Food is great, service is normally great but just realised that I may be getting ripped off more than once. Went their today, new guy served, was offended by the small order (mix of mithai and jilebi) and then charged me the mithai rate, which is 25% more! He got offended when I pointed it out! As it was a small order, the difference in £ wasn't that great, so I shrugged it off but then realised that they must have done this everytime I came before. Normally, really good service, but it's the principle, why skank a penny when you doing well. I was a regular but not anymore.

I visited Bilal after reading the reviews here. The shop looks small from ouitside but, once you enter, it's like a tardis! The kitchen is huge and spotlessly clean. They obviously make al their dishes on the premesis and what dishes they are. I went for sweets but tried various pekoras and kebab. Every single one had the most amazing spiced flavour and each one was different. None of the dishes was overly hot with chillies but was perfectly spiced. The man who served me was friendly and knew all about the products. I loved talking with him. One last thing - VALUE! I decided to eat the savoury stuff in the shop. I managed about half of it and had to take the rest home along with the box of sweets. I won't say exactly how much it ALL cost but I was truly amazed by the value - still can't believe it. I live nearly 200 miles away but trust me, if I go near to Birmingham again I'll be back to Bilal. I'm already looking for an excuse!

The pakore and samose are great as fresh. Other stuff are pretty average. The Mithai is not bad from here. I mostly goto get Pakore as fresh always.

Still the best Indian sweet shop in Birmingham. The pakoras, shami burgers, katlamas, rasmali are all lovely as well. The sweets are made fresh daily in the back of the shop. Very popular with people giving gift baskets as presents loaded full of lovely sweets. Good friendly service too. Wish it wouldn’t shut at 9pm, would love to come in late for night time snacks.

I visited here on Friday 21st September 2018 to get some food for a party I was hosting, I rang ahead and placed my order for lamb and vegetable samosas and some vegetable pakora. I collected the order an hour later, it was mostly ready, I just waited 10 minutes for the pakora to be finished as everything had been cooked fresh in the kitchen at the back of the shop. It was nice to be able to see the staff cooking my order when standing in the shop as there are windows from the shop to the kitchen area. The staff where very friendly and the food was delicious and very reasonable priced, I will be trying some other items next time I visit. If you're catering for a party this place is well worth a try! They also have a very extensive range of sweets available.

The food here is superb. I highly recommend eating their snack options. Their chana/poori on the weekends is very underrated and in my opinion the best on Alum Rock Road. There's no eating area which I feel the business would benefit from. The service offered by the workers is excellent and being able to eat in would show that off. Check it out

Still the best pakora & Indian sweet shop in Birmingham. Their food is lovely & made fresh in the back of the shop each day. Everything I’ve had is tasty & more-ish. Opens about 10.30am each day till about 9pm. Well worth a visit. My regular weekly haunt.

One of the various sweet centres in the locality and with very competitive pricing. I personally like their Pakoray. Halva puri at the weekends is recommended but like everything else such do not come here if you are watching the calories.

I have lost count of the amount of times we have bought Mithai (Asian sweets) from here. Any special occasion and this is where we come. I have tried loads of Asian sweet shops and can't beat Bilals for quality, consistency and freshness

Not the worst place I’ve been to but equally I won’t be going back. Portion sizes weren’t great but weren’t overly small either. The food wasn’t exceptionally tasty however the restaurant was accommodating in my request not to put cardamon pods in the food which was appreciated.

The dishes lacked depth of flavour, and our side dishes were forgotten and we had to remind the staff we had ordered them, consequently our mains had gone cold by the time they arrived. The venue is nice but unfortunately the food and service is not quite upto scratch. Probably would not visit again.
