Black and Irons Bar and Grill ltd in Woking

The food here is amazing. The meat dishes were so well cooked and nicely seasoned. Portion sizes are also good. Staff were helpful too. We were here for a birthday meal and this was a really nice treat. On a side note, I also really liked the decor.

I have eaten here multiple times and have never been disappointed, the aesthetic, service and quality is exceptional. I have waiting to try their Breakfast menu and it was marvellous. A fabulous Full English, prepared with the same attention to detail and taste that sets the Dinner menu apart from other restaurants in the area. Simply delightful.

- Food was fresh, well-presented and good quality. The Caesar salad was drenched and soupy with too much dressing to the point the leaves had wilted, but the chicken was tasty. - Service was what you would expect to match the prices on the menu. - Overall experience needs work as after we ordered we were advised that it there were no ribs as they were two hours away from being ready (at 8:30 PM? 🧐). They asked what we would like to accompany fries, and offered Mayo or ketchup. We asked for Mayo. The waiter then came back with a pot of ketchup, saying they were out of Mayo. Perhaps all of it went into my salad, but I would like to point out that there is an open Tesco two doors down who I’m sure carry Mayo (if you really care about justomer retention, just saying…)

What a shambles - worst meal in decades. We booked a table for 8pm , arrived and nobody to meet you1 was left standing in the foyer until a member of staff appeared stinking of cigarettes from the outside! The service was average at the beginning and went rapidly downhill later. We ordered a main course and a bottle of red wine. Wine was ok, apart from the waiter/manager had no etiquette at all - never offered the wine to be tasted, just poured it!!! We ordered a nibble of sourdough bread that arrived with pieces burnt. when we questioned this - we were effectively told that burnt bread is acceptable - totally speechless!! I wanted Sirloin and was told at 8pm on a Saturday night they've sold out- a Steak House😂😂! I settled for a more expensive cut and asked for Ribeye. When it arrived it looked a bit sad. The steak was a total joke, dry and no flavour at all - when I complained, they took the plate away and I was then told we don't know what we are talking about!! This place has no clue of how to treat customers as all. I have never come across such a rude and arrogant bunch of people. Final straw was they over-charged the bill. I'd be very surprised if they stay open. Whoever owns this place needs to a good clear out in the workforce as they are just rude people. Never Never again. To cap it all the restaurant cancelled our pre book to prevent us putting up a review!! We had to complain to Open Table and provide the receipts to allow us to have our say.

I went there on a Saturday night with my wife and two daughters. I have to say the food and service were excellent. The guys worked really hard to make sure everything was perfect. The important details are also great, nice cutlery, napkins, and most important proper wine buckets. Not those silly tubes that do absolutely nothing to cool a bottle of wine. The meu is small but very good, and the wine list is excellent. This place should be packed every Saturday night! Thank you. Oh and by the way the cocktails are pretty special too!
