This review is for the breakfast only which was part of the total cost of our stay at the Glendower BW signature collection. Overall breakfast was good - plenty of bacon, one sausage (I didn’t like but hubby did so he ate it), hash brown, egg as we wanted, grilled tomato & mushrooms & baked beans. There were other choices including eggs Benedict which I opted for on 2nd day. This was rather filling & I’m not sure about the taste of the hollandaise sauce. Basically you could order what you wanted from the menu - even if it wasn’t specifically offered e.g. I could have ordered mushrooms on toast & it would have been provided. Cold continental type buffet selection also available including fruit & juices. The coffee on the first morning was a little weak but fine on 2nd. Don’t drink tea so can’t comment

The standard of catering at the business event I attended left much to be desired. I was so sorry because on a previous occasion the food had been good.

Very poor! Arrived on Sunday evening at 6pm. Checked in OK and went to the room, which was quite small and on the second floor. Had to check out at 10pm because we could hear the lyrics of every song being sung in the function room on the ground floor. The receptionist was somewhat apologetic but the duty manager couldn't even be bothered to come and apologise, obviously making more money from the wedding party that had booked most of the hotel and they hadn't bothered to pre warn us. Having driven over 280 miles already, I really did not want to drive another 240 overnight but that is what I ended up up having to do. Surely common sense dictates you allocate function guests to the rooms over the function room and all others away from the expected noise? NOT the kind of experience I expected from a Best Western Signature Collection hotel!!!

This hotel is filthy. You are met with a filthy carpet in grim reception and dust on all surfaces in foyer : an old gramophone with dusty vinyl record. Dusty shelves in bar. Other guests in bar making same point. Two very scruffy young barmen. Totally unhelpful reception to receptionist who, when asked about a taxi said “ I don’t know. You are asking the wrong person!” Filthy corridors. Tiny room with view into a scruffy roof. Have sworn by Best Western for years but this one needs to be avoided. The only positive is the location which is good.

Great Hotel we stayed overnight and dined in the restaurant. Absolutely delightful stay. The rooms were immaculate the dining experience was superb + check in and check out was painless.

Stayed with our grandchildren in a family room with extra bedroom. It was lovely. Very spacious clean and the balcony with fabulous view was a real bonus. The hotel is well kept and feels much nicer than some hotels we have tried in this area. Breakfast was lovely and nothing is too much Trouble we walked onto the st Ives hotel where the kids enjoyed some entertainment then came back to the hotel which is nice and quiet and night It is also near the pier and archades and public pool. We will definitely come back and would recommend to couples or families

Much quieter than on previous evenings when on holiday in the area and we've popped in for dinner. Despite the dearth of customers sevice was very slow. Waited an age for someone to appear behind the bar, then tables were left cluttered with empty plates and glasses etc. Food was good Reviewing purely as a restaurant.

We booked an evening meal for 11 people. The communication to plan the event was thorough and efficient. The service on the night was incredible. The staff couldn't do enough for us. We had our own room which was lovely and the food was the best we have all had in a long time! Thank you for such a special evening 😊

The Glendower Hotel hosted a funeral reception for our family & it was a very special occasion. The staff were professional & caring & the room was bright & overlooked the beach. The hotpot lunch was wonderful & the mushroom stroganoff was outstanding. We were very well looked after with endless tea & coffee. We stayed the night & ate in the Coast restaurant that evening & again the food was fantastic esp the Chicken Ruby. We also had a full english breakfast the next morning which was cooked fresh & again amazing. Fantastic hotel in a superb location

The hotel was beautiful was 20 minutes in being there the fire alarm was activated it was disturbing as I was on the toilet and that's not good. Question: May I ask when you test your fire alarm so I don't mistake it for a real one. The staff were lovely and gave our experience a lovely kick. If you need anybody it's the staff. Thank you for this and it was a great experience.

Hotel nice, poor welcome told abruptly to go and come back at 3 pm. What is wrong with, your room is not ready yet please use the facilities and relax. Put off straight away, why is it hard to welcone people rather than being too busy or interested to provide a welcome.

I went for afternoon tea with my daughter. It was absolutely excellent. From walking through the door, we were treated like royalty. The complete experience was first class. All the staff were very attentive, especially Rohan and Rebecca. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will be back. Thanks for a brilliant afternoon. Andrew.

Lovely hotel right on the front, staff friendly and really nice breakfast. My only complaint was being wakened every morning at 7 by the loud music and shouting coming from the gym, shouting and banging started one morning st 6.30 and the headboard was even vibrating with the jumping or whatever was going on in the gym. So if you like a restful sleep make sure you ask for a room far away from this area of the hotel.

Lovely hotel, wonderful big room with beach view. The staff are so friendly & helpful, made the stay so brilliant. Excellent food too, the poached eggs at breakfast were the most perfect ever! Beautiful bacon etc. steak & chips also delicious. I will be back!!!

Just got back from a Fri-Mon holiday. We stayed in room 112 and my mum 114. The hotel was lovely and catered for our dog also. The food was delicious plentyful the staff where really friendly. The only complaint was the room. If I had been told it was over a gym on booking I would of declined the room. We where woken at 6.50am the room was vibrating and the music was so loud it was like being in a disco. You could hear the instructor shouting. Everything else was fine. I get up each morning early for work so like a sleep in on holiday. Eva enjoyed her doggy treats. It would of been 5 stars only for the room. Guests should be advised on this when booking. Sunday morning was quiet the gym may open later.

Fantastic hotel, amazing staff. Really welcoming. Totally dog friendly even down to their own welcome letter, bowls, treats and blanket in room and sausages served at each meal if required. We stayed in executive double with sea view which was really spacious. Hotel directly opposite...

The hotel is a beautiful old building on the promenade opposite the sand dunes of Lytham sT. Anne’s. It is a 10 minute walk from the town and local amenities. The room we stayed in was a twin room at the back of the property...

We just had 1 night here in an executive seaview room and have to say it was perfect, lovely view room very clean and very accommodating for our dog. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent our dog could eat downstairs in the lounge area...

Fabulous as was our last stay everywhere spotless and the staff are mega friendly throughout the entire hotel we saw Hayley again what a great girl! Sunday lunch was gorgeous I would highly recommend and go again.

I booked a two night stay via BW telephone line so that I could ask questions regarding COVID. I was pleased that they had all the information I needed, on the hotel website I was also informed of all their particular new processes to help the stay go smoothly. On arrival everything was as stated. Hand sanitiser on entering, temperatures to be taken on entering and masks in all public places. Staff wore masks all the time.We arrived early and had lunch and a walk before checking in and decided on no housekeeping so that we were not disturbed during our stay. Tina on reception said anything we needed during our stay we should ask for and it would be left at our room door.The room was a good room, twin, with a newly refurbished bathroom. The heater wasn’t connected up but wasn’t needed as we had some very good weather.The room was clean and tidy, tho one window had a broken fastener, but it still worked.There was good tea and coffee provision and the beds were very very comfortable.We ate out on our first night but had Sunday lunch on the second. Booking is needed for eating and it is table service throughout, breakfast works well. You order everything with the waiter and it is brought via a large tray, the staff are very attentive and the whole experience is seamless. Well done staff.Drinks - if you are not sat in the bar area where the staff do table service, you mention to the receptionist were you are seated and a waiter will find you, take your order and deliver your drinks.Signidge is good throughout the hotel, plenty of sanitising stations.All in all a very good experience.

I was looking for somewhere that did a nice Sunday lunch for 6 adults and 2 children, I researched and came across COAST BRASSERIE, located in the best western Glendower hotel. I had read nothing but good reviews so me and my partners family went along. The food was incredibly good. And very reasonable in price too! Would definitely recommend

We were due to stay here for a week but had to cut it short. The hotel staff were lovely all during our stay. The room was very clean and comfortable, but unfortunately the lift only reached the first floor for our room so there was a long flight of stairs to our room 262. Also there was NO view at all as we looked out on a rooftop and windows outside. Not what you hope for on holiday. Breakfast was excellent though as were the 2 evening meals we had. The handgel was only available in the ground floor. As for the beach, it is not visible from the hotel as there are large dunes but you can reach the sand in a minute or two, the sea.is a different story, it would take about 10 to 20 mins to dip your tie in the sea.

Me and my wife visited and felt very safe. All staff wore masks and your temperature is checked as you get there. We had a delicious afternoon tea and also breakfast in bed. Loved the sea view room.

Being a very nervous customer in the current pandemic. This hotel has exceeded my expectations. As you walk in your temperature is taken. Everyone wears masks, sanitiser is throughout the hotel and social distancing is taking place. Staff were very attentive and we would definetly recommend.

We stayed for one night - room overlooking the beach with amazing view. Very comfortable. It felt very safe with all the Covid protection measures in place and excellent social distancing. Very enjoyable breakfast too . We will definitely return. Thank you.

Decent quality hotel in a great spot overlooking the beach and a short stroll from the town. Good sized car park out front with free parking. If you can get a room with a sea view then all the better, but expect to pay for that. We were only there for a one night stay so went for price. Room was perfectly OK if a little dark with not a lot of natural light. North facing I think. Plenty of Covid measures in place with a one way system, so well done to management for that. Staff were friendly and helpful, they seem to have a good team of people. We didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner but had the breakfast which was very pleasant, served at table. Would recommend.

Great Sunday stay over from the very start the lovely lady on reception and Hayley who kindly gave us bananas and muffins because we were hungry!!! Room was exceptionally clean and beds comfy. Sunday lunch was yummy the waiting staff all friendly and pleasant, breakfast was delicious and hot! Would 100% recommend and will definitely go back... thank you to the great team at the Glendower for making an overnight stay so enjoyable.

First trip out since lockdown was eased and we had a fabulous stay at the Glendower. Very modern. Huge family room more like an apartment than a hotel room minus a kitchen. Immaculately clean and staff all adhering to social distancing. Food was suprisingly amazing for a chain hotel. Staff customer service was our highlight though... From the lady we bokked with over the phone, to the welcoming reception staff during our stay and everyone that cared for us in the restaurant. Special mention to Vincent in the restaurant who couldn't do enough for eveyone. Will definately return this summer now abroad holidays out the window for this year.

Afternoon Tea at the Glendower Hotel was an absolute delight. It was a family occasion celebrating three Birthdays - six of us in total. We were shown to our table in the elegantly modern bar/lounge and given tea and coffee whilst we chose which sandwiches we would like preparing for us. They arrived, presented beautifully together with large, fluffy scones, butter, jam and cream, and an amazing selection of cakes. Everything tasted just as good as it looked. The three Birthday ladies were each given a lovely little cake with a lighted candle and everyone sang 'Happy Birthday!' A huge thank you to the kind and attentive staff and those behind the scenes for making it such a wonderful afternoon. We will be back!

We had a fabulous stay in the fairhaven room.the most comfortable bed with gorgeous decor.breakfast was delicious along with such friendly helpful staff.we will definitely be back!

This is our second stay at this hotel. on both occassions we have been most impressed by the staff and the service. I guess the hotel is a 3/4 star rating but it is so much better than this. This is because of the staff - whether in reception, house staff, the bar or restaurant. All are so helpful. The food is excellent. The bar has a good selection of drinks especially gin and rum. If staying in the hotel there is a lift but only some rooms have lift access so check when booking. Car parking out front - if full use the street parking (2 hours upto 6pm). Dog friendly hotel. When we stayed there was a wedding going on but in our room heard no noise from the event. Only comment would be to add a few more specialist non acholoic spritis to the "gin" and "rum" selection and 0% wine. Otherwise outstanding.

I enjoyed a first solo trip with my dog. My room was tiny & not really spotless but adequate & with dog biscuits & blanket provided for Ruby. Nice bathroom. I had been offered an upgrade for £20 when l arrived but declined. I would do so next time but l felt, that given the hotel was deserted, a complimentary upgrade would have been a nice gesture especially as my room was not of a great standard & though l was told all rooms had been recently refurbed, l wasn’t convinced. I just had a snack in the bar in the evening which was good & cooked breakfast of smoked haddock & perfectly poached eggs was very nice though buffet table was basic & a coffee machine not cafetière at the table which l prefer. All the staff were kind, pleasant & professional. I did enjoy my stay but the single room let it down for me .... l paid £90 b&b inc dog charge.

Just returned from a weekend away at the glendower staff was really helpful went a above and beyond for some of the party food was excellent and the room was excellent as well really recommend the fairhaven suit ideal for family or romantic time away walk in shower or great big bath very comfortable bed

This hotel is nice & on the coast of the shore, so you get a good view of the sea & also it is close to shops & restaurants, so it is a convenient place to stay.The staff are very nice, but the rooms are average. It's very clean, but the room is very small & if you are a tall person you will be sleeping with your feet sticking outside @ the end of the bed, so not ideal for a tall person. the bathroom would be bigger to sleep in if you are tall.All in all, it is a nice average hotel. sort of reminds me of Premier Inn, so if you don't mind that chain, you will have no problem with this one. Breakfast has a variety and healthy options

I am delighted to inform you that my family stayed at this amazing hotel this week and wanted for nothing. The staff catered for all our needs with a smile. They ensured that in difficult circumstances everything ran smoothly. The restaurant food was delicious and very fulfilling. An absolute gem of St Anne’s and I will be stay again very soon.

A lot of confusion booking through Best Western direct - Book directly with the hotel.The staff at the Glendower are lovely. They are professional, efficient and welcoming. Just the right amount of banter to have fun but professional and efficient at all times.The food in the restaurant is very good we had two evening meals and both were delicious. Perfect poached eggs at breakfast too, excellent chef.Rooms are large (executive) and overlook the lovely Sandy beach. Beds comfortable. Only slight criticism is water pressure in shower and nowhere to put anything in bathroom.There was a wedding on the Saturday night and we wondered if we would be disturbed by the music. We needn't have worried. There was room in the bar area (settees) for us to relax and once we went to bed it was very quiet.This is our second visit to the Glendower, we will stay again.

I’ve stayed at the Glendower several times. The staff are fantastic and make me and my Labrador very welcome. The hotel is right opposite the sand dunes and beyond those are miles of beautiful sandy beach which you can take a dog to even in high season. Highly recommended!

Good clean hotel in great location opposite the beach and definitely super dog friendly, but need to book quite far ahead as the regulars get the best dog friendly rooms cos they know which rooms to request.Wholesome breakfast in nice bright restaurant area. Busy hotel but reception always makes time to a chat. Lots of stairs, landings and fire doors all over so not best for accessibility if that is an issue.

We went for Sunday Lunch. On arrival we were greeted by and food served by Stephen Chadwick and Jim Hall both resplendent in waistcoat uniforms. Both professional, efficient and highly skilled in Customer Care. You will go a long way to get a better Sunday Roast . Food was fresh and perfectly cooked and presented. The place was spotlessly clean and I am sure the Hotel is just as good. A very pleasant experience. Book in advance to avoid disappointment.

only had breakfast at the Glendower hotel, went down the road (5 minute walk) to the Toby carvery. The Glendower menu was not bad, but to the missus expensive.

Upgraded to executive room for £20. Well worth it. Room large very comfortable, tea/coffee, wonderful views over the sea. Bed enormous and so comfortable. Excellent. Staff throughout the hotel and friendly. Restaurant had good choices, tasty, and staff friendly and chatting.

The best western or glendower is a lovely hotel to spend a few days of relaxation, from the moment we arrived we were treated so well.The amenities restraunt, gymnasium and service was splendid. The bedrooms were spacious and very clean, the bathrooms had ample towels and body lotions.In all excellent value for money and we will be going back to this wonderful hotel.

Attended my son’s football clubs summer ball & had the best time. Lovely hotel with great facilities. It was an incredibly hot day/night but the function room had air con. Tables were laid beautifully and very tastefully. Food was brought out in good time with everyone getting exactly what they ordered. There were even selections for vegan, gluten free etc. It all tasted amazing, and looked great too. Drinks prices were so much better than expected. Service was excellent. Sophie did an amazing job of coordinating it all. Would highly recommend

An excellent weekend away shared with 60 people from local Church. From booking right through to the end of the break, the staff delivered a five star service.

Just returned home after a 2 night stay at Glendower hotel with my wife and daughter. Room was spacious, very clean and furnished to a good standard. Very happy with the separate bedroom area for my daughter. Food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Overall all 3 of us were very happy with the Hotel and we will definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely weekend. We have no hesitation in recommending the Glendower.

From the moment we entered the hotel this experience was perfect. We arrived early and were shown to a lovely table in a light airy room. Hayley came to greet us and take our order for our choice of sandwiches. Lovely glass of Prosecco....a nice touch. The food was delicious. Really enjoyed everything but especially the scones, jam and clotted cream. As much coffee as we wanted. Would definitely recommend. Special thanks to Hayley who ensured we were happy with everything. Even spent time with us on a busy day to talk about the theatre!

We booked afternoon tea here because it’s close to my mums house and it seemed to be the only place that started Afternoon tea at lunchtime. I’m so glad we did because it was absolutely delicious. The staff were lovely and friendly and the lounge area looks lovely. We could all pick our own choice of sandwiches and then there was scones and mini cakes and of course you can pick from a range of different teas. Everything was fresh and very tasty and when we couldn’t finish everything we were given containers to take the rest home. Highly recommend it and will definitely be going back hopefully very soon. We have just returned from our Ladies Weekend at the Glendower Hotel and my wife and I plus 90 other guests could not have asked for a better stay. The event has been planned over the last eighteen months and our hopes and expectation have been met and indeed surpassed in almost every aspect. The food was first-class; the facilities were very good and the staff were incredibly efficient; effective and friendly. They give the impression that they all take a pride in the hotel and nothing is too much trouble for them. I can find absolutely nothing to criticize and Susan and I would like to thank everyone involved for ensuring that we had a wonderful weekend!

We have recently returned from yet another stay at the Best Western Glendower Hotel. We have been holidaying at this hotel for 18 years and it just gets better and better! The Glendower has had a refurbishment over the last eighteen months or so and what was a great hotel is now a fabulous one. The owners, management and staff have a " can-do " attitude and nothing is too much trouble for them to ensure that their guests have a wonderful time. We have already booked to go back to the hotel in July and November this year and cannot wait to get there.

4 of us stayed for a 2 day break this week. Great check in by Victoria very friendly and helpful. We booked champagne afternoon tea for 3 of us it was ok a bit mean on the sandwich front ,and we were put in a corner and felt a bit left on our own.Have to say breakfast was great both days excellent poached eggs cooked just right,check out ok not as friendly as check in ,but overall a good stay :-)

Booked last minute for a family of 5,cracking price £140 inc breakfast. Stayed in The Ribble view suite,really nice room with a balcony,sofa,king size bed,another bedroom and 2 bathrooms. Enjoyed our stay,would recommend for for families. Staff really friendly and helpful.

Have reported in past this hotel keeps trying to improve and wow how it has with an outstanding new bar area.using the space to great effect and modernising the reception area.it gives a quality feel as u enter .rooms clean and full of all you require for a comfy night .held an event there and staff were outstanding.good breakfast .

This was our 4th time here. The breakfast is a buffet style for starters, then main was brought out to us. Lots of choice. Dinner was very good. As we were a large group, the menu choices were truncated but the choices were still good, Had a bar lunch on the Sunday, the plates were overflowing. The hotel bedrooms have been refurbished. We had a disability room, large walk-in shower and big bedroom. Room 131

As a retirement gift I was given afternoon tea for myself and my wife from a customer. We were greeted by staff and showed to our table as soon as we entered. The afternoon tea was in our opinion a fabulous experience, with an array of sandwiches, scones, and a tray of homemade cakes and fancies, definitely one for sweet lovers. Just returned from an overnight stay at the Glendower and have left blown away at just how good this hotel is. We are regular travellers and have visited all kinds of dog friendly accommodation but this hotel is in a different league. Our Choccy Labrador, Poppy, was not just tolerated but treated like a VIP and we were very much spoiled too. The welcome on arrival was like coming home. We were upgraded to a bigger, better room which was outstanding - king size bed, sea view and a great size too. The room was clean and you'd never guess a dog had ever been in there. The hotel provides a (small) double bowl and dry food and pet blanket which is a great touch. We spent the evening in the bar. Understandably you can't eat in the (gorgeous) restaurant but the bar area is comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated too. The meals we had were outstanding and great value too. We were visited by family and spent the night in the bar. We were really well looked after including the dog and visiting children. The bar prices were a little higher than pub levels but nothing close to what others claim in their reviews. As we had Poppy we had a table in the bar for breakfast which we collected from the restaurant. The food was great, the service was exceptional, eating in the bar was absolutely fine. Poppy got a bowl of cokd sausage pieces that lasted her all day. The checkout experience was equally pleasant and we had no hesitation in booking another two trips for 2019.

we had a couple of nights between xmas and new year. the hotel itself is very nice. our room was a superior with a lovely sea view. just a couple of minor problems. one of which was the quality of the mattress which was advertised as a queen size double but we suspect it was just 2 singles pushed together. my main gripe was the amount of dogs within the hotel. I have never seen so many. if you are the same as ourselves and believe dogs should not be allowed in hotels this hotel will not be for you. the breakfast was particularly poor, we suspect the items are cooked and then kept only warm. we sent it back first morning and the second was not much warmer.

Our second visit here, this time for my Husbands birthday and when entering what a nice surprise the lounge bar has completely changed. It is lovely, all newly refurbished and modern. The staff as before were very helpful and friendly especially the lady who wears the grey trouser suit, she cannot do enough for you making sure everything is ok. The sea view room we had was very nice and clean. Breakfast was good and served by a nice Scottish man I think was called Jim. Looking forward to our next break away. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

A great hotel.. the buffet breakfast is the best ever. Had afternoon tea too and it was great. Stayed two nights and loved our seaside view. Great for visiting Blackpool to get a rest . Caught the bus back to go to the Tower etc.

We have never stayed here before, we were very impressed with the work that had obviously been done, our room whilst a little small was beautifully decorated & very clean...we booked a table to have my birthday meal , this however was spoilt a little as a large party before us seemed to be taking all the attention ... however I do think we will give the Glendower another visit,the reception staff were very helpful & did apologise profusely when we pointed out what had happened the night before. We will be back!!!

Stayed 20.10.18. Beautiful hotel in a lovely quiet location surprised that it is only a 3 star hotel. Pleased at how nice and spotless clean room was. Refurbishment has been done to a high standard. Staff were fabulous and nothing too much trouble. Lounges where you can relax were beautiful. One disappointing thing was when ate a beautiful meal in the restaurant, I had to return sweet potato fries to the kitchen as cold. When they were returned to the table they had been re-fried. To give credit to the Restaurant Manger - he was disgusted that this had occurred. I was happy when he confirmed that would never happen in his restaurant again. Quality of breakfast and service was excellent. Will definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family. Please note, if you book direct with the hotel, you leave with a lovely bottle of wine.

We stayed at this well run hotel last week and we loved it. The staff were really attentive, friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a family suite which was spacious and very clean and the beds were all very comfy. The breakfast selection was amazing everything was fresh and cooked to order. Definitely returning to this hotel.

You will largely be ignored / classed as lower priority than pond life if you aren't part of a coach trip.

We recently had an overnight stay at the Glendower hotel which we found to be very convenient for the beach, promenade , pier and town with its lovely park.

Stayed at glendower for 2 nights when we arrived staff explained about the work being carried out in the bar area and it had not been finished went to our room and unpacked on closer inspection noticed condition of room not very good a bad water leak had from the room above had obviously happened some time ago a very large broken stain on the ceiling and on the wall the wall paper by the bed and bathroom door was peeling away from the wall also quiet a few stains on the carpet the bathroom was also in need of redecoration and the general condition of the sealing around the bath and bath panel was very poor bathroom sink was very slow to drain almost not at all went out next morning mentioned about the sink to reception they said they would get it done . Arrived back late afternoon on the way to the room met a member of the cleaning staff who told us they had not cleaned our room but had had the sink repaired later on when using the bathroom the sink was the same not draining . Staff were friendly but condition of room was very poor have stayed in budget hotels at half the price and standard of the rooms a lot better

We found the Glendower to be a good place to stay but there are a couple of points that need to be raised. First thing we noticed when in the room was how warm it was, it was actually uncomfortable & we found the radiator was on in the bathroom. First thing we tried was closing the bathroom door which helped a bit. But then we had to ask for a fan & this helped a bit, but they should think about this & the time of year.

One of the reasons i have total respect for the owners of this hotel is that they are constantly trying to improve .still a great place for an event,good modern rooms and a fine breakfast they have now moved reception which further enhances your arrival.cant wait to see the finished job as it already looks good .fully recommend everything about this hotel.

We booked a standard double for our 2 night stay to visit the golf. It was on the small side but bright and modern and fine for our visit. From the moment we arrived everyone we met was friendly and helpful. We used the bar and restaurant both evenings and enjoyed our meals. Lovely to have your hot breakfast brought from the kitchen and not off a self service hot plate. Also good to have smoked haddock and smoked salmon at no extra charge. Would we visit again yes definitely but we would probably pay extra and treat ourselves to one of the larger rooms.

For Friday 20th July 2018, I arranged a surprise Afternoon Tea Party at the The Glendower Hotel for 16 people to celebrate my partner's 80th birthday. The occasion could not have been better. A wonderful table had been set in a lovely front room, guests were welcomed warmly on arrival by Hayley Unitt and David made sure everyone was enjoying a drink before we sat down at table. Every part of the tea was just superb.....freshly cut sandwiches with generous and tasty filling, dainty scones with all the accessories and then the prettiest and most varied array of cakes and dainties you ever did see.....all beautifully presented and more than enough for everyone. David and gentlemen made sure our drinks, whether champagne or tea were always topped up.....the service was attentive and meticulous. All our guests got the "WOW" factor.....we all agreed that we should return for the slightest excuse to enjoy the delights the Glendower has to offer. Our thanks to all involved at the hotel for making it a REALLY special occasion....not just for birthday boy but also for every guest.

Went for afternoon tea this afternoon with family and didn't really know what to expect as we have never been for afternoon tea. From the get go our waiter went above and beyond to do everything for us, service was outstanding, food was amazing, atmosphere was stunning and overall great value for money. Will be definitely returning soon for more, I believe great service should be rewarded and this was amazing!

We go here regularly and always have a great stay. Clean, bright rooms with sea view. Wonderful staff. Great choice for breakfast, Vincent is a great waiter, very attentative. Thanks Vincent. Very hot weather so could do with having more fans. See you all again soon

Stayed overnight after we attended a wine and cheese matching event. Room was modern, check in very efficient although parking is limited. Room looked good with a fabulous view out to sea. We paid for this later in the day, night as it does have its downside. The room does have blinds to cover the large windows but in doing so you loose the view you paid extra money for. Also as the weather on arrival was Blue sky and sunshine the room, being southerly facing was really hot with no air con, reception promptly provided a rotating fan which did cool the room somewhat. We also fell foul of the fact that having the windows open meant we inhaled smoke and where disturbed by people attending a wedding who sat outside on the patio tables until the early hours, this meant we had to close the windows and suffer quite a hot and sticky night.

Had read good reviews and wanted a quiet dinner for two in nice surroundings but unfortunately we weren't very impressed. Crispy spring rolls were rather over-sold on the menu description and were on a par with a good Chinese take aways offerings. Main course of chicken piri piri was tasty but a very small chicken breast. The 21 day old steak was more medium rare than medium as requested. Both dishes were artistically dressed with swirls of beetroot purée on the plate but the sweetness of this rather clashed with the savoury food. Didn't bother with desserts or coffee as we'd been less than overwhelmed by the first two courses.

I have visited the Glendower for afternoon tea many times and it has always been outstanding before. However, on a recent visit, I was very disappointed to find that things have changed. One of the delightful aspects which set this experience apart was the array of delicious tiny cakes set out on a box with a glass lid, under which was a seasonal display, sand and shells in summer, leaves etc in autumn, spring flowers and of course, Christmas in December. I have described this, with photos, and recommended the afternoon tea to many friends for the past few years. Unfortunately, although it was acceptable this time (apart from the Rocky Road cake which I don't consider at all suitable for afternoon tea), it was no longer a special experience and I am so disappointed that someone has decided to change what was a particularly outstanding format. Please review this decision!

Just returned from 2 nights stay with my wife.stayed in a double superior room number 101 can recommend this room for size,comfort and view over the beach and out to sea.only minor criticism is that you can’t control the room temperature,but apart from that a superb room. Staff are friendly, and helpful.

This was our first break with the dog. We were worried about how welcome he would be but the staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. Water, food & a blanket provided as well as a welcome letter. The room was lovely & food very good quality. Staff were amazing; Vincent especially was brilliant.

Great venue , good food and friendly staff. 3 reception rooms to entertain friends and family. Our party catered for 45 guests of all ages. Made for a very memorable day at this family run hotel. Good location for St.Annes-on Sea.

Just returned from a two night short break from this friendly well run establishment. Fantastic room with a view ( 104 - superior) , great size , splendid view overlooking the sea. super shower room and double bath !. Nice ambience throughout the hotel .

Stayed one night in a sea view room. First impressions made as we drove into the car park to find plenty of spaces and an electric charging point! Followed by the young man on reception who gave us a very warm welcome, polite, professional and friendly. The room was beautifully furnished and very clean. Casual bar and breakfast room equally impressive. I would definitely stop again. If I had to choose something for improvement it would be to change the mattress, it was dipping in the middle and wasn't as comfy as it could have been. Otherwise spot on!

Stayed here for a 3rd time in so many months so they must be doing something right my previous review on here is stuck in glitch on trip advisor and sadly customer service on there is rubbish

Absolutely lovely birthday afternoon tea - very nice food, good choice of sandwiches, good service, beautifully presented and extremely good value for money. All served in the lovely front room with a view of the sea. We all enjoyed it very much and would highly recommend it - thank you.

Highly recommendable afternoon tea in the lovely lounge at the glendower! Lovely food and mouthwatering desserts and all polished off with a cup of tea !! If your looking for the best afternoon tea in Lancashire,this is a must and you will not be disappointed! Also the staff a very lovely and welcoming fantastic hotel.
