Black Country Chippy - Great Bridge in Sandwell

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with this place was so frustrating that I felt compelled to share. First and foremost, the staff were incredibly rude. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was met with dismissive attitudes and eye rolls. Overall, the combination of rude staff and a horrendous delivery experience made this visit unbearable. I won’t be coming back, and I advise others to think twice before ordering from here. Save yourself the trouble and find a place that values its customers!

3rd class food Too much wait time Don't go this store

Ordered meals on uber waited driver rang to ask if I'd received it I replied no and shop refused to resend as they had given to another driver and on my app still said was preparing. Spoken with shop not nice people told me to sort out myself and waited over hour for nothing

Brought just the basic, brought large portion of chips for £4.50 they were oily and no taste at all. Curry sauce for £1.90 had a tangey taste. Very tight space for customers. Parking on the high street is an issue as well.

Food is top quality, pleasant friendly staff. 5* service

very disappointed 2day with my order never had this b4 but the food was cold when arrived sauce was all over the paper I phoned the restaurant spoke to Shannon who couldn't apologise enough but I need to contact yourselves has if the driver has taken other orders and left me till last then its possible the food would be cold very disappointed

Cold … chunks of kebab not cut nice .. hardly no salad

and we never recieved our order after waiting over an hour and half we phoned fish shop about 5/6 times off mobile and house phone to never have them answer.

ordered from here everything was cold n soggy smelt like dirty dishwater made me n my daughter ill never ordering from here again rather starve

What’s happened to Black Country chippy? Chips were greasy and the curry sauce isn’t the same I won’t be ordering again.

Best chippy in the Black Country, ordered cod and chips and sausage and chips, and got 1 free! Reasonably priced and cod was so nice and so were the chips, staff were really nice and gave me a good portion.

Tasty food, good service, but I was disgusted by a child sitting on the table where meals were eaten and having his shoes wiped. And no reaction from parents and staff🫣😞

I really just wish they would give you a come of chips it's so annoying when all you want is a cone but instead I could feed the whole street ... the medium sized fish was disgusting it didn't smell like cod and certainly didn't taste like it at all, I'm tired of spending money for rubbish, so from this point onwards I will not be buying from this restaurant again ... not ever , I have to rely on restaurants with just eat because i don't cook in case of an accident being disabled so it's easier

My fish and chips missing i called them and they said u i didnt order from great bridge call stone cross wen it clearly says on my order its from great bridge

I am beyond amazed. What an incredible experience. I ordered off Uber eats and the food was beautiful. Not greasy or smelly. The donner was nice. The fish was fabulous. Everything was hot. Presentation was 10/10. Thank you so much.

Really great portions and piping hot chips and curry sauce fish was a large piece do you definitely got your money worth however slightly dissatisfied with the pie meal the pie pastry was hard and chewy so pie must’ve been cooked and stood for hours or overcooked in the microwave was disappointed as the rest of the food we liked

The new battered quorn sausages are amazing. You rarely see good vegetarian options in chip shops. Will have these again, hopefully they're here to stay.

Food was piping hot. Tasted wonderful. The chips brought back so many happy memories 😄 ( yummy).. Everything was so nice I do recommend this place A+++++ 👍

wasn't pleased with the driver who didn't want to bring the food to my front door even tho I explained I wasn't dressed and wasn't well enough to go down to the communal area to collect the food, delivery drivers are supposed to hand the items to you at your front door not to phone and say please come down even tho you pay for a delivery

Had Kebab meat and really greasy chips no tomotoes with the salad , young girl who served me was lovely , pitty about the food

Onion rings were a bit too oily and soft would have liked them more crispy, also did not get any sauce with them but other than that it was fine.

Found a little piece of black plastic in kebab

Asian lady served me today very poor customer service with this Pacific person whenever I go in everybody’s normally polite the girls go out of their way with a smile portion sizes are a lot more smaller.( Just put the prices. ) Instead of serving in a medium Box say it’s a large It’s a shame was one of my favourite places to eat I have one just buy where I live by choose to go to the one in great Bridge. When I commented on the boxes look smaller she mumbled ‘well a lot has changed’ under her breath. Very rude. Won’t be going back here.

your driver has disappeared with my food yet your saying its been delivered. so now I'm going to be out of pocket because you'll take the money. Will not be using just eat again. Total shambles.

Food was lovely. I ordered a donna wrap, they send a chicken wrap but was still lovely . This has never happened before and we order alot. Always perfect. Always quick delivery too

Poor service from both the food was cold on delivery and the driver didn't care , I called the restaurant and they said it was not there issue, this is a absolute joke, foods In bin and I will never see that money again, as both companies need closing down

My order arrived but wasn't my order, not drivers fault, correct order receipt was stapled to bag. I rang restaurant who apologised for mix up and said my order obviously went to whose order I had received and to claim full refund. I didn't eat wrong order as I don't like the contents so was over £15 down and nothing to eat. Eventually just eat replied and said I could have refund, then nothing until hours later another email saying couldn't have refund as I did get an order I could consume! I replied several times about the conflicting and unfair decision as not my fault, but still no reply to my complaint or refund, very disappointing service, won't be using or recommending them again. Can't rate food as didn't have any.

Can’t beat the fish and chips from here. No other chippy does better battered chips. Been using this chippy for many years when is used to be queenies. It’s a treat having take out from here. Absolutely fab!

A friend went in for me. The queue was long but worthwhile. I'm in the doghouse for not buying more. As I'm several miles away, I had to reheat my cod and chips. However, 6 mins in the air fryer at 150° was enough to revive the precious parcel of naughtiness. Delicious 😋

I ordered it with ketchup and got it with mint sauce, which I don't like. Another mistake. It was my last order at this place.

Ordered a large mixed meat with chips in the evening and purposely didn’t eat in the day as was looking forward to it. I noticed when I woke up stomach cramps. Thought nothing of it, but 3 days later my stomach is in chronic pain now as well as experiencing fever, diarrhoea all being Gastroenteritis. Never had a problem before from this place as it’s my local, but this experience has put me off all takeaways now. Really disappointed and will not be returning sadly.

This Saturday I went to the shop and ordered large fish for two but was handed a small fish .When I asked the lady she instead of apologising said she gave me large. I had to order two more as it was too small. No salt on chips. The batter was too thick so sticked to paper.. tasteless fish. The food quality has gone down. Won’t be buying fish again there. Only chips were ok. Disappointed as I paid 6.40 something each fish.

We ordered a managers special share box and asked for us to have battered sausages rather then sausages and was abruptly told no can't do this even though the order just before us was able to change the 2 sausages to 2 battered sausgaes, we also ordered the loaded fries and the toppings was wrong and no cheese sauce on any of them.

Got to be one of the worst kebab meats I've ever had I think youve put me off it,no way that was tikka and the Donner meat (more flavour in water) you used to be one of the best chippy s your pro below average at best...

Moved away from great bridge to Nottingham and we always come back here as often as we can. Can't beat proper black country chips. The ones up here as soggy! Deffo one of the best chippies.

Overall good quality of food, temperature and taste were good, but sent me curry sauce instead of mushy peas, and I hate curry sauce. That only issue, would definitely order again from here

After having a mixup with orders just eat driver fault I didn’t have my order after calling the restaurant they apologised on their behalf and told me if I was able to collect it they’d be able to re make the meal piping hot within 10 mins and they were true to their word can’t fault these guys even offered me a free can of pop for my troubles ! Thank you again :)

l really love black country chippie. but sometimes because l live in west bromwich. By the time they've got to me, they are not very warm. if they'd have been cooked before dispatching them they would have been hot. But besides that, everything's brilliant 👍

Always order from here. Food is amazing but the portions seem to be getting smaller. Wr let it go last time but then we we ordered again it was smaller. Shame . Food still nice though

Popped in for some chips very disappointed they were soggy and limp not nice at all I had to throw half the bag away, wouldn't recommend. Better one in bilston a lot better would recommend a visit to bilston
