Warning. Never order or eat at this establishment. I got threatened whenever I called to ask where my order wad. Exact words from the staff member "I know where you live so don't start with me". Police called due to fear for safety. If this is the customer service you get, avoid at all costs.

This is easily the best Indian restaurant in the country. The food the staff and everything else always beats expectations

When you order a meal and it turns out to be too hot for you, so they give you another free less hot meal and throw in free rice to replace the rice you put on top of the hot meal, you know you are at a special place. And I never asked. Best service ever, no wonder this restaurant has been under the same ownership for over 30 years. Loved the food too. Wonderful 😁

I have had plenty of meals both take away and in there restaurant always been satisfied. Tonight I ordered and the food was delivered cold items missing then when I phoned to complain the person I spoke too was vile and abusive threatening I will never go there again

Ordered at 7:40pm. Said it would be delivered between 8:00-8:20. At 8:25 I called as it hadn’t turned up. Was told they were busy and it would arrive in 15-20 mins. Half hour later at 8:55 still no order. Called and they said he’s on the way, will arrive any minute. 10 mins later still sat here without the food. I don’t mind if there are delays but it’s the lying that is infuriating. Just tell me how long it’ll be? And offer a refund so I can get food elsewhere if it’s going to take ages. Absolutely disgusted with the lies. Clearly they weren’t on the way. Third time I rang they hung up. 1 hour 30 since ordering and still no food…

Asked for fishfingers(cheap nasty) to come with our starters. No last thing to come with our mains. Both myself and husband enjoyed starters. Myself and husband had pasanda mine was vegetarian, couldnt find any appart from peas. Both agreed it was tasteless, I know its mild but absolutely no taste at all. £70 down the drain

I spent the day looking at curry restaurants in the area and from trip advisor reviews decided to book here for birthday meal , so glad we did !!!! Such a lovely and warm welcoming restaurant , members of staff A++ we tried the special rather than our usual where we could choose 2 starters, 2 mains, rice, nan and popadum, this was just right and not over facing as a sampling selection which I thought was well worth the offer price ( only Sunday and Monday) I would not recommend this to big eaters as this was a sampling selection but a great indication of the quality of dishes they provide.I totally recommend this restaurant!!

Horrendous customer service, waited 2 hours 40 minutes for our food, then 2 of the curries were incorrect. We repeatedly asked staff about our order to get no true response, we complained several times & mentioned we wanted some money off our final bill. We asked for our bill which never came so went to the bar to pay, when we mentioned our poor experience, one of the staff members responded with an awful attitude and basically told us it was our fault we waited so long for food because we didn't tell anyone, absolutely ridiculous as we had asked different members of staff multiple times. The staff member was also quite threatening towards my partner. They knocked £7 off a £97 bill, the worst customer service I've ever received, will never be going back.

Called in on a Friday night with some friends. The restaurant was buzzing with a great atmosphere with groups of friends and families. Very extensive menu and some dishes I have never seen before. The staff were very good at explaining and recommending dishes. Food was fantastic really tasty we had a variety and tried some new dishes and were not disappointed. Really great service from the Staff and the bill was very reasonable as well…what’s not to love …we will be back

One of the best Indian meals I ever had, trust me I have tucked a few away. I had a house Bangladeshi special, spices to die for, amazing fluffy rice, followed by a limoncello desert. Service was fantastic, nothing was a problem, talked me through my choice. Enjoy

Thali meals are available on a Sunday and Monday evening. Popadom and chutney, any 2 starters, any 2 mains, rice and naan for £10.99. excludes seafood. You get a metal tray with small portions of the starters and mains you've chosen, rice and naan portions are quite large. I have a big appetite and I was pleasantly full afterwards. This meal is a great way to try the large menu with small portions. I chose lamb and chicken dishes and the meat was lean and tender, not a huge amount of meat but enough. The flavours were great. I had the vegetable rice and garlic naan which were lovely. My partner as a vegetarian chose all veggie options and she loved her thali meal, arguably with more food because veggies are a bit cheaper than meat!!! She especially liked her bindi choice. We will definitely return for this offer again!

We bought 2 takeaways new years eve one chicken tikka balti and one chicken tikka bhuna both of these dishes sauces tasted powdery as if the spices hadn't been cooked. Totally spoiled our meal threw them in the bin.

Why have you only got 1 point from the HYGIENE STANDARDS. You serve good food,friendly staff but you are losing business with your rating. Get it sorted and post it on your door for all to see.

When we visit Newcastle under Lyme, it has to the Bilash for an Indian Curry. The food is authentic, tasty and well presented. A warm welcome is alway there for you in this friendly and very clean restaurant. Fully recommended.

It's a number of years since I visited the Bilash restaurant and unfortunately I won't be returning very soon. The service was excellent but the food was mediocre to poor. The Biriyani dish I had lacked flavour, very little sauce thus making the dish very dry. Unfortunately I won't be returning with other good curry houses in the area!

Visited tonight with my wife and 2 young children. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left the 2 guys working could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Monday night food deal was excellent value for money and our children (and us!) Loved the Thali. Quality of food was excellent. Really couldn't fault it at all. Will return next year when we will be back in the area!.

Excellent service and polite staff. We have used this wonderful curry house for more than 20 years. The environment is very friendly, all the seating is comfortable with high backed chairs. You can take your choice of tables, we’ve attended as a couple or in family groups upto 20 people. Our grandchildren have always been made welcome. The staff also will organise taxis to take you home.

My husband Kev and i went to Bilash tonight for a curry and yet again , were not disappointed. I, Jo, always ask Dil for a recommendation and he always does me proud and gets it absolutely spot on, he is a lovely guy ( as are all the team at Bilash) and really knows his stuff, Thanks again Dil, top man! The atmosphere is always relaxing, friendly and the team at Bilash always provide excellent quality food and great customer service from the minute that you walk in the door. We would highly recommend Bilash, once you`ve been, you won`t go anywhere else for a real authentic curry.

I go the Bilash quite regular midweek with friends the meals are always very good the welcome you receive is always friendly and they are very attentive to your needs.

Very friendly service, great vegetarian food. Only criticism is I’d rather pay extra and have a decent bottle of wine.

Having frequented the Bilash for 20 years tonight will be the last time. We ordered our usual, including a mild nut free curry for our son who is anaphylactic with nuts. When it arrived I thankfully spotted almonds on the rice. It was taken away and replaced along with a rant from the waiter at how he didn’t understand why people were allergic to things. The mild curry was anything but, so again we asked for it to be replaced and had sharp response from the same waiter about how it was already a mild curry. The bill came and absolutely no account was made for the near fatal error or the badly cooked curry, so this combined with appallingly aggressive service means that for us our Bilash Day’s are done.

Me and my girlfriend often enjoy coming to the Bilash restaurant to eat. The staff are friendly and the service is efficient. There is lots of choice on the menu and the food is always good. I look forward to my next visit.

The decor is a bit dated and the service a bit slow, but overall the meal was pleasant and the staff friendly. Will definitely try again.

The restaurant was chaotic when we arrived with the length of the bar covered in dirty glasses.The meal was the worst service I have ever had. We ordered starters which came quickly but then we waited over an hour between starter and main which only arrived after pointing out the delay. The main portions were smalll and food at best average. We then waited over an hour again for dessert and on asking about the delay was told our ice creams needed to defrost?? I ordered a pineapple fritter which they forgot altogether.

I was recommended this Indian takeaway several years ago by local friends. I have since moved from the area but I ordered 2 meals for myself for the few days I returned to the area and they were both excellent. I prefer mild courses so ordered a chicken passanda and the Malayan chicken.

I have dined inside the restaurant and as a take away customer many times, the service is very good, friendly staff, a long established family business. The food is always awesome Highly recommended

We had quite an average experience at this place - food and atmosphere were enjoyable and staff we quite pleasant, however place wasn't the cleanest and at the end of the meal a spider crawled over the seat. Also was quite pricey considering the food was very average and had better quality food for a lower price elsewhere

Visited on Christmas Eve and was surprised to see empty tables. Sat down at 7 and by 9 we still hadn’t had our main course and didn’t see many other tables eating either.We had a lot of different meals in our group but on sight alone it looked like it had been dished up out of the same pan.Curries that we’re meant to be mild were red hot and mine contained so many chillies it was unbelievable.Bland tasting food, super slow service but the staff were polite so that accounts for the 1 star rating. Doubt i will be back.

Ordered a takeaway from here for the first and last time. We all ordered entirely different main dishes so I knew it was going to be rubbish when they all looked exactly the same - same colour, same thick gravy appearance, same everything. As suspected, every meal tasted exactly the same too, the only difference being that one had a few tomatoes thrown in, another green beans and the third a few onions and chillies. Very lazy cooking by a chef who either doesn't care or just doesn't have much of a clue. Can't say that any of the extras were any better either.

If you are looking for a healthy Indian joint, look else where . This is a place that served bad quality oily food , they call it Indian, it's far from it.

We go in here often, the food is always excellent, never had a bad meal in there and the owners and staff cannot do enough. This is by far the best indian restaurant in the area.

Three cousins and partners meeting up after many years - need nice atmosphere, somewhere to park and good food. Bingo - or rather Bilash. Just outside town, on the main road and with parking. But if you go on Saturday you must book - it was filling by 7.15pm and packed by 8pm. A broad range of menu options - we took choices over the specials menu - Citrus curry went down very well and a vegetarian option. Portions just right and the food was all good.The service was a bit mixed - not bad or sloppy just a bit confused.

Great restaurant not to expensive and the staff are fantastic. My only concerns is the decor is a bit dated and I think a lick of paint would do it the world of good. But as the food is good who cares.

My husband and I were invited to the Bilash for an evening meal. It was our first, but will not be our last time, at this lovely Indian restaurant. We were wined and dined in style, served by Rumel, who could not do enough to make our visit special. The choice of food was a wide variety of tasty Indian dishes. It is certainly what it says on the card a RESTAURANT OF DISTINCTION. Thank you to all at the Bilash, and to the friend who introduced us to this treat.

Not been to this restaurant for along time. Under new management the welcome was warm and friendly, staff courteous and helpful, the service was excellent. The choice of Indian cuisine was mouthwatering and spoilt for choice. Cooked and served to order the food was served hot and extremely tasty at a reasonable price. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will definitely go back.

After what I experienced tonight has a takeaway only beggers belief 5 pieces of chicking in each curry only to be told it's standard practice.... one when your counting chicking pieces in a curry you must be so sad and have no life that will be the last time you catch me with my pants down Mr bilash chicking counter bye enjoy my last order !!!

When we helped our son move to his house in Keele we were getting pretty hungry and set off towards civilisation to find a restaurant and came upon The Bilash...it looked nice enough and we went inside to be greeted by friendly helpful staff...it was early evening and the place was already quite busy...We noticed to our delight that they had various offers and deals on different nights of the week displayed on the wall.It was a Tuesday and the offer was for Starter,Main,Poppadoms,rice chutneys and choice of bread all for £8.95 which seemed like good value..The curries we had were all very tasty and fresh and there was far too much for us to finish it all so doggy bags were made up for us...The drinks were reasonably priced and I think next time we visit Keele we will call here again..

Great food, extensive menu. You feel welcome from the minute you walk through the door. Staff helpful and friendly, happy to explain the menu and contents of each selection. We were not disappointed with our choice, it was tasty and what we expected. We will be returning very soon. Also on site parking.

What a great Indian restaurant. Welcoming staff, great choice of drinks and a superb menu. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Meal was outstanding. Would highly recommend. Best Indian in the area!

We arrived and noticed there was a large party in the main room, we asked if there was somewhere a little quieter. No problems at all. The food was good and the service also good. Although being asked if everything is alright once is enough. Prices seemed reasonable although we don't know what the bill was as we were being treated. We will return.

What can I say ? Amazing place we have been using this restaurant since it opened ( previously the nelsons pub which we also used ) and I can honestly say we have never had cause to complain even when they are extremely busy , staff are so courteous and pleasant and the food is scrumptious, they even change the selections on their thali if you ask ( I don't know any other restaurants that will do this ) very reasonably priced and is always first choice for us when in Newcastle.

Been loads of times love the garlic mushrooms,n food is very good . Great location just up the road from 4 good boozers.and a taxi rank down the road . Good old fashioned English curry house typical to the area and service is great .. Give it a try you will not regret it

Went after a recomendation, hadnt been for a long time, we were looking for a good curry house in newcastle as numerous other curry venues not to the standard of old. Been Bilash twice in a month both times great food. Very tasty authentic food. Would definately recomend.

Myself and my boyfriend had a lovely meal here this evening! A wonderfully friendly member of staff was there to greet us at the door and show us to our table, he was equally as helpful when it came to recommending beers and giving us information on the flavours and spice of the curries we were deciding to order. The food was fantastic, more than plenty for the two of us and most definitely your money's worth. Looking forward to going again soon, thank you to the staff for a lovely evening.

Best in area would recommend always fast service and good portions . Everything is fresh and tastes good. A must try you won't go wrong

Another excellent takeaway from the Asha which is the ajoining takeaway. Fresh hot and very resonably priced. Keep up the high standards, this place looks a bit dated on entry but don,t be put off the food is excellent. And the chips are like roast potatoes!!!

We go regularly to Bilash. It is one of our favourite restaurants.Food is consistently good. The welcome is always warm.

We have used the Bilash for two years and in the beginning the food was good, approx 2 months ago it started to go down hill. On Friday 1 meal specifically requested not spicy couldn't be eaten. The other 3 meals very poor, the chicken overcooked and chewy ( if it was chicken). Its that bad in my opinion ;will not be going back.

We went from work after being given a deal 50 percent off the food by the owner! 23 of us, the staff were friendly and the restaurant is pleasant.The drinks are a really good price the house wine is about £7 per bottle.Bad points: my garlic kebab starter was so hot it was horrible and when i cut it open their was whole raw cloves of garlic in the middle. I ordered butter chicken as my main meal and it did not look or taste like butter chicken which i have all the time.A few others had disappointing meals and a few of the chip portions we ordered were not cooked in the middle.we would go again if he gave us a deal again, average cost for our meals was 7 or 8 quid each so didnt complain but if we had paid full price think we would of sent stuff back!

We have been visiting The Bilash now for around 20 years and I can honestly say never a bad meal!! We visit with friends at least once a month - sometimes 2/3. The staff are so lovely and friendly and they know us by name. We always have the same every time and its delicious! (Chicken Tikka Massalla Balti). The prices are excellent too, not overpriced paying for fancy decor - but a good traditional Curry House!!

Go here a lot, I could again class this as another one of the best in Newcastle, The place is clean and tidy the staff are A1 you are made to feel very welcome as you walk in through the door, and again the meals are perfect you can ask for anything in a curry that you like and it will be done for you, I was there on my 70th birthday and a bottle of wine was given to me how nice, please try it.

Too noisy, Too boisterous, management made no attempt to ask loud parties too keep the noise down. Don't order king prawns I only found a total of 4 in my dish that you pay a premium for over normal prawns. We asked 3 members of staff for the bill which was finally provided with 4 shots of unidentified tasteless ( baileys equivalent ) ??? . This was our first and definately final visit to the Bilash.

We go to the Bilash on a regular basis. ( about once a month ).The food is of a good quality and the service I have found is second to none. Try the chicken tikka mushroom massala balti. It's my favourite Along with the odd pint or two of Cobra on draft it makes for a very pleasant evening out. The staff are very friendly and like to get to know you and quite often the owner will come around to all the tables to have a quick natter. I have been going to the Bilash now for about 20 years and have never failed to have a good meal there.

Let me start by saying I'm no curry oficianado,but I know what I like.I've been to Bilash a couple of times now,had different meals both times.Unfortunately neither were anything to write home about.If I had to use 1 word to describe their curries it would be dry.Not enough sauce for my palette.But at £9 for poppadoms,starters and main I certainly can't complain at the price.Good value but just not to my taste.You might like it though so give them a try.

I've dined here several times and the food is nicely presented and reasonably priced. We'd not returned to the Bilash for about a year, as had had a ridiculous wait for food the last time! However, we gave it another go. This time, it was early doors on a Saturday night and the place wasn't too busy.The staff are polite, drinks and poppadoms were brought to us quickly after serving. I always like to choose from the Chef's Specials list, which I did on this occasion. I can't recall the name of the chicken curry, but I remember that my friends chose a chicken biryani and a lamb madras. Our main courses arrived at a reasonable time after our poppodoms were cleared, the staff asked if we required more drinks. Whilst my chicken curry had a very flavoursome, concentrated sauce, the portion size was very small compared to 4 times the amount of rice that came with it. Such a shame. The madras and biryani looked to have more meat than my choice too and were enjoyed by the chaps.We shared a peshwari naan bread, which was average in taste and a tad dry. Sorry Bilash, but I don't think I'll be returning.

I went with friends to try Bilash, we love Asian food. Unfortunately, we found all the food to be very bland. The service was ok, but the food just had no taste. And a bit expensive. The decor was old and tired.

I have eaten regularly at the Bilash since it opened in the late 1980s. I have never failed to have an excellent meal. The waiters are very informative about the menu items and give excellent guidance on the strength of the various curries. The service is prompt and cheerful, and on most evenings the owner visits and tours the tables asking if everything is satisfactory. The ambiance is cheerful and friendly. At times it can be a little noisy when there is a large party in the front dining room, but the staff always manage to find us a table in a a quieter room when asked.

My family often go here, it's our favourite curry place & if we don't eat in we have it to takeaway. Whenever we have a takeaway we always get complimentary chocolates & they always bring the food to the car & open the door for you. Very polite & the best customer service I've known! Visited bilash tonight & the man asked about my family as he remembered me & often asks about them if they aren't there. I then got given a free bottle of wine for my birthday. Such a great place, lovely people, your not just another person who walks through the door they take the time to speak to you & remember you each time. Your made to feel really welcome & comfortable. Wouldn't go anywhere else! & would definitely reccomend!!
