Amazing environment, interesting place to study, receptive tutors

Hi I want to be a student at the birmingham city uni for a marketing course but still I have some doubts so plz anyone studying rightnow could give me brief about it is being like there I would be really grateful for the breif thank you

Poorly organised lectures for the PGCE . I share a lot of the same views as someone else wrote about this course further down. Others on course also said lectures were unorganised. For what youre paying its a raw deal.Some staff members turned up to lectures talking negatively about the lack of organisation. No diversity in staff in this specific department (white). I raised this issue with a senior staff member about cultural differences as I couldn't relate to any of them, i was dismissed and gaslit and told it was diverse because there were different genders white male and white female (yet still staff members were white). Classes were boring and not adapted to changing environment. Wouldn't reccomend.

They deserve zero star 😡😡😡the people are working there have got zero experience shame for bcu 😡😡😡😡

Hosts Faculty of Health sciences: courses like Master of Public Health et al. Also short courses like Neonatal nursing courses…

New starters department absolutely useless as still wasn’t enrolled after 9 weeks 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Don’t come here for PGCE unrecognised

No place for parents to go when coming for a interview with my daughter was told to sit in the foyer after a two hour drive with no access to any facilities would not recommend to others

Excellent university with amazing staff, students and be prepared to study.

I'm doing my PGCE here. The course is so unorganised and poor. The teachers communication is bad and don't let you know in time about assignments and follow up. Also, they send you to schools for training which require improvements and are one of the worst schools for Ofsted. Top of that, university does not offer any support for students and don't let you park your park even though they have enough parking. As a result, a female like me does not feel safe walking to university.

We went for the open day. I have to say it was brilliantly run, really well organised and everybody we met was so helpful. Undoubtedly gone near the top of the list. Organisation was the key to this day. We have visited other Uni's and just not felt the same "feel" we felt here. Well done BCU.

Great uni to go to. Nicely situated near the city centre, plenty of transport routes. Lovely building, a nice environment to learn and develop in. 😊

Lovely large campus. Well kitted out for training. Staff are friendly with a warm atmosphere.

Very impressed with open day. Warm welcome from all and talks were interesting and informative. Great buildings in leafy Birmingham. A massive thumbs up from us all.

Such a serene environment to study, cool off and grab the best of skills. Proudly a student here!

Beautiful uni and brand new facilities

Went for an open day. The lectures were very helpful.

Very impressed with the site, staff, facilities and educational offerings. The food and drink options and also tasty with Starbucks, Costa and pizzeria. Close enough to the city for a night out, but far enough to be quieter with an urban feel.

Bent over backwards for me nothing was to much for them to do to make sure I was good the all day

Before the pandemic it was great and vibrant. Unfortunately the student experience is somewhat non-existent. Booking a library slot is important if you hope to loan books or use study space. Covid protocols has led to the university smelling like a hospital, which is reassuring. There are also sanitising items everywhere so no need to worry, you can wipe down surfaces before and after use. Can't wait for some normalcy to return. Post pandemic, masks are optional and are still available at the front desk.

A clean and well furnished study space

Great building makes for a joyful learning experience, but staff aren't the most supportive.

The staff are managing the building well for Covid, there is a testing station for all staff, students and contractors, all is well

I study here currently, great environment surrounded by greenery. Wide variety of courses to chose from if you are thinking about furthering your education

A good and supportive university, beautiful building and plenty of space to study. However the technology is often faulty, if the internet isn’t down it’s the printers or the laptops. Also communication between course directors and students is lacking which results in disorganisation. The staff are friendly though and they’re willing to help with any issue. It’s just sometimes difficult to do work when you’re having to overcome obstacle after obstacle which could have been avoided with improved maintenance or communication

I didn't enjoy my studying there very much. It's very crowded all the time with students everywhere, almost impossible to find a quiet place to eat or talk. Even studying's difficult as there aren't many quiet corners in the library, where you wouldn't be disturbed by loud talking/laughing/hanging out of young students. I usually took most of my studying back home.... I should also mention car park situation, which is non existent, but I think it's underway to be completed in couple of years' time. Until then - park on a road 20min walking distance or they offer to pay discounted parking in Plaza, which's 20min walk as well! ha Don't think I'll be coming back any time soon. I'd find more serious University for studying in future.

A very nice university for nurse training with plenty of facilities to aid in learning but is sometimes let down by its IT.
