Black Bull in Gateshead

Totally lost its vibe. Owner concentrates on their other pub. Needs to get back to being a live music venue with a strong community vibe. It has lost this.

Good beer garden overlooking the river tyne

Newly refurbished function room and nice cosy bar. Friendly staff and fast service.

Black sheep bitter is great with great sausage roll. Coal fire. Dogs welcome. And they have a loyalty card scheme.

A sensational boozer: sumptuous traditional fixtures and fittings and top drawer cask.

Lovely chilled Saturday evening outside in nice beer garden . It's so warm and everyone chilled.

Decent pub. Nice house whiskey. We went there after the Blaydon races, so atmosphere was grand. They had live music on which was nice to listen to with a pint.

Excellent beer and one of the best live music venues in the North East.

Lovely, friendly traditional local bar, that is fully dog friendly both inside, and at rear beer garden. Pub quiz on Wednesday evenings and live bands at weekends, make this a busy and popular local drinking spot. Update for March 2022. I have returned back for the first time since Covid and can report the place is just as friendly as ever.

Such a good pub. Good well-kept beers on tap, good selection of spirits and snacks. Always has a friendly atmosphere. Nice beer garden. Normally has music and other events in non-covid times.

Lovely evening, lovely staff. Table service prompt and with a smile. First visit for us since relaxing of restrictions.

Cracking beer garden with the sun all day. Such attentive bar staff, we signed into the book for track and trace, without us knowing they took our initials and wrote them in the foam on the top of our Guiness. From there even with a full garden the table service was so good it meant we were never more than 30 seconds without a beer...a fantastic but dangerous thing :)

Very good atmosphere here, always made to feel welcome. We'll organised with the current restrictions and you never feel overcrowded. Very good selection of beers and lagers.

Currently beer garden only until the rules change but what a lovely quiet place to sit and just enjoy.

A great Pub. Very friendly staff and locals. Wish it was my local Pub!

We were warmly welcomed to this traditional British pub which has been in Blaydon for generations. Beer choice was good not so much choice for wine with only Pinot Grigio on offer as a white. However it was a pleasant tipple and we enjoyed looking at photos of "old Blaydon ". We were recommended to try the beer garden but didn't have time. Friendly staff and an unbeatable selection of crisps.

First time there today. I didn't like it........I loved it! Ale was quality and the clientele were the sort we love to mix with ( good people) Only negative was they don't take cards so bring your cash! Had a great singer on and didn't want to leave but busy days ahead. Not for foodies but if you love good beer, good banter and good music then get yourselves along. Highly recommended ......and we are the most discerning couple in the world. Enjoy guys.

The place as pubs go is not bad, however the drinks are a little to expensive for my taste. So saying that it would probably be a good night out for a change of scenery.

A really nice, warm and friendly pub.3 well kept real ales on at all times with lager and cider available and a good selection of bar snacks. Friendly staff and customers. Regular entertainment on if that's your thing. A roaring real fire keeps the place toasty warm in winter.

A wonderful traditional local pub. Real ale, good people, great atmosphere and amazing range of musicians! Dog friendly is a winner for me and a beautiful beer garden with a fabulous view. Carl and Jackie are wonderful hosts and have created a very welcoming bar with fabulous staff!
