This was our annual family visit to London with 10 of us this year! We were not disappointed with the attentive service and as always the menu offers lots of choice for all of us. See you next year!!

We are used to Cote in Paris and Geneva but London was a disappointment from start to finish. We asked the Manager for a table. He checked in both rooms and gave us a table in the middle of the main room just under the Aircon. When we asked if there is another table available he gave us an empty table in the second room which was already free when we entered. Why not from the beginning? We ordered a meal which was on the menu outside. The manager, already pissed and unfriendly explained this dish is only available during lunch, should be specified. 4 pieces of Bread and Butter was charged 4.5 pounds! Never ever paid for bread in a restaurant. The steak was thin and hard like a shoe sole. Service was very poor. I still had my last bite in the mouth when they took the plates and asked if we wished a dessert. To charge a service fee for this is unacceptable. When we asked to pay, their machine didn’t work properly. The manager showed up and asked if WE have a problem with the payment. Fun. The problem of this location is clearly identified. Will only go again when solved.

We booked for dinner and explained that 2 of our party were in wheelchairs and we were assured that the restaurant was fully accessible including the toilets. Unfortunately, this was not the case as there are two steps from the dining area to the "accessible" toilet, which meant they could not be used by wheelchair users.

Cannot fault this place. They accommodated 17 of us for my daughter’s hen party. They were happy to take our booking when other restaurants in the Theatre district wouldn’t. Prices are very reasonable and the food is excellent. Very friendly and efficient staff, we would definitely return if visiting London again

Usually enjoyed dining at Cote but sadly our experience at this location was extremely disappointing. Service felt rushed from the outset, the waitress never advised of any specials etc nor the fact that the Bon Prix menu was still available as we were dining before 5pm. The waitress did follow up on food allergy which had been highlighted in my booking and did go through the allergen check list with me albeit hurriedly. The starters arrived very quickly, I was a bit disappointed with the cheese soufflé which was lacking in flavour and not to the usual standard that I’ve enjoyed previously. The mains also came relatively quickly however my husband’s confit duck was lukewarm and the accompanying cabbage/ sauce stone cold. We informed the waitress, initially no apology was forthcoming, she took it away but didn’t return for some time during which I ate my meal. A replacement arrived, but I was left sat looking at my empty plate whilst my husband ate his meal. Finally the waitress came and asked if the meal was hot etc, at which point we made it very clear we were unhappy with the service etc. and she went away without saying anything at all - or removing my empty plate! The manager then decided to come and speak with us, to as he said ‘ do what I can to make sure we were happy’ but to be honest this was very much a case of ‘ too late now ‘ in our opinion and when the waitress then returned to apologise and offer complimentary drinks, desserts etc we politely declined and asked for the bill. We never saw or spoke to the manager again, the bill excluded my husband’s meal but included the service charge which we asked her to remove. Overall a disappointing experience , we definitely won’t return to this particular restaurant ( have eaten there before and not been very impressed) the final thing that put us off was seeing the state of the toilets before we left ( not very clean) and being able to see into the adjacent kitchen ( again rather off putting )

I booked a table a week in advance, booked easy online. When we arrived at the restaurant it was clear we needed to book as it was packed. Although service was at time’s a bit slow, our waiter was friendly. Our meals were tasty. I especially enjoyed the crab mayonnaise which was delicious. My ribeye steak was cooked to my taste. I would return and recommend the restaurant.

We enjoyed a pre-theatre lunch which was good quality and good value. Such a restaurant is highly formulaic and standardised as expected from a chain but in its consistency lies its strength. Patrons should expect a reliable experience which provides satisfaction without anything being outstanding . Very busy place as one might anticipate for popular touristic locstion.

After a matinee theatre trip wanted a meal before catching train back home. Usually very satisfied with Cote Brasseries but this was a bit disappointing. They fitted us in as we hadn’t booked but said we had to finish the meal in 40 minutes! The tables were crowded together so we could easily hear conversation on next table, one of the items we chose was unavailable and portions were extremely small. I appreciate we went for the two courses for£16.95 menu but even so the plates were minimal,a piece of bread with the warm beetroot salad would have been good..Beware of a12.5% service charge added to bill( this is optional).

Starter was Mussels. Found a rock(The size of a mussel) in my dish and virtually no sauce.Main was Pork loin ( size of a post-it cut into 3) the vegetable bed was nice though.Had a side of Tomato salad which was just a tomato sliced and 2 leaves of basil torn in half and thrown on.It is clear that there is no chef in these establishments and rather it arrives from central warehouse and is just heated through and the staff (all very attentive and welcoming - a huge plus) actually have no understanding of the foods they are delivering. Mussels should have enough sauce to dunk into. Tomato salad has onions (or shallots) , salt , pepper , herbs. Lazy lazy lazy.

Having eaten here on a previous occasion when we were short on time, we were interested in repeating the experience and we weren’t disappointed. The restaurant was full on a Tuesday night at about 7.30 and we hadn’t booked a table but we were lucky and our table was in a quiet corner. Our meals were thoroughly enjoyable (cassoulet and fish stew) and we felt it was good value for money. We settled on sharing a dessert and washed it all down with a bottle of wine. I have eaten here twice. Unfortunately. Both times as a guest with no input on venue. Steak tartare starter had a worryingly odd taste - the meat rather than the condiments. Cassoulet was unforgivably awful - how is it possible to have tasteless bird meat in something like cassoulet? The beans were dry, old specimens. Clearly a dish that had been left on the boil. Steak frites? The frites were passable. Maybe it is going downhill. I always heard good things about Côte - but due to the fact I had two such abysmal experience here a couple of months apart, I felt something had to be said.

Popped in for a lunch. Ordered the mushroom risotto and the mushroom crepes from the light bite section of the menu. Hubby wasn’t impressed with the risotto as he said it was too stodgy and dry. Looked like it had been precooked and rewarmed in the microwave. My crepes were delicious and blisteringly hot.The staff were pleasant and polite but didn’t seem genuinely friendly and were on autopilot. However my main gripe was the behaviour of the staff. We were never asked how our meal was, never offered further drinks and after we refused a dessert menu we weren’t asked if we would like the bill. We then sat there for ages trying to catch someone’s attention for the bill. Having given up we went and loitered by the till and were pointedly ignored. We stood there for a bit watching every diner being thanked profusely for their custom and with a ‘see you again’ as they exited. One staff member finally made as if he was going to seat us when I stopped him and told him I just wanted to pay. He caught the server that had been allocated to us. He promptly took our payment and left the card and receipt on the metal tray with a ‘there’s your card and receipt’ before dashing off to server a bigger and obviously more affluent/bigger party. No ‘thank you’ or ‘see you again’ for us. Wish I’d never tipped him but there you go. I normally tip as I know servers get horrendously busy and don’t get paid much - wish I hadn’t now.

Considering the location and the competition this is an amazing restaurant, chain restaurants like this one do differ from site to site despite having similar menus and for me this is the best one I have eat at. Food is standard bistro fare but great fresh ingredients , well cooked means you ain't going to go far wrong. Went for a family reunion and had a great relaxed afternoon , service efficient , friendly and professional. Had two bottles of wine and so no complaints on a price tag of £35 a head . If i was going to have a moan charging £2.45 extra for some bread was ridiculous ( nearly all restaurants i go to offer that for free ) but in the grand scheme of things a really good eating location in the centre of town and i have eat a lot worst food at Bistros in France !

I’ve always thought Cote meaning ‘side’ in French is an unduly modest name for a restaurant chain which, since its inception in 2007, has become a central feature of so many High Streets up and down the country. Whereas Cafe Rouge is a mere pastiche of a French cafe by comparison whilst Pierre Victoire, as a nationwide phenomenon, was defeated almost as soon as it had started, Cote Brasserie as a French bistro is the real deal. It always has plenty of menus and offers to choose from. An a la carte is updated seasonally. There are two set menus one featuring plats rapides such as steak minute or a half chicken and frites representing exceptionally good value. There are monthly specials. We took advantage of an offer featuring a complimentary sidecar aperitif (Cointreau, courvoisier snd lemon juice) per order of starter and main from the a la carte. We shared a charcuterie plate generously filled with pieces of savoy ham, smoked duck breast, saucisson sec, a pot of duck rillettes and cornichons) plus gravadlax with cream and capons. For mains my wife was entirely satisfied with her poulet grille; my cassoulet from the specials list with duck wings, lardons, and sausages on a bed of beans in a tomato sauce was one of the most accomplished I’ve had anywhere including France. My daughter’s fish goujons with frites and a little pot of peas and broccoli was a good choice for her. The only downside of this Covent Garden branch was the section we were in had a low ceiling on which sound ricoched such that it was at times difficult to hear conversation.

I’d booked a table online for 14 people. There had been numerous emails and I’d also spoken to the restaurant on the telephone. On arrival, the waiter seemed to know nothing about the booking. He showed us to the table and it was sometime before we saw him again. He was unfriendly, unhelpful and personally I would not have paid the service charge. I didn’t enjoy the starter, but it was a bad choice on my part. However, the main meal was different. I specifically asked for my steak to have no blood! There seemed to be a real communication problem. My steak was raw and the chips were cold! By this point I couldn’t be bothered to make a fuss. I use Cotes restaurants a lot, but quite frankly today was appalling

Six of us met up here for lunch this week (not the same six that you might read in another of my reviews from this week - I do get around). The set menus are really good value at £15.95 for three courses. House wine is £17.50 which is OK but I notice that it’s only 12.5% ABV which all house wines appear to be wherever you go. Keeps it cheap, I guess.I had the croquette of pork and smokey bacon with a poached egg and Hollandaise sauce for starter. I’d always thought of the “croquette” as cylindrical, which these were not. However, a quick check on Google just now, confirms they could be flat or even rounded like a ball. It was a very nice meal, whatever shape it was. For the main course I had steak frites. Last time I was in this restaurant, my steak was poor, but I recall that was the more expensive ribeye steak. The steak in “steak and frites” is much thinner and less likely to go wrong. This was just right with a nice pot of frites.Colleagues had the Lamb Parmentier (Shepherd’s Pie to the rest of us). It came with plenty of lamb and carrot within but was still served with a large side plate of whole, cooked carrots. Fine, if you are a carrot lover, I suppose. For dessert I had the frozen berries with warm, white chocolate sauce. It was very good. All in all, I am pretty certain that all six of us really enjoyed the meal. Service was good and our seating position was also good.Highly recommended.

The Cote chain soldiers on, being the shining light in the middle-market, chain restaurants that are being heavily squeezed in the UK restaurant scene. There are some pretty awful restaurants in the tourist hotspot of Covent Garden (and a few decent ones). Cote is always reliable. Broadly French in theme, style and food, they ‘deliver the goods’ in terms of a balance of quality, choice and price. They have several menu choices, including excellent set menus at £16.95 and £13.95 and a pretty decent kids menu too. The à la cart menu is also good value and I do a good trade in breakfast and brunch. The all French wine list is also notably good value that I could do with a better selection of red wines by the glass.A sizeable lunch with my son came to £50 but that included deserts and two glasses of wine for me. My steak was very good and Thomas’s fish and chips and peas very nice.Okay, you couldn’t really call it haute cuisine or gastronomic but in terms of being able to eat out in London and get reasonable quality in return for a reasonable price, Cote takes some beating. Really nice staff too. Well done.

Very cute french bistro on St. Martin's lane convenient to many theaters, but not what you'd call a tourist trap restaurant. Their pre-set menu has several options for 2 or 3 course dinners. They have 2 price fixed, one for 15.99 (2 course) and one for 19.99 (2 course). The steak frites was tender but needed some more seasoning, and it's a flat pounded steak, as opposed to a skirt steak or entrecote cut.

If you want to taste in this place it is important to make a reservation to have a table and pleasant space. My husband and I walked around the area and decided to see if there were tables available and there was only in the basement which we did not dislike because we were already very hungry. We ordered the 3-course menu and a delicious bottle of Grand Vin Château Des Gravières Wine .The service is of excellent quality, everything arrived hot and at its point, a pleasant and noisy environment for being weekend but happy. Not daily is the same menu which makes it very attractive and visited. Congratulations to the chef and his team. I will be back soon.

We are visiting London and brought our family to this restaurant. We waited 45 minutes for our meals to arrive only to find out that The chef lost half of our ticket. It took another 40 minutes for half of our family to get their meals. The waiter ignored us and would not make eye contact while this was occurring and that made the situation even worse. It could not have been worse. We arrived at 8:00 and left at 10:45

We went here recently for breakfast, and we very impressed. The menu is extensive, and the quality of the food was excellent. My husband had the full English, and I had a Continental style breakfast. It hit the right spot perfectly. The service was friendly and prompt. Great position for mooching around Covent Garden. We will definitely be back on our next trip to London, and probably try dinner there too.

We went into the restaurant on a very wet and busy Friday night without booking in advance. The very welcoming staff explained they only had one table available but it was tight due to a large party. The table was great and in no way impacted on our experience. Both the set menu and the A la Carte looked great value for money. We decided to eat from the set menu and I have too say that without fail every taste was fantastic. It was fresh, tasty, plentiful and served with pure professionalism. It was a pleasure to watch all of the staff attend to all customers in such a high class way despite the restaurant being fully booked. A lot of restaurants could learn from staff standards in this wonderful restaurant. If we had been in London longer I’m Sure we would have returned.

Service was attentive although technology sometimes conspired against the waitress. It was a little disapointing to have two dishes "unavailable" from the lunch set menu but otherwise the food was well received by all. We were a party of 8 and one starter arrived much later than the others but all main courses and desserts were correct. The food and wine were of reasonable quality and the restaurant, whislt quite empty, had a chilled out ambiance on a humid day. Unfortuantley the wifi wasnt working, however, I'd visit again.

We stopped here for a late brunch after a long train journey. Ordered the full English breakfast. Table was very small so we struggled to find space for things after asking for preserves. Cooked breakfast ok, preserves really nice. Good glass of juice, tea and coffee cool and pretty disappointing. Ok for £11 but service charge added which made it £26 for two people. Hate this practice of adding it making it embarrassing to opt out.

Wow! What an amazing evening. First my polo club won the regional championships and then we went to COTE in haywards HEATH To celebrate. Fantastic service. We got served by a lovely young lady named Elijah I think. Made our experience so reasonable and even agreed to join in the after meal celebrations with the polo club. Good food too, I had the side salad

Took the early pre theatre dinner menu. Excellent choice of food. Good service and food hot. It’s advisable to prebook as restaurant very busy which makes it noisy. Tables very close together. Needs some TLC as on some of the walls have torn wallpaper and look scruffy.

Have eaten at in lots of Cote’s before but to be honest this isn’t the best. Staff not friendly don’t make you feel welcome to be, at times thought it was a chore. Ordered some of the things I normally enjoy. Bread garlic bread always a nice start when you think over what you want to eat. Garlic bread was great but bread and butter was stale. Starters were fine nothing to write home about. I had the pork belly for main and friend had seafood stew that was great but pork was cold. When did mention this it was as if I had started world war 3. The manager even came and informed me I had eaten some of it. I did explain it was warm on the outside but cold in the middle. The did replace it. Funny thing was when I got it back it was the same size as the pice I hadn’t eaten. The new pice of pork was very very warm maybe a little to warm. Have to say the crackling was the best I’ve had in a long time though. The pork was like burnt ends underneath but the middle was perfect. I will not be back or look to recommend anyone to go. Specially when there are so many great places to eat in the area.

Sunday late afternoon, 5pm, we didn't book. Very nice, relaxed, pre-show dinner without feeling rushed. Staff very quick and helpful. Gin and tonic cocktail with lavender very quaffable. Starters and main excellent but the "Praline Crepe" was gorgeous, lots of praline! Bill very reasonable.

Love the Cote menu anyway I do not believe it has changed in years and why should it, great food love the Prawn gratinee starter, as always lots of staff on hand who were all friendly, and helpful, the only downside is that they used to do a warm baguette bread which they have now changed to cold sliced bread which is nice and fresh but no where near as nice.

When in London we return time and time again to this fabulous restaurant. The food is to die for. We always invite our friends to join us, and they say the same the, it's the best they've had for a long time. The service, food, atmosphere and drinks are fantastic. Thoroughly recommend a visit. And it's in a great spot.

Last evening we went as a group friends 9 in total to the restaurant. The quality and the quantity of food was poor. When we complained to one of the member of stuff, asking to see the manager or chef, no one came to us to explain or apologise! Definitely Won't go back ever again. ☹

El diseño del café era bastante algo. ¡Las mejores notas! Buen comienzo para el día. El personal es amable y, como se puede ver en el diseño, se ocupan de su café.
