This pub was previously an empty shell that had been left lying derelict for several years. When the Black Dog opened it was hella exciting and a complete breath of fresh air for Brentford. There's more taps of beer, ale, bitter and lager than you count (even if you borrow all the fingers from all your friends!), the food is yummy and comes in big portions, the décor is fresh and welcoming without being pretentious and the staff are just super cool and super friendly.
In short, The Black Dog is a huge win for the neighbourhood and an amazing place to hang out with friends while drinking a brew and nom-noming on some quality grub.
Really good example of a modern London independent pub that still feels like a pub. Something the pub groups / breweries never quite get right. Great music. Great staff. Great beer selection. Good wines also. Nice garden. Love the food - sometimes you just need a bloody great big hotdog... We’ve been made to feel like locals since our first visit. Not enough pubs like this in West London. We’ll be back as soon as they reopen.
Great atmosphere, fantastic staff, beautiful food
Been a few times for drinks here, always a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Went yesterday to eat for the first time and was very impressed, ordered pork croquettes and some steaks with chimichurri, and everything was delicious. All staff were very attentive, didn’t need to flag someone down for a drinks order as they were completely on the ball - even during a very busy dinner service! Log fire is also a great feature on winter.
Excellent pub. Had a delicious and generous meat and bean stew. Plus a good range of interesting beers on tap, with a detailed digital menu. Will be returning post-lockdown for sure.
Great atmosphere, food and selection of beers. Highly recommend
The Black Dog is a really lovely little pub in the middle of Brentford. Service is flawless, and a great range of beers and wines. Food is delicious - starters in particular are amazing, and although burger was a little overdone for my liking and the hot dog was OK, but those are minor complaints about an otherwise flawless place.
best pub I've ever visited. Good beer ,food, staff, services ,,everything.
Nice Beer House to get a decent beer and food. A tad pricey but service chirpy and the food were nice. Please tell staff and clean toilets with a nice beer garden, however, tad chilli to take advantage. All in all during this Covid Pandemic a nice experience.
Lovely and cosy spot - we were sat outside but the heaters were great so wasn’t too cold. Great menu, great choice of craft beer and great service! Looking forward to returning.
