Bierkeller in Manchester

Horrible! We have been there for a football night. But we have been waiting our food all night long and we are still waiting. They did not advise us about that when we ordered. They did not do any discount or whatever, or excuses and they have been insulting. In my opinion this is a cash machine nothing more. At the end I went to the kitchen and the chief told me that it was closed and I finally got a refund but nothing more.

Had a fun night, live band and comedian were great. Drinks were good although didn't get pretzel that was supposed to be included. Staff friendly enjoyed our night

I've been coming here every Sunday and have always had fantastic service from all the staff, especially James who always goes above and beyond to sort me and my friends out with food and drinks alike. Always love coming in and always leave happy. Thank you to the team at Bierkeller Manchester.

Watched a Premier League match here on Sunday, in the back room downstairs. Pre-booked so got a great table right in front of the big screen (well worth pre-booking if it's a popular event, £20pp deposit seemed a lot but was soon spent over a couple of hours so not an issue). Table service was slow but not the waitress' fault as it seemed she was on her own serving lots of tables so we just went to the bar. Had a pretzel which was only so-so (hardly any salt, missed the dip off on delivery to the table). Good selection of drinks. Great atmosphere. Would definitely book here again to watch football.

We booked the sports package for a stag do of 27 boys. 5 packages gave us 10 beer towers, 5 platters of food and the hire of some crackin bar games for the duration of our stay. The atmosphere was bang on for relaxing, having pints with the guys and for our needs as a stag do. We felt we were able to enjoy the evening without being judged for being a stag do. Highly recommended for such events.

We were here for our anniversary. We came in at 12:10am asked for an hour of pool. The bartender said we close before you’ll finish which is at 1am. So we agreed with 30 mins and got a drink each. 15 minutes ish in, the security said can we speed up once we finish pool because they are getting ready to close. 6 minutes later we end the game early because we felt awkward being there and then the security asked us to hurry and leave. We lost 10 mins of pool and i didn’t get to finish my drink as we felt pressured to leave. Never happened before and after this experience we might not to come again.

Booked the Bierkeller live experience for a stag do. Plenty of people in and a great stand up for the first half, went round the room and found all the stags/hens and birthdays. Then introduced the live band who were a lounge band with a great singer, horrific keyboard player and a drummer. Killed the mood, nobody up dancing when next door was bouncing with a dj on. Was really disappointing. Dj then came on in the main room and everything livened up, but by that time most groups had walked out and gone elsewhere.

Booked a games package. Had to wait more than half an hour to get on the pool table and when we did the table was not level ! Member of staff kindly moved us to another table but even that one wasn’t level either! The beer tower (Erdinger) was very good. The food platter for 5 was tasty but only came with one portion of fries- nowhere near enough for 5 people. Table service was erratic to say the least but when we did interact with the staff they were very professional. The place is bustling and has a lively atmosphere but when £100 has been paid in advance I expect everything to be perfect. It wasn’t.

Definitely worth taking the second trip down to the Bierkeller. Large premises with lots of screens to watch sports. Food and drink can also be purchased. Poor phone coverage is saved by free WiFi.

Went to the new comedy store here. Bar was mucky, glasses not clean, had to go to another bar for red wine, first glass was off, returned it, Second glass was marginally better. Just left it. Service was slow. Ordered chicken wings,came out to table with no offer of sauce or napkins etc. asked and waitress was happy to help. The toilets are, erm, like an abandoned and vandalised building. Avoid at all costs 😳 The atmosphere was the best part, the location is good. The comedy night was fun. Maybe the bar was just an off night & avoid the loo’s?!

Visited yesterday 24.2.24 in all my years of drinking in bars I have never been in such a dirty disgusting public toilet no toilet seats no toilet roll urine on the floor and a toilet with a explosion of excrement in the bowl inspite of cleaner being on site I would never visit the bierkeller manchester again clearly a management review needs to be addressed.

Popped in for a game of pool and shuffleboard. Big place, very quiet but it was a Wednesday afternoon. Lots of tvs showing various sports will be a good venue for England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 in the Euros. Toilets were a bit smelly and in need of a decent clean but overall we had a good time 👏

Went here for the Super Bowl, service was brilliant. It was mad busy and the staff deserve a bonus for the service given. The food was delicious. Couldn’t recommend anymore

Went for the Superbowl party. Beer was shocking, toilets had been absolutely destroyed and the place was full of drunken herberts. I imagine the place is slightly less harrowing on a quiet day.

Then we were waiting 30 mins for our drinks. This is due to how many people they squeezed into the room. It was difficult weaving through tables and getting past people to get to the toilet. The food was awful for what we paid. This is the last time I’ll be going Bierkeller, staff were also very rude.

Went there for the Super Bowl. Positives: throughout the booking process all the staff were helpful and communicative with prompt responses; loads of screens to watch the football on; a good atmosphere; on paper the food menu was ideal for a sports bar; steins are a nice size option to have. Negatives: bought the £35 package and really not sure what exactly we got for the extra money?; tables were packed in, it was difficult getting to the tables in the middle and I was painfully crushed up against our table whenever anybody squeezed past behind me; table service disappeared after the first round of drinks; the pre-ordered food, which was fairly average, was delivered before half our group had even arrived; for the first few rounds queuing at the bar took ages - too few staff; the toilets were utterly grim, and the tap had been ripped out so you couldn't wash your hands; the wi-fi didn't work and there was no phone signal.

Tried to speak to what appeared to be a manager and he looked like he couldn’t of cared less. He was actually answering me back in a argumentative manner. This is the last time I’ll be going Bierkeller, it’s a disgrace. Toilets were absolutely terrible, broken doors and the taps were nearly all broken. The Handdryer was also broken which then you feel forced to pay the chap in the toilet for giving you a paper towel. What I also found strange is that they had 3 chaps that had there own podcast playing on the big screen when the Super Bowl buildup was on. So over 100 people that have paid £35 VIP package were forced to watch a very boring irrelevant podcast, I approached the manager and said if we can have the buildup on and they just turned a blind eye. It was actually laughable. I saw a few people get up and leave as they agreed with what I said.

The men's toilets were absolutely trashed. There was a sink in the urinal and the corridor smelt like a river of wee. The women's toilets not so bad until you washed your hands and the skin was almost melted off. Both reported to seemingly unbothered staff. The layout of the tables outside the toilets not the best as if people were sat there the entrance would be blocked.

Sat here from 1.30 to watch the rugby. At 4.59, waitress put down a sheet saying table reserved from 5 and then got bouncer down to kick us off the table despite us ordering food and drinks. We had to move 5 minutes before half time.

Noisy, poor reception and chaotic setup

Brilliant place to go for a night out & also to watch sports. 3 rooms with differant things going on in each one.

Unfortunately this was a very poor example of a bierkeller. We visited on 4/2/24 the staff did not seem like they wanted to be there . The toilets were absolutely disgusting with what looked like empty drug packets and very unclean and unhygienic photo will be added. So for this reason we would not recommend this venue especially with the prices for the beer you would expect alot more.

Went for the comedy store which was great

We went for a Christmas Party in Shooters Bar. Plenty of games, Pool tables, Darts board, Shuffleboards and Beer Pong. Really good value for money and lovely staff :)

£100 food beer and pool deal was great value for money, would definitely do it again.

Attended a comedy night, which was okay up until the last act. The last act (Jenny Hart) was terrible and most people walked out, it wasn’t funny it was offensive and weird. Bierkellar itself was cold to the point I sat with my coat on all night. Expensive drinks and dirty toilets. To be honest it was pretty rough!

Work’s Christmas Party Great service from Josh, excellent food, good atmosphere . Great place. Would highly recommend

There's nothing remotely German about this place. Just a big sports bar with no atmosphere. We had booked the beer pong package, which took a few emails backwards and forwards to reiterate what we had booked. The online booking system obviously needs improvement. When we arrived there was again confusion as the staff didn't really know what to do. The toilets were absolutely disgraceful with doors broken, taps loose and the hand dryer hanging off the wall. It looked like they had been this way for some time with no attempt to make them safe, let alone sanitary to use. The bar itself wasn't much cleaner either. So we avoided the food entirely. Avoid

Good fun at the Christmas show. There was a good selection of drinks to choose from to suit everyone. These were pre-ordered and arrived shortly after being seated. The only negative was that we arrived promptly to the venue as requested, but the event room was not ready for a further 15 mins so we had to queue. Otherwise had a great time!

Busy city centre venue inside the Printworks for a work festive event. Copes well with the numbers of people by trays of buffet food and bottled ales - Newcastle Brown ! - to cater for most drinkers' tastes.

Comedy store event - great comedians, shame about the crowd! A bit ropey! The shooters bar is good after 8pm for a drink and dance! Security is a bit slack !!! £35 for a round for 4!

I organised this night/event for myself and my group of friends as one of us is going travelling and we were using this night as a send off. The event is advertised on the website and on email confirmations when booking that the doors open at 8:45pm, when we arrived at this time we were then told to leave the room in which the event takes place as it wasn't ready, we asked how long it would be until it opened to which we rudely got a response of "its ready when its ready" and my friends got physically shood out the door - 40minutes later we were then allowed into the room to then all be given disgust tasting watered down cocktails and dry stale pretzels. Secondly, the event is advertised as an interactive session with an ommpah band and lots of games, what an absolute lie this has been advertised as? The band was just a duo singing chart hits and there were absolutely interactive games played the whole time. Nothing as described on socials, website and in the confirmation email. This is the first time for alot of us out of my friendship group which we have been to the bierkeller and confirm we will not be returning again. Do not waste your time or money booking on the "livebierkeller events" as it as complete shambles and disappointment and is nothing as described.

Oktoberfest not as advertised - disappointing night, a group of us had booked the oktoberfest event which was advertised as a German themed night with a host who would be playing interactive games and music. We waited 40 minutes to be seated in the room, going back and being told multiple times "it'll be ready when we're ready" and being physically shooed out the door. The stein cocktails were vile, tasted just like juice with no alcohol and the pretzels were dry and stale. The night had absolutely no german theme whatsoever, just some random live band playing cover songs of chart music. We would have been as well saving our £20pp and going to a bar elsewhere

Overall a 3 star review Keller itself and the staff were wonderful what let It down was the food real Bavarian/german bierkeller food ?? Definitely not your doing so well why let it down with the food where were the schweinsaxe and gravy ? Weisswurst, frikadellan , schnitzel to name but a few and to serve curry wurst with fries absolutely not !! By the way your cheese stuffed wurst is called a Käsekrainer

Decent venue, I remember it being cheaper a couple of years ago. Has a stein always cost the exact same as 2 pint glasses?

Went twice in the past couple of weeks. First was for an event which was good fun, the second was for casual drinks. On both occasions staffing was a slight issue with the event being understaffed for the demand and with the casual drinks being left stood at the bar whilst the bartender silently walked off leaving the top floor unattended for several minutes. Additionally top floor (entry level at printworks) has a broken pool table with no signage. Put a quid in and not all the balls came out. Asked at bar and completely disinterested, said we could have one spare ball kept behind the bar but the cues were £6 and to hire for 30 minutes. Not an awful experience but definitely not a good one. On a positive note they did show live sports and when emailing with the events coordinator prior to the original visit she was incredibly kind and helpful.

Booked a table with a non refundable deposit at 6pm for the rugby World Cup final for 4 of us. 2 couples. Food was awful. Limited menu but being a German themed bar and restaurant they had no German food left at 6pm ! . Literally only cheap chicken nuggets and chicken wings which our partners didn’t like..we resorted to crisps from the bar which also run out !! Got the order completely wrong and still billed us £17.95 for a little basket of soggy chicken nuggets. Table service started good then once busy drinks never arrived so went to the counter and asked as we were 15 mins with no drinks and said we will have to queue at the bar from now on. Not enough staff on duty for a Saturday night. Just could not get served and when we did the staff were extremely slow. Missed literally half the game queueing at the bar. Completely overcrowded and dangerous. Waiting staff squeezed another table next to ours so I had to sit on the other end of the table as I literally couldn’t sit there anymore with no space. Was very difficult to get to the bathrooms due to the table layout and also had to move or stand up every 30 seconds so people could pass by my table this entire set up presented a huge fire safety risk. We actually said this whole day in there that heavens forbid a fire breaks out. Won’t be going back anytime soon.

We went here for the Oktoberfest night, which i was somewhat familiar with having been to a bierkeller in Sheffield before.. the website states that there will be an oompah inspired band.. but we just got stags, hens and a random band. If you want a tacky night out, with expensive prices and no steins then this is the place. We did get a stein each but had to pre-order them, on the menu but couldn’t order them afterwards and barely any beers, let alone German ones to order that was available. Really disappointed in the blatant false advertising on the website. We will not be back.

Came here last night for the City/United Derby and had a great night. Atmosphere was fantastic, we had a great view of the match, and security kept everything safe 👍

Absolutely no german themed music, apparently changed back in April but the website hasn’t. Steins were only available with pre-order, can’t order them afterwards. Was like Blackpool on a Saturday night, and if we wanted that we’d have gone there! Never coming back.

Fries were great, vegan chicken wings were more like vegan fish fingers - didn’t taste nice and cost a tenner for five. Felt very expensive for what they were. Atmosphere was good for a derby, bouncers were great as usual.

The interesting thing about this is the variety of European Beer and Stout you can get here. The large venue and multiple Bar rooms in a hidden section of printworks with sports games and shows.

Came to Bierkeller for the Comedy Store as a team event. We purchased food and drinks whilst we were there too. The food was great and fast. They didn't have what I'd ordered so was offered anything else on the menu and was not expected to make additional payments to cover the cost which was a kind offer. We have lots of dietary requirements so made use of the veggie and vegan options which I'm told were really tasty. The Comedy Store was fantastic, a colleague mentioned she doesn't usually find these events funny but really enjoyed and laughed at the comics jokes. Overall the team had a great experience and we would all recommend and return again.

Booked for Oktoberfest expecting an Oompah style experience. Very disappointed as the "show" was a local band playing normal chart style numbers. When the food turned up they may should have saved themselves the trouble of the sauce pots as there was virtually nothing in them. We nearly left after 45 minutes as the place was starting to empty but when the rugby finished they obviously let anyone in and things got a little better. A very misleading way to sell anbd advertise this "event". Would not recommend at all. Poor.

Went to watch the comedy store on a Fri night. Was an ace night. Food and drinks were ordered at the table through an app and were delivered promptly. Would definitely recommend a visit

Our rugby team came down on a Wednesday night and it was unreal, the staff were having a good laugh along with us and the drinks were quality. We’ll be back 100%

Love the brunch eventa that they hold here!! Its Weird cause I felt like I was in the club at midday and home for 5pm. Food wasn't the greatest, and 1 teaspoon of sace to accompany bonless chincken wings (chicken strips) wasn't enough. But yeh, this was me, doing what I do best.....drinking & dancing.

Booked for oktoberfest a week in advance. Didn't have our booking, stuck us at the back of the room, had to wait ages to be served and other than the beer, there was nothing else even remotely German about the night which really was the icing on the cake. The band were good but not one remotely oktoberfesty song. Might as well have gone to a local karaoke and saved the £20

Habanero wings were good, Manager was inconsiderate, rude when approached politely to ask to put the boxing on the main screen, apparently it’s better to just have ads on in a sports bar. Cheers fella

Exceptional team, fantastic ambiance, and top-notch selection of brews. My stag do at this spot was a blast, especially with the enjoyable rounds of shuffleboard adding to the memorable experience!

A group of us booked for Saturday night as part of a weekend in Manchester. Everything about the time we spent there was pretty much sub par. We arrived to find the tables we had reserved had people on them already( to be fair on this occasion the server resolved the matter efficiently). From that point on the night got worse our initial drinks order was wrong, as was the subsequent food order. The food when it arrives was dreadful, stale buns, cardboard like pizza crusts and dry chicken in some way featured on everyone’s food. During this time I went to order additional drinks, the server then took 15minutes to make two basic cocktails and a shot. The espresso martini was poured over ice (despite my protests that it shouldn’t be and being told in no uncertain terms that it was what the recipe said) then I was told they didn’t know how to close out our tab and after 10 minutes I then managed to ask our initial server who again resolved it quickly. Several of the party then tried getting served only for the bar to be so understaffed they waited ages only for the first ones to be served at the same speed as I had earlier and then their order was poured wrong, added to the fact the music suddenly jumped to a level that meant no sense of conversation could be had, we swiftly left. I appreciate the music is a personal preference and many might love that but the standard of customer service and food as a whole was shocking.

Visited yesterday Sunday 27th Aug for the Bodega Soul Festival by time we left I was rammed, couple gripes bar prices quite steep we visit a few places in town and this for now most expensive, we ordered food, bit of a struggle as couldn't find table number digit was missing bar was quiet staff member never came over I has to take a picture to show the incomplete number to prove issue no effort to assist, and your toilets OMG they are not good , tiles missing, metal pieces raised and rusting around sink area , locks missing off doors , struggling to find one with loo paper, defo not been cleaned in a whole as some cubicles had cobwebs I was expecting a tarantula to.pop out of, smell not good and that was from opening, hubby said by the end of the night the gents were swimming underfoot.yakk

Great show give the food a miss

The new venue for the Comedy Store in the Bierkeller is not suitable for comedy. Too much noise from the bar next door, and it seems people are there to drink and get drunk rather than enjoy the comedy. Lots of people are getting up mid-sets to get drinks, and even walking past the stage with no remorse. Unfortunately disappointed. There is not a good atmosphere here. The comedians were good though, despite all the distractions and noise.

Watched the women's world Cup finals here, which had an amazing atmosphere, Drinks were good quality and a good selection. I'm not sure if they were short staffed, but it was table service only and waited over 45 minutes without a drink. Also, they had some breakfast food on which wasn't the best. Overall, it was a good experience

Good place for watching soccer games

Visited the Comedy Store on Saturday for the first time at the Bierkeller. I have to say, it's totally spoilt it being at this venue, the atmosphere is totally different, there is so much noise from the bar next to the room, this disturbed some of the acts. The whole place is grubby, definitely won't go back, it's such shame as we loved the other place.

The clue's in the name: Bier Keller. They have one job: to serve beer and other drinks to paying customers efficiently. But they can't do that. The time it takes to get served here is terrible. Just before the next Comedy Store act came on there were just three of us at the bar, keen to get back for the show but the bar staff decided that was a good time to clean glasses instead of serving the few remaining customers. Did they attend the customer service course or did they fall asleep during it? Anyone can pull a pint but these guys make it look like a Herculean task and no apology when you point out how ridiculous their "service" is. I thought the comics were on stage, not behind the bar. The MC ended the show by asking for a round of applause for the bar staff "who are the engine room of the Bier Keller". Regrettably a 2mph, 1bhp, two-stroke out of a Trabant. Plenty of other places to take my business so won't be rushing back.

Huge venue with plenty of different spaces. Went as part of a Stag Do package - had a £100 bar tab which was easy to set up and pay the extra at the end. Staff very helpful, good selection of drinks and plenty of screens to watch sport.

Beer had a strange smell as if the pipes needed cleaning.

My experiance at bierkeller was great, the food, the atomsphere for the man city vs burnley was incredible, we ordered, boneless wings and fries, salt n chicken pizza and a wings platter, all cooked to perfection, levi the bar maid was so friendly and attentive, Mo the security was a great, although security he was more of a host, i would deffo reccomend this bar for people who want a bit of variety in where they are spending the night, they also do shows such as comedy night , live music and other activities. Thank you and see you again in the future

I came last Saturday early noon introducing a friend to Bierkeller and the atmosphere I built up in his head was completely ruined by an obnoxious function room next door. I was introduced to Bierkeller just before COVID and never experienced this before, so maybe it's always been here, but their music was overlapping the bar music which was causing us issues with hearing each other and the room was physically shaking at times with the bass. In attendance of this room was a horrendous, tone deaf rapper who, despite being next door, we could hear over our conversation which at times was taking place in each others' ears. The reputation of this place has well and truly been wobbled for me and we ended up leaving for Walkabout.

Just generally reslly bad… first the beer. Seems they serve the beer in the same plastic steins as the cocktails as my glass smelled like tropical punch or mango of some sort… if you done that in Germany the place would be closed down…. Service was friendly tho. Food was Attrocious, on the menu it says a supersized pretzel.. I’ve been to Munich 9 times so I guessed I’d be getting a beer hall style pretzel… no it was a tiny 69p pretzel you’d get in Lidl… and to top it off it was microwaved … what a shambles guys pull your finger out

Had a fantastic night..danced sang and laughed ourselves silly, fun night out..strawberry Früli was delicious and staff were always close by in case of accidents which can happen when you dance on benches! 🤕 Fortunately all our party came home uninjured 😃

Although i understand we visited during the daytime on a weekday, the atmosphere was odd / dead considering there were a few people playing pool. The beer was terrible, they need to clean their lines. The pool table we used needs replacing or height adjusting. The balls had a mind of their own. One of the shuffleboard also needs replacing, it doesn't score. Overall, it all felt a bit dated and lots of things need replacing including a smashed glass on the door leading to the toilet. Considering this was supposed to be a gaming venue, it was very disappointing. Playing some music might add to the atmosphere.

This place was empty when I was there but was during the day great beer though

Increadable afternoon and evening here celebrating my sons stag do ,great atmosphere ,beers ,cocktails, evening band were fabulous music for everyone .Special thanks to Ellie and Ria you gave us 100 per cent and made us brummies feel so welcome. Thank you .

Great party atmosphere as you always get on a bierkeller

First the picture of the women sat outside is not the bierkeller. So turned up thinking wtf have we paid for it’s inside the sports bar in its own private room. once the music starts anyone can walk in so if you don’t want a table I would just turn up. The band was brilliant but it was an Irish band not and oopha band so if you want a proper bierkeller experience check the band first. No real games it’s not like an Oktoberfest it’s more like a live music venue with some folks in braverian outfits. The evening was what you make it we were dancing and having a good time as we loved the music but I won’t be back. The smell of stale beer and bad cocktails even for £12 for a two pint cocktail couldn’t change my mind

Attended a comedy show. Grumpy door staff when entering the hall. Service at the bar took forever so didn't bother buying anymore drinks. A lot of female toilets either out of order, no toilet roll or covered in cobwebs. Really noisy in the hall to the point that you couldn't even hear the comedian at times. If you want to watch a comedy show, there are plenty of other establishments in Manchester where you will have a much better experience. Will never be returning to this venue.

Big venue, plenty of space. Great service. Good selection of drinks. Good food. Discount for BLC holders and armed forces. Friendly staff.
