Came in for some food and the service was amazing, Luke was great and the waffle was sooo good

First time coming here Miles and Miles are really chill ngl helped me figure out what to order and gave good suggestions, really friendly. Had the strawberries and cream iced matcha from Miles suggestion it was banging tbh

We had a coffee and a diet coke. Is that enough to judge a place like Black Sheep, one might ask. When you are as experienced as we are (sorry for being so arrogant) you can. Miles served us. We knew from the first minute that this place knows what good customer service means to them. Miles was superb. The screen showed that our order was being prepared. The next screen would show when we could pick up our order. True, it wasn't too busy but Miles brought everything to our table and took time for a chat. All that for a minute order. That's how you recognise a good business. Well done and... we wil spread the word.

Best matcha ever had staff are amazing and really helpfull

I am not sure why I am even bothering with this. The cafe is in my opinion over rated by others I only hope they don't get busy with the staff they have. Food delivery guy got a great and fast response unlike others that were using it . Expensive call round my house and I will give you a coffee and a packet of biscuits for that for 2.

Excellent service. My Latte was a little on the cool side and the guy was most apologetic and immediately changed it. That is good service. The whole team seem very happy to help and, yes the coffee was good. Only downside is the temperature in Queensgate! Very cold.

Have been using this coffee shop for the last few weeks, would highly recommend this to anyone passing through queensgate. If its for a quick take out coffee or a sit in snack or meal , this is definitely a place to sit and watch the world go by in pleasant surroundings. Luke and the ladies always have a smile and a friendly hello waiting, just what we all need at times.

Me and a friend, visited Black Sheep Coffee for the first time, and we had such a great experience! Ordering via the digital tablets was super quick and easy. I got the Matcha Strawberries & Cream and the Breakfast Wrap—both were absolutely to die for! My friend ordered a Vanilla Latte and a Bacon Roll, which she loved, but her coffee came as a black coffee by mistake. When we mentioned it, they said it looked like she might have accidentally selected filtered coffee. But Luke, who served us, was an absolute gem—he immediately offered to replace it with a Vanilla Latte, free of charge! And to top it off, when it arrived, he even made a little heart in the froth. Bless him, what a cutie! 🥰 Amazing service, delicious food, and such a lovely vibe. We’ll definitely be back!

I chose Black Sheep to catch up with my girlfriend. I absolutely loved matcha latte and bagel with beef sauerkraut and pickles. The atmosphere was very nice too. I felt like we could talk and relax and it felt intimate even in the middle of a crowded mall on a Sunday.

For cleanliness, I am giving 0 stars! It’s so dirty, unhygienic and unkept. I’m very concerned for the hygiene standards. The sinks and counters at the front have dried up spillages and look like they haven’t been cleaned in a year. The staff are always talking and standing around and don’t maintain hygiene standards. Please do something about it asap!

Ordered a protein bowl with added extras, once it arrived (delivered) I had noticed none of the extras was added accept for a dollop of peanut butter ( normally well presented with the added extras I had ordered ) disappointed!

Really nice place. Prices match the quality, so quite high in both respects but very much worth it. Easy to order, table service available. Staff were happy to explain what they had available as I'm not used to these posh places. Nice seating, relaxed, and a great place to stop between shopping in the rest of Queensgate.

I was ignored at the till for a good ten minutes and was going to be ignored for longer if I didn’t speak up. They refused to serve me because they were “too busy” and asked me to order on their machine. If I’m coming at the till it’s maybe because the machine it’s not allowing me to order certain things or add certain things.

Staff was so kind and helpful, gave me sugestions and helped me on chosing between a few options, ended up having an outstanding experience. Best coffee in town!

Por lo general, muy contento con este lugar, pero esta vez me decepcionaron. Mi hijo de 4 años está entrenando en el baño y comenzó el proceso de tener que ir no 2 por lo que necesitaba el inodoro desesperadamente. Nos dijeron que no podíamos usar sus baños, ya que está cerrado solo para el personal y los únicos baños para acceder era de 5 a 10 minutos a pie, especialmente con un niño pequeño tratando de mantenerlo en el inodoro. Me molesta que no nos ayuden.

Today, I took my family out for hot chocolate and waffles, and the food and drinks were flawless. The two young ladies and the young gentleman working there were incredibly hardworking, doing their best to serve all the customers efficiently. While waiting at our table (231, table 17), I noticed how overwhelmed they were due to the sheer number of guests, which left them with no time to clean the dining area. I decided to help tidy up out of empathy for their situation. I would like to urge the café owner to reconsider the shift planning, as expecting only three staff members to serve and manage hundreds of guests is unreasonable. Adding at least two more employees—one dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and another to assist with service—would help prevent burnout and maintain service quality. Displaying bins outside near the tables would help the staff manage cleaning more efficiently, as customers would be encouraged to clear their own waste. Additionally, having a trolley for collecting dirty dishes would be greatly appreciated and would support the team in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Thank you to the team for your outstanding effort and service. Your hard work and delicious offerings were greatly appreciated! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sandwich sucks it's either burnt or soggy, drinks are delivered cold even a basic cup of tea. Staff are rude especially the moody one with glasses and quite tall. Hopefully this place get closed down sooner rather than later.

Used to love this coffee place but the past few weeks the service has been incredibly slow. I would understand if it was staffing issues and totally sympathise as I’ve worked barista jobs myself, but I’ve seen multiple occasions where no matter if it’s 5 people behind the machines or 1, they only seem to concentrate on 1 order at a time, rather than multiple people tackling orders, and it being organised (for example one does iced, one does hot, one does food). Twice now I’ve waited over 25 minutes for an iced latte only, just a basic one that doesn’t need blending, just a shot and milk with ice, while hot drink orders seem to get prioritised no matter how much earlier you ordered. And when you’ve got a finite lunch break and almost have to give up and leave after spending a fiver for a medium iced drink with no cream or special items, it’s not the best!! The staff are nice, and the coffee is good when you get it, but the organisation is growing incredibly poor and service inconsistent. The only plus I can say is when I’ve had waffles, they’re delicious, but I daren’t order them anymore as it’ll make me late for my shift! Real shame.

Came in for a latte and was served by a very helpful employee who took my order as the screens was full it tasted amazing and the latte art was stunning. Would highly recommend going here.

Fourth time to this amazing coffee shop in the heart of Queensgate. Love their coffees and their waffles are to die for, especially the chocolate and strawberry! My daughter had the Iced Strawberry and Cream Matcha and loved every bit of it. With lots of other coffee shops these days, service always feels rushed but the staff here are lovely and friendly and I really felt looked after. Totally recommend.

Al pasar mi esposa y yo tomamos un café. Mi esposa tenía un regular a poco más de £ 5 y yo tenía un pequeño a poco menos de £ 5. ¡El regular era el doble de grande! Lo pequeño es una relación calidad-precio terrible, sin embargo, lo regular es bastante buena relación calidad-precio, ya que la calidad es genial y lo que esperas de un café de gama alta. Pero el tamaño de la pequeña es prácticamente un tamaño de tiro expreso. Aparte de esto genial, ¡pero no pidas pequeños!

I come here normally every other day, and i usually order the cheese toastie as it is perfectly cooked and served which gives me a good start to the day. Absolutely recommend 👍👍

I like your coffee as you do the strong blend robusta coffee and the blue volcano blend. Most other chains across the UK get my order correct but this has happened on 2 serperate occasions at the queensgate branch where I've ordered a robusta coffee blend and got given the blue volcano blend. Now if I wanted week coffee I would have selected blue volcano or gone Costa. I'm annoyed as it's just this branch that seem to mess up my order And have coffee granels in my drink. Nice layer at the bottom and not the strong coffee blend I really wanted. Just queensgate so far that have messed it up. I do like the coffee tho I'm just really annoyed from this as it's happened more than once and it's always this branch.

Visited this coffee shop on 09/08/24 on a recommendation from friends and ordered a double espresso and an americano sampling two of the three beans. Really great flavours and definitely kick started my day.

I was in Queensgate today with my 5 children (including 3mo baby). My plan was to get there at 9, do the shopping we needed to do and be home by 10:30 when babys bottle was due). We had finished our shopping and my older children had taken an interest in the life-size, interactive, safari animal display. I could either insist we went home, or find somewhere to help me warm the bottle. Having been in a similar situation a few times before over the years I know that lots of cafes and restaurants will not provide hot water for this purpose. I spotted Black Sheep and having never purchased anything from there before I was apprehensive that they would be able to help. I was fully prepared to pay for a full price coffee in exchange for hot water in a take-away cup, especially as I wasn’t purchasing anything for myself. When I got to the till and asked a barista if she could help me. I explained I was happy to pay for it. She and her male colleague could not have been more helpful, and they refused my offer of payment! We had a light conversation and they were so lovely and personable. They really were, without a doubt second to none of any of the other baristas I’ve encountered at coffee shop chains. I cannot rate Black Sheep enough and I didn’t even get to experience their menu! My partner works in town and I’ve since told him that he is no longer allowed to support any other coffee chain besides Black Sheep, going forward! 😂 Next time we’re in Queensgate, I’ll pop in for a coffee and a bottle

El personal era muy servicial y lo suficientemente amable para darme una oportunidad extra en la casa y un agua helada. Hicieron un esfuerzo adicional y realmente lo aprecio! I wanted to try the pistachio latte with cream to give me a boost before work - It was delicious, i would recommend this particular drink and will try a Macha next The whole team were fabulous and really bright so early in the morning Well done girls for a fabulous drink

I’m not sure I can rate this lovely coffee house well enough by the stars given as I feel Limited ! Deserves 10 blimmimg stars Golly! and I rarely ever give reviews ..,but this place !! From… The food, to the ambience, to the very lovely warm baristas They always always get it RIGHT ! And no I’m not exaggerating because I’ve tried another branch elsewhere and they don’t measure up !!! Not even close !! Tried their breakfast wrap today and I was translated to another dimension !sigh Coffee is divine 🥰🥰 And Everything always tastes so so fresh !! My mum made a joke that everything has been freshly harvested that morning ( brought her here as a treat when she visited ) It breaks my heart that they don’t have a drive through and their hours aren’t earlier as this would have been my go to as I dash off to work in the mornings especially for my long commutes 😍😍 I’m going to have to settle for my off days as this is a treat I look forward to Black sheep coffee you truly have LEFT the herd behind !(makes the heart sign on chest !!sigh !) PS I do hope you have plans to open more branches in PBORO (fingers crossed )

Disappointing Visit - Avoid the Charred Toastie I recently visited Black Sheep Cafe with high hopes for a relaxing lunch. Unfortunately, my experience left a bitter taste in my mouth (quite literally). I ordered a toastie, expecting a warm and cheesy delight. However, what arrived was a charcoal briquette disguised as a sandwich. It was inedible - burnt to a crisp on both sides. Dismissive Service Utterly disappointed, I politely brought the issue to the staff's attention. To my surprise, they offered no apology or solution. They simply stated they "couldn't do anything" about it. This dismissive attitude was the real kicker. A simple "I'm sorry, let's get you a fresh one" would have gone a long way. Skip the Blackened Sheep Instead of a pleasant lunch experience, I was left feeling frustrated and hungry. If you're looking for a cafe that prioritizes customer satisfaction and edible food, I recommend steering clear of Black Sheep Cafe. There are plenty of other cafes in town that will treat you with respect and serve food that isn't a fire hazard.

Recently came in for a nice latte and a toastie. The service was great by the lovely staff, the coffee was amazing and the toastie turned out to be a warm and cheesy delight! Will definitely be back for their amazing waffles!

Tried a hot Salt Beef Bagel today - OMG, delicious. Husband & I will now be buying this at every Black Sheep we visit, as we move to Kent soon! Pistachio latte just tops it off ! Great service & cheery staff . Go and visit !

The matcha late was really bad. It wasnt whisked properly it had huge lumps in it which made it bitter and unpleasant. Would not recommend the matcha late

I love this little haven in the middle of the centre. I have visited a few times now and every times has been pleasant. I like that it isn’t a monster-chain plus the food and drink offerings are refreshingly different to the usual standard coffee shop fare. The waffles are my highlight, particularly biscoff with added strawberries and cream. But, there is also smoked salmon bagels, mini pizza as well as the choice to customise your coffee with matcha, turmeric and protein, which I’ve been looking for since I visited Miami and could customise my drink way back in 2010! Finally, we have caught up here in UK, thanks to BSC. Even when I did pick one of the many choices and didn’t like it, the staff kindly added syrup for free and another time advised that the taste of another might be a bit out of the ordinary and if I didn’t like it they would swap for free. All with a smile. To top all that, the staff are very friendly. It was a stark difference to another independent coffee shop I was coldly served at here in Peterborough. I am disabled and without asking they brought my order to the table despite it being a collect counter. I will definitely be back again. And again. :)

The staff always make me feel welcome here and all smiling and have a chat whilst serving, I'm actually homeless and most places don't make us feel welcome just want us out. Where's black sheep coffee like I say make me feel welcome and comfortable here I rate 10/10 for staff communication and 10/10 for drink quality!!

This is my favourite place to get coffee in Peterborough city centre. And I have tried a number of different places. The quality of my regular order of latte to go is consistently good with the coffee flavour I like. Ordering through the self-service screens is easy and there is a wide range of food and drinks available to you. You can customise your coffee just how you want it. Service is quick and efficient. Highly recommend.

Some people seem to complain about the service and how it takes longer when its BUSY, I have never had a issue some people are just impatient and want something to moan about.
