More of a restaurant than a pub. Didn't have any food but the beer was fine.

I often go here with my family and are always left happy with what we have been served

Small friendly pub. We have eaten there twice so far,( staying in the village). The food has been amazing, cannot fault the place. Sunday lunch was very reasonably priced and excellent quality. Will be returning for at least another couple or three visits

My wife and came here for a dinner we were staying locally, never been here before. I would recommend you book on a Friday and Saturday night. We did not book. We were shown to our table. We both got The pizza. There were lush and huge and chips were delicious. Great night out thank you.

Absolutely beautiful food, small menu but there is something for everyone, even provided us with something we requested which wasn’t on the menu! Will definitely be back to sample a dinner!

Lovely Sunday lunch. It was quite busy but they managed to squeeze us in. Staff were very friendly, and welcoming and the food was delicious. The other customers were great too, the place had such a nice atmosphere. Really pleased we discovered this little gem. Will be returning. I had a beef dinner and a sticky toffee pudding. They were delicious, meet was cooked lovely, fantastic selection of veg. Desert was great too, and a fab selection of drinks *****

Absolutely superb. Best pub around here by a mile. Food is brilliant, Sunday dinner being amazing in particular. Friendly staff and the owner is how all pub landlords should be but aren't. As a result, this place stands out from the rest.

13 of us staying at a local hotel visited the Black Horse on 17/5/23 with a table booked for 1945Hrs. The hosts were really friendly and the food we were served was absolutely superb, with no long breaks between courses. Special shout out to the girl who looked after us, she was amazing. Any opportunity you get please visit, can’t recommend it enough

We have eaten here so many times as a family and have a delicious meal every time. Fish, steak, pizza- we’ve been through the whole menu and everything is always cooked to perfection. Anthony and the team go above and beyond. Can’t recommend enough!

Booked a late Sunday lunch after googling places to visit as not familiar with the area, staff were very friendly and food quality was excellent, would definitely recommend

I read the reviews from other people, and I am not sure if they were fake reviews! The food we had was very little for what we paid. I had a slow cooked lamb shank with vegetables, turns out the lamb shank was tough and the vegetables consisted of 1 potato cut into 3 segments and roasted, with 3 slices of carrot, 1 smal piece of broccoli and 1 slice of courgette which was cut in half. My young daughter enjoyed her a pollo pizza, which was a chicken topped pizza, and my wife had the slow cooked short rib of beef, which was tough as a boot with the same amount of vegetablesas me. Shame really!

Amazing service before we had even booked a table! Although there is no specific vegan option on the menu's I messaged to ask and the chef was willing to make vegan food for each course upon request with a little notice including using vegan alternatives such as vegan cheese. The pizza bases were amazing and you can tell the pasta is homemade. Very reasonably priced, food was excellent and the service was attentive, jokey and friendly in a warm and buzzing atmosphere even on a Thursday night. Will be back very soon😊

Booked a meal for my wife's 50th last Friday for 10 of us. Considering this is a small establishment, the staff and landlord were welcoming and friendly. We had pre booked the food, and all meals including starters arrived all together. All hot and no complaints from any of us. Food is amazing. Highly recommended.

Great place for a Sunday dinner. It's slightly more than some other places but definitely worth it. The beef was cooked perfectly, and the service was quick and efficient. Good value for money, and would definitely recommend to try.

Called in having read reviews, have to say we were very disappointed with the food, have had far better for far less. We won't be calling again. Both main courses were overly salty and one which was a special was practically inedible like rubber. Very disappointed.

Went for an evening meal to celebrate a family event, to sum it up......absolutely brilliant food, great service and an all round great place. I was in 2 minds about sharing this as I want to keep this as my secret place and selfishly not share with anyone, but this would not be fair to the owner, staff and public. Go and enjoy!

Not what I expected from a country pub. Didn't feel very welcoming. A bit disappointed. Was going to book for food but decided not to after having a drink in there.

Very good mussels in a tasty tomato and chilli sauce. Slow cooked beef tender and delicious.

Up in the area for the weekend visiting daughter and husband and had an evening meal in this hostelry. Good choice of ales and wines, interesting menu with additional choices of specials. I do recommend their slow cooked beef, it was excellent. Wife had a turkey special which she thoroughly enjoyed. Daughter and hubby went for pizzas with a good choice of toppings and no complaints. Will come again. Suggest booking as seems to be a very busy dining spot. Friendly and attentive staff.

Excellent Sunday lunch... the roast beef was delicious, the desserts scrumy. We were a party of eight, everyone enjoyed their meals... the friendly service from Francis was spot-on. Great value for money.

Very nice visit starters & sweets but Sunday lunch was a bit disappointing. Chicken was dry & beef was fatty & a bit rare, roasts were a bit undergone & gravy was a bit watery & yorkies were a bit stale. Felt uncomfortable as staff seemed very stiff.

Only stopped for a coffee. Staff were un welcoming and the locals got upset when we stood in front of the tv at the bar. Could be a lot better.

5 stars plus A party of 6 went for dinner, its nicely decorated with the staff friendly and helpful. The food was just superb and I can not state just how good it was, each diner totally enjoyed their food. You need to book to avoid disappointment and to ensure a table.
