Berwick Manor Hotel in Havering

We regularly stay in the area to visit our daughter and granddaughter. Wanted to explore alternatives to the Premier Inn. Berwick Manor cost double and was much worse, so won't return. The staff were as helpful as they could be. We had to ask for a towel and soap. The hand basin was cracked and had no plug. Continental breakfast was included, but it wasn't worth getting up for. It's all on the cheap there. The website implies luxury, but they can't afford to fix anything that breaks.

Disgusting, bugs crawling around the windows and blood spots on the curtains where other guests had squashed them. Headboard was filthy. It went from bad to worse. Would definitely not recommend this hotel.

I went to a charity event here for the afternoon, so I cannot comment on the rooms etc. However the garden is really lovely, the event was in the garden area, and looked lovely.

Very lovely place I was there to attend an event and it was worth it. Very good ambience and good space for events.

It needs a good clean if you offer breakfast it should be better than what was offered to us staff helpful and polite in one room the window was propped up we with a block of wood shame it could be so nice

Be carefull this is a scam hotel, the pictures you see online are nothing to what the rooms really look like and they wont refund you your money, youll have to report them through your card provider to get your money back. They also paid for good reviews as they recently had a 1 star only general review and somehow now they have a 4 star!

Low price, convenient location, room was ok and most things worked.

Berwick Manor Neither a manor or a modern hotel Can't make up it's mine. Car park was empty and the place didn't look open Reception looks like something from Prisoner cell block H Bar is left over from 70s All tatty and tired. Window doesn't shut properly and blind and curtain worn and dirty Room is warm and linen is clean and new Hot water on arrival 4pm but not this morning Last night's wine was warmer than the water. Continental breakfast was not laid out. Just asked if we wanted tea or coffee, juice and cereal and cheap fruit yogurt appeared from out the back. No choice. No meats or cheese. No fruit. No staff Offered toast but this has not materialized. Sorry to say that we have booked for two nights

Attended a post funeral tea/buffet here. Food, service and venue were very good.

There was nothing positive about this hotel The carpets were Dirty, the shower had black around it, the curtain was hunging off the rail, The restaurant wasn't even open although still advertised, The buffet breakfast was 3 lots of style cereal and 3 pots of yogurt. Just bad

I used this for an overnight stop. It was ideal for this. The breakfast was quite nice. The room was huge, although a little tired. The man at reception was very helpful.

I cannot give any stars to rooms as I did not book any rooms. I had my wedding celebration here I highly recommend this place

Massive carpark and very empty when I arrived not sure if that a good thing! Quick check in info given Lift to the upper floor Room was a good size as was the shower room. Bed OK WiFi just OK Evening meal was very disappointing very limited choice, took awhile when it arrived the chips weren't cooked though so had a bit of a dodgy tummy later on Shower hot and powerful Location is on a busy back road nothing close by . Would stay again if nothing else but wouldn't eat there! Breakfast not included i price ut could add on if wanted.

Great place but drinks are very expensive

I went here for a garden party. Nice venue with a good amount of space outside. It's about an hour outside of London, depending on whereabouts you live. Would go here again for something like this.

I worked on an event as a third party contractor. A lovely outdoor space for events, with a great marquee. Friendly staff etc. Can't comment on the rooms, but the cleaners had the place spotless immediately after punters left, so presumably the rooms match the same standard. Dunno why anyone would ever want to visit Romford, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Room was old and dirty. Bathroom window was disgusting. Curtains hanging off. Bed uncomfortable and creaky. Only 1 pillow. Phone disgusting and not working. Breakfast was absolutely disgusting and luke warm at best. Coffee was so strong it was undrinkable. No choice of juice...apple or nothing. Would never recommend this place!!!

Really lovely hotel, secluded away from a lot of the hustle and bustle. One minor thing was that the double bed in our room was actually two single mattresses together and we weren't made aware of this at any time.

Over qn hourro wait for breakfast then it was cold qnd missing items qnd brought out wrong ones

My mum had her wedding here and stayed in the hotel for the night, the room was lovely and the staff were Amazing. The venue was so lovely and so we’re the staff! They were always around and helpful when you needed something would recommend this lovely venue/hotel 100%! Thank you for making my mums day special

What started out as just a thought In our minds became a dream that came true ……..Our Mad Hatterz Wedding at the Berwick Manor became the perfect setting for our Beautiful Wedding 💜 We we’re looked after from the day we made our first enquiry, guided through each stage with support and guidance when ever we needed it. The staff we’re ALL amazing and nothing too much trouble 💜 Between the Ceremony Room, The Bar, Dance Floor and Marquee every requirement was met from Start to Finish 💜 The Hotel allowed all our friends and family to stay which was amazing and the Bridal Suite with Jacuzzi was Lovely 💜 Everyone our 200 guests loved their time here and all told us how impressed they were 💜 If we could we would would do it here all over again tomorrow 💜Thank You All For Making Our Day One We Will NEVER FORGET 💜💜💜

The staff were kind and helpful any problems there were they corrected them straight away. The garden was nice and peaceful too

If you want to sleep with different peoples hair then book here. Found hair literally all over my hotel room. I was locked in the bathroom for 20 mins, I was moved room and still found hair everywhere, including the mattress and towels in the bathroom. Check the mattresses and pillows. I was refused a refund and have been told the rooms “reached cleanliness standard”. After physically removing hairs myself all throughout my stay, I’m basically being told I am lying about my complaint.

Reception staff very helpfull and polite room wasent cleaned before we arrived stunk of BO could smell cigarette smoke in bed,dust everywhere some places haven't been cleaned for month bead round windows top of head board strip light you can right you name on it room telephone you wouldn't want to touch carpet not hovered for days. Payed for breakfast had first day only got half on menu miss second day third day offered toast only, immergrants kept us awake wouldn't recommend paid 80 pounds a night what a joke.

Great hotel, superb, clean, cool

We booked this last minute really & it was cheaper than the rest. 1st floor room 1, stairs or lift. Room was really cold, put radiator on as soon as we arrived. Which pumped heat out if you stood next to it, took a while to warm the room. Huge bathroom. Big double bed, however whenever you moved or turned over the bed squeaked badly, but comfy. Thin duvet cover but was actually quite warm. No do not disturb sign, (we dont like anyone in our roon whilst there). A bit dated & carpet could do with changing really. Didnt have breakfast as was up to early, think it starts at 7am. Snacks/burgers in bar from 6-9pm. Would stay again if nothing else around.

I don't remember when I was last time in some dirty hotel.

Large room, private bathroom, quiet Otherwise really run down hotel, furniture old, very dirty carpet, curtains with stains. Really angular Breakfast inedible

Really nice hotel. Got a great deal on my room. Was quite nostalgic going back to the place I used to visit most weekends nearly 30 years ago when it was a bar/nightclub...oh the memories

Lovely place but extremely overpriced for the alcohol served. I paid £8 for a tiny can of cider. I’m not sure if this is because we had a private function (funeral) but that shouldn’t really have changed the price. We also had a buffet served to us and it couldn’t have been more beige if they tried. No salad or fruit, the cakes were dry and powdery. Not what I expected for such a lovely looking place.

We got a double room but it was 2 single beds pushed together, no shower gel only hand wash that wasn't very good. The breakfast was reheated and not very nice .

The hotel was OK for the price but the breakfast was shocking. Must of been cooked 3 hours before served as hard curled up bacon...solid egg and mushy hash brown with over boiled beans..

Entertainment was really good, staff polite. As seperate to hotel not able to feed back on this section other than reception polite and guiding us in correct direction to where we had to be and reception looked yo good standard.

Wow... What a great find this place is! The price was incredible £50 per night with breakfast at your room. The room was well thought out and in keeping with the views outside. What has blown my mind is how clean and tidy it was... Flawless hygiene! And I looked hard!!!. If you are a construction manager/supervisor this is genius! Appreciate its lockdown, butvthe cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Breakfast to the Room didn't appear either and tried to charge me despite booking via hotel.com

This place is an absolute joke!! Booked for a nights stay on 30th Dec 2017. Checked in at 2.00, at 5pm ordered some food. Half an hour later, knock on door to tell us the hotel Had NO FOOD! We were offered chips (FOC). We got the chips but when we were finished, left the plates on a tray out side the door. We got ready and left for our evening, the tray was still outside the door! We returned at 3am, the tray was STILL outside the door! We went down for breakfast at 9am, tray was still outside the door!! Lft room at 10.30 to check out, guess what, TRAY WAS STILL OUTSIDE THE DOOR!! The room, on initial entry was nice but once inside the cleaniless (or lack of) was apparent! Balls of dust behind bathroom door, if u moved anything on bedside table or desk u could see they were cleaned around and when calling for room service, the phone had to be cleaned before using!! That had not seen a duster for months!! In summary the place is a bit chaotic, some staff were attentive and you cpuld see their embarrasment but others really couldnt care less. Would not recommend to anyone.

We absolutely love eating at this restaurant! The food is great with a huge selection and generous potions, and if you have a Tastecard then the price is unbelievable! Although we've never stayed in the hotel part of the building as we live local, the staff are very friendly and we'd be happy to recommend the Gidea Park Hotel to friends visiting the area.

The overnight stay for my wide, myself and our son was fantastic. The staff were very helpful, the room clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was tasty.

Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful and clean room (superior double) , free fast wi-fi, big car park, home cooked breakfast, walking distance to the train station. I enjoyed my stay and I will be coming back. I can only recommend your hotel.

my husband stayed there for 5 days and was underwhelmed. the single bed was small and lumpy and bedding less than cosy. the room was rather stuffy and the wifi didnt reach or connect to the bedroom. it needs a good refurbishing in the rooms. the louge was comfortable and welcoming and so were staff however. the food was ok but they did serve one gentleman the wrong food which was disapointing. good amenities however.
