Bennys Pizzeria, Fish And Chips in South Lanarkshire

Went here last night because my usual chippy cafe zucchini was closed and I wish I hadn’t. Had to give at least 1 star but I would give it no stars if I could Chips where greasy - black pudding batter was like cake and soggy and thick and the paper stuck to it - fish batter wasn’t any better - £20 straight in the bin - would not recommend this place - EVER - go along the road a bit to the chippy on the corner of the bowling green - always fresh and delicious

I decided to order from here as it was okay before but I wish I'd paid more attention the the dates on reviews as they are all from the previous owner!! When I called explain the smell coming from the fish was a bit overpowering.. some parts fish discoloured and smelled stronger in some parts.. I decided not to eat anymore the last thing I needed was to be sick. The worst part about this experience is the the owner screaming at me down the phone.. never will I waste another penny here!! Total waste of money and my dinner... oh the fritters were okay but not what I expected as my dinner.. very disappointed 😞 if anything me calling up to let them know could have been handled better.

Deliver time was 50-65 mins .. took 2 hours was dripping with grease had to bin it will not be using again

The food was very good the only downside was the lack of salt & vinegar on the chips but it was still nice.

Phoned 1 hr 10 mins after ordering to be told it was 2 mins out their door. 30 mins later arrived Liars....then I got a text saying it would be another 10 mins...

I would recommend Bennys chips are lovely and I also had a fried pizza cooked perfect . My wife loves the fish and chips and the portions u get are great .delivery was very quick as well Gary + Yvonne

The food was terrible and no salt and vinegar had to throw it out normally the food is ok but not tonight

Not had anything from Bennys in years. Food was decent.

All is good except the drinks the website advertises 2 Litres coke for £2.40 but they only send a 1.5 litre bottle, now that is a ripoff..

Didnt get food!! But was charged!

Ordered fish and chips which was supposed to come with sauce and peas, got sauce and no peas, that’s the second time . Also requested my delivery for over an hour away and it arrived 10 mins after I ordered whilst I was in the shower 🙃

Food delivered on time but missing chips from special dish supper which had to ring up about.Not first time this has happened.Unfort the fish was awful.It was overdone.The normal fish supper was very greasy and not done like usual.Very disappointing.

Beautiful and cooked to perfection

Benny's send out breaded dried fish which is not cod. 1 small chips in a separate container for a double fish supper and 1 sachet of starter sauce. This has happened for the second time and very very disappointed as it's a fish and chip shop from which a cod fish with batter is expected with a decent amount of chips. Only writing this as this is my second time to be disappointed.

I waited over 2 and a half hours for my food. When I phoned I was told they were waiting on delivery drivers and when we phoned back the phone just rang out

Visited Benny’s when visiting family in Rutherglen. Really impressed with a small but very clean traditional fish and chip shop. Staff were great beautiful fresh fish cooked to order along with superb chips. First visit here but it will be regular when we visit. The best by far in the Rutherglen and Cambuslang area.

Chips weren't there usual best , plus forgot my can of juice

Pizza was burnt right through didn’t taste of anything and the king rib was so greasy it was inedible will never order again

this is the last time I will ever buy anything from here the 3rd time I have ordered food and not got what I have paid for cheese and oinion pizza crunch if you don’t have it don’t advertise it shocking absolutely out order AVIOD THIS CHIP SHOP AT ALL COSTS

twice I have asked for two cheese and oinion pizza crunch suppers and not just got plain cheese if the cheese & oinion is popular buy more in and not run out of it by 6:30 if you don’t have the product don’t advertise it and the amount of chips you get is shocking will be thinking twice about ordering from here again rapidly going down hill

Its the only chippy I order from now. Never a fault and delivery is always quick 😁 don't know where all these other bad rating are coming from 🙄

ordered at 19:33 delivered at 20:47 - order was wrong, put to back of queue right order delivered at 22:20 woman on phone was so cheeky too and to top it off food was rubbish!

There was hardly any chips with our haggis,hamburgers suppers and hardly any with the chips and curry sauce. Wasn't worth what I paid for

I was served what was clearly a tin of Heinz macaroni with cheese sprinkled on top and put in the microwave, and charged 3.80 for it, won't be back

really disappointed, seats get great food. last night I tried one of your “pastas” I ordered Macaroni and was delivered TINNED macaroni with a sprinkle of cheese on top, paid £4 for the privilege of chucking my dinner in the bin! really poor show.

came over two hours after ordering. over an hour after the time given by bennys. the diver hot lost food cold and person who answered phone when we called to complain was nothing but down right rude to my mum who is just out hospital after 4 weeks DO NOT USE

After one and a half hours, no delivery. Phoned and was told good would be another 40 minutes. So we cancelled.

Think it time to look at ur menu as it sayin 2lt cola yet I got 1.5lt bottle not happy about it one bit as for 2.40 a bottle I would think it would be 2lt one.

I wouldnt order again, found the food to be pretty dried out & hardly any chips in the suppers.

Prior to ordering I phoned to ask a question, staff were very helpful and friendly. Food arrived quickly and piping hot. My first ever order, and it was excellent. Lovely female delivery driver too. This could be disastrous for my waist line. I've found my new favourite chippy.

3 hours I waited for a chippy that is a 10 minute walk away from my house but to add to that my food came freezing and have had my phone calls ignored by them for the last hour. Disgrace.

Ordered food 2 hours ago. still not here at 10 to 11. No ones been answering the phone. If it turns up now I’m no taking it. last time I ordered from here I waited over 2 hours for delivery too.

ordered at 9.55 didn’t appear at my door till 11.52 and think I’m gonna accept it at that time of night? no chance absolute appalling second time they have done something like this there won’t be a 3rd shame though coz it’s the best chippy was supposed to be here At 11.15 which I though ok that’s a bit late but it will be here before that as always but no 11.52 they appeared no chance

I received my food just over an our late and it was freezing. The portion of chips and cheese had the smallest amount of cheese and couldn’t even eat due to the fact it had gone freezing and the chips had dried out.

A previous meal from them was near two hours late. This one arrived earlier however it was missing the chips from the Pizza meal

Food was cold and fish was dry and tasted like reheat I would not order from Bennies again

the meals where delicious but the fish had bones in it which was quite off putting other than that was excellent

Ordered for 7:45. Notified it would be delivered 8:15. Arrived 6:45!? Special fish was dry as a bone so the second fillet got binned. That's the first chippy I've had in about 10yrs. Gutted !

I will not be ordering again from here as my deliver was over an hour late & the shop is just around the corner from home, it was very poor service

waited ages on delivery . well over an hour . also ordered 2cans of juice to make it up to the minimum order amount and didn’t even get them with my order

Food not delivered. No one at store available by phone on the night. Told to phone “just eat” for my money back.

Ordered 2 10in pizzas and they looked like frozen Iceland ones. Far too thin. No crust and actually measured 9 inches so was dubbed out of money. Tasted good though.

Beyond a joke. DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIT AT LEAST 2 HOURS FOR FOOD!!! I ordered food at 5.25pm on a Sunday night. Said 45-60 mins then when confirmed said 18.45 27 phone calls to finally get through with it being busy or saying please hold and then being told the user is busy and hanging up on me. 7pm to be told food is on its way and out for delivery .. 7.30 phone again asking where the order is coming from to be told it ain’t even ready yet and ask to be refunded to be told just eat need to do it but my food it just getting made juSt now!!! food turns up at 7.35 and was warm as I said I wanted it delivered first for waiting just over 2 hours and being lied too the. The chips were tasteless.. and basically all the food went in the bin. I definitely wouldn’t be using it again.

A real treat to eat a carry-out special fish supper but there are many other treats to eat from Benny's shop.

Do not order from here unless you are in the shop or going to collect! Delivery time was a joke over 2 hours then wasn't even what we ordered! Not happy!

On ordering we got told there would be a 30 min wait on food, then the shop confirmed it would actually be 1hr 10 mins, we had paid online so we waited. When food arrived the southern fried chicken was inedible, completely burnt. Both pizzas were cold. Wont be ordering from Bennys again unfortunately.

it took an hour and a half to come and the pizza was cold and the fried chicken was uneatable. burnt to a crisp. the rolls were like rocks and the curry sauce was powdery

Dropped in here while in the area, the food appears to be made to order which meant it was very fresh, the premises could do with an upgrade, prices probably what you would expect from this type of eatery.

Food wasn’t good, especially the chips. Delivery time got added to an extra 30 mins and it was around 15minutes late after that. The food was cold. I will never order from here again.

Normally Bennys is spot on, tonight was awful. The chips look like reheats, came cold. Waited over 2hrs NOT GOOD

delivery scheduled for 1850 arrived at 1940. no refund or explanation apart from “its busy”. food cold, half of it was horrible. restaurant didn’t care of their mistake. will never order again. DO NOT GO HERE!

Late and cold fish tasted funny

I ordered my meal at 7.00pm and received confirmation at 7:02pm saying that the arrival would be 7:50pm ... At 7:54pm i called and was told that my meal was just getting bagged .. 8:55pm is when my door bell rang ... Along with my meal i ordered 4 pickles & only received 3 .. NEVER AGAIN ! Shockin , shockin service !

Tried to order fish supper as they don't keep any ready even at peak times but couldn't get through on phone. Went into shop and asked for a sausage supper which was ready. I stood for ages whilst they proceeded to box up home delivery orders. When I asked can I have my sausage supper I was told that customers who had phoned in orders at 4.30 pm were their priority. This was now 6pm. I said I am a customer who has come into your shop to be served don't you think you should serve me. Was told sorry but no phone in customers are our priority. I expressed my dissatisfaction and was told if you don't like it you can have your money back which I took. I told them their customer service was atrocious and why would someone coming into a shop not expect to be served when the goods were available. I was given my money back and told not to come back in future. Fail to see how this business will survive with this attitude.

worst service ever, staff are very rude on the phone which includes getting hung up on, delivery time took 2 hours for a can of juice and two bags of chips. no sorry expressed by the shop either.

Ordered at 6:30 pm and arrived at 8:55 pm!! Really not acceptable

- order placed at 7.20- no food an hour later. Phoned and was told there were lots of deliveries before mine. Came and collected it. Food was gross. Out of date sausage or something. :)

Food was hour and ten mins late supposidly the driver slid on a bit of ice and hit a island and burst his tyre 3 kids sitting waiting to be fed try and call and they ignore the phone Food eventually came and wasn’t fresh like she assured me it would be just eat tried to call Aldo and they blanked there call also never again waste of £20

Chips were ok but ordered southerfried chicken first issue it was on the bone that was not stated then was really greasy on the outside but very dry on the inside. Would not recommend or order again.

Shocking avoid like the plague

firstly took 3 hours after the order was placed for it to turn up and then it got really bad cos I found out that a roll and hamburger means just a hamburger was shocked because I could have swore the roll bit was misleading. Also I never knew pizza crunch stood for plank of wood cos we needed a saw to cut it wonder what the pizza toppings were cos it seamed a lot like sawdust. totally shocking experience will never order from there again
