Terrible food, cold fish, small and price of large.

One of the best food experiences during my husband and I’s trip to Glasgow from the USA. Not only were the three ladies running the shop so kind (they put our other food in the warmer while we waited), but the food is incredible. Get the fish supper with extra salt and vinegar. Don’t miss this spot!

My wife and I are visiting from the states so take this for what you will. But we’ve been trying every fish and chip shop we see, just about 😅. And this is hands down our favorite. Obviously the food is amazing, but really it was the lovely ladies that work in there sealed the deal for us. We will be talking about this place when we get back home. And we hope to make it back someday soon.

My Husband and I would not go to any other chippy, I even drive to it as it isn't local to us. the food and service are 100%.

I ordered a single fish and a single black pudding nicely cooked and very hot when I got it delivered thank you benny worth the money

I really liked that it was 3 older ladies running the show. Loved listening to them chit chat away ans gossip! They were friendly and food we had was fine.

Only had a delivery so can't really comment on atmosphere. Ford good and piping hot.

Editing my old negative review. To be fair to them, they certainly have improved dramatically from what I guess was a little dip and now always give you an accurate indication over the phone of how long their food will take to be delivered to you. when it arrives it is always piping hot and unlike other local "Cafes" their fish is of good quality and not caked in batter. Girls on the phone are nice to chat too, haven't a complaint with their service or food in the last 6 months. Best chippy in the area and very reasonable prices.

This is the best chippy in Glasgow in my experience! The food tastes delicious and is consistently nice! The owner is a polite chatty guy and it is very reasonable priced. More importantly as I said it tastes good. I would highly recommend the place without hesitation!

Roll and chips massive amount wow best in Glasgow onion crunch wow and chips and chicken nuggets roll pickles the lot all fresh and beautiful 10/10 thanks Royston area staff so nice on phone aswell 👌❤️black pudding fritters omg 😍 as for the reviews a have seen on this some are nuts no tongs they wouldn't be able to lift hot food with fingers or hands also a gherkin was horrible something wrong with folk defo best chippy about and am fussy n this is amazing keep up the hard work

Ordered a few items, staff did not even use tongs to pick up food, used thier fingers instead, DISGUSTING, Wont be going back.

Wow, just the best. The best fish and chips in town…Our family have had the opportunity to have a couple of fish and chips etc from this place and we are never disappointed. Portions are huge and the taste is just yum yum.. What a great service also.. If you want a decent fish supper then this is the place to visit or to buy from. Friendly staff, and good hearty people. The food from here is awesome every time I've ordered, it always arrives very quickly and is really hot. It is the best fish and chip bar I've ever ordered from. Absolutely brilliant in all aspects.

Black Pudding Supper was lovely but knocking off a couple stars as the gherkin was horrible and past its best

Maybe I was unlucky but ordered two fish suppers around 5pm on a Saturday afternoon. The batter was so hard on the fish that it was hard to cut through and the chips were also hard and practically inedible. Very disappointed as I had been shouting the praises of this place as used to be a regular. For over £16.00 this was an expensive mistake I will not be repeating.

The freshest fish , I have tasted! It’s the best chippy in Glasgow, by miles ! Authentic old fashioned beef dripping fat is used, what a taste a wee east end gem.

I have never had a bad meal from Bennys. Reasonable price and staff are very friendly and helpful.

Well I have to say that was the worst fish supper I have ever had the fish was really thin and they must have given me the smallest fish there. Both the fish and the chips were very cold and that was me going straight home was so looking forward to having a fish supper. They used to be better than this not good value for the money they charged.

Great wee chippy .nice and fresh

First went to Benny's in 2014 and the first place we went in 2019 was for fish and chips at Benny's on our holiday from Canada. The staff, food and service is terrific. We would have the fish and chips at least twice a week. My wife and I are looking forward to going back in 2020, first night will be Benny's. Doug Lines Oakville, Ontario

Always excellent service and food is served fresh and with a smile. Shop is kept really clean and if you have a request for anything they will do whatever they can to help you. I keep going back again and again so that is testament enough!
