Bertie's in Allerdale

Enjoyed fish and chips from Berties. I've never had a fish so big, it had to be folded in half to fit it in the tray. Cooked very well and good chips also.

We were staying at Stanwick holiday park thought we would give it a go When we ordered fish and chips was told no fish then we ordered sausage and chips when we got back to caravan to enjoy our meal hugs guess what no chips do they just make orders up as they like will most certainly not be back or recommend it to others

Visited last night following an excellent fish and chips at Berties.Fish fine but have never had such awful disgusting chips. Had it not been such a cold night would have gone back to complain. COME BACK BERTIE.

Been here twice this week the first time it was absolutely beautiful, couldn't wait to come back. So went back tonight and it was like going to a different place. We made the exact same order and paid the same price, however this time the cod bites were a quarter of the size they were the first time and were over cooked, & in my "cheesey chips" 5 of my chips had cheese on. Very disappointed.

Lovely little Fish and Chip shop with plenty of parking and a good sized clean and tidy outside seating area. Fish was lovely and chips were good. Good value for money with good portion sizes! Perfect to stop at on the way back to the holiday village we where staying at.

Stayed at the stanwix and Bertie’s is just down the road , good staff and good chips , only let down was wanting Pizza but non on the day , but still very nice 👍

Best fish & chips we have ever tasted , fish was so fresh & chips cooked to perfection Would so recommend this place , thankyou for a lovely Friday takeaway meal it was gorgeous

When to berties fish and chips and pizza shop excellent service friendly shop extremely excellent food nicest we had in a long time well worth a look we will be back give it a try you won't be disappointed pizzas are to die for good all round under new management both sides fish and chips and pizza shop excellent 👍👍👍👍

Always go to Bertie's for our fish and chips when we are at our caravan in Silloth. Lovely fresh fish, great chip and mushy peas. Haven't eaten pie or sausage so cannot comment on these but would certainly recommend Bertie's.

Come here every time were in silloth! This is the best 1 by far! Staff and menu is amazing you can sit outside aswell. Its so nice.

We ordered 2 large fish and chips for lunch- 1 fish was lovely, the other wasn't very good. The chips were nice and the portion size quite big.

This has to be the best fish n chips I have had for a long while. Crisp white chunky cod covered in crispy batter - tasted amazing. Partner had battered sausage which was also very nice apparently. Next time we will go for one tub of curry sauce between us tho as one each was far too much and a lot was left!!

To be honest, we should have been having a BBQ that night, however the Cumbrian summer weather told us otherwise, so a quick jump in the car and the fish n chips were soon being devoured in our caravan while the rain hammered down on the roof. They were pretty good, the fish was tasty and the chips were ok, just slightly overdone. Still, they filled a hole and who can't resist fish n chips on holiday? Nice staff too :-)

We came here as it was our first night at Stanwix Park Caravan Park just next door and we were ravenous. The fish suppers were great. Batter crispy, fish fresh and portions epic! Good value.

Visited here the other day and had a lovely take away. The staff were very friendly and we all enjoyed our meal. It wasn't greasy at all which was nice.

Welcomed in by friendly staff. Fresh fish and chips cook on the spot. Crispy batter just the right thickness. Scampy done to protection not the usual pub over done and dry. Thank you we will call again.

Walked in at 7:50 when they close at 8pm and order fish, chips sausage and burgers - very friendly staff and even gave use the left over chips going spare - the fish chips and sausages were all lovely - unfortunately the burger was a little under for my liking but over all I was very impressed - the fish was just lovely and very crispy batter - yum yum

Called in last weekend after lovely day out at Silloth green. The fish and chips were brilliant, cooked fresh, and the staff happy and friendly, even after a long, busy day. Means a lot to be served by smiling faces.!

Lazy day, chip shop tea. A short wait, but generous portions and freshly made fish and chips. Disappointed that the three cheese pattie was not available.

Came here after a swim in the lakes and couldn't fault it. The staff were very friendly and the menu was interesting and broad. Would defiantly recommend.

La tienda de chips estaba lleno cuando fuimos, después de haber pasado el día en el carnaval, pedimos 3 pescado y patatas fritas, 3 un montón de nuggets de pollo y patatas fritas para los niños, salsa de curry y blanda los guisantes. Esperamos a que el pescado fresco, era tan humedo, todos estamos impresionados con lo deliciosa que todos sabían, patatas fritas mejores que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Mi marido quiere la receta para la salsa de curry. La próxima vez que haga el viaje será hacer una línea para Bertie's bee

This place could be a little goldmine being right next door to a big self catering holiday park but they simply just open for 4 hours a day and only have a little blackboard me u with about 10 options, no kids boxes or much variety at all, it almost seems to be that they are running stock down to shut the place down, nothing is cooked as you would expect with a chippie so everything has to be cooked from start with every person that comes in so as you can imagine it is sometimes a 10-15 minute wait.

Éramos un grupo de 7, así que llamó al orden a través de esperar 15 minutos y luego recogido. La tienda estaba lleno pero no tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo, entre el orden eran 4 peces todo perfectamente preparado. El único inconveniente fue el guisantes blandos eran muy seco y no vender pasteles o budines aparte de eso todos tuvimos un gran té.

Mientras espera para mi pedido pescado frito, a un miembro del personal pidieron un colega dos veces si el pescado fue hecho, porque estaba en mucho tiempo. Él era justo, el pescado estaba muy seco y el bateador muy duro. Es muy difícil para mí dejar nada, pero me obtuvo algunos de los peces de la pasta dura, comimos las patatas fritas y alimentado mucho de el bateador a nuestra amigas. Mi gran porción fue un habitual de pescado reforzado por dos lo que parecía de ausages'. Uno contenía un trozo de pescado, el otro un poco más, pero sin duda no es equivalente a una gran porción. Yo recomiendo este chippie, ahora estoy demasiado avergonzado para hacerlo. Mientras que allí, un cliente entramos con sus envolturas y el personal dijo que fue el peor que he tenido y que no volveremos.

Llamado por una bolsa de patatas fritas. Espere casi 10 minutos cuando caliente que es suficiente. Sin embargo cuando les abrió el tamaño de la porción era horrible! No estaban calientes, así que no creo que hubiera estado preparado, sin embargo creo que nos dieron los restos de la izquierda más patatas fritas anterior''. Pero no, prefiero viajar un poco más lejos donde mi encargo sería valorado.

Personal ya parecía un poco desanimado y mientras yo estaba esperando que alguien devolvieron sus contenedores y dijo "nunca estoy viniendo aquí". Mi chips estaban bien. Los peces de tamaño grande era regular y significativamente recocida. Lo que parecía se añadieron dos salchichas maltratada. Uno de esos contenidos un trozo de pescado y la otra no hacen la porción de pescado hasta un gran equivalentes. Es muy inusual para mí no comer mi comida, pero alimentado un poco para las gallinas cuando llegué a casa. Debería haber dicho algo mientras espera, porque me pareció que eran dejándolo en mucho tiempo y el más joven miembro del personal pidieron el viejo tío al menos dos veces sobre tomar el pescado. Me decepcionó mucho, sobre todo porque teníamos un visitante con nosotros, el bacalao era el más pescado frito que he tenido desde un pescado y chip shop en mucho tiempo. Buscando en otros comentarios, son los dueños de vacaciones?

Sentí la necesidad de escribir una crítica para los peces increíble y patatas fritas. Este lugar poner cualquier otro pescado y chips de vergüenza!!! Aparte de la magnífica comida el cuidado y la atención que el personal tome a asegurarse de que la comida es perfecta, una gran experiencia. Me alojé en un parque de caravanas locales donde la comida era menos que interesante, este chips realmente salvó el día! No soy de tomar fotos de comida, pero el pescado era tan grande y perfecta que tenía. Este lugar le lleva de vuelta a el pescado y las patatas fritas eran un día delicioso regalo. Le daría un diez sobre cinco, si pudiera. Sería loco perder

Had a lovely chippy after a busy day. All the family enjoyed it. Selling haggis pakora but I suggest some pakora sauce!

No tengo mucho para elegir, no hacen carne los budines, porciones de pollo, pizza y les gustaría salir de nuggets de pollo. 5:00 pm en lugar concurrido un sábado por la noche se quedaron sin fichas y tenía que esperar años.

Went for fish and chip - didn't have to wait long, all freshly cooked. Enjoyed looking at the postcards and photos on the walls whilst we waited. Fish and chips were delicious. We will be back.

Had a fish supper from here once during our holiday. Very nice, generous portion. Is handy for Stanwix park, just down from the main enterance

We went here on our first night as its next to the Stanwix Holiday park and the food was good,but it did take ages to get ,they didn't seem to be very well organised.

always busy, right next to stanwix park so its handy, would advise anyone to try this chip shop..it does need more seating outside for the summer but it is always busy and great service when they r busy

En nuestro camino a casa de Silloth pasamos este lugar y decidimos parar, así que nos alegramos. Está decorado con distinto de cualquier otro "fish and chips"! También sirven el mejor pescado y patatas fritas que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Gran Cod encantador, Golden pasta ligera y grasienta no fumador patatas fritas todo recién cocinado. Seguid trabajando así de bien y volveremos.
