Big John's Erdington in Birmingham

I ordered and the person serving me was talking to a co-worker and laughing while taking my order and I found hair in my food. never going there again

If I could give 0 stars I would lol the state of the food orderd for the family as kids where over today spent just over £100 and the quality was shocking ofc I'm not gonna expect alot from a takeaway but the standards where so bad unbelievable Very cold food Very dry Messed up alot of the order and didn't give some items food was not edible Luckily I work for trading standards so will be investigating into this and getting health involved too Very Very bad See photos attached

Walked in and ordered a pizza but when selecting the toppings I was told there is a limit to 4 topping with extras at 50p each. Please update your signage John, as customers don't know this until the order is payed for, the 4 toppings is inadequate. Staff seemed disinterested and lacklustre when questioned. Shame as I've been coming here since its opening but I probably won't bother again.

I have tried every single Big Johns branch across Birmingham. The worst one is Erdington one so far. The workers don't have a desire to satisfy customers. Just for your taste buds; order from other branches...

Their foods always delicious and on point , the staff are always beyond sweet and kind , whether u buying food in the restaurant or delivering on just eat , they'll never disappoint. I'd highly recommend trying the Mix Kebab and Chips

Not the best branch around. Found hair on the chips, missing drink from a meal i ordered (they gave a straw though lol?). Curry sauce was too runny for my liking - other branches have more flavourful, thicker curry sauce. My burger was missing relish (i didn’t ask for this to be removed) Don’t think I will order from here again. Disappointing.

Ordered naan kebab. Literally the second a kebab was cut into a long hair was found tangled within inside the meat. Absolutely unacceptable! Will not be using again! And we were regular customers!

At the end of the night it's one of the few places open. You know what you're getting and it's reasonably priced. It is what it is

Awful food and bland, raw chips and sauces are like water. Service is very slow. They prefer to serve taxi drivers and load mouth yobs I will never go again. I felt like I was in danger. Needs to be looked into this place.

Didn’t get the kebab ordered with the right salad items, and didn’t receive the drink as part of the meal deal.

Why doesn't anybody read instructions? I asked for no lettuce,got lettuce ! I ordered burger sauce,and mint sauce on kebabs,didn't get, ordered curry sauce,missing,no salt and vinegar on chips.Such a shame

Food over cooked over sauces and over priced... so I have to update this review as it won't let me make a new one.. I visited again after having a taste for good old chicken and chips like back in the day.. only we're here today.. where the staff are very customer service lacking.. personality of a dead fish.. so unenthusiastic... its like they hate they're job to the max.. But anyway let's get down to the food... alot of chips shops are refrying there chips ... so instead of throwing them away or giving extra portions to prevent waste they're are refrying them.. yesss.. believe it it's true .. now you can tell this because the chips appear wrinkly.. over cooked .. dark and tasting horrible and no amount of salt and vinegar will help these dead chips .. now big John's are slightly clever hear.. as tge cook their chips lightly so when refired they don't look it lol.. but they are wrinkly on appearance also they have a weird chewy texture and the ends are so sharp they wreck your gums and almost break your teeth.. the chicken was a joke in portion size had I not walked away from the establishment already I would have taken this back .. chicken breast .. not a full breast may I add.. but half but a quarter size honestly it was a joke.. not freshly cooked like I'd asked because I didn't want the pieces in the cabinet they looked dry.

Don’t usually have problem with food from here but today was awful every item was stone cold , if it wasn’t for children being hungry then I would of sent it back , so had to microwave it , which made the taste not good

I have ordered food from here several times and have never had a problem. The food is rather nice especially their chips and veggie burgers. I also enjoyed the vegetarian pizza. The portion sizes are big here so if ordering chips you might want to share a box. Also there is no free parking near by but it is in most bus routes

i’m not happy, the delivery driver took advantage of having my name and address and decided to add me on social media. this makes me uncomfortable and it’s really not acceptable as i’m 16. and i look young this is not okay and i feel unsafe.

Disgusting food and unhygienic never recommend to anyone

Delivery was early and the man was very kind and followed the directions perfectly HOWEVER the restaurant DID NOT! I paid £16 for a meal I could NOT eat! The meal was cold and the battered mushrooms were petrified and shrivelled up and freezing cold! I said I only wanted salt as I am ALLERGIC to vinegar and they smothered my meal in vinegar and so I then after I ate a few chips and then smelled the chicken soaking in the vinegar I had to rush for my epipen to shoot myself with it! Disgusting!

I don’t know what it is about this place but the food quality seems to be getting worse. The food was cold and disgusting, some items were delivered crushed. I won’t be ordering again.

I recently visited Big John in Erdington and placed an order for masala fish with naan bread and salad, along with a soda. I specifically requested a large portion of fish and was informed that the total cost would be £11.98. However, when the masala fish was handed to me, it was much smaller than I had anticipated, only about five or six inches in size. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the staff, stating that I had asked for a large portion, not a normal one. They insisted that they only had one size available, which was not communicated to me at the time of ordering. I was disappointed and felt as though I had been overcharged for the small portion I received. I would have questioned this further, but the staff member mumbled something under their breath that I couldn't understand. In my opinion, if a customer requests a large portion and is given a small one, it is deceptive and the customer should be entitled to a refund.

Really loved Big John’s but since going to here more and more, the staff just doesn’t seem like they’re in a work environment constantly talking whilst customers are waiting to order, food has started to become a mess just all slapped together, cannot fault the woman that works here at all she seems the only one who knows how to do her job properly but the men are just rude and arrogant and when your foods done seem to just enjoy throwing it at you instead of politely passing it.

Delivery drivers was excellent as for the food first order of fish and chips the fish was spoiled and tasted horrid but the restaurant rectified the order so all was good

Food turned up stone cold. Had to heat it through for 20mins and food ultimately turned out soggy and awful. Review more related to delivery than restaurant time. Waste of money. Not happy at all.

I was already informed that the food will be delivered late, but the fries are soggy which means it has been sitting for long too before it has been delivered. All my dips are missing. The drink is not cold.

Cold food no sauces on items when asked no milkshake when ordered replaced with ice cream. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS. Chips also tasted mouldy and stale.

Ordered for delivery via the Uber eats app. Ordered a 12 inch pizza and a donner burger meal. Uber driver arrived with the order minus the pizza said he'd return to the shop to collect. Call the shop to double check person on the phone said contact Uber its not their responsibility. Having contacted uber settled down for what part of my meal they had delivered only to find my burger full of onion which I didnt ask for ask onion makes me sick so can't even just take it off. So basically paid £26 for some chips and a drink. Shop not interested in complaint and app wouldn't let me register a 2nd complaint about the burger. One regular customer that won't be ordering from them again as your complaints policy is rubbish as well as the customer service.

Ordered off the app. The order was redirected to this store. We waited 1hr 30mins with no update. They replaced the Milkshake to Ice cream. Missed the sauce on the chips and all the food was cold. Rude customer service when we called to chase up the order and was told we should be grateful they’re sending us food as they could’ve cancelled it. Absolute joke.

Driver tried to walked away with the money he owed me,Lied and said he had no more money to give me even tho i paid with a twenty pound note. If i don’t get a refund legal action will be taken

A very negative/ can't be bothered to work vibe. I wanted to order a cod fish wrap. Apparently all Big Johns store don't sell/make wraps. In any event; I ordered cod fish with chips and drinks. Order came to about £9.50. Chips were chunky and not fresh. I think as there was no customers inside so they just used the previous batch of chips. Even as I was ordering; another lady came back to return her wings as they were not cooked properly. Staff are quite lackadaisical when it comes to taking and preparing orders. Just no energy. There's no free parking nearby.

Ordered from these guys a few times but there's just no consistency, food was freezing cold, and 1 of my burgers was wrong. Called customer service, guy on the phone got defensive and was extremely rude and basically tried to tell me it was cold because I ordered late at night. Definitely will not be getting my money again.

Fast food,for parson's that like that stuff (40 & under or a quick snack) I just stay off them 🏃👍🏾.
