Catered for our family celebration beautifully! The staff were informative, helpful, attentive and fun! The food was well presented and delicious. The children were given an activity menu and pencils and enjoyed going outside onto the grass between courses. Highly recommended!

A pleasant spot with an interesting selection of wines. I've not tried one of the vending machine bars before and it was nice to be able to taste a wine before diving in to a glass. A bit too easy to spend a bunch of money here though so I'd recommend going with an intended budget.

We went to dinner here last night for our wedding anniversary. The service was impressive and attentive. The food was excellent and hot. We had the calamari and deep fried brie, steak and sea bass, all were delicious. Then we had a chocolate dessert martini, which was scrumptious. I couldn't fault Pierre Bistrot and we will definitely be returning.

It was a shame we had previously had a good meal, this was rather disappointing.

Nice place in a lovely, historic area

I would have given a 5 star for the lovely staff and delicious food if only for that one grumpy lady at reception who looked at me head to toe when we first came in and whose attutide and customer service didn't improve after that. Made me feel judged and unwelcome hence the 3 stars.

This was a fabulous outing in classic French cooking. It may be a chain restaurant but it’s done so well. I had steak frites which were as authentic as amazing. The service was outstanding and Gordon is the waiter you want to serve you. He was absolutely impeccable and even the neighbouring tables commented how good he was. Prices are very reasonable and the setting is gorgeous. I will be coming back especially as they do incredibly good 2 and 3 course menus. Well done Bistro Pierre.

The food as the venue was amazing and some of the nicest food I’ve eaten. Staff all polite and helpful. My only small grumble was first course too main course was super speedy and then a little wait for our dessert. Worth the wait and did allow our main course to go down a bit and could enjoy a good chat. But would prefer a little more of an equal break between each course. Could just be me and for that to be the only compliant from someone who’s worked in hospitality for 15 years says a lot

Had a really lovely meal, food was excellent and the service was really good especially as they were very busy.

Lovely food the staff are top notch.

We chose a bench table on the green at first as we had our dogs with us and it was the only seating in the sun. Went to order food but it turns out you can't have food or drinks there which rather perplexed us as they had Pierre logos on. We moved table and ordered food, coffee, hot chocolate, a cider and juice. The drinks were fine except the hot chocolate which tasted like warm milk and looked very pale. The dauphinoise potatoes were a nice consistency but very much lacking salt, garlic or well, any flavour. The halloumi burgers were the saving grace as we actually enjoyed them but the chips weren't home made or even a good quality. I ate there around 5 years ago and it was lovely but I feel it's gone down hill a lot since then.

We ate very well. It's hearty and the pot au chocolat is excellent. The service is very good. 1 English Liliane and 2 French.

The food was lovely, I couldn't fault it. It was quite pricey but to be expected due to the location. The front of house staff did not seem friendly at all which was disappointing. Rather than feeling welcomed you are almost stopped at the door by someone who looked very grumpy! The coffee machine was broken too which I understand can happen but we should have been informed about this before we ordered our food. A smile and a hello goes a long way to make people feel welcomed.

I had heard good things about the food here, however I was shocked that I was not served breakfast and the general manager’s reason for this was that breakfast closed at half 10 (I got there at least half an hour before), this was nowhere mentioned on the menu. Unfortunately he came across as rather rude, I asked if I can get brunch and the only option he gave me was just pastries, no explanation.

Visited with my brother whilst my Mum was in hospital. Turned up on Sunday at around 8.30pm, made to feel very unwelcome by Erica who told us that they weren’t accepting any tables due to kitchen maintenance. Went back on Monday and met again by a very unwelcoming Erica. Arrived at 7.30pm, told that no tables available- plenty visible. Told to come back at 8.30pm. Asked if we could wait in the (empty) bar area and have a drink. Was told that she was serving the bar and due to staff shortages and that there would be a very long wait. We took our money elsewhere.

We arrived and sat outside as it was a super warm evening. Tried to order drinks from the QR scanner on the table - gave up after three attempts and went to order inside. (We were told the scanners don't work). Took a while for anyone to acknowledge us, but then ordered drinks - good deal on cocktails before 7pm. The food here was generally good, but the service was not. We waited so long for any service at all. The server was very pleasant and amenable when she did arrive, but it took so long to get our order taken. 😔 Good choice on the menu, though.

Lovely restaurant, amazing location in the Royal Willam dockyard...

Have eaten here numerous times and usually really enjoy ourselves, however today we were greeted by an exceptionally rude member of staff on front of house. The lady was muttering under her breathe andmade us feel extremely uncomfortable. They said they were short staffed which is unavoidable and understandable however I would never expect to be spoken to the way we were after asking if we could sit and have a drink before our table was prepared. Even withessed other customers talking about the same experience.

Lovely experience at this restaurant! I went back in February and kept meaning to write a review. Me and my partner felt very at ease and it was great food and atmosphere!

Food and service are fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and they are always smiling.

I was told that there are lots of branches and the first was in Nottingham, but this was my first experience. Excellent service and good food, all for a reasonable price. The location in the old naval yard is also very interesting.

We had a chance to try the new menu launch. The food of the tasters was overcooked and not nice, glad i didn't have to pay. I will not put bad reviews if it's a one time visit but every year i give them another chance with a visit and is as bad. If i am not disappointed in the menu, is the service level. With the exception of the manager or whatever she is( as sour as can be, no manners welcoming customers and walking around with a fed up face..occasionally throwing a fake smile) the rest of the staff are nice very pleasant ( the young ones still unexperienced but trying their best). On sunny days if the place is packed they are overwhelmed and no customer service. The place is well catered for an older audience, family parties etc. Is a shame as they have a great location. i have been in hospitality for over a decade and is a shame that chains like this do not take pride in proper training. i know some people would say yes but the taster menu was free, YES but i spent 1.5h trying bad food and ended up hungry and tired having dinner afterwards in another place.

I went to Pierre's today with friends and my toddler. I haven't been in a while but was so pleased with the service even when it was very busy. They were very accommodating to my toddler which is absolutely so welcome and what makes me want to return somewhere! Low wait times, extremely helpful staff and food was perfect. Thanks guys 👌🏻

We arrived to a dour looking manager not a good start. We reserved a table by the window but that didn't happen. We waited one and a half hours for ourr food to be served. When it finally arrived the chicken was dry as if sitting around under heat, the roast beef was about the same. The roast potatoes were soggy not crisp at all.. I feel the food and the service were an awful experience. We have been here many times before and have to say previous experiences have been good. I will think twice about going back.

Really special lunch made perfect by the staff helping two elderly giving them time and respect.

A Friday lunchtime so not very busy. Excellent service, great food, slightly patronising young man who wanted to explain the menu to us!!

Cracking dining experience in the historic Royal William Yard. Excellent food served by friendly and attentive staff. They couldn’t have been more helpful.

This was the 2nd visit to this chain but another location. Since the 1st visit I'd heard about a few complaints. I was surprised so paid attention to these points by other guides. I've checked the bathrooms as there was a problem reported. I didn't find any problem not to say something was amiss at another time. See photos. However the problems with "service" did exist hence the loss of stars. Waiters seem to disappear even when told we had been waiting too long. The head chief had to shout for service of our desserts in a very loud voice & seemed angry. The other guide described our experience so we see a kinck in the service area. I'll leave readers to study the various reports. Shame as the food here was very good. We will go again to this chain but will be watching.

Manager unwilling to listen to customer complaint and unwilling to see customers point of view . I ask the question are your phone calls recorded ? if so you would be able to see I was being genuine in my conversation . Also the managers response to my review was a complete fabrication of events .

Lovely food but to add on service charge and vat amounting to £45 is wrong

Too expensive for what it is in my opinion. Food was OK. The place was nothing special. Don’t like the tip added on to the bill automatically - if you want a tip, reduce the menu prices. Don’t like that it is cashless.

Absolutely shocking customer service . Booked and confirmed a table for Mother’s Day breakfast for 9.30 am . Gdynia way was closed by PCC so there was a diversion in place called twice to explain I was stuck in traffic was told to still come in but would only have table till 11.30 am . Parked and paid made it to the restaurant for 9.55 and was told my table was no longer available, no apology I was bluntly told by the manager it was my fault for arriving late even though I was told by there staff on the phone to still come on in . Another manager also felt the need to step in and confront me , Mother’s Day ruined . Have taken large groups to dine in there before but will never step foot in there again .

Food took over an hour to arrive & wasn't correct!! Also not hot enough!! Too long when children are dining!! Very loud atmosphere because there where too many people in there at the same time!! I've been eating in Pierres for many years and this was my worse experience!! Will not return & not recommend this eatery to anyone!!

Go there often would thoroughly recommend picture is vanilla pana cotta with berry compote it was my birthday so they put a candle on it. Also free bottle of wine on birthday. Excellent all round food service and atmosphere 👌

My mum and I had a lovely meal and all the staff were wonderful. She had a little fall on her way in and the young lady who welcomed us was very helpful and caring. We enjoyed a couple of cocktails aswell as a fabulous meal. Thanks everyone x

Love Bistrot Pierre, great menus and pretty good value.

Too busy too packed in. Problem was the two largest tables were late arriving, which threw our table out. We waited an hour for our starters and an hour for our main.

The steak was a fillet steak and was the nicest one I've ever eaten. The dessert and starter was almost amazing. The service was timely and the experience was magical for my wife and myself. Fully recommended.

This visit was a bit disappointing. They had run out of a few items. The starters we had were small, pigs in blankets were very undercooked. You used to get complimentary bread but this is now longer provided. We ordered a bread board and given a warm baton which was partially cut so had to cut ourselves. The mains were nice. We usually all really enjoy this but felt a little disappointed on this occasion.

Place requires you to pay by car which excludes vulnerable people, elderly people, people without bank accounts, people who’ve got cash as a present and people like myself who just simply prefer using cash to budget. Will not be returning. Food is decent.

I have been here several times, the service is always good and tonight was no exception. Nice buzzy atmosphere, food is good except for the chips that are tiny and salty, but that’s my opinion, everything else is great and good value for money.

Spent our Christmas meal evening here… First and last time…waiting an hour for starters is not good enough. Then nearly another hour for our main meal… dessert was about the best of the 3 courses. Only gave 4 stars for service as our server Luzio was such a lovely friendly smiley guy. We were told by another server the reason we had to wait soo long was because a large group arrived 30mins late…bearing in mind just how we were packed in they should have been refused service.

Been here many times before but tonight was dreadful. Came here for our daughter's birthday as it's her favourite place to go Had our starters within a decent time and they were very nice although portion sizes were small. Then we waited over an hour for our mains after several prompts asking waiting staff where our mains were. Mains were disappointing. The duck was very dry and the beans were congealed. The fillet steaks that my daughter and I had were chewy with grizzly bits. Then the manager basically telling us we only waited 35 minutes . That was the point they realised they hadn't put our order through ! For the price you pay for the food you expect much better. Very disappointed which is a shame because we have never had an experience like it before. Will i return? No A real shame Food: 1/ 5

This is a very nice and relaxing place to sit and enjoy a great meal.

I visited Pierre’s yesterday with my family and we enquired whether they took cash or not. All establishments should take cash as its legal tender, but they said they did not take it. The place itself at lunchtime when we arrived, was pretty much empty. Just after we mentioned that we wanted to pay with cash, the woman who we talked to suddenly and abruptly announced, ‘Actually, we’re fully booked.’ It was obvious she had decided to get rid of us. I think it is ridiculous that some restaurants and businesses no longer take cash, which is something they can’t really legally do. I will not be eating in Pierre’s again as they were rude and abrupt, and obviously don’t want business.

Very nice indeed! Had the smoked haddock and it was truly delicious!

Had a very good meal this afternoon for my mother in laws birthday. The lovely man that served our table was brilliant, very chatty and we had a good laugh with him and was knowledgeable on the dishes and knew what to recommend. Unfortunately forgot his name, we did have a good chat with him and he was originally from Brazil. Food was hot, presented well and very tasty. The dessert pictured was paris-brest. The atmosphere there is very relaxing and the restaurant was spacious. We all had a good mixture of choices and everyone was very happy.

The Thai and Keralan curries were very tasty with strong flavours. Service was good except that a couple of extra items were mistakenly delivered that had not been ordered. Atmosphere ok as the pub has been renovated recently.

I just popped in for a late continental breakfast with hot chocolate and a croissant. I was too late for a croissant - next time - but i took the opportunity to look at all the menus and will certainly be back for lunch / dinner. Looking forward to it. The serveuse was also very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great introduction to Bistrot Pierre! À bientôt.

On Tuesday 10th October my elderly mum and I had popped in for lunch. The food was great as always but this post is about the wonderful service. When the waiter noticed that I had cut my mum’s food for and that she was using a spoon to eat with (as she shakes a little too much for a fork), he popped over and touching her shoulder very kindly asked if everything was ok. So sweet and sensitive of him to take the time to ask her. Thank you so much!

Dropped in for lunch and had a lovely 2 course meal and beer for £21.45 incl 20% tip. Great location and plenty of easy to pay parking.

Been here many times before but last night was dreadful, an hour between sitting down and actually getting our starters is in my mind unacceptable, at least the starters were fair but another half an hour until the mains came to the table which were disappointing, my partners chicken was overcooked and very dry and my dish had literally a smear of sauce For the price you pay for the food you expect much better (plus a slightly bigger portion) Food quality has definitely dropped along with portion size yet food prices have definitely increased along with waiting times Will i return? No A real shame

Overpriced, undersized portions... depends on what you order but you could spend £50 and still be hungry. So disappointed with the cheeky hidden service charge! That's called a tip and it is the customers call. Absolutely shocking fishcakes, never again. Terrible.

Lovely little place me and my family ate at today to celebrate my Sister graduating. Loved my ice cream I had for dessert, enjoyed my burger too. Everyone in the family loved the food they had ordered.

Bistro Pierre made me pay £157 twice for my familys meal saying the first payment hadn’t gone through. They were totally unhelpful about recovering the double payment. Both payments were debited from my account. I spoke to my bank who gave me a code for them to reverse the second They claimed they couldn’t use the code and had no way of reversing the second payment. which would be re credited to my account several days later. Unacceptable. Shan’t go there again.

Once again we took friends from Brisbane Australia for lunch today and they were impressed with the quality of the food & the service from Gordy. My husband is in a wheelchair & Gordy gave excellent service & looked after us. Looking forward to returning in two weeks time with other friends.

6 ladies and 4 little ladies visited for afternoon tea. Absolutely wonderful time 💗 service was exemplary, all staff very helpful, friendly and smiley. Looking forward to coming back!

Amazing meal out, the food was incredible and according to my Grandma had no faults (she is very critical usually)!!! The star of the show was definitely Luzio, who was an incredible server and made our meal even better. I can’t praise him enough! We can’t wait to come again!!!

Came down for lunch while visiting the area and was pleasantly surprised. Food was plentiful and tasted very fresh, especially the seafood. Bonus - Toilets were very posh and clean. Will definitely return when we next visit!

Loved was able to sit inside the bar area with a dog never done this before but had fench atmosphere no less.

The calamari was overcooked difficult to even cut with a knife and fork. My rump steak was good but my friend's sirloin was almost 50% gristle. We were given 2 desserts in compensation after a "discussion" with the waiter

Both the food and service were excellent. Highly recommend.
