Blandscliffe cafe and Holiday Flats in Scarborough

We have been frequent visitors to Scarborough over the years, but this was the first time we had been to this lovely cafe. We visited twice during our stay, the first time choosing the meat pie and the second time the roast beef. The food was beautifully cooked, and came with proper potatoes and proper northern English vegetables! Just like our mothers used to make - which may not be to everyone's taste but certainly was to ours! The trifle and bread and butter pudding were perfect, and so was the proper northern English tea we finished off with. We would highly recommend this cafe to anyone who loves a proper northern English meal - did I use those words before!? The establishment is family-run and the people are some of the friendliest we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We will certainly be going back again.

On our day visit to Scarborough as usual we headed to Blandscliffe Cafe for lunch. The welcome was warm as it always has been from the lady owner. We chose our usual seats and she took our order ( which she had remembered from the last time) , we had a brief chat about how business was and the world in general 😊. The food was proper fish and chips, freshly cooked and delicious. Would recommend without any doubt.

4 of us friends, their collie, and our 2 jack Russell dogs, arrived there hungry for fish and chips. We had been turned away from the cafe down the hill and around the corner because of our 4 legged friends. Our fish and chips were delicious: light batter, beautiful flaky fish, all complimented with gorgeous marrowfat peas. We will definitely go there again when we're next in Scarborough. Lovely customer service/family/everything! Thank you.

On our usual day out from Durham City to sunny Scarborough we had lunch in our favourite cafe. As usual the food was freshly cooked and very tasty, the owner is very helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended.

This is a must to try fish and chips cooked in beef dripping. Large portions and chips to die for We found the portions to big for us therefore could not try the sweet, especially as crumble was on the menu.

Couldn't of asked for a nicer place. The service they deliver is excellent. The breakfast is great. The hoteliers are both professional and extremely friendly. We will be booking another week with them next year.

Me and my wife have just had another amazing visit to the Blandscliffe cafe and holiday flats. The welcome has always was fantastic, the owners Sean and Anna are really helpful and friendly. The flat we stayed in was beautiful and the view was to die for. The food was excellent, we can't wait to go back next year for our anniversary. Thanks Anna and Sean we miss you both already. Had a day out in Scarborough and stopped for a fish and chips in this place. We got very warm welcome straight away, ordered three course meal with a drink which came to £9.50 per person. It was 8 of us and the food came out hot and on time so everyone could eat together. Home made soup was delicious, followed by big portion of fish and chips and pudding. All three meals were like home made. They didn't have problem to do gluten free fish without batter. Staff were lovely and polite, always smiling. We will definitely come to this place again and also recommend it to our friends!

I had a week at the Blandscliffe Holiday Flats in June and me and my wife can't wait to return in September. The café owners Anna and Sean are very helpful and welcoming and have lot's of tips of places you can visit, and entertainment you may be interested in. The food in the café is as always excellent. Roll on September, Can't wait.

Worst meal we have had for years. The chips were soggy , soaked in oil, ( dirty oil & not hot enough to fry the chips ). Mixed swede & carrot was like something out of an old school meal. Sponge pudding was included in the two course meal deal , but i was told when i ordered my second course that treacle sponge would be extra so took the chocolate option & it was rubbish ( not allowed to write what i really thought ).We were not asked what the food was like as i am sure they already know the answer. Just do not eat here.

Me and my wife have just had a fabulous week in the company of two great hosts, namely Anna & Sean at the Blandscliff Café. The view from our window was amazing and the food as always was unbeatable. We loved it so much we are going again in September and really can't wait. Colin and Janet Rylatt

Thanks god it not Thursday when cafe is shut Called in for a milky coffee and it was lush The way milky coffee used to taste Good value hot and relaxing Great menu two course specials

Found this quaint hidden little fish and chip restaurant. Had excellent cod and chips and peas there. There was a choice of fish. Service was excellent, very pleasant, cheery young waitresses. Would definitely go back and recommend.
