Bengali Takeaway in South Staffordshire

I ordered a take without reading the review, but my experience was not pleasant. The order was late over an hour and a half I had to call 3 times to find out what was going on with my order, Not happy with the service or the food. Wouldnt recommend this place to my friend or family, doing this review so the public are not misled as the service was 0 points asked for a reduction but he couldn't help with that Had a good mind not to pay the delivery man but I didn't have the heart. So paid But really want the public to know it's not the best food or service. And in my opinion, it is the most important thing when it comes to catering….

They have lost my business after giving them the benefit of the doubt from previous experiences. This time I ordered on Just Eat. Order got cancelled without calling me. So called to be told the just eat machine was down. I ordered over the phone and was told it was going to be £12.75. When the driver finally came,he said £14 odd. I said that's not right I was quoted cheaper. I said I will call the shop which I did, to be told the person who took my order was new and he gave me the wrong price..I said that's not my fault, he then said oh it doesn't matter just pay what I was told. The person who took my order sounded like the person I called while the driver was here and he's not new. The Naan bread was really soggy, not nice at all. I've had issues before but this is the last time I will be using them.

The food was very good, I can't complain about anything, enjoyed my hot meal, very good customer service, always polite staff and welcoming. Lots of free items such as salad mix, poppadoms and mint sauce. Have become a regular customer...

Good food, great value. Order was ready when they said and when unpacked at home everything was steaming hot and fresh.

Just had a meat samosa and it wad disgusting. Not at all crispy but flat and tasteless. Won't be ordering any of those again. I had my usual chicken tikka and the chicken was very tough. Very dissatisfied with my meal

Best Indian around Wolverhampton really cheap always use these (Leo). Recommend to a lot of friends and family never fail to satisfy

To anyone considering using Bengal Spice in Bilbrook DON'T order from them under any circumstances ! placed my order just after 6 was told it would be 20 past 7 as they were busy fine... waited waited and waited NOTHING contacted just eat and requested a refund but this never came though complained to just eat to be told my food was delivered ! NO was then told JE can't do anymore and to ring Bengal spice And Guess what ? they left my meal outside in the rain and wind on my doorstep ! this is acceptable practice if they dont bother knocking your door and they tried every way of squirming out of that too I have dogs and anyone knows dogs bark when there is someone at the door no way was this food delivered before at least 9 Pm and then just let out in this weather. A refund request was made as i didn't receive my food on time etc and was point blank refused i quote " You got your takeaway its on the doorstep !" trading standards, Environmental health and food standards agency will be getting a call on monday and who ever else i can think of to get this company shut down asap before someone is seriously ill or worse an animal dies as result of eating tainted food left outside !

Big order on a week night. Took a while but staff very good friendly and helpful and food was very good and great value. No problems. Recommended

Wow!! That was wonderful thank you. Loads to eat! We ordered the meal deal set for 3 ppl. Well worth the £17.95 - we had loads to eat, ordered off just eat and it arrived 30 mins early. So they’ve upped there game as usually late. We will defiantly order this again. Portion sizes are good.

Food was ok . But cold. And not a lot off it. We ordered on our way back home, we were coming from brownhills so approx a 40 min drive. They said it would definitely be ready in 40 mins. No it wasn’t ! We had to wait a further 40 mins which I wasn’t impressed by. There were others waiting and complaining in the dirty waiting area. This place is in desperate need of a good clean. The skirting boards were black with dust & it needs a coat of paint. the phone was continuous ringing with complaints.- We’re is my food ? - You’ve forgotten this & that? What a shambles Not impressed with the customer service so far. Don’t think it’s managed very well. They do get busy and make too many promises they can’t keep too. Think we’re going to try the one up the road in future by the garage.

Made the decision to order eith bengsl spice due to positive reviews on internet. Twice used and twice have been given expected times (once for collection, once delivery) that were a lie. The first time was NYE so gave benefit of doubt, the second was told delivery would be an hour after ordering, called after hour and half and told would be another 45mins...im sorry but over 2hours to cook a 4 person meal is just poor, either advise of timescale or true expected delivery time. Don't just blatantly lie. Food, when eventually received was mediocre both times. Won't be using again, neither should you!!!

Food was great. But cold. We ordered a just eat at 6pm on a Saturday night. Expected delivery time was 7.45 pm. So we knew they were busy. It came 20 mins late and was cold. Maybe you need more staff? The previous week on the Tuesday I’d made an online order through just eat and they just cancelled it? No explanation. Not impressed with the customer service so far.

Never tried Bengal spice before it’s our first time. our usual takeaway has put there delivery charge up. So we’ve jumped ship. Glad we did. Food was amazing. Very tasty . My husband had naga chicken a very hot curry and he really really tasty. His words were “ this is more than very nice “ He had pilau rice & a nan bread. Perfectly cooked. I had boiled rice and chilli chicken tikka Massala - with a roti. Wow!! That was really tasty. One of the best I’ve ever tasted. We shall order take away from here again. It was delivered early than notified also. Excellent can’t wait for our next one.

Always order from here and we are never disappointed. I have tried most of the menu by now and have been happy withbit all. Every dish tastes different which is not always the case with a busy take away. I can recommend the garlic chilli chicken and saag aloo in particular.

We had the misfortune to order from here this evening as it was difficult to drive to our usual place The Shimla. The curry was cold, pilau rice was plain rice with red food colouring sprinkled on top. The Bhuna tasted like ‘chicken soup’ with no spices at all. My husband waited for an hour to be given his order, which was quite difficult to grasp when it had obviously been cooked quite a while. Thank you for the menu...helped fill up our blue bin

Really tasty food. Good value and prompt delivery despite it being a busy time,6 nations evening and just general Saturday business.

food ordered, friendly staff, delivered in 3/4 hour great meal, I have never had a bad meal from Bengal Spice

Ordered a take away last night at 6.15pm through just eat. The time for delivery stated 8pm. Twice as long as anywhere else for a Saturday night. 8pm came and went, at 8.30 I phoned and was told my food was still there and was being bagged ready to go. At 9pm still no delivery so I phoned again only to over hear a man very aggressively shouting "we are very busy! Don't they get we are very busy!". Well.....however busy you may be you took the order and set the delivery time, I paid for it, if you cant meet the order don't take it! Not even a phone call to say it was running late. I received my food 3 hours after placing the order and it was cold. Never again. Worst place I have ever ordered from.

Bengal spice left me and my family feeling good and stuffed, the food was brilliant and well cooked 10 out of 10 to the chefs and the service was great there was smiles all around, great banter and waiting did not take long at all, would definitely be ordering from there alot more x

Ordered food for delivery at 7.55 and was told 8.15. At 8.30 rang up as no food arrived and was told just waiting for the last dish and be 20 mins. At 8.30 still no food so rang again. Told they were waiting for the driver to come back and be another 15 minutes! At 9.00pm still no food so rang again to be told roads are bad (true) be 15 mins. At 9.30 guess what NO FOOD so rang and was told driver was on way he left 15 minutes ago .... this place is 10 min away!!! Arrived at 9.46pm....cold food, overcooked, greasy and awful.

Oh my God think we have just found our new curry house the food is so delicious well worth the wait my only grape is I wish they did a chilli cheese nan keep up the good work guys my Saturday takeaway will always be with you from now on if you haven't tried before please do you will not disappointed keep up the great work guys

Have used this takeaway for years. Usually great and worth the wait for delivery not this time. Pathia was like a tikka masala, really sweet, not spicy in any way. We must be last on the delivery route as we're only about 5 mins drive away and everything was lukewarm. Disappointed.

Love the meals here....lots of choice..cooked nice and hot and delivery free if local always my first choice for a takeaway

First time we used this but not dissapointed. We love our Indian cuisine and this was one of the very best we have tried .good service, good prices and fabulous food.

Have had 2 meals from here now. Both have been very tasty and the use of fresh ingredients is obvious, but with both collections we have had to wait far too long. 25 minutes over what you estimated last night. Speed it up or be more realistic. Will give it another try.

Had a takeaway from here yesterday as a vegetarian it was bland not to as flavoursome as it could've been. If you go for collection you get 10% off which isn't too bad. It was ready in time l, might give it another try and have a different option to see if that is better.

Yet again another superb meal from the unassuming Bengal Spice. Restaurant quality served at home.Would definitely recommend giving them a go.

Myself and my Husband have just had the most fantastic Indian Takeaway from Bengal Spice. We ordered on arrival at the takeaway and only waited approx. 20 minutes for our food.The quality/taste/amount of food you get for your money is just fantastic value for money. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!Definitely worth a try! Go on, you wont be sorry!

We use this Indian takeaway regularly and it never disappoints! The food is nicely cooked and full of flavour, the portions are a good size and we cannot complain about the price! The staff are always friendly and we recommend the place!

Visited on many occasion and thought I would share to everyone how wonderful the food is. The staff are lovely people and very helpful in recommending food. This place is a great value for money and I've never had any problems at all. Super service!

Our first time at the Bengal Spice, thought we would give it a go as someone on Facebook had recommended it.The gent who took the order on the phone was lovely and friendly and was very welcoming on arrival to collect our food. A lovely and spotless collection area :)The proof of the pudding is in the tasting and it has gone down a treat tonight! Full of flavour and lovely consistency. I had the chicken tikka which was tender and tasted delicious with a mix of onions. Our other dishes were chicken tikka massala and chicken tikka dansak (madras hot) both beautifully cooked. It was like 'eating in' food quality which was excellent! We would highly recommend and look forward to using here very soon.

The foods always really nice and its one of the cheapest takeaways around. Can't really fault it, my favourite is the tandoori king prawn Madras with garlic Nan.

We order a curry to be delivered from here weekly and it's by far our favourite locally. Always fresh and tasty and the staff are really enthusiastic and friendly, often writing us little notes on the containers which make us smile! We often say how great it would be if they had the option of eating in as the food is as good as any Indian restaurant we've been to even after being packaged up and driven to our door. 10/10 from us!

Four different meals for four different levels and types of spice enjoyed.. Once again the food was hot, tasty and plentiful. I can highly recommend the chicken madras and the speciality Bengal.... Will always use these for our Indian takeaway..

We live in Codsall and have used this takeaway for 12 months. I've sampled many of the dishes from the extensive menu and I have always found them to be fresh and authentic. My better half always opts for a Chicken Tikka and mushroom balti and this has been consistently good every time. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The delivery service is normally prompt and food always arrives hot. Overall nice food cooked well at a reasonable price, what's not to like.

Well run village takeaway , worth a drive to find ... Ask for the extensive menu or an off menu Breath of the Tiger . a stir fry with a Bengali twist... Full of flavour and mildly spiced..Fayze, the owner, asked us to sample it and all my family ,who are locals, loved it .
