Rose Of Kashmir in Newcastle-under-Lyme

About 28 of us went for a special 60th birthday meal. The food was fresh and hot and the staff coped very well getting it out quickly. Its only a very small place mainly doing takeaways but it really was a lovely night and we all took our own wine which made it a very affordable night. Thankyou to the chef and the lovely young ladies who looked after us.

When for friends 60th Birthday their was 28 of us the service and the food was excellent the staff where very friendly and helpful

This visit was on a Sunday evening with a friend. We were the only customers dinning in the restaurant, so I can only comment on the staff and the service we received. This was in my humble opinion 5 stars, they catered for our needs efficiently and courteously. The food was excellent and we will be revisiting the RoK very soon.

The BEST Indian restaurant I’ve been to in the UK. Home cooking, delicious and light food. Despite the generous portion, we never felt “stuffed”. AND YOU CAN TAKE YOUR DRINKS WITH YOU, and they don’t charge corkage. Very intimate atmosphere and fabulous friendly staff, especially Laiba and Harpinder. Highly recommend it.

The last week I visited a restaurant near my house. I think this is best place to get a meal. First, the place was very nice with fall decorations. Second, the service was kind and fast, they explained me so clear about their dishes which are present in their menu. Also, the food arrived really fast and the owner of this restaurant walked to my table to give my food.(I felt so special). Finally when I checked the bill, I wan in shock because all things have low prices and for this meal I only pay small amount of money. Please must visit there and enjoy your meal.

The food of this restaurant is amazing and staff is very helpful and staff clear all the questions regarding meals in very pleasant manner.

The food is delicious and the service is great. The ambianceis lovely and the portions are generous and the ingy are fresh.

The food is always excellent. I'm amazed how they maintain such consistency, the quality of the meals never varies. The staff are lovely and even when they are very busy nothing is too much trouble. You are able to take you own alcohol, which is an added bonus.

Small place but very nice.. doesn't accept cards or serve alcohol but there's a shop next door for both

Beautiful little gem in the middle of Clayton/Seabridge estate. Tasty and delicious food brought to us by a very very kind and pleasant young lady. If you haven't been yet just give a try you won't be disappointed. Definitely we'll go again!

Lovely Evening out to have a catch up with friends. Beautiful interior, Food fabulous, staff brilliant and attentive, even had a free desert at the end of the evening with compliments from the staff. Cannot fault anything here at all and definitely recommend this restaurant to all. Prices really good as well. Do not sell alcohol but you are welcome to take your own.A visit here is a must.

Allways have a wonderful evening here. The staff are so friendly and welcoming The food is consistently excellent and I've never had a bad meal yet.The ice cream desserts are so yummy and are a lovely end to the evening.Its also nice that you can take your own drinks. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Waited an hour an 50 minutes for our delivery. Rang 3 times to check where food was and the woman hung up on us 3 times. Will not be ordering again.

Not very helpful or clear with food allergen queries. Was simply told “if something happens we can’t guarantee”. Also avoided answering allergen questions to get an order placed.

Wonderful Boxing Day family gathering!! Our party consisted of 9 adults and 1 child, the quality of food served and service was second to none, the child’s English meal was also super, would highly recommend and will definitely be going back!!! Taking our own booze was no problem at all.

You have to buy alcohol from the newsagent next door (however you are allowed to drink it without religious judgement inside) service was good an attentive. The food was good too. Cash only.

Just travelled 200 miles, and the hotel food offering was poor,so I Googled nearby restaurants. Wow, what a find,excellent food, the best we've had in years

Haven't been here in a few years so thought I'd give it another try. Spot on, really tasty food and plenty of it. 100% recommend

We ordered a take away online and I seriously question if the delivered food even came from their kitchen as the standard was so poor . We have eaten in the restaurant and had many take aways always enjoyable but never anything like this we both left a lot of food. Rice was wet and created puddles, chicken curry ( we paid extra for medium) , was completely tasteless and basically warmed sauce with chicken thrown in. Chicken tikka masala was ok but very sweet. Nan wet and under cooked dough with fresh chopped coriander thrown on supposed to have garlic too?.. Poppadoms were basically out of a packet and toasted till burnt. Even the mango and yoghurt dip was tasteless . The starter chicken chat on purée was the only acceptable part of the meal but sadly cold. Insufficient salad garnish for 2. £33 badly spent . This is definitely not ROK standard and we would have walked out if served this in the restaurant. Will be looking for alternatives if this is the new ROK!

Just had a very poor meal chicken tikka mushroom masala no taste like eating a stew 1 mushroom and soggy Nam usually a good meal but recently gone off not the usual standard very disappointing ,reluctant to use again

Biryani was too spicy, and all rice no protein. Vegetable curry sauce made with frozen veg. No heating on in the restaurant so couldn't wait to get home. Waitress very nice and friendly, man glaring through kitchen door was a bit off putting.

Fantastic food and fantastic service, the 5 star naan is the best I've ever tasted, and the range of different authentic dishes is wonderful, if your hungry and want a great curry then visit the rose of Kashmir

Love the refurbishment and food good portions and taste divine.

We used this place as our local rose off kashmir was closed. We will not be using ever again. Very expensive for what you get. Nan bread was tiny all we got was 3 curry's and 1 rice and a small nan for 29.40. Compared too getting with our local 1 is 3 curry's 2 rice 1 large chips poppadoms and 4 sauces and a salad for 24.40 would never recommend too anybody.

I had a king prawn dansak. I think I had 2 small prawns in it and it tasted like pure lemon.yik I had food with them before covid and it was fantastic. But I was not impressed this time

This isnt a bad little place for Indian takeaway...ask for your dishes to be made 'Pakistani' style...you get a bit more of an authentic flavour.

We all had a lovely meal! The service was excellent and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Because of the Covid 19 restrictions we will be unable to visit as a group in the near future but we will certainly be having takeaways.

We have had a couple of take away recently and the food was on time and really tasty.

After being told by the Blanc restaurant at Stone that the booking we had made for 7pm could not be accommodated as they only do 2 sittings 6pm & 8pm. We had the reservation confirmed and to top it all when we telephoned the Rose of Kashmir and they said the could fit us in immediately we cancelled the reservation and the owner of the Blanc tried to charge us a £30 cancelation fee, of course we did not pay this and told him we would leave a bad revue on TripAdvisor and he said he did not care as he had plenty of business. Back to the Rose of Kashmir, the food was excellent and plenty of it. The waitress was the mot pleasant we have come across and worked her socks off, the food came very promptly and it was half the price of the Blanc restaurant. Overall it made a very enjoyable night, would certainly recommend. P.S. Don't bother with the Blanc unless you like being ripped off and your complaints being dismissed.

Nice korma but my fellas meal was too hot not bad prices either

Ordered because reviews were good but won't do again. Used chicken tikka instead of plain chicken in all dishes when I specifically selected plain not tikka. Then paid £9 for a chicken paneer that just had a bit of mozzarella grated on the top, not a piece of paneer in sight. Nearly £40 for substitute, substandard food. Not pleased.

Ordered a takeaway meal from ROK for my birthday. Mine was excellent. Previous meals including sit in have been faultless. The online booking system is excellent, food and delivery exceptional. Everything perfect!! However, last night I ordered a chicken Tikka Kashmir for my wife - medium hot. Instead, she received a chicken Tikka Malaya. The curry is sweet and had pineapple banana and a glace cherry? My wife ate her chicken pieces and left the rest. One disappointed lady. However, when I rang the ROK I was fobbEd off by the guy on the phone who said that that's how they make it. I've personally eaten Chicken tikka Kashmir and a) it's not sweet and b) it's not full of banana and pineapple!! c) I don't like being treated like an idiot on Indian food nor do I like being fobbed off with a load of rubbish!! Finally, as I pointed out to the guy their online guide does not mention sweet sauce and fruit in a Kashmir Tikka. He apologized for the misunderstanding. That was it!! It won't stop me ordering takeaways in future but it spoiled an otherwise great birthday!!

Oh my word! Just lovely food tonight. Why haven’t we found you sooner? Total convert. The Saag paneer, gosh, I’d be happy to drown in that! Even the papadums seem lighter and creamier than elsewhere. Anyhow, brill and will be revisiting.

First time I've used this restaurant. Ordered a takeaway for 3 people. Everyone enjoyed their meal and I had one of the best Biryani dishes I've ever had. Definitely using again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

Had a fantastic take away this evening. Been a while since ordering one. Forgot until now how gorgeous the curries plus side orders and anything else that goes with it. They pull out all stops on customer service. Thank you to all the staff for well cooked, well presented and delicious food. . Highly recommend this establishment to anyone.
