Popped in for some lunch today staff were friendly & welcoming, the chicken strips and curly fries were absolutely lovely not a long wait at all. i’ll definitely be back

First time trying black rooster .I opted for a mild chicken salad. The mild for me wasn't so mild I found it incredibly spicy. I requested another drink as my mouth felt like it was on fire. The imanager Bilal came over with another pespi & a bottle of water. He advised me of the different spice options & suggested I try the extra mild . I did not request my food to be changed as I ate half of the salad box. He then came back with a fresh extra mild salad box and asked ne to try this. The taste was great I was able to enjoy this much more . So 5 star for the food it was fresh ,tasty & good value for money as there was a lunch time deal on . 5 star for the customer service. Bilal's customer service was outstanding. He was caring and attentive. He wanted to make sure I left happy with my food choice. So thank you. I shall be back for some extra mild chicken soon.. .

Ordered a takeaway we have had food poisoning from the uncooked chicken stay away please don’t eat here. I will Be reporting them disgusting.

Absolutely gutted I wasted my Friday night in this place, food took over an hour to come, we had to ask what was happening for them to just ask us what we ordered. We still did not get what we asked for, missing items and the filling was wrong in mains, we paid extra for cheese, and received chicken in a pita drenched in something, couldn’t even pick the pita up. Chicken had a horrible powdery taste/texture to it, dips were pitiful and the coleslaw was runny and bland, oh and don’t order the cheap frozen onion rings. In the end I stoped asking for the missing items. The mango sauce we ordered on the side should come with a warning !! I dipped without a smell test and oh my gawddddd gross. It tastes like puke, like old puke. This was easily the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. There are other reviews pointing out how bad this sauce tastes, surely one person mentions it and you guys check that out? I was with friends and they confirmed how bad it was. We did not enjoy our dine in experience, we were starving after the wait and I still couldn’t stomach the food. The staff all except one girl were strange, and dismissive. They actually just fully ignored any questions leaving one girl deal with all issues. I could see other tables suffering poor food and service too. This girl done her best and is an absolute credit to the business, unfortunately one girl isn’t enough and she despite being great will not manage to prevent customers having a negative experience. Another point is we can see directly into the kitchen, staff walking about in regular mucky looking clothes, no kitchen attire, it was an eye opener for sure as these staff members seemed to be working the kitchen and front restaurant in casual clothes, it looked filthy and completely put me off further. I’m surprised at how busy the place was. I feel sorry for that poor girl running around trying to put fires out. She deserves better, hopefully she gets out and finds a job in a more respectful establishment.

Despite a very clean shop, our experience was not great. After waiting 30 mins for our food (with a hungry 2 year old and the only people in the shop mind you), the food wasn't even hot, and they didn't bring a side that was ordered. The chicken on my burger was so dry that I couldn't eat it. 15 mins later, they brought out the corn that was forgotten and a fresh burger. The chicken was extremely dry, and the burger was just soggy. So after a 20-mile drive to go there, specifically, our day was ruined. We just neatly packed everything up and left. Incredible disappointed.

Best place in East Kilbride for grilled chicken

Ordered a burrito and they bought out a quasadilla. my friends order was correct but I waited 30 mins for mine to be changed. It was then unedible as it was just so salty. Worst ever.

The place was absolutely roasting, when asked to turn the heating off to cool the place down got told no. Place was not clean nor tidy food still left on tables.

Fast food this isn't, they are slower than a week in jail. I could have driven home and made my own burger quicker.

I’ve waited for 30 minutes for my food whilst everyone else in my group is eating away how on earth is it difficult just to have someone’s food ready, 30 minutes for a single meal whats this about?!

Ordered food on the phone and waited 25 min in the restaurant to get it drove 4 min home and found it was not what I ordered and it was stone cold ...... can't be repeated

Got my first taste of the black rooster menu tonight. Difficult review to write. I got the quarter chicken sweet potato fries and onion rings. The sweet potato fries were hot crispy and delicious, the onion rings were very ordinary and I've had better from frozen from a supermarket. The chicken was delicious. The problem I have is with the description, I paid 8.50 for a quarter chicken which turned out to be nothing more than a very small chicken leg. Nothing else attached that would explain why it was a chicken quarter. This makes it the most expensive chicken leg I have ever eaten. Very nice to eat but extremely poor value.

Really bad food. Would not recommend.

Ordered a collection. Food was really bad. Such bad quality, coleslaw was cheap nasty stuff. Drinks tasted cheap. I think all the good ratings on here are there pals or been paid to post a good review. £30 quid wasted never again.

Wish I’d read the reviews. Went in store to order takeaway. Complete shambles taking the order & very slow. Food was disgusting when it got it. Mango and lime had weird flavour, almost like slightly off butter (as another review has noted). Wont be back

Disappointed, item missing from order that was placed through just eat, called straight away to get told they can’t do anything about it and I need to request a refund from just eat!! Or, I can collect the missing item…I got it delivered because I couldn’t collect!! Last time I ordered I had chips missing but let it go, so hence the reason I’m now giving a review!!

Quite possibly the worst tasting peri peri chicken in the area when you consider the price you are paying. Nowhere near Nando’s for quality and absolute nowhere near Victoria grill for value for money. The rice is the worst rice I’ve ever tried.

Was up last night 4th August roughly 7.30 has it changed hands . Service was a disaster from chefs they prioritised ( Just Eat ) people waiting sitting in 30 -35 min for a simple meal. People walking out. Workers in back of restaurant getting orders mixed up . Truthful it was a nightmare . Also noticed in kitchen ?? A filthy refuse outside bin in the middle of the kitchen next to the fryer absolutely disgusting it was...Food all over kitchen floor ...Who ever has the franchise get a grip

Nice chicken only downside was they forgot my rice but refunded on just eat promptly.

Rude and cheeky staff - gave this place a second chance after one of the workers helped themselves to my food but then 2 cheeky girls on the phone tonight done it for me total joke will never ever ever be back tried to give the benefit of the doubt but the staff are all honestly so so so so so terribly bad and rude no wonder it has such bad reviews will never ever ever be back

Mixed my order up 2 times and I ordered a mild chicken burger they gave me 3xtra hot I didn't eat my burger and asked for my money back the girl pulled out a fiver then the girl behind her tells her to give me it in 50p

Worst experience of a restaurant in a long time! horrible horrible customer service & the woman that works behind the desk needs her job taken and a dentist. Waiting for 45 minutes after calling before hand for collection, people walking in from the street and getting served food before me that’s waited 45 mins finally got food and while saying I’m not happy about this she just walks away to avoid me ! Got home only to find one portion of chips missing unbelievable worst £36 quid spent and worst franchise owners out there I won’t be back

What is this? The chicken is in a sauce that our kids described as "vomit" aand refused to eat. It tastes like peri-peri mixed with old dried parmesan, sour lemon and a bit of bile; by far the worst peri-peri place I've eaten in. Try it, and see for yourself. Lime and mango is recommended if you really love the taste of your own sick.

Pretty unexciting and boring food. Got the double chicken burger and it was pretty miserable. Spicy rice was just a bit of microwaved packet rice and the sweet potato fries had so much salt on them. Price is definitely good though. Nandos heaps better

Decent quality and portions of food, staff need some customer service training as felt they were a bit not on the ball, restaurant seating is nice enough but the air conditioning is always on so high and cold, it’s freezing in here to sit, but I will recommend this place as it’s good value for money and what you get, and the staff although under trained were friendly enough.

An absolute shambles of a place. Been told Pollockshaws is good though. Firstly I was sitting at table while staff watched for 15mins and eventually said you order at till. Next they couldn't even understand own menu. Next food arrived cold with no cheese or lettuce. Fifteen minutes into it had to ask for our drinks...then asked for a BBQ dip...got some different stuff that was on menu. Thought it was just me until the family next to me said it was the usual at that branch. Then sure enough he didn't get what he ordered or his drinks. Worse place I've been in in all my years. And I'm sorry, but staff are clueless. Don't go

Waited 25 minutes to be told to wait another 10 minutes just to order, when the shop was basically empty. The waitress didn’t have a clue what to do, just left went to kfc.

Worst dining in experience of my life and that’s saying something

Visited tonight for take out. Excellent service and the food was superb.

Went there with cousins and nephew because we were in the area, worst decision ever! Only one waitress infront of house,Wings were not fresh and way over cooked, sauce was terrible, chicken burger was dryer than a flipflop. Drinks were warm and flat, when we asked to change them the waitress didnt know what to do, we eventually decided to get water! never going again! 👎👎👎

I placed an order online to collect in half an hour and drove up to get it. I was then informed that the app isn’t working and the restaurant did not receive any orders. There was no apology from the bloke at the counter. What a total waste of space. On previous occasions I’ve tried to order online but they don’t have any chicken… at a piri piri restaurant. Don’t waste your time with Black Rooster it’s complete amateur hour.

First and last time at this francise and wont be back to this one. Govan far better. firstly order our food. place only had one other table in. another couple came in after us and got there man mountain of food before us! secondly staff member standing at entrance vaping and in and out constantly. Then. what seemed like manager/owner and family is then called a "team meeting".. done nothing but moan, yawn! oh then got our meals to see that staff had added on cheese that was not asked for which we were charged for too. what if i was allergic? cheese isnt part of the burger. when opening burger to see cheese i would have been lucky if the measly bit of tomato that was on my burger was even half a slice!! . over heard owner moaning how they pay £100 a box for ice blast syrup, explains the 3 strands of lettuce and not even half a slice of tomato. would rather go outside my home town to a different BR.

Went in today after reading reviews and got meals for all family which included chicken and rice we opted for hot flavour and it lived up to its name as we were told this would be. Will be back as wife wants extra mild next time

Tried this for the 1st time when going in to collect order were informed 10 minutes till order was ready which seemed fine. Over 30 minutes later before food came out and very dissatisfied with the food chips were cold. Lemon and herb 1/2 chicken the sauce was thick and clumpy chicken was also cold did not eat it all due to it being cold. Quesadilla meal 1 small bit of chicken in each half but each half was filled out with salsa to make it look packed. Chicken burrito also 1 small bit of chicken in it. Has put me off trying any other of these establishments.

I cannot believe the shocking and aggressive way we were treated at this store. The owner has no idea of customer service, and is very rude in his approach. Our order was incorrect to begin with, and we were made to feel as though it was our fault. I will never support this store ever again.

Horrific customer service. The worst I have ever experienced. Highlighted staff to the Diet Coke being flat and lacking flavour and was told 'that's just how it tastes' Seriously? Seems to be staffed by churlish youngsters who don't take their job seriously which reflects badly on the company as a whole. Failure to follow proper procedure with regards to complaints and an apathetic attitude which sours the whole experience. Which is a shame because the food is tasty. However such customer service ensures that I will not be ordering again.

As a person that has frequented many a chicken parlour, I must say this new establishment certainly gets my number 1 slot. Not only is the selection excellent, but the number of different items I’ve decided to order over the past week, each one of them has been delicious. It’s also very affordable, especially in comparison to a well known chain of cheeky competitors, this is great food at a great price. It’s also worth noting that the service I received has been very friendly and welcoming, but at the same time very safety-conscious given the current pandemic. I look forward to being able to grab a pew in the near future as the restaurant interior looks pristine. I also approve of their sustainable packaging, not always do you get a business so evidently passionate about their impact on the environment - if Greta Thunberg ever fancies some take away chicken, from East Kilbride, albeit that does seem unlikely. As I understand it she tries to limit her aero travel given the high levels of carbon emissions the passenger airline industry is responsible for. I’m not entirely convinced that she will make much impact not flying, I have to assume the flights will still happen without her, but I guess that’s the wrong mindset. It’s like when people say “I don’t vote it won’t make a difference”, if everyone thought like that then nobody would vote! Maybe in that scenario I could run for PM. First act of power? Free Black Rooster chicken for everyone!!! (Subject to means testing).

Food was excellent!! Was a fast easy process from ordering online to collection! The staff were very helpful and friendly! Looking forward to going back
