Huge disappointment with the quality of the service and dirty glasses and utensils. You could even see lipstick stains on multiple glasses we were given, absolutely unacceptable. The service at the bar was chaotic and took a long time. Food was a bit overpriced for what it was, but as alright overall. No music in the beer garden - that would be a nice addition!

Excellent bar and restaurant. The only small criticism is that the bar and restaurant are mixed in together. Other than that though everything was brilliant. Has a very old Irish pub feel.

We holiday at castlerock and always look forward to our nights in Bertha’s. Great wee bar with pool table, music at weekends and absolutely great atmosphere everyday of the week. Only a short walk from caravan park too. We have ate here quite a few time and always been great pub grub. We recently ate here with our two daughters 5 and 8 and the service and food was first class. Kids loved it too. Great place to eat for families after a day at the beach or anytime.

Went to this bar for a couple of drinks & food. The staff were lovely & helpful (even when we hadn’t booked a table, they were still really accommodating) . There was a woman who assisted us in the smoking area and continued to check up on us. It was a wholesome and wonderful experience! Will definitely return!

Quaint atmosphere, great staff and service!

AVOID. They are just there to take your money for shambolic service that takes advantage and average food. We had a meal there on Friday evening. We had been there for drinks on a previous occasion and it was a nice atmosphere. There were quite inexperienced staff who had mixed up our orders (one of the sides was wrong and one we had to order again as they hadn't taken it down - dry champ that came with no butter) and then proceeded to hand us someone else's bill. We were willing to overlook this as the younger waitresses were obviously fairly new. However, the reason I'm writing this is that they charged us an adult fish goujon meal at £15.50 (£7 difference) for a five year old and refused to refund us as we did not specifically state that this was a kids meal even though I stated it was for a child. My daughter (who had long hair in a plait but the waitress referred to as "the wee boy") couldn't eat all the chips and the manager's excuse was that she had ate all the fish goujons so we had to pay. Some places (such as The Millside in Cloughmills) do give children large portions so we never though to question such a large portion of goujons which initially just was presented without any side. I had initially questioned the price. My husband had went to sort it and they had the cheek to send another young waitress down with the same bill as if they had rectified the price. He paid before he had realised. When I complained the manager put the blame on the waitress serving saying that she hadn't been there long and that she would learn. She wouldn't rectify the bill. I didn't want to make a scene in front of my daughter so we left. A relative of mine actually rang later to complain to the manager without my knowledge and her response was she had a business to run. There are better quality places to eat in this small town that are cheaper too and actually care about their customers. We will try the golf club next time.

We both got fish and chips. the fish was greasy, my partners. There was hardly any fish, mostly batter then got over charged only realised when I we were heading home as I told my partner how much it cost £46 she said but the fish and chips were priced at just over £15 too late to go back as we live over an hour away

Grabbed a late table here on a whim whilst travelling through N.I. On Father’s Day. Great Sunday roast with great staff. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely bar right by the sea front. Really friendly and welcoming bar staff. Decent prices and big portions of food.

Very friendly wee bar, staff so chatty and helpful. Was there 3 nights and they had live music on each night. Rugby was on the TVs one night, so might be worth checking out if you need to watch some sport! Didn't get to try the food, but was impressed they were doing Irish frys with all of the proceeds going to Marie Curie. Huge beer terrace outside also. Drinks very reasonably priced!

Out for meal with friends (4 off us) the food was very good had chicken and steak combo. Highly recommend why head to the Port when this on your door step. Well done team. Ps the band were brilliant to.

Man wird freundlich bedient, das Essen ist wirklich gut. Man hat mehrere Biersorten zur Auswahl. Ist bestimmt für jeden was dabei.

The food we had was excellent as was the service and the price was spot on.

One to avoid unfortunately. Can see why it only has 3 stars on Trip Advisor. Good location but the service can only be described as chaotic. Asked for child's meal to arrive as soon as possible but it took around an hour (no warning when we ordered that it would take so long). Several things on the menu not available (only told this after we tried to order). Pricing of menu items pretty vague. Food was mediocre at best when it arrived and seemed overpriced for what it was. We did feedback but the manager didn't even bother to speak to us so obviously not bothered about putting things right.

Really lovley dog friendly location. Food is really good, the atmosphere is great and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Accessible via train or car, with a beach nearby for a nice post-dinner walk! Would recommend.

We enjoyed a meal recently in Bertha's bar Castlerock, our order of fish, chips and a steak was plainly served and very tasty. The service was unusual, we wanted to change our table due to a draft from an outer door but weren't permitted to do so. Our drinks never came until we hailed another member of staff who was most apologetic. The pub is older in style and has a nice and very popular beer garden.

Friendly staff and good food. Very close to the station and the beach. I was on my way back to Belfast, when I decided spontanously to stop in Castlerock for two hours.

Entertainment and the atmosphere was 1st class, Jonny Johnson kept everyone on the dancefloor all night

Chicken wings were nice, and the service staff were helpful, but a very wilted salad and a messy sides affected their score. Hope to return and try again once they are finished recruiting more staff.

Nice relaxed pub with a decent pint, sports shown when it's on. It didn't serve food in the off season. We stay in our apartment across the road and we like it here for a pint. Dog friendly and has a pool table.

Decent food and beer. Priced fairly for a seasonal resort. Can't complain. Get the garlic fries.

Lovely vibe, great wee bar, serving good food. Perfect spot in Castlerock for a bite to eat ,a nice couple of pints and a very friendly chilled atmosphere. Good service, very attentive and can accommodate any tweeks to the menu for individual preference. Large beer garden, both smoking and non smoking. Dog friendly and right next to the beach. What more could you ask for after a lovely stroll along the soft sand and clear blue skies. Nice chic decor and friendly locals happy to share in the welcoming vibe. Wholesome friendly staff. Great place to recharge and chill on a warm sunny day. 🌞

Bar was nice Service was great Liked the caesar salad and veg pasta was great But there was no flavour in grilled basa.

Got to do interview with Colin Harney. Owners were awesome and ever so helpful.

The Food was great, the Staff were very helpful and the family really enjoyed it.

This has been renovated really well and my daughter says the food was very good. Only downside was that the live band were annoyingly deafening.

food standard Fair. Sea bass meal was very small, no veg and crushed baby potatoes were bland and more of a mash. wouldn't rush back for the food.

Very good service but restaurant quiet. Sunday roast quite nice but would have preferred more than one meat choice. Husband and daughter couldn't have this as they don't eat poultry. Food lovely and hot and plenty of it. But please don't cook roast potatoes in the deep fat fryer..

The best bar on the North Coast!!

Had a fantastic dining experience in Bertha's tonight. I have been going in here for a few years and it has always been good. Tasty pub grub and good Guinness. Staff were always very good as well. Took my baby in tonight and couldn't have been made more welcome. Managed to squeeze us in with no booking. At least 3 staff took the time to come and make sure us and the baby were doing well. Kudos to Lynn and her staff for excellent customer service.

I had the chicken stack which was delicious. One thing which annoyed me was that the waitress lifted our plates before one of our party had finished. 😡😡😡 Definitely a no no.

Great local and tourist bar serving delicious pub grub, situated facing the beach with views of Co Donegal and Scotland. Top tip Castlerock train station two minute walk away, great for day trips from Belfast and Derry-Londonderry. (Now under owner family management)

Well worth a visit good food served here too

Had drinks outside in the beer garden. It was pleasant but a bit basic. They could do a lot more to make this area really nice. We asked the staff if there was a chippie or takeaway in Castlerock and two of them said no, the wasn't. On leaving and walking round the corner we discovered Crusoe's Catch!

Had a very tasty and reasonably priced meal, at Bertha's Saturday evening. The pudding was to die for, we all enjoyed our meal and even though the staff were very busy, they were pleasant and attentive. I'll keep coming back.

Great to be back at Bertha's. They have dealt with the social distancing extremely well, the food was outstanding but it's the friendly service that makes this the place to go.
