Second time on the trot items have been missed but obviously charged for chips seem chewy/hard plus meat wasn't very nice was very dry not the shops fault but disrespectful parking from customers overall last time I will be using this Establishment

Had a chip cob. The lady serving me was very pleasant but handled the cob instead of using tongues or washing her hands after handling money.The chips all had brown bits on them and I think they were re-hashed from lunchtime. The cob seemed fresh but not many chips for £4.20p. Won't be going back. Dave's place so much better.

The best service in there. Never been in here before as i dont live in this area but 2 lovely ladies served me best service ive had in a takeaway shop. Would recommend decent prices aswell

Ordered a mix meat and it must of been from the night before because abut 3 hours after I finished I got food poisoning and was on the toilet all night, both ends! Avoid!

I have been in here in the recent past and the food was just ok. I only ended up here again because we were running late to be somewhere else. However on this occasion the food was hot and perfectly cooked. The fish was not smelly either which tells me it was fresh. Well done on the improvements,.. you have won me back again.

My sister bought these . From black pearl fish bar . On Southwell road Mansfield … on the 8th may for our tea . Not shore if these were the afternoon one warmed up and sold to us . Or the night before warmed up and sold to us . But they were disgusting 🤢 first time I’ve bought chips here. And what a let down … I won’t be buying from here again … really spoilt the rest of our dinner . We didn’t take them back . Becouse they would probably not care anyway .if they serve you something like this . Says a lot about the people that work there to me . Not a chip shop for me .

Food hot, plentiful and represents good value. First time using them after our move from London. Pleasantly surprised at how used we had been to paying London prices.

Just had food from here, £21 and couldn't eat it. The chips stone cold, the fish only slightly warm and the peas watery and horrible. Will not use again, and I used to swear by this place.

I went in paid £15 for chips cod x 2 and a savaloy. But I only got one cod. The fish and the cod were tasty. Shame I got robbed lol 😆

Just been here for fish and chips and my god. I'd wished I'd drove by. Fish went straight in the bin.tasted like it had been in the warmer 3 weeks. Next time I will go a bit further to Sue's fish bar and get proper fish and chips.

Just had a fish and chip supper, with curry sauce, wow! That was excellent as always, thank you.

Visited today for the first time. Placed order online as I wasn't sure what the best way to order was. Arrived at the place at the time I noted on the order and the food was bagged and wrapped straight away. Quality of the chips was to a very good standard and the standard size portion was MASSIVE! Only reason for not giving a full 5* was the narrow/slim fish. Yes you could argue that it was a Regular Cod rather than a Large but it wasn't as big as many other chip shop regular cod is. Very strong 4+

I've been picking up fish and chips for my elderly mum and her neighbour since they reopened after the March lockdown. Always hot, always delicious, never go anywhere else now.

Waited over 20 minutes for chips and a pie, when we arrived back home the pie was stone cold and had to reheat in the microwave, shocking really as we only live 5 mins from the chippy, tried ringing the chip shop to complain and the number that is on their website is discontinued. Have been here many times before and to be fair the food is worth waiting for until yesterday... also quite pricey compared to other chip shops in the vicinity.

I only have fish & chips about once a month. Last month, cod and a regular chips fed 2. Lots of chips wrapped separately to the fish. Tonight, ordered fish and a regular chips and it came in a box. Not even half the chips I got last time. With a carton of overpriced peas(bearing in mind they are 16p a can from Aldi) I paid £8.40 and we are left hungry. I won't be back in a hurry. May as well eat out to help out - at least I won't have washing up!! Ps there always used to be 2 servers and someone doing the frying. Tonight there was 4 plus the fryer.... and there was still a queue as they were obviously waiting for food that wasn't ready.

Had a wonderful meal at Black pearl the other day. The staffs were very polite and helpful. Will recommend it to anyone who wants to a good deal and food. Will be going back to get more.

As always, excellent. We had just walked out of, in our opinion, a non covid safe La Moda and were pleased to be able to get fish and chips here. Good fish, chips and mushy peas. All well wrapped and very hot when we got them home. We've never been disappointed. In fact, just before lock down we ate at Rick Stein's in Padstow. They weren't a patch on the Black Pearl and much more expensive!

Covid-19 Social Distancing measures in place. 2 people in the shop at any given time. You can phone orders through for collection at a time suitable to you. Card payment preferred. Open as usual. Portions still good quality, price and size.

Appalling customer service! Came In this evening half an hour before close to ask for a burger, only for the older lady behind the till to roll her eyes in my face. Was awkwardly stood there for a while before she started moaning to my girlfriend about how she couldn’t wait to go home and how I’d annoyed her by ordering a burger due to them already turning the machine off right in front of me. Terrible customer service and we definitely won’t ever be going there again nor shall I ever recommend this place, who would make a customer feel bad for ordering what they want?! Awful.

The staff was very nice and Curtis but had to wait for my fish about 10 minutes when I got home it was very greasy but it was still nice thank you
