Master Chef Fish Bar in Mansfield

I've only recently needed to revert to non-home-cooked food, and do particularly enjoy fish along with doner. I ordered with Master Chef twice. I am delighted that they are so polite, friendly and value their patron - I even arrived markedly late to the shop (closed effectively!), nothing was out, and I was still served with real kindness and courtesy. The food was excellent. I cannot not recommend them highly.

What a treat !! I dont have fish and chips bery often as I'm usually disappointed. Not this time, I can honestly say they were the best fish and chips I've ever had including seaside ones. Great portion delivered hot and quickly. Cod cooked to perfection, flaky and juicy. Chips cooked spot on aswell. I think they must have a secret ingredient as I was craving them for breakfast the next day 😋 Thankyou Peter k

Freshly prepared Fish & Chips with very tangy curry sauce, will surely order again.

I wish I could say something good but I can't. The fish looked undercooked and the breading was sticky all over the bottom. The fries looked like they were leftovers from yesterday.

I order it a hour before... the shop is on next Street and it all comes luke warm?..it was awful.. very disappointing.

Paid for a battered sausage and got a normal one, after waiting over 2 hours for delivery I was not happy

This chip shop advertises GLUTEN FREE but know very little about it! On two occasions now they have used the same utensils to do a kebab and then served chips with the same ones, it's cross contamination and could make some body with celiac disease very poorly. Yes it's the chance we take but why should we miss out! don't advertise gluten free when your staff arnt trained! Member of staff who was lovely (not sure if her name was sally or Kelly sorry ) sorted us out with freshly cooked chips. Had to give 1 star to post !!

Absolutely lovely food. Have ordered a couple of times for delivery aswell as going in person to the shop. Very friendly staff, clean shop and good prices. Can highly recommend the Chinese chicken curry (I prefer with rice hubby with chips) and chicken kebab meat is full of flavour too. Have recommended to friends and will definitely be ordering again!

Large variety of food you can order, orders are done quickly and they never forget anything, they double check your orders and are very kind towards customers overall best chippy

Nice clean and modern establishment with very good staff that cope well under the pressure of the weekends. My food was lovely, and that Kelly Kitten is good with the customers as well as the owner who greeted me with a enchanting smile. Much love.

Chips in order where old chips not their usual standard evening staff not as good as when the owners are in charge in the afternoon, everything else that we ordered was good we ordered fish /chips/ mushy peas

I haven't been in the shop but twice I've had fish, chips and peas delivered. The quality of the fish is good, the chips are ok but the main thing is the food is cold. I had to reheat on both occasions which is very disappointing

I’ve never left a review for anything before, but felt I had to with this place. It’s legitimately the best takeaway/chip shop I have been too and probably the best in area hands down. Got a large chips, large gravy and doner kebab last night and it was a straight 10/10 on everything. The kebab is literally the best quality I’ve ever had! It’s made me question if I’d ever actually had a real kebab before! The place looks awesome, it was clean, super professional, price was well worth it, and staff we’re really lovely. Well done everyone involved! A true gem and makes me grateful to live in the Mansfield community!

excellent only comment i could make to improve is the chicken and curry on the amp says chips OR rice like its an option not you get both so was confused but happy to be given both will defo order again thank you

Amazing customer service it was the first time we’ve had chips from here and they were absolutely delicious really generous portion and the battered sausage was one of the best I’ve ever eaten . The owner is really friendly .., definitely would recommend and we will visit again

The most disgusting jacket potato I have ever had in my life. It was cold and who in their right mind sends out a tuna jacket without any butter or mayo. Absolutely vile

You will find them always pleasant no matter how busy or how tired you always be welcomed the food makes it the best takeaway I have ever came across I have 16 years management experience in 5 stars restaurants so I know good food

Waited 5 mins in queue to then be told there's no fish!! No fish, it's a fish and chip shop. I am a regular customer. Will not be going here again. So disappointed, yet the woman who came in after me asked for a fish and she got one!!! What's that all about?????

Always used this chippy but first time been disappointed was late and cold had to put in microwave to warm all food up, hopefully its just a one off has normal really good

always order from here, normally leave a message in the notes to say "no salad on the burger" or "peas,beans, gravy etc with a meal" if there is no option, I forgot so I rang the shop, the lady on the phone was a bit rude tbh, telling me to use the website an choose a option on there instead of justeat!

the small cod fish stunk the house out chips were cold on advert with shawama it says with chips I got more salad a little meat and 7 chips only in a wrap was not happy chicken burger was nice but had to microwave all the chips as they were luk warm wernt hot

We absolutely loved our baked potato's tonight, we had one with beans and cheese and the other with mince meat. Let's just say our plates were completely empty! Great price for portion size, and the man who served me was unbelievably friendly and nice to me along with the other staff. We will be coming back again soon. Thank you.

no fault of delivery driver but food was late, he apologised and said he had been driving all ove.r. when i phoned the restaurant got told oh sorry we ate closed now you will have to ring back tomorrow, even though we ordered the food when they were open and they clearly took the order and money. The food did eventually turn up but I am not happy with the response from the restaurant and won't be ordering again from there.

One of the Best Chippys in Mansfield definitely recommended.

Despite having an 80 minute eta from the time of ordering it was 10 minutes late and I could’ve lived with that if the chips hadn’t been cold! Having waited 90 minutes already, we elected to throw them in the microwave as we were really hungry. Haven’t ordered from here for a long time and don’t think we’ll bother again!

Been here quite a few times, never been disappointed. Staff are really friendly, large fish is cooked to order, don't know about mini fish (who has that anyway?). Word of warning, if you get a kebab on Naan, there's at least two days worth of food there, they're massive. Best chippy in Mansfield.

For me Master Chef Fish Bar is up there with the best, the chips are great, fish is amazing and the hospitality is on another level. I would recommend Master Chef to every body, the best in the area, but don't take my word for it pop in and experience this for yourself! 10/10 👍😋😜

I ordered what I thought would be for bites with chips and gluten free fish with chips, cost £13.70 plus £3 delivery. All I got was a large fish and some fish bites. I’m absolutely shock at the cost of this and it’s just fish. Was recommended to come for the gluten free, but NEVER again it’s seriously well over priced and neither me or my child liked the fish and the batter so done in bin. Stick with the old faithful, least it will be a full meal for that price not just fish. Don’t recommend unless you fancy over priced fish and chips.

Food was lukewarm with half warmed up can of soda. Food was also 15 minutes late. At least they put Salt and Vinegar on the food.

My favourite takeaway, I use these all the time at my work, excellent quality food, decent prices, exceptional service.

Food was cold pie was overcooked and dry they forgot an item in the order so I had to go and get it I got chips donner meat pie and gravy and spent £19.60 defo not worth the money

Such good food! Amazing burgers and chips and curry sauce too 🤤 delivered early but not ridiculously early- just make sure you’re in when you order, or order for a specific time if you’re worried! Because seriously don’t miss out on this food. 10/10
