Great fish and chips and great staff. What do you expect from west yorkshire hospitality?

Always my first call when travelling up from the south. Always loved the food but unfortunately this time the fish was poor. Not fresh at all. Really disappointing.

A little disappointed with the food

A bit hit and miss. Last time they were cracking. New young lad doing the frying. Probably the nicest I've had from there over many years. The time before that they were manky. And threw them away. Consistency is the name of the game. 13.08.23 Undercooked tasteless fish. Cooked in veg oil. The fish was undercooked and half raw inside. Threw the fish away.

I always use this chippy now wouldn't go anywhere else, they have revapped the decor, very clean, fantastic customer service, take card payments, best chippy in allerton!!

Amazing customer service I ordered a chip butty and it was by far the best and most tastiest I have ever had the staff are very polite and helpful. Highly recommended 👍

Gone to pot, waiting is ridiculous, telephone orders take priority over customers stood in shop, used this place for years, not anymore 😠

Good food great staff and the odd hilarious drunk

Never tried the food, couldn't get passed the horrible customer service. The two girls behind the counter looked like they was forced to work and serve. If you domt want to serve get another job. Menu looked overpriced 7 pound for fish and chips, would have still purchased though but having to beg to be served then pay over the odds when theres several chip shops just as good within 2miles. Cant comment on the quality of food but not fussed about trying either, rather not pay my money to help pay wages for two arrogant scruffy looking women.

This place has sold consistently great fish and chips going back to when we moved to Allerton in 1986. Fair prices as well and if you like a quality mushy pea or two, as I do, then this is the chippy for you.

Lovely chippy, always consistent food wise and same goes for their hours- not one of those chippies where you've got to think what day it is to know if they're open. With Hilltop if you're hungry, they're open, no matter the day. (Except for breakfast!)

Never go anywhere else, good food good prices. Simple as.

Good fish and chips, didn't have to wait to long. Looked clean and tidy and organised. Wasn't expensive. Parking up nearby was easy, at the spaces available just past the bus stop. Fish was cooked to order, Nicely coated in crisp batter. Chips were done well. Good selection of carbonated drinks , kept cool in a fridge. None of the food was greasy. I had takeout, so everything was wrapped in paper.

Soggy batter, soggy chips, not as good as it was a couple of years ago, owner needs to employ a new employee to do the frying

This was always a great fish n chip shop. Still using beef dripping instead of harmful modern oils but please don't dilute the vinegar!!
