Really upset I couldn't give this place a higher rating, the food was amazing, when it arrived. Went in for lunch with the kids and it took 50 minutes for the burgers to arrive when the restaurant was relatively empty. Halfe the drinks menu was missing/out of stock and had to select drinks from a sad array of cans stacked on a shelf. The Staff were pleasant enough, but extremely over priced and pretentious for what it is.

We were the only people in the restaurant...should have realised that was a red flag. Tables were sticky, no basic condiments, food was edible which is why the 2 stars. Things we wanted to order weren't available. Food was comparable to a chicken burger from a kebab shop on a 1am walk home (but that would be half the price). Toilets were dirty with no loo roll or anywhere to dry hands after washing them.... hopefully the staff have their own facilities because they would surely notice this when washing their hands.....wait!?

Disappointed. Looked very promising from the outside. Drinks were poor, we payed £2 for tap water. Food took ages to come, looked amazing but the taste was otherwise. Chips were crispy but you can tell they don’t change the oil at all. The burger was lacking flavour, felt like i was eating sauce. No ketchup or mayo available. Looked dirty inside the kitchen, i definitely wouldn’t go again.

This is the worst organization i ever worked. They make you work and at the end of the day they don't give you salary. And when you try to contact management they don't answer the calls or messages. Arrived on a quiet Tuesday lunch and was rewarded by slow service and a criminally dry fried chicken breast burger.

Went to get a burger here at around 7pm. The restaurant was quiet and unbusy. Ordered a classic chicken burger and a Seoul style one with chips and drinks. Drink turned up quickly, as ordered, by the friendly staff. Burgers and chips turned up later. Stone cold. Chips were like cardboard. Went to the woman at the till and told her. She took them away to get them recooked. I got back the smallest piece of chicken I have ever seen in a burger that cost £9. Disappointing place.

Worse place I have ever eaten. Only 1 staff member. 1 hr 10min wait for food. 22mins before I got my drink. No basic toiletries. Washed hands in cols water no paper towels to dry them when asked for hand towels told to use napkins as run out. This place should no have been opened. Disgusting!!!

Couldn’t fault the lovely staff, but the food was diabolical, the chicken tasted like bad fish, all of the food looked triple fried and not in a good way, the onion rings were rock solid and inedible, the chicken burger tasted like fish and was congealed. my partner started vomiting 2 hours after eating here, we now know why it’s always empty 😟

It's always empty when we walk past, thought we would give it a try. Went in and sat down at 19:50. Cleared dirty glasses etc from previous diners. Selected our food and went to the bar to order, to be told the chef has just said not to take any more orders. We can see why it's always empty. We won't be trying to eat there again.

Really terrible. Ordered a burger and wings, the burger was thankfully cooked but the wings were raw. They had clearly left a new member of staff to fend for herself at the front with no one helping her and no training because she just didn't know how to handle it and vanished to find someone, I was left unsure if they were making a new meal or how it was being handled. Eventually I did get a replacement and the kitchen clearly were unsure of their skills because previously the wings were all very large and the replacement looked as though they were the smallest they could find. Obviously I was a little paranoid and checking each wing but they were cooked. We were given a refund for that meal, but I absolutely won't be going back. To top it off, we actually went very early and initially were the only people in the place, I went to the bathroom and all of the stalls had empty hand towel dispensers and only one of them had toilet roll, so looks like they are unlikely to properly check the toilets at the end or start of shofts. Yuck.

Honest customer review. I stood at the door for a few minutes and was not greeted. I was told from a staff member at the bar to sit anywhere. I sat down and waited 20 minutes, went to the bar and was told there no table service. No one thought of telling me or putting a sign up to inform there customers 😂 the price is good an the size of the food is generous but overall exspirience is rubbish in the aspect of customer service and environment. All drinks out of stock apart from the obvious coke and a tap water 😂 probably wouldn’t return.

STAY AWAY - The whole experience of this place was poor. Everything we tried to order wasn’t available. No red wine, no beer, no root beer float, order was incomplete, food came out at different times, spicy fries for a child when we ordered normal fries, no bacon on the double bacon burger, fries missing from my sons burger. The food that came out was dry and substandard. My son could see the kitchen staff messing around and throwing stuff in the kitchen. When we spoke to our waiter initially, he said the machine was broken for the bacon!! Surely if they can cook burgers, they can cook bacon. Then they brought out another bacon burger later on, full of bacon and the waiter couldn’t explain where the bacon came from!! The parting shot was my nephew asking for a mini sundae, to be told they only had strawberry ice cream and no chocolate sauce. We were told no manager was available and to send an email. I really felt sorry the young staff who had to face the public and deliver the news that nothing was in stock.

The Korean BBQ burger was amazing

Stopped in at Birdhaus before the cinema for lunch, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Really tasty fried chicken, I had a wrap with fries and the flavours were great. Staff were really friendly too, and very apologetic about having an issue with the lager on tap... and that's where it started to go downhill. There were apologies about the wait for milkshakes on another table, mumbling the other side that the food was taking a while- and this was only with 4 tables seated. There was one sauce sachet on the table, when the kids on another table wanted some it was raided from a different table. So no lager, no sauce. Then I washed my hands after eating. If the floor in the restaurant looked dirty, the floor in the unisex toilets was worse, and the toilet bowl was brown from lack of cleaning. The food was delicious, but the lack of cleanliness in the loos makes you wonder if you want to go back. A real shame.

Service was very slow, so a number of tables were getting up to ask about their food, and ask for refunds. We got our food after about half an hour. The fries and frickes were good, but the burgers were disappointing. The smash burger came with 1 patty, instead of 2 as advertised. My burger was advertised as being “hot hot hot” but it didn’t have a hint of spice, nor a drop of sauce - dry dry dry! The slice of cheese had not been melted either. For a £9.50 burger, this was a let down. The restaurant was pretty noisy with sound from the kitchen and the bar, and many of the tables hadn’t been cleaned - I ended up cleaning my own with the spray that had been left out. On a positive note, the wait staff were really friendly and were trying their best. I was also happy with the beer - a pint of Asahi for £5.50 is pretty damn good!

I worked at this place for almost 6 months I worked crazy hours worked like crazy because they couldn’t keep there staff because of the way they treated them After working here I will gladly say I’ll never be eating there I worked in the kitchen and on the busiest days they had ran out of chicken and all we had was out of date chicken we were told to serve this when it has been 2 days or even 3 days out of date I left in November because I was treated like rubbish by the previous manager who worked there and the business had problems with paying there staff I am still waiting on the money they owe me I keep going in every so often to ask what’s going on and if it’s getting sorted I get told it is but it never seems to take affect Despite my dedication to the role and the efforts to perform my duties to the best of my ability, I was met with hostility and unprofessional behaviour from those in positions of authority. I had eaten here before with my family and had positive experiences. This time the staff were friendly and the food was very slow arriving although the staff were apologetic. When the food arrived it was so salty as to be barely edible. We left the majority of it. - very disappointed.

The chicken sandwich was crispy as it was so over cooked and there was so much bbq sauce dumped on the top you couldn’t taste anything else. The Cajun fried were solid. The whole think tasked like it had previously been cooked, been left to go cold and than refried so it wasn’t wasted. The place was deserted and I can see why. Would not go back

Mostly inedible. Ordered seoul burger but ingredients were missing. Big chunks of cucumber (not pickled) and no slaw. Bun disintegrated when i picked the burger up. 2 bits of rubbery sliced cheese. No spice or flavour of Korea at all. Chips were stone cold and soggy. Wrap was disappointing too. Cold again and the chicken had dried up and the crispy coating had fallen off. Most of it ended up in the bin! Wrong drink delivered too. £25 in the bin 😔

This story might seem far-fetched but it happened. We came in and ordered 2 beers, 2 sodas, 2 burgers and 2 orders of chicken tenders. There were only 9 clients at the time. It took them 15 minutes to bring the drinks after we ordered at the counter. After 30 minutes we changed our order into take out. After 40 minutes we asked were our food was. They “didn’t have any more buns”. We tried to get our money back, which was apparently a transaction that necessitated 3 people and 10 minutes. In the meantime we saw a guy coming back from a supermarket with buns.. This place is a disgrace. If you don’t have something anymore, just say so. They didn’t take responsibility nor initiative. A big fat zero. Also the personel really are NPCs.

the woman that worked there gave us free drinks and didn't even want to let me pay her,everyone is so so sweet and the interior is very comfortable,the food was perfect,that burger was the best one i've ever had !!

Slow service don’t come if you’re in a rush

Been here 2x with friends and had always had great experience. Came in today and was told that there would be 30-45 minute wait time which is okay. The staff at the till and server were lovely however the food was a disappointment. Youd think that the food would be freshly done given the wait time but it was not even warm when served. The burger and chips where dry and not freshly cooked.

The food was amazing and the owner was super nice. They make everything fresh so you have to wait a little bit but otherwise it's definitely 5 Stars.

I recently visited Birdhaus at The Beacon in Eastbourne with my wife. We are both vegan, and my wife is lactose intolerant. We were served what we believe was real cheese in our vegan burgers. When I questioned it, the staff couldn’t provide any clear answers, and the owner never responded to my follow-up email. Unfortunately, my wife suffered from severe discomfort later that evening, confirming our suspicions. Given their past issues with serving non-vegan items, this was very disappointing and concerning. Eastbourne Council being contacted and informed.

The place was fantastic. We are visiting Eastbourne and decided to get some food. The burgers were amazing and the service was great. The nicests people working there. They were quick, kind and attentive. Great portions and price!

The food was ok, nothing really to get excited about, especially for the cost. However, I am very disappointed in the service a smile, and politeness goes a long way. The curlerty if you can call it kept breaking not great when trying to cut your food. Personally, I'd invest in some cutlery and happy staff, and maybe your get busier.

Me and my 2 year old daughter came for lunch. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating of my young child. They were very attentive, providing extra napkins due to the mess she made and supplied us each a complimentary chocolate ice cream and juice drink! I ordered chicken burger and fries, which arrived nice and hot and tasted good. We were both very happy and will be sure to come again. Thank you.

Came in with high expectations. Left a bit gutted, Came for lunch today, ordered two burgers. Kids chicken strips with chips, and some mac bites. Found the cost for a burger quite high to what you'd think the quality would be, it's really missing something to break down each layer from burger and cheese.... eg salad, pickles just flavour if I'm honest. Felt very heavy on the grease while biting through the meat, which I also found with the mac and the chips. Chips where very oily (specially for a child's meal) (hollow chips with no depth) and when cutting through the mac, just swimming in it. Atmosphere, felt a bit to dual at times don't know if it was the time of day before lunch time rush or the location. Decor was nice, but could see repairs eg light bulbs needed replacing. Could see behind the bar (maybe a gate door to hide behind bar so customers don't see from seat level) Staff on the other hand absolutely lovely, hard working, lovely to talk too and service on time, tables clean, highchairs very clean and child friendly. Thank you for having us

Arrived at 7pm, to eat in at a completely empty restaurant, turns out they don’t do eat in orders, drinks only. Give it a miss. If you’re going to prioritise online customers then don’t bother having an eat in restaurant.

Today I went into birdhaus on my lunch break to try something new , I tried a fire bird with mac and cheese croquettes . I was blown away by the friendliness and attitude of the young man josh who served me , he was very polite and looked after me well . When the food came it looks outstanding with the presentation . I bit into it and the flavours were fantastic I loved every bite .. Josh kept making sure I was okay and when I leaved wished me a pleasant day. I will defo be returning

Really disappointed with the food and milkshake I bought today, super watery milkshake with a massive ice cube in it and lots of ice, and the food was really bad compared to the last time I came here, super disappointed wouldn't recommend anymore

Today we took 13 children for my son's 5th birthday... Food was faultless... Best dam smashed burger I ever eaten and highly recommended... And the prices are spot in great value big food not extortionate prices... Would go back any day and take friends .. well done don't change it! Winning ... Bravo chefs

Eastbournes one-stop-shop for Burgers! Chicken, beef + Vegan. The best Burgers ive had since Hollywood Boulevard, Califonia.. Birdhaus puts the yanks to shame. Oldie rock n pop really creates a cool atmosphere. Along with canned drinks available and not just the stuff on the pump. 2 for Tuesday is a WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER! Niiiiiiiiiiice

Ordered the other day, I got the double bacon burger and the Seoul burger with Cajun fries. The fries were so over seasoned it was more Cajun than fry and hard to eat. The burgers were good but the atmosphere was cold and empty with staff looking bored from how empty the place was. For desserts we got the Eton mess sundae (the whole reason we went in) but they were bland. For such a limited menu you’d expect much higher quality meals. The place definitely needs some redecorating but has potential. If you eat here don’t get the Cajun fries.

Came in here for a bite to eat before the cinema, this place looked more appetising then Nando’s over the road so we came in and got greeted by a fine young man by the name of Arthur . He seated us into an amazing table and we got straight to looking at the menu. Once ready we went up and got severed by a lovely young lady who got as through speedily . In no time at all Arthur returned with our amazing burgers and frickles , the food was to die for and the milkshakes were amazing !! Once done we had a lovely man name will come over and check on us and see if we needed anything else. 10/10 will be back SOON !!!

We were looking for somewhere different to eat, when we found Birdhaus. What a great lunch we had! Everything was delicious and arrived quickly, The service was brilliant, we felt really welcome and Will was a great help when ordering for my autistic son. Also thanks to Arthur for handing us a special offer flyer and directions. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Eastbourne.

Between the 3 of us we had 3 different chicken burgers and each was unique in taste despite having some similar ingredients. The chicken was cooked well and had great flavour but was perhaps a little dry. We also had a mix of plain fries, Cajun fries and sweet potato fries, and each were equally as delicious. It wasn’t particularly busy as it was mid Saturday afternoon, yet several tables when we entered still contained the leftovers of the last diners, and other tables were still in need of cleaning. Just one more member of staff at this time may have helped with this. Only 1 was visible from the time we entered until well after our meals arrived, so this is a likely factor. All of the glasses brought with our drinks were wet inside which is never pleasant no matter what sort/style of restaurant you are eating in, and one had what looked to be a pip or similar still inside. All drinks were cans with straws so we simply chose to avoid using the worst of the glasses. By the time we had finished, there had been a change of staff and we were also given a taster dessert to rate. This was a chocolate brownie sundae type dessert which was delicious. Neither my wife or I are a lover of chocolate ice cream, but found the particular version used in this dessert, mixed with the vanilla, to be very enjoyable. A good sprinkling of brownie (although more of this is always welcome) rounded of the dish. It was good size too. Whilst we did share it between two of us, I felt I could have eaten this alone and not been left overfull. All the staff were incredibly friendly and polite. It was clear they all enjoyed their work and were more than happy to help. Overall a very pleasant experience, and a place we are likely to return to.

Great food! Different from the same old burgers! Loved the korean bbq sauce - great surprise. Best chips in town, great burgers ans wings. Lovely and clean and great music! Wanted to try it out for ages and it did not disappoint.

Family went for a pre-cinema dinner and after ordering drinks and waiting 25 mins for our food we were told that the kitchen had run out of beef shrimp. 1 till was broken, the table sticky and the staff were inexperienced and slow. We got a refund and left never to return!

First time trying here. The tables were sticky, food all over the floors, glasses were filthy, cutlery literally had old food stuck to them. Burgers came out cold, and tater tots were literally drowned in sauce so we’re a bowl of sloppy mess and we’re missing half of the ingredients the menu said they come with. Considering it wasn’t even busy. Just awful.

Ordered and waited for 35 minutes, noticed bits of food on our table from previous customers. Saw a table that had come in after us get served, so we went to the bar to ask where our food was. Apparently, the lady who took our order clocked off and forgot to tell anyone about it. Staff were nice, brought our drinks over immediately, waited 10 minutes after this for the food. Food came and was hot and crispy, but lacked flavour, and chicken was mostly batter. Fries tasted as though they didn't even have salt. No salt or pepper shakers on the tables. Won't be coming back.

As I entered this exquisite establishment I was suddenly welcomed with a warm and welcoming atmosphere as I felt I was treated like royalty. The cohesion and multi serving structure of the restaurant tickled me with a sense of glee and surprise. The food was nothing like I had seen before as if it was sent from heaven, never have I ever consumed a burger with that amount of peace and pleasure. Farewell birdhouse, thank you for the only good experience and moment in my long lasting life.

This was our first time, it will not be our last. The staff, the food, the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Give it a try and see for yourself, the smash burger was 11/10

Been here 3 times, the food was lovely the first time we came however both the other times we attempted to come we got turned away as they had “shut their kitchen early” they had no sign on the door and this was an hour before closing. I get they they weren’t very busy but it was very annoying as we had traveled half an hour just to get turned away 2 times!!

I had waiting 40 minutes for my food. I ordered the vegan fake chicken burger after eating a few bites i noticed they had given me chicken burger. The cheese, mayo and bun were all vegan however the chicken inside was real. I hadn’t eaten meat in over 3 years and as a result felt incredibly ill and mostly very sad. They then offered me 20% off my next meal if i ever went back (which i won’t be doing.) Thankfully this kind waitress gave me a full refund but this is unacceptable and this restaurant should be shut down. If i wasn’t a child i would sue this restaurant. Don’t eat there, I am warning you.
