Very small portions for the price! A regular is a small. I felt like i had a snack after eating my meal. If you want a lunch or a light dinner… this place is alright :(

The food was very very greasy and had no flavour.

first time ordering. yum yum. Food arrived hot, fresh and tasty.

Ordered through uber eats for the first time, food came boiling hot and they wrapped everything in tin foil to keep it hot which many places don’t bother to do, considering it was a 15 minute drive away i was shocked how fresh and hot it was when the order arrived. Best cods roe iv ever had every other chippy its soggy and horrible, here its cooked properly snd batter is crispy how it should be. Chips were lovely, only criticism is i think the large portion of chips is abit small but apart from that no complaints, fantastic food.

Completely wrong order delivered, came from a different restaurant altogether. Can't get my order. Can't contact driver. So I'm left without my food and the person that ordered the one I got will also go hungry. Driver issue.

Absolutely horrible, I'm not well and though a regular at the place have placed a couple of orders to be delivered, please I urge you not to do so, I spent about 20 minutes trying to explain to the deliveroo driver where I was as he seemed to be illiterate and when I called the shop Big Fry they basically shrugged and said not their problem 🥺 horrible cold food that I HAD to pay for issued. Badly handled Big Fry.

Edit: upped review as food and friendliness has improved. Older lady still miserable. --- Not great food but good they do lunchtime specials. The large cod is smaller than most fish and chip shop's regular size! So that's very expensive Cod! Cod was made to order, but I don't know if it's because of the batter they use - the cod was dry. Chips are a mixture of normal cut and thin cut, as per a previous reviewer - a bit on the dry side and the thin cut chips a bit too crispy. Have had pies twice - both times the pastry was hard and dry. As per previous reviews, staff are generally unfriendly and look miserable. Some don't even say hello to you! This is based on multiple visits. The lunchtime specials is on the electronic display so you have to wait a bit to see the specials page whilst it rotates to other screens. Would be good if the specials were on a fixed poster/display!

I used just eat to get my food delivered was not expecting to have to pick it up.

Dreadful, pricey and a waste of time. They messed up with my order, they offered to make it right and when I went to pick it up, they charged me again. Pointless to say that they will not see me again.

An excellent delivery service. Our food was lovely and hot especially as it was delivered in this horrible weather. Our fish and chips tasted delicious.

Portions for the kids meals were very small. Handful of chips and the sausage was very tiny. I know kids portions are smaller but they are a lot less this time we ordered as ordered from here before and there was a lot more in the quantity. The kids cod was a good size just chip portion was very small and sausage small

Haven’t eaten fish and chips in years, but we were feeling hungry after our visit to the bathroom shop along the road. Really glad we chose this joint; absolutely perfect cod and chips, light, flavoursome and fresh as a daisy. Top marks too for the biodegradable boxes and carrier bag.

I’m a first time customer and I can’t understand the bad reviews at all, Ordered large chips cod bites sausage and curry sauce and it was more than enough for me and my two boys. Lovely crispy batter Will be returning again

This is my fifth time here, and I wouldn’t recommend buying from this place. I ordered and paid for a large cod, but the lady keeps giving me a regular size. What am I even paying for? This feels like a scam.

Food was over 45 minutes late and cold when it arrived! Not worth the money today!

Ordered via a third party a little while ago and while it arrived hot and quickly the chips were good but the fish was very overcooked, not great very dry , I messaged the shop who was very quick to respond and rectify the situation , he gave me a couple of vouchers to use which we since have , our food was as Iv always had in the past fantastic , I’d definitely recommend this place Iv used it more than a few times in the past , it was just bone of those things . Your delivery man put up our order was delivered and we had not receive it he then turned up 5 minutes late with it this is not good as I phoned Big fish to complain and was not there fault

Never arrived hit close on the map then just nothing so either someone delivered to the wrong house or it was stolen by the courier not happy requested a refund.

Found the lady serving quite rude! Food standards are not what they use to be which was a shame. Wouldn’t recommend the fish & chip shop at all. The food ordered was edible.

Had portion of chips .portion was very small for the cost .small portion 3.20 and where very soggy and that's was not because of the vinager. Worst chips I've ever had won't be returning. Over priced

Oder take out Fish Place and scampy chips. Sad to say chips very oily and soggy.I dont mind to wait little bit longer to get nice crispy chips.

Very disappointed we have been having f&c from your shop for years. The food today awful i am sorry to say normally would give 5* but not today.chips were mainly burnt and fish hard overcooked as were the sausages really bad.Also order bottle of ketchup which i was charge recieved satchet .spent over £50 for the food today.unfortunately

have been loyal to this chippy for years and it was always excellent, but quality is very patchy now. had a piece of rock that was thin and so overcooked it was like shoe leather. will reluctantly try somewhere else. great delivery by driver though.

first time ordering from big fry and I'm very impressed. Got regular cod and chips but the portion still quite a lot. Fish was soft and it was still piping hot when it arrived.

Excellent Gluten Free! Ordered Gluten free Haddock, battered sausage and large chips and it was honestly the nicest gluten free fish and chips I’ve have in ages. Haddock especially. The batter was perfect, really well done, light and very crispy and the fish was moist and not overcooked. Will definitely be back for the lovely fish and chips again soon, thanks!

I never thought I'd be disappointed but today the curry sauce was watery and honestly tasted like it had been made with granuals! The batter on the fish was very greasy and soggy, sorry but we won't be back.

The food is pricey but it's normally ok, I don't like the staff though most of them have a face like a slapped bum, Or as friendly as a rabid rottweiler. It's just not a nice atmosphere at all.

Always a favourite choice for food, never had a bad meal from here, cheese and bacon burger is my recommendation!

1hour and 40mins to get some fish and chips. Shocking! Cannot recommend. I was within time slot. That 1hr 40, was how long it took, it wasn’t late. Greasy, dry and chewy fish. Poor chips. Peas were good.

Just like everything these days it's very expensive, like over 4 quid for a large chips. But the food is ok.

First off the staff were friendly and the place looks clean. That's about as good as it gets. Chips were like cardboard, sat in the tray for far too long. Pie was rock hard, the top crust just crumbled to pieces. Saveloy was like chewing an old school rubber. Very expensive, £4.50 for a pie!! Just a pie, not pie and chips. Will not go back and would not advise others to go.

Got it delivered all the onion rings, battered sausages and chips were all soggy. The chips were also bad loads of black bits all over them. Used to come here quiet a lot but very dissapointed

Great food, I’m Gluten Free and the fish is delicious, I always request my chips separate to fish as it can get slightly soggy batter, by the time I get home.

Quality and taste, amazing fish and chip shop the best in the Farnborough and aldershot area, thank God the parking is back can enjoy it every weekend again

Great place for fish and chips!! It is the only place I would recommend in Aldershot. For me, it's the only fish and chip shop that reminds me of my hometown in North Yorkshire. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Quality fish and chips, always served fresh and always hot.

Considering I normally buy direct from the shop itself, where the portion sizes for chips are typically bursting out of the package. I was disappointed when having ordered via Deliveroo, that the portion size of the chips was barely 1/4 full. I also ordered two large sausages expecting them to be packaged separately instead, one sausage was placed on each serving of chips. Hardly ideal considering one portion of chips was for someone who doesn’t eat pork! Utterly disappointed.

The 2nd best chip shop in North Camp. Nice fish cooked freshly to order with a light, crisp batter and reasonable portion sizes. The chips weren’t great though - soggy texture, and tasted like they had been sitting around too long before serving. Cod, small chips and mushy peas cost £12.40.

The chips were really poor and that’s supposed to be the reason behind the shops name, thanks for the “ Dog Ends Dodgems”

Ordered take aways from them 3 times in the last two months. First order - cod and chips was delivered with old and not fresh fish. Neither my son nor myself finished it. Second order of cod and chips just made the grade. Thought I would try something different and ordered plaice and chips yesterday. An absolute disaster. Fish was again old and not fresh and the batter was extremely thick and oily. Not recommended if you like your fish lightly battered and fresh.

Very disappointed. I drove across Farnborough as last time I ate here years ago it was fantastic. Over £20 for 2 soggy bits of fish, and a tiny portion of soggy chips. These are the worst fish and chips I have ever had. Edit.. No idea why the owner responded saying it was cooked to order. I never said it wasn't. I said it was soggy as the pictures show. I totally agree, it was cooked to order. Just badly! The manager has a massive attitude problem judging by his comments. No wonder the food is so terrible and no one smiles in there.
