Bingham Riverhouse in Richmond upon Thames

One of the best afternoon teas I've ever had, with a wide variety of tea selections. The servers were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable about the ingredients in the pastries. The lady who served us even kindly gave us complimentary chocolates with a happy birthday note (we had a newborn baby with us). The atmosphere was calm and hygienic. Highly recommend this place!

I can’t fault this place at all we had a wonderful stay here the staff were amazing exceptionally welcoming, every staff members we came across went out of their way for. The bedroom was beautiful and I want to say a special thank you to Andre he was so kind and helpful. I loved staying here best part of my mini moon. Fantastic location

Secret new big small Thames views A big Theater venue! Entrance faces river Thames view side, very confusing!! I had to walk up top end thru residential blocks on Queen carolyn Street to side/behind the main Hammersmith venue

Impressed and disappointed at the same time. My partner and I are both coeliac and need gluten free food which we made clear before booking. When we asked for the GF choices the staff by turn seemed either confused with no idea what we meant, then seemed fine with it leaving us wondering they really understood, and then finally told us they'd have to check with the chef. This left us feeling very stressed about what we were eating. In the end what we got was very good but the unnecessary flapping was unhelpful. The other observation was the library room in which we were placed had clearly seen better days. A beautiful room let down by lack of maintenance. The paintwork was discoloured and fading and we'll overdue a refresh. It wasn't what you expect from a premium venue in a premium location. But as I say, you can't fault the food.

Had dinner here last night. Lovely food and good service, however very expensive for very small portions. The scallops were £24 which, for that price, I’d have expected at least 3, but no, you only got 2 scallops. Seemed a bit ridiculous. Friend ordered the sea bream and it was the smallest fillet of fish I think I’ve ever seen, and that was £29. Just seems a bit extortionate really and can’t understand why the portions couldn’t have been a bit more generous for that price.

We had a lovely roast dinner on the terrace this Sunday. Our waiter Pawan was fantastic and very helpful.

I didn't stay there but when for a drink and use one of the "iglus" they have the the garden. Beautiful and tge service is great.

The place is nice, especially if you manage to get a table outside in a sunny day! We stopped for a coffee on a Sunday, we have been told that they don’t serve coffee on Sundays, we asked for a snack menu and we have been told that they don’t serve snacks on Sundays. Is this an actual joke?? At last I asked if I could have some kind of sandwich (I was hungry and I saw the table behind us having a sandwich) I have been told that no, they don’t have it and the ones at the table behind me has been authorised by the management 🙄 to be honest I don’t know what to say. In the end I had a 13£ mocktail because apparently I was only allowed to have alcohol or tea on a Sunday otherwise.

Totally disappointed. Booked a Mothers Day afternoon tea - booked on the phone. Upon arrival told payment wasn't made so booking was cancelled. Email address and full name was taken down incorrectly so no payment link came through. Called twice prior to the day to confirm and check and was told everything was fine and they were looking forward to seeing us!! Even told payment could be made on the day of arrival. Customer service needs to be improved. Won't be coming back.

This should be a 5* hotel! Me and my wife had the most amazing, relaxing, romantic stay at the Bingham Riverhouse. The room was stunning, it was classy and elegant with a vintage touch. We had a lovely view of the river, and the bath was amazing! We had the Sunday lunch which was absolutely delicious, highly recommend trying the food here. All the staff were very kind and really looked after us. We will definitely be coming back to stay.

What a fantastic location. A beautiful historic part of the river Thames, just minutes walk from Central Richmond, Richmond Hill, and Richmod Park So close to central London. Easy access by train from Richmond Station.

It was a mixed bag staff were really friendly, some dishes tasted nice. The scallop and sea vegetables although tasty were literally 2 scallops with a bit of samphire and garlic butter they served them in the shell on a round plate with nothing to grip the shell so it was just spinning on the plate and hard to eat. I ordered the steak with the red wine jus it came out floating in a mustard butter I pointed this out and was told it was garnish and I could get the jus and pour it over it, I asked for it to be swapped for what I ordered and wish I had not bothered the steak was chewy and the jus was tasteless. The place was in such a beautiful location but really run down cobwebs on the ceiling dust on the shelves and the brass table had not been polished for a while full of old glass marks which my cutlery was placed upon. I kept looking at all the visable finger prints on the till and could only think about the hands that touch that are serving my food. I don't think I will visit again

Nice venue right on the river front. Nice decor however very poorly lit that I couldn’t read the menu or see my food as the lights were so low. Lovely welcome on front desk. Shame there was only one working toilet. Food was nice. We all ordered a range of meals and some small plates. A tad overpriced. A limited main menu. Desserts were v rich, the baked cheesecake had a sauce poured over it which was too overpowering. The crumble had many floral flavours, and little fruit. This is a small restaurant with many members of staff but I felt as a family we had to flag down the waiter many times. I felt this restaurant could do more to address the attention to detail. The steak was medium rare but we asked for rare. And staff forgot the peppercorn sauce. We had to get attention so we could order wine and more beers. Again I had to ask for water. It would have been easier to leave a jug of water on the table. We asked politely if we wanted our dessert in the drawing room. I felt was v unfair as it took another 10 mins to get the dessert. V polite staff but missing that added touch of attention to detail. staff need to address these issues.

Yoga experience in the dome was awesome.

We visited on Friday night for a pre-dinner drink. The service was fantastic, the staff are friendly and welcoming. Our cocktails were great. We’ll be back!

There’s a reason we return to the Bingham, the amazing managers, servers and of course, their consistently excellent drinks and food. Francesco‘s ‘quiet’ management skills are unsurpassed!

Really enjoyed our overnight stay ,our evening meal was excellent and we hope to visit again.

If I could give 6 stars I would. Amazing place, very cozy. Staff is really nice and most of them will go out of their way to make you feel at home. This is literally a home away from home. Food is also a good highlight and the patio decoration makes the Richmond vibe even better. I would recommend staying here to anyone.

Exceptional food and service! As a regular supplier of wedding cakes to the Bingham Riverhouse, I thought it was time for a meal out with friends to experience what my clients experience. Head chef Vanessa Marx executes a beautiful seasonal and sustainable menu, small but perfectly formed and enough choice for all dietary needs. clearly a lot of thought love and care has gone into creating this menu, using many local and sustainable ingredients which truly shine on the plate. I ate some of the best vegan food I’ve ever tasted - special shout out to the mushroom cashew fondue with truffle and sweet potato pecan parfait dessert – exceptional. All our food was cooked to perfection, tasty, and good portion sizes. Excellent drinks menu, including lots of non-alcoholic options and delicious cocktails. Couldn’t fault the service and our group had such a great time. The dining room is dog, friendly, cosy and relaxed and we enjoyed drinks in the bar after our meal. highly recommend and will of course be returning! Thank you all at the river house for looking after us :) On a sidenote to anyone looking to organise a wedding or event, the location is stunning and you’ll be in great hands with their professional events team!

I wanted to share my recent dining experience at the Bingham Riverhouse in Richmond. The food was an absolute delight! Every dish was not only beautifully presented but also packed with amazing flavors. Each bite was a testament to the chef's skill and creativity, leaving us eagerly anticipating the next course. But what truly made the evening exceptional was the outstanding service from Lukas. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us. It's rare to encounter someone so genuinely invested in making their guests feel welcome and valued, and Lukas did just that. I can't recommend Bingham Riverhouse enough, whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself to a wonderful night out. A heartfelt thank you to the team at Bingham Riverhouse and especially to Lukas for making our evening truly unforgettable!

My daughters and I ate at the Bingham Riverhouse for their Christmas Day meal. Beautiful dining rooms! Lovely food! Fantastic friendly and courteous service! The food was wonderful for everyone including myself (a vegetarian). Any coeliacs or people with gluten intolerances/allergies should take note that the greatest care was taken over my daughter's food, and gluten-free alternatives were supplied (bread, desserts, etc), and it was all delicious and beautifully presented. Thanks to all at the Bingham Riverhouse for making it a very special Christmas Day meal. We would be more than delighted to return.

What a wonderful Sunday lunch with my family incl two children. Staff were so excellent and very attentive, food was delicious and generous. Children size portions available too. Atmosphere was delightful. Will be back!

We had our wedding at the Bingham, which we booked for April 2024 and then changed it to September. From start to finish the whole process was a dream. Amy was our wedding co-ordinator and couldn’t do enough, she was perfection - kind, patient, but also strong and got me where I needed to be on time (didn’t take any of my s**t!) We went to the Bingham before the wedding a number of times and were always greeted by name, every member of staff was so helpful, charming and genuinely seemed to enjoy working at the Riverhouse. We stayed at the hotel the night before and the amenities were dreamy, bed so comfy, lovely toiletries. The breakfast is lovely and just what was needed after a few too many drinks the night before. The wedding itself was the best day ever (I’m biased) but all of our guests said the same thing - amazing food, drink and service. Special thanks to Ricardo and his team who were amazing. I cannot recommend Bingham Riverhouse enough, whether it be for a big event, a few drinks or a meal out - it’s wonderful ❤️

Fantastic evening! We were given a beautiful table by the window. The food was exquisite and the wait staff were wonderful - attentive and so helpful with my dietary requirements. They also gave me a beautiful birthday plate. Thank you for an excellent evening. We will be back for sure! :)

We held our wedding here. Everything from the organisation to the execution was exceptional. Food was outstanding. Staff could not do enough, from Carl on the front desk, Laure who organised everything and the chefs and staff who managed everything on the day. One of the staff even had to drive the bride to the wedding as someone lost the car keys and we couldn’t get there…. The Bingham actually saved my wedding!!! We had many laughs, lots of love and even gained some new friends in the staff who felt like they cared about every detail. You made our special day more memorable. Thank you.

We attended an event at Bingham house and were told to park at a designated parking lot. While this is a private parking lot, we were told to register our plate at reception to avoid tickets. A week later, I receive a 60 pound penalty as well as multiple other guests. I called Bingham House and the receptionist was rude and very unhelpful saying that an area in the lot that we were directed to was private (which we could not have known and was not communicated to us when we registered at reception). He had an unprofessional and unapologetic tone which was not appreciated at all.

What a fantastic venue. We were invited for a dinner by friends staying at the hotel and they couldn't choose any better. The food was out of this world and service just spot on. Many thanks to the manager for making sure we are enjoying our night out.

Lovely Hotel with probably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever had in a hotel. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Fantastic views of the Thames, would have given 5 star for location but Hotel is not well sign posted and we initially struggled to find it.

Nice and cozy local restaurant by the river. Great fresh food, quite earthy and good size portions. Perfect for a family lunch as well as business. Service also was on point.

Hi, I had the best evening with some friends in the drawing room we stayed for a few cocktails which were all delicious. The experience was extra ordinary the atmosphere was so nice for a pre dinner drink and the service was fantastic. Everyone was so helpful friendly and fun especially the lady in the bar. Honestly such a great evening and I can’t wait to go back!

Be careful when you order! I ordered a vegan Bhuti English breakfast. Having taken a big mouthful of the spinach, I knew immediately it had butter in it. Having asked the original waiter whether this was definitely vegan, he confirmed yes. I then asked my partner to taste the spinach - he confirmed again that it had butter in it. I went back into the main restaurant (we were on the balcony) to try and find a waiter - couldn't find a single server so had to walk to reception - when I finally found someone, they confirmed that the spinach does have butter in it. Furthermore, I ordered a chai latte - a matcha latte came. Outside of this, the waiter was very sweet with our newborn, beautiful setting and surroundings - does feel like a hotel though.

Throughly enjoyed my stay at the Bingham. Obviously the large copper bath was just a treat, and the views over breakfast were tremendous. My only criticism is the £47 extra for breakfast was a bit steep. One sausage, two bacon, two eggs, a field mushroom and what was described as tomatoes on the vine on the menu but was clearly just a standard tomato cut in half @ £16, then and additional £2.50 to add beans, then an additional £2.50 for a single hash brown, and then an additional £2.50 for a piece of black pudding, taking it up to £23.50. I stayed two nights and the second morning refused to pay it again, so went to Greggs for a £3.50 coffee and sandwich which was on a par. Expectations are everything, and when I pay £556 for two nights, a breakfast should be included, and if you are charging £23.50 for an ok breakfast and £16 for eggs Benedict’s, then extra for coffees on top, I want better than ok. I feel breakfast is the most important meal of the day when your a hotel. Start on a positive.

I came here to eat at the restaurant. It's a lovely little place hidden in Richmond and over looking the river. We sat by the window with a lovely view. The scallops were delicious and my partners' salmon was also nice. The steak I ordered looked amazing, but although it looked the part the taste was a bit disappointing, not as good as steak I've had elsewhere. The chips had skin on them and were tasty though! My partner's mushroom risotto was very impressive and delicious. The meat was a bit dry and stringy though, think it was wildboar? The desserts were rather rich and too fancy for me, I just wanted a good dessert pudding and it was too OTT for me the ice cream was a weird flavour I prefer a simple vanilla flavour but perhaps with high quality vanilla beans or something.. don't even remember or know what flavour the ice cream was but I didn't like it! (Wasn't coconut) We had to move seats after our starter as I looked up the window and saw a ladybird... Which I'm fine with I don't mind them at all, but then I saw another and another and another about 8+ crawling across the panes up and down and then toward me which totally freaked me out lol Too many put me off! Apart from that the experience was overall not bad. If you like to dine because of the experience, location and like a bit of class this is perfect. However if you normally eat at High Street restaurant chains and places like Nandos this is not for you as my drink cost £13 and wasn't even alcoholic! No soft drinks or normal fruit juice but fancy combinations of various liquids with a fancy name! It's to go to for special occasions :)

Birthday lunch with a friend. Loved the new menu - a great mix with of healthy choices, exotic foods, and seafood for us. My friend had an orientalist vegetarian dish which she enjoyed very much. Can definitely recommend!

We had dinner at The Bingham Riverhouse and were looked after by Francesco who was amazing, the staff even brought a blanket for my dog when they thought he might be feeling a draft ❤️ Everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive and the food off the scale. The wild boar risotto was delicious. We’ll definitely be back for a round two, three, four and five!

We had a lovely 2 night stay here, a really fab boutique hotel on the river, very pretty, quiet at night, the staff were all great, nothing was too much trouble and the food was excellent! A lovely part of the world and we look forward to a return trip in the summer! Thank you 😊
