We enjoyed the food and the service however the restaurant was a little cramped. Maybe it would be a better idea to take away some of the tables so that diners are not so close to each other. When another couple arrived, they were given a table next to us. It was that close that they had to move the table so that they could sit down and when they were sat down we were bumping elbow as we ate! But that aside, the food was good and quick.

Found this place as we were leaving the Prince Edward theatre. We both tried specials of the day. Supremo Pollo was good, as was the farfelle alfredo with chicken and mushrooms. House red was not bad and the whole meal cost was reasonable. Don't expect a typical Stateside Italian restaurant experience. Meals arrive via dumb waiter, and are served piping hot by your servers (who speak Italian much more fluently than English). Don't agree with other posted reviews. Our experience was positive.

I took my partner to the West End on the 12th August to see 'We Will Rock You' (which was amazing) and we usualy visit 'Amalfi' restaurant up the road in Old Compton..a lovely little Italian Restaurant. However, after taking a couple of seats outside there was a big disturbance when a drunken man fell in front of us and cut his head open...he was seen to by some passers by so we left it as wasn't ideal haveing a romantic meal infront of ambulances etc. We looked around for half an hour unable to make a decision before we got fed up and went into what looked a cute, cosy Italian Trattoria...When we entered, the place was stock empty....we didnt listen to our instincts..the staff were all hanging around chatting in a high volume Italian. Hardly welcoming or professional....we were met and sat down by the window (there's a surprise) and were given a couple of mini tomato bruschetta's which were quite pleasant . However everything from there was downhill; we ordered an anti pasti cold meat plate...this was awful ; the meat looked unappertizing, was basically flavourless and looked 'worn'. The plate was garnished with a poxy bit of parsley and grated carrot....the only negative superlative I can use is 'crap'...always listen to your instincts. This dish was £13!! You would expect something decent for that.. In Amalfi's you have a platter with lovely quality hams, olives, sundried tomatoes, mozarella, crispbreads etc etc - lovely. For main course my girlfriend ordered an oven baked stuffed pancake with cheese and tomato etc..her dish was clearly pre cooked and just stuck in a microwave....the food had stuck to the bottom of the casserole dish, was wishy washy in appearance..but it didhave a little bit of parsely sprinkled around the edge...that made it alright !!!! I ordered Veal Chop..an Italian classic...well I must say the potatoes were edible, though not cooked fresh. The salad on the side was a bit, and i mean a teaspoon worth of insipid carrot and limp lettuce.. just awful. The Veal was 60% gristle and bone, the meat was overcooked and dry, tasteless, unseasoned...chewy as hell. Come on guys ; what is this crap? A veal chop should be beautifully seasoned ; flame grilled ; succulent and tasty. This was none of these and less. All the while the staff were hanging around chatting, smoking by the front window...the serving staff were polite but inexperienced and by then knew that I was pissed off....always listen to your instincts. The male member of staff took our money, £50, probably because the female staff was wary that we were dissatisfied. We did not complain because we are just not like that and I didnt want to cause a scene on my girlfriends birthday...i didnt say thankyou and we left. I would not pay £5 for this meal..they are an insult to their Italian culinary heritage. Italian food and ingredients are world renowned. This place should be world renowned for shockingly mediocre 'grub'. We both joked that we would have been far more satisfied with a £1.49 macdonalds doublecheeseburger. At least you know what you are getting and at least it is tasty. The restaurant overlooked some scafolding and an adult video/lap dancing bar/shop. This was the height of romanticism...not the restaurants fault I suppose but I guess this matches their overall restaurant quality. Once again...always listen to your instincts....and tripadvisor.....

The place looked great from the street. Thank God the food was quite good because everything else did not measure up. The staff seemed as if they were doing you a favor. Talk about cramped. The restaurant was not yet that busy but they insisted we sit in a heavy traffic area. Many an Italian bistro in the same area that we will surely try.

I have never felt strongly enough to come on here & write such a bad review. This restaurant looks very inviting as it looks warm & welcoming. The staff were keen to sit us down & take our order which was great. When the food arrived it was not what we had ordered & when we questioned this the staff were rude & arrogant. They insisted that they had brought us what we had ordered but followed to take one of the dishes away. This was not brought back to the table for about 25 mins by which time the rest of us had finished our food. Whilst we were finishing up the staff bought another party of diners to our table & told us that we had to leave. We had not quite finished our drinks & one of our party was in the bathroom. We hadnt even paid the bill. We complained about the customer service & were made to feel completely awkward as we hadnt finished but were being pushed out of our seats. We told the new party of diners not to expect any sort of customer service & one of the waiters swore at one of us. We couldnt believe how badly we were treated & couldnt wait to leave in the end. It was a shame because it spoilt a very nice day out. I was desperate to let other people know of our bad experience & can see from previous reviews that we are not alone.

Having enjoyed a matinee show, we headed down into Soho to find something to eat. We love Italian food, and it looked good from the outside, but never judge a book by it's cover! We were ushered up to the 3rd floor, where we were left for 10 minutes before even having a drinks order taken. We ordered our food at the same time, a bread basket to nibble on, some starters and our mains. The starters turned up in 10 minutes (no bread basket!) but we still didn't have our drinks. Eventually my husbands drink turned up, but no glass of wine for me. At this point I was so thirsty I opened a bottle of water from my bag! Our starters were cleared, and eventually, after asking 3 times and threatening to leave, my wine turned up (not what I ordered, but hey ho!) After what felt like a lifetime, our main meals arrived, but we had no cutlery so had to take some off the table next to us. By this point we were completely fed up so ate up and got the bill. We'd been charged for the bread that never arrived, and as with all London restaurants they added a 12.5% service charge. I went to find the manager, who removed both and did offer an apology. This had to be in the top 3 worst customer service experiences ever. Every customer seemed to be clock watching, and the waiters were very arrogant in their attitudes.

I have always been a huge fan of Eataly in London and New York, and have eaten there several times! This visit was awful! From the girl at front of house who was so miserable, like she couldn’t be bothered, her first words to us were “you’ve got two hours”, not a great welcome, to the bland, disappointing food and rushed wait staff! We went for an early Father’s Day lunch but won’t be returning which is a shame as we’ve always enjoyed it before.

We stopped by in this restaurant on the way to Prince Edward theater. Bruschetta was bad, the bread was toasted like a hell and cannelloni wasn't good at all. We ordered sparkling water which wasn't cold.
