Lovely welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, quick service even though it was busy but above all delicious food!! Very good value for money too - the dish I chose was half a chicken and it was so big I asked for a dish to take some of it home! Gluten free foods are clearly marked on the menu with several dishes including desserts to choose from. It was so good we are going back again exactly a week later this coming weekend for a birthday meal!

Mother’s Day meal ruined, sat at bar with pushchairs with no explanation as to why not seated in restaurant. Expressed concerns via App and direct e mail but to date no response, been a regular customer since they opened, quite a few years ago, guess no one cares any more about customer service 🥺

Always a good destination. Food quality excellent. Service excellent. When busy, it can be a bit " echoey" which can be frustrating for people like me, who's hearing struggles on occasion!

Had an amazing dine experience with friends this evening. Fantastic place, great food, perfect atmosphere and the customer service can’t say anything negative highly satisfactory! All our needs and demands has been met beyond expectation. Staff on the floor come time to time to check at our table if we want anything more or we need assistance. We weren’t ready to order but he (Staff Sam) came back attentively and assisted us timely, we didn’t have to wait longer. Have tried their steak, so good - you must not miss at all! They also have an appealing luscious dessert menu to choose from. Additionally to highlight the drinks menu especially alcoholic beverages they offer a lot of options and they also offer hot drinks. A recommended place - will surely come back to this place. They have offers for future upcoming events. Lastly, the toilets are very clean and they have a huge mirror! If you keep coming back to the restaurant I suggest download their app to save points and can be use to spend later.

Just had a birthday lunch here with my wife today. We opted for a three course set menu. Ordered some mocktails, too. The waiting staff was really friendly, professional and attentive. After leading us to the table we were offered complimentary choice of still or sparkling water. The food was excellent. Every course was a delight. Although the steak I ordered originally medium, it came somewhere between rare and medium rare, still delicious. The calamari starter and baked camembert were amazing. Very reasonably priced, especially their set menus and set in nice location. Definitely recommend. And will be back myself for some more treats from the menu.

The general manager over here is not open to hearing complaints. He is very rude and very argumentative.

Had the 2 for £20 breakfast deal. Food was lovely ,huge portions, cooked to perfection. Staff very friendly & couldn't do enough for you. Love coming here & will definitely be returning soon.

Came here for my birthday lunch and the food was amazing and shockingly under-priced considering how amazing the food was, the atmosphere and also the good service! Would definitely recommend going here for lunch or dinner!!

Bistrot Pierre is a relatively clean presentable establishment with attentive staff. However, the cost of the drink I had even taking into account overheads, location, and and staff wages was obscene I paid £8.50 for soft drink it would have been cheaper to drink wine. I didn't order any because I don't drink alcohol. This makes me very reluctant to return. Addendum I appreciate that there is non-alcoholic alternatives, lager, beer etc, however, this is not the style of drink I prefer. Also I think it's a bit presumptuous to end your response with a cheery 'see you soon'

A very pleasant place with a cozy atmosphere where you can have a good time. The food is delicious, well prepared, although the menu does not have any special gastronomic delights - everything is quite classic and understandable. The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh and the presentation is neat. Service at a high level: the staff is polite, attentive and always ready to help, but at the same time unobtrusive. This is an excellent choice for a relaxing dinner with friends or family, as well as for a business meeting. The prices correspond to the quality, so the visit leaves only positive emotions.

Lovely festive ambience in the restaurant and friendly staff. Only problem is I feel £15.95 for 5 small pieces of tortellini is a rip off. I was still hungry after this and compared to other menu items of a similar price it is not value for money in terms of the food received. It was also very, very oily. There’s other restaurants in Plymouth where £12-£14 will get you a huge, filling bowl of delicious pasta.

70 of us for xmas meal..well done..food yummy and wine and not too much trouble.. would of been nice to goto bar but private party on!!

I would have given a 5 star for the lovely staff and delicious food if only for that one grumpy lady at reception who looked at me head to toe when we first came in and whose attitude and customer service didn't improve after that. Made me feel judged and unwelcome hence the 3 stars.

Great food and incredible service.

The food here was incredible. And the nicest desserts we have ever had. The crème brule in particular. Everything tasted great and homemade.

A loverly place to visit for a meal. Just try to NOT book a table with Office Christmas meals. They don't talk, just shout. The staff are really polite , friendly and respectful. It's always a joy to book a meal there as the atmosphere is perfect. The food is well cooked and in decent proportions and reasonably priced. Payment is card only. Which makes things easier for most. I personally ALWAYS compliment the chefs for good food and service, plus a decent Tip which is always deserved in my opinion. This is our favourite restaurant in a beautiful location in the Royal William Yard.

We’ve been here multiple times for food, but tonight was extremely lovely. The place was done up so beautifully for Christmas, staff were super polite (as usual!) food was quick to come out and it was amazing. Would probably say it’s the best steak I’ve had in Plymouth as it was a lovely cut and cooked perfectly! We love coming here for special occasions and tonight topped it more than usual. Thank you to the team for always making it a lovely evening

A Saturday lunch for five. Lovely surroundings with perfect staff and lovely food, all at a reasonable price. What more can one ask.

It's been a while since we've visited Bistrot Pierre, but because it was someone's birthday and a beautiful morning, we thought we'd enjoy a (2 4 1) late breakfast before going off to the cinema next door. They apologised when we arrived on our booked table, that due to being extremely busy with this special offer, they had run out of bacon and minute steak which was a shame, as you would expect the kitchen to get the basic supplies in, when you are promoting a special offer! Anyway, the no bacon, didn't cause us any problems as we thoroughly enjoyed everything we did receive and would thoroughly recommend here for breakfast, maybe the next time we visit we will book a little earlier.

Breakfast is well cooked, however, on the odd occasion it hasn't been hot enough. A tiny bit overpriced if comparing price v quality in area, but Great value when they have two for one offers. Lovely surroundings incl outside seating area. Great coffee.

Extremely average food. I watched in pain as my poorly constructed burger sat under a heat lamp for 15 minutes before the rest of the parties meal was ready. Wouldn’t come back.

The best meal out we've ever had! Went there for our wedding anniversary. They were short staffed but the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. The food was fantastic! The flavours were outstanding and food was presented well. Will definitely be back!

Visited here late September 24 while down seeing some friends - had a lovely meal. Very good selection on the menu - service was great and food was fantastic - honestly could not fault anything at all - would definitely come back for sure 👍🏼👍🏼

Loved was able to sit inside the bar area with a dog never done this before but had fench atmosphere no less.

We went for my husbands birthday and sat outside. All good and happy with the 10% service charge included.

4pm on a Saturday - drinks didn't arrive until after our starter even though only a maximum of 4 tables in use in whole restaurant. When we asked the waiter if he didn't mind checking where they were he replied 'the bar maid is on her break so probably why they are taking longer' - no apology / didn't go and chase them up. Sourdough with starter was burnt and the main was tasteless. Worst mojito I've ever had - again tasteless. We didn't bother with dessert and asked to remove the added service charge it was that much of a disappointment. Huge waste of money, really gutted as we don't get to go out much and was looking forward to this place.

Catered for our family celebration beautifully! The staff were informative, helpful, attentive and fun! The food was well presented and delicious. The children were given an activity menu and pencils and enjoyed going outside onto the grass between courses. Highly recommended!

A pleasant spot with an interesting selection of wines. I've not tried one of the vending machine bars before and it was nice to be able to taste a wine before diving in to a glass. A bit too easy to spend a bunch of money here though so I'd recommend going with an intended budget.

We went to dinner here last night for our wedding anniversary. The service was impressive and attentive. The food was excellent and hot. We had the calamari and deep fried brie, steak and sea bass, all were delicious. Then we had a chocolate dessert martini, which was scrumptious. I couldn't fault Pierre Bistrot and we will definitely be returning.

It was a shame we had previously had a good meal, this was rather disappointing.

Nice place in a lovely, historic area

This was a fabulous outing in classic French cooking. It may be a chain restaurant but it’s done so well. I had steak frites which were as authentic as amazing. The service was outstanding and Gordon is the waiter you want to serve you. He was absolutely impeccable and even the neighbouring tables commented how good he was. Prices are very reasonable and the setting is gorgeous. I will be coming back especially as they do incredibly good 2 and 3 course menus. Well done Bistro Pierre.

The food as the venue was amazing and some of the nicest food I’ve eaten. Staff all polite and helpful. My only small grumble was first course too main course was super speedy and then a little wait for our dessert. Worth the wait and did allow our main course to go down a bit and could enjoy a good chat. But would prefer a little more of an equal break between each course. Could just be me and for that to be the only compliant from someone who’s worked in hospitality for 15 years says a lot

Had a really lovely meal, food was excellent and the service was really good especially as they were very busy.

Lovely food the staff are top notch.

We chose a bench table on the green at first as we had our dogs with us and it was the only seating in the sun. Went to order food but it turns out you can't have food or drinks there which rather perplexed us as they had Pierre logos on. We moved table and ordered food, coffee, hot chocolate, a cider and juice. The drinks were fine except the hot chocolate which tasted like warm milk and looked very pale. The dauphinoise potatoes were a nice consistency but very much lacking salt, garlic or well, any flavour. The halloumi burgers were the saving grace as we actually enjoyed them but the chips weren't home made or even a good quality. I ate there around 5 years ago and it was lovely but I feel it's gone down hill a lot since then.

Food was fairly good, service fine and good value overall. Not sure I will be returning following it's recent food hygiene review.

We ate very well. It's hearty and the pot au chocolat is excellent. The service is very good. 1 English Liliane and 2 French.

The food was lovely, I couldn't fault it. It was quite pricey but to be expected due to the location. The front of house staff did not seem friendly at all which was disappointing. Rather than feeling welcomed you are almost stopped at the door by someone who looked very grumpy! The coffee machine was broken too which I understand can happen but we should have been informed about this before we ordered our food. A smile and a hello goes a long way to make people feel welcomed.

I had heard good things about the food here, however I was shocked that I was not served breakfast and the general manager’s reason for this was that breakfast closed at half 10 (I got there at least half an hour before), this was nowhere mentioned on the menu. Unfortunately he came across as rather rude, I asked if I can get brunch and the only option he gave me was just pastries, no explanation.

Visited with my brother whilst my Mum was in hospital. Turned up on Sunday at around 8.30pm, made to feel very unwelcome by Erica who told us that they weren’t accepting any tables due to kitchen maintenance. Went back on Monday and met again by a very unwelcoming Erica. Arrived at 7.30pm, told that no tables available- plenty visible. Told to come back at 8.30pm. Asked if we could wait in the (empty) bar area and have a drink. Was told that she was serving the bar and due to staff shortages and that there would be a very long wait. We took our money elsewhere.

We arrived and sat outside as it was a super warm evening. Tried to order drinks from the QR scanner on the table - gave up after three attempts and went to order inside. (We were told the scanners don't work). Took a while for anyone to acknowledge us, but then ordered drinks - good deal on cocktails before 7pm. The food here was generally good, but the service was not. We waited so long for any service at all. The server was very pleasant and amenable when she did arrive, but it took so long to get our order taken. 😔 Good choice on the menu, though.

Lovely restaurant, amazing location in the Royal Willam dockyard...

Have eaten here numerous times and usually really enjoy ourselves, however today we were greeted by an exceptionally rude member of staff on front of house. The lady was muttering under her breathe andmade us feel extremely uncomfortable. They said they were short staffed which is unavoidable and understandable however I would never expect to be spoken to the way we were after asking if we could sit and have a drink before our table was prepared. Even withessed other customers talking about the same experience.

Lovely experience at this restaurant! I went back in February and kept meaning to write a review. Me and my partner felt very at ease and it was great food and atmosphere!

I was told that there are lots of branches and the first was in Nottingham, but this was my first experience. Excellent service and good food, all for a reasonable price. The location in the old naval yard is also very interesting.

We had a chance to try the new menu launch. The food of the tasters was overcooked and not nice, glad i didn't have to pay. I will not put bad reviews if it's a one time visit but every year i give them another chance with a visit and is as bad. If i am not disappointed in the menu, is the service level. With the exception of the manager or whatever she is( as sour as can be, no manners welcoming customers and walking around with a fed up face..occasionally throwing a fake smile) the rest of the staff are nice very pleasant ( the young ones still unexperienced but trying their best). On sunny days if the place is packed they are overwhelmed and no customer service. The place is well catered for an older audience, family parties etc. Is a shame as they have a great location. i have been in hospitality for over a decade and is a shame that chains like this do not take pride in proper training. i know some people would say yes but the taster menu was free, YES but i spent 1.5h trying bad food and ended up hungry and tired having dinner afterwards in another place.

I went to Pierre's today with friends and my toddler. I haven't been in a while but was so pleased with the service even when it was very busy. They were very accommodating to my toddler which is absolutely so welcome and what makes me want to return somewhere! Low wait times, extremely helpful staff and food was perfect. Thanks guys 👌🏻

We arrived to a dour looking manager not a good start. We reserved a table by the window but that didn't happen. We waited one and a half hours for ourr food to be served. When it finally arrived the chicken was dry as if sitting around under heat, the roast beef was about the same. The roast potatoes were soggy not crisp at all.. I feel the food and the service were an awful experience. We have been here many times before and have to say previous experiences have been good. I will think twice about going back.

Cracking dining experience in the historic Royal William Yard. Excellent food served by friendly and attentive staff. They couldn’t have been more helpful.

This was the 2nd visit to this chain but another location. Since the 1st visit I'd heard about a few complaints. I was surprised so paid attention to these points by other guides. I've checked the bathrooms as there was a problem reported. I didn't find any problem not to say something was amiss at another time. See photos. However the problems with "service" did exist hence the loss of stars. Waiters seem to disappear even when told we had been waiting too long. The head chief had to shout for service of our desserts in a very loud voice & seemed angry. The other guide described our experience so we see a kinck in the service area. I'll leave readers to study the various reports. Shame as the food here was very good. We will go again to this chain but will be watching.

Manager unwilling to listen to customer complaint and unwilling to see customers point of view . I ask the question are your phone calls recorded ? if so you would be able to see I was being genuine in my conversation . Also the managers response to my review was a complete fabrication of events .

Food took over an hour to arrive & wasn't correct!! Also not hot enough!! Too long when children are dining!! Very loud atmosphere because there where too many people in there at the same time!! I've been eating in Pierres for many years and this was my worse experience!! Will not return & not recommend this eatery to anyone!!

Absolutely shocking customer service . Booked and confirmed a table for Mother’s Day breakfast for 9.30 am . Gdynia way was closed by PCC so there was a diversion in place called twice to explain I was stuck in traffic was told to still come in but would only have table till 11.30 am . Parked and paid made it to the restaurant for 9.55 and was told my table was no longer available, no apology I was bluntly told by the manager it was my fault for arriving late even though I was told by there staff on the phone to still come on in . Another manager also felt the need to step in and confront me , Mother’s Day ruined . Have taken large groups to dine in there before but will never step foot in there again .

Lovely food but to add on service charge and vat amounting to £45 is wrong

Too expensive for what it is in my opinion. Food was OK. The place was nothing special. Don’t like the tip added on to the bill automatically - if you want a tip, reduce the menu prices. Don’t like that it is cashless.

Busier than our previous visit and we felt the meal was not as good.

Great place to eat. Atmosphere amazing. Food outstanding and the service is second to none. Highly Highly recommended
