Excellent chicken wings! Found this place thanks to Google and glad we did. The staff were friendly and service was good, it was busy and the food was delicious so worth a little wait. Huge portions, if you think you are going to get 5 smallish wings, think again. The food was great, just couldn't finish it all.

This is a great place to eat and was a massive hit with all the family. The children’s menu was very fairly priced. We tried the burgers and wings and it was all delicious. My only bit of feedback is that one of the cooks stands just outside the door smoking/vaping. I am assuming there isn’t somewhere else for him to go as it’s only a small restaurant. I know it puts people off going in. Hope that helps, as the food is awesome.

We’ve been coming to Bird & Beer for a long time now, however, unfortunately this is the first time we have felt compelled to leave a negative review. Firstly, it seems the prices on the menu have gone up across the board, this wouldn’t be a massive problem if it was mentioned somewhere and not masked behind a ‘new menu’ social menu promotion, (the website still hasn’t been updated over a week later to reflect the new pricing in store which seems disingenuous). After doing a bit of research they now seem to be charging the same or considerably more than what similar restaurants charge in the centre of London and Manchester, this we do not understand how it can be justified. But the biggest issue was that we no longer had the freedom to mix different sauce coatings on our chicken unless we bought the plain strips and had pots of sauces. It was not explained to us when we ordered that this incurred an additional cost that we do not feel is justified. If this had been known beforehand we would have ordered differently. Certainly upsetting and will be looking elsewhere to eat in the future.

Cool little eatery across the street from the main railway station in Shrewsbury. Great place if you are a chicken lover as that is what you'll get in here. Wings, strips and burgers in various guides and covered in a good selection of sauces. A limited selection of beers and ciders to accompany the food but good all the same. Staff were friendly and willing to offer advice. Worth a visit if looking for somewhere casual to meet friends on the outskirts of town centre.

I really wanted to like this place as it's the only independent fried chicken restaurant in Shrewsbury. The restaurant itself has a cool vibe, the atmosphere is good and the staff are really nice, but for me the food is just a massive let down. The chicken is pretty much flavourless (shocked at the amount of good reviews) the slaw just tastes of mayo, and the service is very slow. We waited over an hour for our main courses, by which point we were no longer hungry. For me I think the standard should be a lot better if you're charging £16 for a burger (not including fries). The cheese wasn’t even melted? Sorry but I don't think you'd need to go far to find better a better chicken burger somewhere else. Honest opinion.

We wandered down on a Friday night ‘on spec’ and … they were fully booked all evening .. but the very helpful lady told us we could go to Tap & Can, enjoy great beer (see review 👍👍) and get food delivered to us there. We did ! And it was fantastic. We had chicken strips with their amazing bbq sauce (me) and SY Thai (him) - both were delicious 😋 served with yummy skin on fries. Excellent value at £10 too. Couldn’t resist sides of frickles with spicy mayo and slaw, also both excellent. Devoured with fab beer at Tap and Can. Perfect night out. (Sorry too hungry for photos!).

Always wanted to try this place after driving past many times. I took my wife and kids. They had a really nice meal, and the service was good, and the food was exceptional. Chicken and chips cooked to perfection 👌

Me and my Husband ALWAYS come here for our date nights. It is divine, so well made, absolutely scrumptious and we really look forward to going. There is plenty of food and at a quite reasonable price! We had a glass of wine, a craft beer, the American Dream burger, 5 chicken strips, frickles, chips, chicken toast and slaw. All for £50 and that fed and watered us both! Eva was fab! So polite, friendly and just really fun to be around. Thanks so much! We shall be back! 😋

The food was amazing. The burger tasted lush, really big, crispy and hot. I had the salt and pepper chips, bloody lovely and a real good portion. Had a great selection of beers. The waitress was very friendly, looked after us with drinks and the food came out quick. Definitely recommend.

Potentially the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. There is a great selection on the menu and the staff are the friendliest I've experienced in Shrewsbury. Couldn't recommend enough.

Had a lovely meal at Bird and Beer. I went for the chicken strips with plain fries. I had the 5 strips which left enough chicken for me to take away and have the next day. Very tasty high quality food and the service was very good also. The curry sauce side was especially nice. Very tasty I would highly reccomend it. The only downside for us was the toliet could be a bit nicer. We parked at 'The Gap' carpark on raven meadows, along from the bus station. This was nice and quiet and was only a short walk away.

Food is incredible. I've been to Bird and Beer and also ordered their food from Tap & Can who are across the road, the one single time they got the food slightly wrong they gave me a free portion. Couldn't rate them any higher. Lovely staff as well, highly recommend 😊😊

Best burger I've had in a long time, if not ever!!! This is a bit different from the usual burgers/pizza gastro. Chicken Strips in Buffalo Sauce and incredible and the kids meals aren't the usual freezer offerings and are good value. The craft beer on offer gives it the edge over other venues though I would like to see less house offerings (3) and more of an emphasis on guest, so there is a better choice on each visit. Great people running the Establishment and handy location for the train back home.

Good service - attentive and friendly. Great food - one of the nicer places to eat in Shrewsbury, it can be messy if you pick wings but they are worth it. Variety- large selections of craft beers, large range of sauces/specials you can pick from, some vegan options. Deep fried whispa gold was a nice pudding!

Ate here with my partner and some friends on a Friday night. We had come across this place on Instagram and after taking a look at the menu decided to try it. We did not leave disappointed. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was friendly also. Just wish I had known they allow dogs in as well as we would have bought our furry friend along too. We all take enjoyed it here and remarked that we would all like to go back.

Utter chicken heaven! It’s like KFC and Jesus had a baby and they decided to merge businesses. Easily the best fried chicken and corn dogs I’ve had in the UK.

I have been here twice recently and both times the food and service have been amazing. They do the most amazing GF options. I have been GF for over 5 years now and this place is the only place I know of that serves GF crispy chicken strips and just WOW. I can’t tell you how much it is appreciated. I wish more restaurants would take a leaf out of your book!!! I am so glad I found this place, I can’t wait for my next visit!!!

I have been to Bird and Beer quite a few times. I tend to go for Bottomless Brunch (unlimited chicken wings and beer for £35 for an hour and a half) My friends and I catch the train, go for a beer or 2 in Tap and Can (Sister bar to Bird and Beer) then get our chicken on! The wings are like nothing I have had before, I have never really been a fan of chicken on the bone, but these have so much meat on them and just fall apart they are cooked that well. My personal preference is either naked, Buffalo or Sy Thai! The staff cannot do enough to make sure you are well fed and well watered. There is nothing I can say to fault it!

Food was excellent! Different to run of the mill menus and at a good price. Staff were engaging and attentive. Also offered a doggy bag as our eyes were too big for our bellies! Thanks for a great meal 😊

Great selection of Craft beer on tap and in the fridge. Didn't eat here. We only had drinks. However, the food coming out looked really good. Really close to the station. Will definitely stop by again on our next trip to Shrewsbury.

Menu and quality really good. Recommend the buffalo style in particular. Need to eat quickly or sauce makes the coating soggy so it starts falling off the chicken, can’t be helped I’m sure.

Great service and great food! The vibe in the restaurant is really nice and chilled but have a lot of fun energy to it as well. It was lively enough inside not to hear the cars out on the road but not to loud that we couldn't hear each other. The food is amazing. We kind of built our own platter so try all the sauces for the wings! Shout out to the Thai and the Buffalo for being the best! The fries were good too but nothing compared to the chicken. Both the strips and the wings were well season and well cooked but to me the wings stood out as perfect. Crunchy, juicy and just wow. 10/10 will go back

Quirky little bar/restaurant in Shrewsbury! Stopped off here for a spot of lunch after hearing about it from friends, it’s quite a small place but all the staff are really attentive. Lots of choices for different drinks. Food tasted really good! Only complaint was that food adds up to quite a lot but you don’t mind paying when the quality is there. Would return in the future.

Nice enough but expensive for what you got. Went for the boneless chicken platter for 4 for £50. You get 4 pieces of chicken each chips and 4 dips. The chicken was a bit anaemic and only really tasty with a dip. To be honest I would have preferred a KFC not that I'm a big fan of KFC and rarely eat it but you can get more for your money and in my opinion is much tastier. The upside was they had some decent beers.

Can not rate the place enough. Me and my brother in law, went for the bottomless brunch. Staff could not be more accommodating, in the 90 minutes we had, they did not let my glass empty once. The food is fantastic no chance of leaving hungry. Can not wait to go back :-)
