Very tasty food, well presented. Two young ladies front of house were very pleasant and helpful… but yes there’s a BUT. It was so cold, not at all cosy. Might try it again but if its still cold that’s it. Shame cos it’s handy and the food is good

I visit High Trees on a regular basis, but after going on Sunday, never again. The Chef was having a massive argument with a member of staff, me and a few other visitors just sat there really embarrassed. It was really unprofessional. I had a very long wait for my food and when it arrived it wasn't up to the usual standard. Not sure what is going on as they don't seem to have the usual high standard of food and the sandwiches on a lunchtime look like they were from a supermarket. Not nice at all. High Trees used to be lovely, not sure if the chef is new but things really need to improve before me and my friends go again.

I came in the other day with my family, lovley two girls on the front, quick service on making our large drinks order However when I came to order food things became a problem including kitchen difficulty’s When the food finally arrived (30 minutes late) It was lacking the quality I anticipated as I’ve visited this cafe previously and never had anything to complain about with the food. Despite the girls on the front putting up a professional act, they looked exhausted but still used manners and be polite despite the other member of staff working. Overall this has made a new impression on me and I won’t find myself bringing me nor my family back anytime soon

Totally disappointed, had voucher for afternoon tea, rang and booked, although the girl who took booking was a bit flaky, but she spoke to another member of staff who confirmed she could take booking. Today rang to confirm booking for this afternoon and told nothing in diary and chef did not have stuff in to do it for us. Had been looking forward to going all week, so terrible customer service although I can't say what the food is like

The two young girls at the front were friendly and took our order My grandsons meal arrived fairly timely along with our drinks so far so good However we then had an horrendous wait of over half an hour while we had to listen to an intense argument from the kitchens We asked when our meals would be ready and were asked to reconfirm our order. We asked if we could have our money back but were advised our meals were being cooked so agreed to stay. Eventually my wife’s meal arrived followed eventually by mine several minutes after The only plus was that the meals were good when they arrived but surely they should all arrive together and not while we had to listen to highly unprofessional behaviour by a female member of the staff behind the scenes. I did feel sorry for the young girls who had to suffer the dissatisfaction of ourselves and three other diners for matters that were beyond their control. We won’t be returning and would suggest that to avoid disappointment you avoid this establishment

I went to get some plants and was told that the café was open, so thought I would have something to eat. What a great place, very friendly staff nothing was to much trouble, great menu. Had a full English!!!!! The best I have had in ages, I will be back to try the rest of the menu It's great to see an independent garage centre instead of a group one where you can buy everything except plants

We've been coming here for years. The Cafe has been taken over & it was their first day today. We ordered a bacon & egg sandwich and a sausage sandwich plus tea. The food arrived before the tea. I had to ask for the tea 3 times & when it did arrive there was no milk. My mums egg & bacon was covered in black bits. My sausages had been squashed not sliced in two and one was raw. I took it back & they did apologise and refund. I then had to wait another 20mins for a pre buttered toasted tea cake the size of a crumpet. Which was oddly served in a bowl. Really disappointed bearing in mind the great breakfasts we've had in the past. A lot of the other customers seemed to know the owner which may have caused the delays.

Never had a bad afternoon tea anywhere until we visited this place. Not surprising we were the only people there - the actual sandwiches-tiny cakes were ok - but the cup of tea?! We sat at our table, two cups (not a pot) arrived - we slowly drank it, well finished by the time the ‘food’ came after 20 mi utes - we asked for more tea and the member of staff seemed surprised and said ‘you’ve already had it!’ No more tea was forthcoming. Just unbelievable. The Garden centre itself is poor and scruffy and as for the ‘Posh Tat’ area - it would be a lot better having afternoon next to the council tip Never again - just dreadful

Writing this review whilst still sat in the cafe. We ordered hot drinks and cake for our party and one of the cakes ordered was a piece of poppinc candy and chocolate orange brownie. It had hair in it and so we mentioned it and it was replaced. The second piece ALSO had hair in it. We returned the cake and this time asked for a refund. I suggested that considering that 2 out of 2 piece of brownie contained hair baked into the mixture that they should really dispose of the rest that is on sale. They have not done this though. Bathrooms are unpleasant, unclean and don't have any toilet paper in them. Tables are not clean - we had to ask for ours to be cleaned before our order was brought out. The waitress cleaned part of the table but left half of it unwiped with spills and crumbs from the last people still on the table. This was our first visit and I don't think that we will be giving the place another chance as clearly health and safety is a bit of an issue here and we prefer to visit places that are clean and hygienic. Shame as it was supposed to be an early Father's Day treat for my dad. My daughter also tried to use the play equipment outside and put £1 into the ride and it didn't work.

Called here for breakfast whilst passing . Place is clean and staff polite but £10.95 for a full English breakfast is one if the most expensive I have had in long time. even including a hot drink and toast. The Ivy in Leeds city centre is only about ,£12.99 for a full English. Breakfast poor. over cooked sausage and far too many beans that I assume to fill the plate up .butter that with came with toast frozen rock hard and totally useless at spreading on the toast .as stated earlier I was only passing so won't have to returning any time soon. luckily

Which was a bit hash has I have read people had top ups of drinks and so did we when I came the first time . I had a Groupon voucher for an Afternoon Tea so we visited here last Friday. I have never been here before and was surprised to see how big the garden center is. When we arrived at the restaurant we were told to sit wherever we liked. A lot of the tables were waiting to be cleared so it looked a bit untidy. We were surprised that they had plastic flowers and plants throughout the restaurant with it being a garden center and them selling live plants. The restaurant looked tired and dated and the tables and chairs were quite shabby and it had a musty smell about it. We were asked what drinks we would like and offered a choice of sandwiches and bread. We asked for a selection and, after a short wait, we were brought a large wooden frame with a great selection of sandwiches and cakes. The sandwiches were really nice and tasted very fresh. We had a bowl of crisps to share and a small pork pie each. There was a lovely selection of cakes and a scone with jam and clotted cream. We were so full after all the sandwiches and cakes and thought the offer was very good value for money. It was a little disappointing that not once did anyone come over to ask if everything was OK nor were we offered a top up drink. We had to go to the counter and asked if we could have another couple of coffees which they did bring over but it would have been nice had someone come over and asked if we would like anything else. I don’t think I will return, even though it was very good value for money, because the place is quite tired and dated and the lack of attention by the staff.

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to an afternoon tea and we were not at all disappointed. The café was very well set out, the staff were extremely attentive, the presentation of the afternoon tea was really neat and special, and all the food served was of the highest quality. The food was presented on a miniature picnic table. There was the added extra of a portion of salad and a bowl of crisps to have with your sandwiches and the bread and fillings were plentiful, fresh and tasty. I was absolutely stuffed and needed a doggy box to take a couple of my cakes home with me. I will certainly book again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue for a special afternoon tea treat.

Ambience pleasant, comfortable and felt covid-safe but the food was a shocker. The only savoury dishes available were breakfast wraps, a narrow range of sandwiches and sweet potato chips. The chips were cooked well. At £7.99 the breakfast wrap was well-stuffed and looked good, but the wrap itself was tough, bacon overcooked and hard, sausage too salty. The scrambled egg and baked beans were its only redeeming features. Cup of tea was good. Victoria sponge was over-sweet. Texture OK but had too much butter icing. Overpriced at £3.99.

Lovely garden centre with a large selection of merchandise. After a good look around, we dropped in for a pot of tea. We managed to resist the mouth watering cakes, but noticed others enjoying afternoon tea. There was plenty of space both inside and outside to rest with a beverage, and somewhere for youngsters to let off steam. Not far from Leeds Bradford Airport, at least here it doesn't cost to park!

I visited the cafe today and was thoroughly disappointed. My first choice is generally a fruit scone with jam and fresh cream. However, I saw the cream scone in the display cabinet and decided not to bother. The cream was yellow ! The scones were in the cabinet with the jam & cream already in them. I like to put my own jam and cream in them. I ordered a latte. It appeared to be one of those machine that you put a cup under and just push a button, very disapointing. It left a horrible taste in my mouth. There were no cakes there that tempted me. I won't visit the cafe again unless things change drastically.

We visited today and were told the electric was off making it hard to make some things, they handled it well telling us what we could have and we're apologetic. Was a bit cold but we have been here before the cafe was relocated and...

We are frequent visitors to the coffee shop which is accessed through the rather antiquated garden centre. There is now a table service and the staff are pleasant and attentive. The food is traditional and good value. Well worth a visit, the centre is situated...

The young man that served us was really pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. When in the area will definitely call again.

Previously the only fault was the size of this venue. Not so now . The kitchen alone must be bigger than the original site at the front off the garden centre. Now a slightly longer walk takes you to a massive, in comparison , seating...

Despite being really short staffed on a bank holiday, they were all cheerful and working to their best ability. A little more organisation would have helped, maybe we arrived just after a busy spell. The food was tasty, and well presented. The staff young and...

A very nice lunch. Good portions and nicely presented. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The place is large and airy and the tables are nicely spaced. I was a bit disappointed with the nursery gardens, most plants were past their best but we're...

We called principally for the garden centre but whilst there had a teacake and coffee. Not much can be said about these meagre items they were both about average. However it would appear that the whole place is having a makeover and as a consequence...

Tucked away in a corner of the High Tree Garden Centre you will find this little gem of a coffee place. A short menu offers variety of homemade treats. The cakes and the coffee are the best you can find in Leeds, and we have...

Lovely little 'bolt hole for a hot or cold snack with outside eating area- if the weather nice. Often pop in for a quick cuppa and a few plants!

Lovely food (kind of pub food style) and lovely to sit outside on a sunny day. Great for kids as the micro pigs are nearby as are the goldfish. Small children's play area and a little pond add to the atmosphere. VERY warm indoors on...

We’ve just been to the art gallery café for lunch we won’t be going back. They sell scones but they’ve run out of jam What kind of business can’t even organise going to the shop and getting a pot of jam. Leeds city council should be ashamed of themselves.

I took a walk to the bakery to see if they supplied fresh bread. I checked the opening hours and when I arrived it was closed. Wasted journey. Looks a nice place from the outside though.

A large, airy and light-filled pub (for a change) with plenty of outside seating near the City Museum- a short hop from culture to chaos! The young workers were efficient, very hard-working and helpful. What is distinctive about this place (and its saving-grace) is that it has a sufficient number of students to keep the place on an ‘even keel’ (for example, talk of Trump’s superior IQ is, mercifully, rare). TOP TIPS: (1) choose outside or gallery seating for a relatively blissful experience ; (2) in general, choose a Spoons having a reasonably high proportion of students (albeit with a modicum of immaturity and ‘lively’ behaviour). In this way, relative sanity and intellect may well prevail.
