On the way to a Michelin star I feel, service is good, attentive but not overly.

Blue Ball Restaurant

07/04/2019: Had dinner here because it was highly rated on Trip Advisor. Can see why, sophisticated cuisine and reasonable prices.
17/04/2019: This charming and interesting restaurant was highly recommended to us by friends. We arrived shortly after it opened for the evening, and were invited to sit at our choice of tables, in a room boasting rustic brickwork and beams, warm and comfortable. We ordered the wife's large Merlot, whilst I looked closely at a collection of bottled beers, ales and lagers looking for that dread word 'fruity ' which most brewers are adding to their repetoire. I chose a bottle of Tomos Watkins 'Magic' lager and to my surprise it was outstanding good. The wife enjoyed her wine as well, as we poored over a handsome, and largely original menu. She ordered their ' Lentil and Black Bean' daal, I asked for one of the daily specials ..mackerel fillets. Her dish was very well received, tasty, flavoured and fulsome; mine was disappointingly boney. It was only after I was ambushed by bones whilst swallowing that I started to inspect the fish meat more closely, which didn't make for enjoyable eating. On being invited to comment by the waitress on our meals, we mentioned how much my wife enjoyed her dall, but that I had been surprised to find so many bones in what had been advertised as 'filletted '. As we were finishing up, Debbie, one of the owners appeared to apologise, saying they take every care. This restaurant has a great reputation built over several years as witnessed by successive "Certificates of Excellence" and many other awards for the quality of its food, so I will quietly leave it there.

29/04/2019: We had take away fish ,chips, peas from here a couple of nights ,We both really enjoyed our food I had fish no batter which was really good and the peas were tasty .you could also sit in here to eat not a big area but very clean . Very friendly and welcoming gentleman and lady serving and spoke both Welsh and English . We will visit here again when next on holiday .
20/04/2019: Very good fish and chips. Lovely fish and batter. Portion size smaller than average but hardly worth complaining about. We were clearly English and staff were very pleasant. Everything is cooked fresh to order. 6 very happy tummys here.
