Black Country Chippy - Great Bridge in Sandwell

Edited to reply to the shops comment * It was with uber eats last night 6/04 at 8pm, we waited 2 hours it said the shop was 'wrapping up' for 2 hours then cancelled at 10pm when the shop closed . I have worked in food for over 10 years and when we had an order from a delivery company we had to manually accept it in order for the food to be accepted and begin being made, not sure how you would know to cook the food if the delivery driver had to accept it without you knowing? Gutted as first time ordering from this shop as been recommended by friends but got to say this has definitely put us off ordering again. Shame really because it was a £40 order . Would give 0 stars if I could. Waited near on 2 hours for food to be delivered for them to cancel the order. Disgusting service

wrong ordered drenched in sauce what I did have, so disappointed

after receiving my order, which was all there, it was cold. had to put it in the microwave to warm it up. Kebabs were so cold seemed like it was from yesterday's order

food came stone cold. never had a bad meal from there not there fault. delivery was too long. felt the food had been sitting under heat lamp for over 45 mins.

Two of the things were missing from our order Ellie on customer service phone was brilliant however after paying for what you want u should expect it in the delivered order.

Chips rather darker than usual and looked dry. The batter on the Cod was different too- not crispy or bubbly just soft and chewy

Delivery time changed 4 times. Food arrived freezing and stale. I wouldn’t mind but it was a bag of chips, sausage and chips, roe and some sauces - not exactly a trivial order. Don’t bother ordering from here..

Fantastic food but very expensive!

First time ordering. Driver only delivers one bag clearly marked 2 of 2 with the bottle of pop that’s also written on the bag. Obviously the main food in bag one. By the time I managed to liaise with Deliveroo the food we didn’t get had unfortunately gone cold but it looked lovely. So absolutely gutted . Ruined a night in with friends. Personally I find Deliveroo handle queries well. I think the shop and the drivers should be more organised and responsible. I did ring the shop as I was panicking but they just asked me to ring back in 5 mins (which I didn’t bother). So gutted is an understatement we were really looking forward to trying the kebab share box

absolute joke because your busy ok to miss items out than refuse to bring my missing items out,also while on the phone to me decided to mouth off to delivery drivers will not be ordering again.

in my opinion it's overpriced , very overpriced , nearly 50 pound to feed us , never again , it's average at best

Best orange chips I’ve ever had. I will remember them fondly.

Regularly eat here at lunch times. The food is always cooked fresh. The mini fish and chips always tastes amazing. The food on its own is great, but even better with the curry sauce. Highly recommend

not the best loaded fries I've ever had and I'm convinced I ordered mixed kebab meat but only saw lamb, but not bad overall quite testy but a bit to saucy.

First time ever having orange chips as we are not from this area. Very enjoyable indeed.

Nowhere to park, no where to stand inside. As you wait For Order 5 pound for a bag of chips and they didn't even taste anywhere near as good as majors in Bilston. Black Country chippy is More Conserned about image rather than quality of there chips for for 5 pound a bag Good. Luck spotting a. Member of. Staff. With a smile On their face........ Besides that the place has been refurbed, don't know why The standards have dropped. Big time since. Safe to say I won't Be going there again

Food came late and frezzimg cold

Being born and bred in the Black Country this was my second home growing up 🤣. These orange chips to die for . Been coming here since I was 8 years old, I’m now 39! Although I no longer live in great bridge, I always make the effort to have some chips when I’m in the area, yow really cor beat em 😉….Bostin !

love the food & especially the freshly homemade style onion rings can't get enough & i do approve of the price drop on those. As the any other food from here regulars know just how great the food is & only sad thing is the cost of the drinks via the app.

Food arrived but i ordered large mixed kebbab and large chips.Chips ok, but kebbab not even large .I ordered many times and now im really disappointed 😞 .Before it was way more meat for large size

Always nice form here. However this time, ordered a large bag of chips, it’s nearly £8 and it was barely able to split between two people, it was the size of a normal bag. Not very value for money which is a shame cos I have been going to this chippy for 25 years plus!

Great food as normal but very disappointed with delivery. orderd at 18.40 got food at 20.12. always ask for plplenty of salad on kebabs but still hardly any.

Beautiful chippy, especially the red battered chips, scrumptious. Not the cheapest, but it's worth it and there are some good deals/speacials aswell, nice friendly service.

Missing items, 1 hour late and very small portions probably due to food running out, ordered mix meat on a naan with chips and got it on a wrap with no chips and they wrote on my receipt no naan. How pathetic is that rang the shop about 50 times because I was fuming but no answer so what do you do you tell me please.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with this place was so frustrating that I felt compelled to share. First and foremost, the staff were incredibly rude. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was met with dismissive attitudes and eye rolls. Overall, the combination of rude staff and a horrendous delivery experience made this visit unbearable. I won’t be coming back, and I advise others to think twice before ordering from here. Save yourself the trouble and find a place that values its customers!

Messed up my order I asked for loaded Donner chips with buffalo sauce crispy bacon and jalapeños it came with chilli sauce and no jalapeños

Two Battered Sausage Specials came without ordered condiments - missing pot of curry and pot of peas.

Ordered meals on uber waited driver rang to ask if I'd received it I replied no and shop refused to resend as they had given to another driver and on my app still said was preparing. Spoken with shop not nice people told me to sort out myself and waited over hour for nothing

The food was cold, and the wrong drink

Brought just the basic, brought large portion of chips for £4.50 they were oily and no taste at all. Curry sauce for £1.90 had a tangey taste. Very tight space for customers. Parking on the high street is an issue as well.

The portions are smaller than normal not worth the money

food was fresh and tasted really nice. there was an item not available but I was more than happy with substitute (thank you). my only issue was that it took longer than other chippies to arrive, but maybe that's why everything was so fresh. overall, very happy and the kids really enjoyed it

Large portions couldn’t eat it all but quality

Good job I went to the front door the driver was down the road going to the completely wrong house. Food was cold and inedible. So went in the bin waste of £44 won't be ordering again

Kebab and Tikka were not upto the high standard as previous 30 years the quality has been exceptional high. This time it’s was way below average. Maybe time food will be back to normal

Best chippy in the Black Country, ordered cod and chips and sausage and chips, and got 1 free! Reasonably priced and cod was so nice and so were the chips, staff were really nice and gave me a good portion.

What’s happened to Black Country chippy? Chips were greasy and the curry sauce isn’t the same I won’t be ordering again.

Tasty food, good service, but I was disgusted by a child sitting on the table where meals were eaten and having his shoes wiped. And no reaction from parents and staff🫣😞

I really just wish they would give you a come of chips it's so annoying when all you want is a cone but instead I could feed the whole street ... the medium sized fish was disgusting it didn't smell like cod and certainly didn't taste like it at all, I'm tired of spending money for rubbish, so from this point onwards I will not be buying from this restaurant again ... not ever , I have to rely on restaurants with just eat because i don't cook in case of an accident being disabled so it's easier

I am beyond amazed. What an incredible experience. I ordered off Uber eats and the food was beautiful. Not greasy or smelly. The donner was nice. The fish was fabulous. Everything was hot. Presentation was 10/10. Thank you so much.

Really great portions and piping hot chips and curry sauce fish was a large piece do you definitely got your money worth however slightly dissatisfied with the pie meal the pie pastry was hard and chewy so pie must’ve been cooked and stood for hours or overcooked in the microwave was disappointed as the rest of the food we liked

The new battered quorn sausages are amazing. You rarely see good vegetarian options in chip shops. Will have these again, hopefully they're here to stay.

Food was piping hot. Tasted wonderful. The chips brought back so many happy memories 😄 ( yummy).. Everything was so nice I do recommend this place A+++++ 👍

wasn't pleased with the driver who didn't want to bring the food to my front door even tho I explained I wasn't dressed and wasn't well enough to go down to the communal area to collect the food, delivery drivers are supposed to hand the items to you at your front door not to phone and say please come down even tho you pay for a delivery

Had Kebab meat and really greasy chips no tomotoes with the salad , young girl who served me was lovely , pitty about the food

Onion rings were a bit too oily and soft would have liked them more crispy, also did not get any sauce with them but other than that it was fine.

Asian lady served me today very poor customer service with this Pacific person whenever I go in everybody’s normally polite the girls go out of their way with a smile portion sizes are a lot more smaller.( Just put the prices. ) Instead of serving in a medium Box say it’s a large It’s a shame was one of my favourite places to eat I have one just buy where I live by choose to go to the one in great Bridge. When I commented on the boxes look smaller she mumbled ‘well a lot has changed’ under her breath. Very rude. Won’t be going back here.
