area again and highly recommend a visit. It was pouring with rain and as we took our dog, we initially booked an outside table, but on arrival they placed us just inside and our dog could happily stay under the table. Very much appreciate that they could accommodate us in this way. On a side note, I once before popped in here and managed to convince them to give me take out as I just couldn't face going out later and although they do not generally offer a take-out service, the restaurant was quiet as it was early evening, and they happily agreed to make me two burgers to go and they were just as delicious.

Had a very enjoyable evening at Blue 55. The drinks were very nice and food delicious. The staff weren’t exactly on the ball though. The girl who initially served us was very pleasant but the young lad, whilst very nice didn’t get the drinks order correct, then didn’t clear all the table when asked. I was slightly taken back when asked how much I’d like to pay. If I want to tip, I’d like to follow instructions on the card machine or put some change onto the plate. Having inexperienced waiting staff diminishes the overall experience, which is a shame as the food was excellent.

Never been before and thought we would give it a go. Excellent food and excellent service at a really good price. menu catered for kids, vegetarian and meat eaters alike. will definitely go back and would highly recommend.

So before I start.....I love this place. Totnes needs character evening places to eat. However...... it’s just become a bit boring. The same menu. Service that is polite but not “tight”. We had to wait for drinks service.

This was the first time we have visited blue 55, and what a delight it was. All the staff we polite and most welcoming. The food was excellent, and the puddings were to die for, especially the pecan pie . Would highly recommend a visit. We will definitely be going back.

Have been to China Blue many times in the past but only just heard about this place. Lovely setting and good size restaurant. The staff were incredibly attentive (I was lucky enough to bump into Scot, an old school friend, who served us along with a couple of others!). Gin selection did not fail to impress and we liked the matching tonics too - nice touch. Food was great, we had a burger each and shared the fries/coleslaw (more than enough between two). Big fan of Totnes as it is, we will be back! Have already recommended to two friends who have booked for this evening. P.s.- we are so sorry we didn't tip.. shamefully realised we had no change after already paying on card!!

Really good food, yummy burgers, delicious spicy chicken wings and Hallumi fries! Fun, funky little restaurant, and really nice friendly staff, and good prices! Will definitely be returning soon!

Have been here a few times in its first year and like it a lot.

We are on holiday for the Easter weekend and came here tonight as we were looking for food with live music. The restaurant is decorated well with nice little touches scattered around. The staff were all really friendly and the service was 10/10. Great drinks menu with lots of different gins to try! The burgers are amazing with excellent quality beef. You can add extras into your burger and they have lots of different sauces too. I ordered the halloumi fries which were out of this world...so much so we have booked to go back tomorrow! There are vegetarian options available too should you be interested. Highly recommended!!

Such great food and the staff are really knowledgable on their gins. We recommend saving a little room for the G&T; sorbet after too!

Amazing selection of Gin and great staff knowledge about mixers and flavours. The burgers are super delicious - with real BBQ flavour. If you don’t fancy a burger, the ribs are amazing too! I also love the homemade coleslaw with seeds and onion rings. Great staff and comfortable atmosphere.

Visited Blue 55 on a Friday evening with a girl friend. Had been recommended by my friends Hairdresser. The place has a wonderful atmosphere with music playing in the background, sometimes there is live music. The menu was quite extensive with a wide choice of burgers and fries, also vegetarian choices. We didn't have room for dessert! The waiting staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks menu, lots of speciality Gins which they talked us through to help us make a choice and also a wide range of Fevertree mixers to go with your choice of Gin.

A great team of staff who were very attentive but not pushy giving us the chance to have a relaxed meal. Pretty outdoor space. Great food. Amazing gin selection & staff had a great knowledge of their wares. Thanks very much.

First visit to Blue 55 for my Husbands Birthday, very impressed! Very friendly knowledgeable staff who made us feel relaxed and welcome. Delicious festive menu and very reasonably priced. Best gourmet burgers we’ve had with a great gin selection. I would highly recommend a visit and will definitely be back for more!!

I’ve lived in central London for almost 10 years now and have tasted dishes from many high end vegan restaurants.The Blue 55 vegan burger was by far the best that I have ever tried.

The bar man is so knowledgeable about the gins, I went in a complete novice and he allowed me to smell all of them and I mixed and matched. The food was unforgettable, best burger south of London.

Very warm welcome and friendly restaurant. It's been great for a relaxed meal after Ski Club every Friday - we now have our own table and are really made to feel welcome. Kids love the option to personalise their burgers and we've been enjoying the Christmas Menu but were happy to see Sweet Potato fries back as an option this evening.

Surprised to find this charming little gourmet burger bar open evenings in the cafe at China Blue. That was open was given away by some lovely candle lanterns in the car park leading to the front door. Once in we had a very welcoming experience. Excellent burgers with side dishes. Good value with super service. Nice relaxing ambience.

This is a brilliant restaurant. You do not feel like you're in China Blue at all - it is quite cleverly converted from a cafe into a restaurant. We had two amazing waiters and the food is delicious! The halloumi fries were incredible!! The onions rings were crispy and the burgers were great. All of the side dishes were just as good as the main thing. The prices are just right too. We will be going here again and will be recommending to all our friends! :)

We were very grateful to be accommodated as we didn't book, the service was excellent and a very efficient young man served us, offered water at the table, mints at the end, the atmosphere was very nice. If there was any point to note is that the homemade beef burgers lacks a bit of zing, maybe more pepper!!! However would recommend.

Went here without booking, as it opened at 6.30. Nice welcome and great barman who knew his stuff. Starters and burgers were really good. (Salmon and Chicken Bufger). Thoroughly recommend.

I was unsure how this cafe space would feel as an evening restaurant, however it was cleverly converted and had a nice atmosphere.

Whilst the burger was ok, both buns were burnt and as we weren't asked how our food was until the end of the meal we left them. The waitress did take the cost of the rosemary fries off but to be honest they weren't great either. Excellent choice of gins which redeemed the evening slightly but we won't be returning.

I went with family, very surpise what fab food it was. I had a lovely fruit cider and we ordered her drink at the bar before the meal. The staff were slow taking your order but didnt mind the wait because the food came quick after we ordered. I had the cheese burger which was cooked to perfection and onion rings were lovely and the chips were nice as well. I recommend to families and couples, friends. I will definitely go back again to take my hubbby.

I never really thought about going here -its part of China Blue craft/pottery store after all but we ended up getting a voucher giving us 25% off, so why not.

We decided to give this new venture a try and we're very impressed. "Him" had cheeseburger which he said was very moist and tasty. I had the special BBQ chicken burger and as I usually "don't like burgers" it was gorgeous. The onion rings were some of the best we have ever had. Rosemary French fries were different, subtle but sublime. Couldn't fit in a dessert, unfortunately! Would highly recommend it!

We arrived about 7, having reserved a table. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. We all had different burgers, all of which were very tasty. I tried a gin from their extensive menu, it was visually gorgeous and tasted devine. We will return.

I have eaten here twice and both times it has been a great experience. The food is lovely: I had the chicken Ceasar salad which was reasonably priced as are most things on the menu. The staff are great and the place has a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. The gins on offer are also reasonable and varied and the extensive range of different tonic waters a nice touch. I will be back.

I visited the restaurant yesterday evening and loved it. The atmosphere is chilled and casual and the staff are friendly and helpful. The knowledge of the gins by the bar staff is excellent so gin recommendations were very welcome. There were four in our party, 2 had the burger with pulled pork which apparently was amazing, 1 other had the lamb burger which again was delicious and I had the tofu burger which again was fantastic. We had courgette fries, sweet potato fries and haloumi fries which had the most amazing dressing drizzled over it with pomegranates and mint......need I say more. Although pretty full (there are also nibbles on the bar! ) we shared a pecan pie - that was good too. All in all a great evening. Highly recommended.

Firstly, the ambiance. Really nicely decorated and relatively quite so you can hear others at the table. Very casual and good for families.

I recently ate here for the first time. As you walk in you can't help but think about thr fact that the resteraunt is a cafe during the day. This could be because I have had a nice jacket potato or two here many times, usually surrounded by the older age demographic that usually occupies the space. First impressions were good as thr staff were very warm and friendly. I went into this place with some premeditated resentments I must admit. One of my pet peeves is when I get charged separate for fries. I refuse to eat at GBK for this reason. It's not that I'm cheap, I just feel that it is a bit cheeky. In my opinion just put it on the plate and charge me accordingly as one dish. We ordered some wings, two burgers, some fries, and onion rings. The wings were really good which was really nice as good wings are hard to find. They were also appropriatly priced. We both had the Blue 55 burger and were not entirely dissappointed. To elaborate on that statement a little bit let me explain. The burger itself was quality beef, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The toppingw and flavor profile were also really nice. The bun was very different but extremely tasty. The downside of this burger was the bun to burger ratio. The burger occupied about 60% of the bun which makes it seem small. In reality it is not a small burger but it's like putting on your dad's shoes as a child and walking around the house jokingly. It's cute and all but at the end of the day it looks a bit ridiculous. The cost of the burger was a bit high too. I can look past that being it has only been open a few months and they need to explore their price elasticity. I would ideally like to have paid 8-8.50 for the burger. A pound extra was well worth the large hunk of cheese they put on top. The fries were good. The onion rings were top notch. Crispy but not over cooked and without that typical greasy, hard to stay together structure. All in all I feel the place is a dash overpriced and they still have a few things to iron out. I will go back for a bite sometime.

I've visited here with my partner and our 19 year old daughter for our family evening meal a number of times. We visit china blue during the daytime to use it as a place to relax, do work or get a haircut and we're amazed at fantastic work they've put in to the burger restaurant! Being quite health conscious, we source good quality local ingredients and often fall flat when it comes to finding somewhere that actually makes decent meals that fill you up. This place does exactly that! The burgers are locally sourced, there are salmon (my favourite!), chicken, tofu and chickpea burger alternatives for humans like me who don't eat red meat. I also love the ceasar salad; it's a decent portion with fresh salad, a whole chicken breast cooked perfectly with anchovies, croutons and Parmesan. Most ceasar salads I've had are sad looking things shoved in a giant bowl that taste cheap and make you feel slightly wrong afterwards, but this salad is fantastic! The sweet potato fries are perfect as are the rosemary fries I often fit into my face at super speed.

We visited this restaurant because of a mail-drop through our door and a particular liking of gin. Advertised as a gin & burger bar we thought it a unique experience and opted to give it a go. The Restaurant is attached (and part of) the China Blue facility but for the purposes of the evening's meal, it's effectively a separate space. Free parking is available outside and on entry we're met by welcoming and attentive staff and shown to a table. The bar focusses on Gin (as you'd expect) and a selection of predominantly real ales and a few draught beers. Not too much "standard" drinks I noticed which is nice.
