Food was just bland and sat in lots of oil

poor quality food - momo a shadow of what it used to be; aloo tasteless; chicken tikka looks radioactive

The food turned up completely stone cold. Had to reheat all. Understand the fact that travelling food can cool down. But this was cold!! Not tepid. Actually cold.

Food arrived early but bombay potatoes were lukewarm and the dhal was of a very sloppy consistency. Bengal Spice has been my 'go to' place in Crawley for 20yrs so hoping this was a one off poor experience.

Drop off and driver were pleasant, very tasty food and great service. A+++

Been twice now, and I have to say each time has been consistently great food and proper customer service and even suggesting a starter not on the menu but geared to our tastes… I have ( my belly is proof) frequented most curry houses in Crawley and Bengal Spices has to be up there now. I know it’s early stages for the new management, but if they build on this, then it will be number one choice going forward.

The chicken wasn't as tender as usual

The Bengal Spices is now under new management and new chefs so ignore all the previous comments on here. My and my wife paid a visit and we were not disappointed. The new owner was very welcoming and helpful. My wife had the Tandoori fish grill which was delicious , well cooked and seasoned and plentiful. I went for the Bengal special curry which was very tasty with a nice heat . Highly recommend a visit as its back to its best .

Our delivery was over 90 minutes late from Bengal Spice! And then we had to call back as they had forgotten our Naan Breads!

Great service. I’ve mistaken prawn for chicken from the first sight. But the staff on the phone was really kind to clarify everything for me. The food was excellent too😋

Food was cold The shaslick had dried out 2nd time in a row we have ordered food from this restaurant and the driver hasn't found us It's a shame I have normally enjoyed the food but not the last 2 meals The spice ratings on the menu is all wrong

the food was cold. onion bhaji and samosas soaked in grease. the vegetable samosas has so much chilli in them that they ere not pleasant to eat. bengal spices usually very good but extremely disappointed at quality on this occasion

very disappointed, since when has lamb tika masala been lamb pasanda with red food colour added? not up to the usual standards expected from this establishment.

we had exactly the same order as last time, but one of the curries was very different. and not that nice

ordered the chicken tikka Bhakara which said mild. when it arrived it was not mild but infact very spicy. I complained to Just Eat who refused a refund saying every place has their own taste. this was an expense and meal wasted.

The food was excellent. I particularly liked the fact that my Biryani was not overly spicy hot and the meat was tender and succulent.

The food was lukewarm by the time we got it- the app said the food had been delivered at 8:10 and I had to call the restaurant who assured me it would be a few more minutes at 8:20 - it turned up at 8:35 after saying it had been delivered at 8:10- won’t use this restaurant again.

The food was really hot, very good quality and good portion sizes. Very good value for money. Will definitely order from them again

Everything was good but had an item missing which ruined the dinner.

Super tasty but arrived barely warm.

We ordered a mix grill which was definitely not the case, small portions and definitely needs improvement. The kebabs smelled a little strange so didn't eat them?? The mushroom rice was nice and chicken korma, but a little disappointed with the flavor of the lamb bhuna.

Forgot part of my order again, has happened a number of times now, will be looking for a new place to order from

Food was over an hour late, called 43 times with no answer. Had to go to the store to find out where my order was. Someone rang the driver who then lied it had been delivered. Once it did arrive it was cold. By far the worst experience I’ve ever had which is a shame cause Bengal was a go. This experience has ruined it forever.

First and only time il use them, Order didn’t even show up, thought I’d treat my children as Father’s Day is a hard day for them and this topped it off, I now have 2 hungry children and no dinner!! Absolute joke

Items were missing from the set meal for two. No onion salad or mint sauce which we had last time and although the order was on time it was all stone cold!! Unfortunately we were so hungry we ate it as fast as we could! We don’t normally experience a bad meal from here but we did this time which has put us off spending our “treat” money here again!

My order of 2 portions of bhindi Bajhi was incorrectly prepared. There was no sauce or onions or tomatoes. I’ve had this meal many times before, so I know how it should be prepared

Awful from customer service to the meal - whole "experience is dreadful" Had to order 3 times (yet it was still wrong) No draught beer only bottles ( which where warm) then offered ice to put in it to be cold! Lamb curry I wouldn't even feed to my dog it was so dry and chewy Bombay potatoes where stone cold Butter chicken looked more like a carbonara with the odd bit of chicken tikka chucked in for good measure ( yes the red tikka in a white creamy sauce didn't mix well) 🤢 Bhajis where soaked in oil I could open a refinery. Staff members had no care or compassion and generally rude. Do not visit this restaurant- used to be so good but not now - tesco microwave meal would have been more satisfying!

This place is so hit and miss. This week we ordered at 7pm. Delivery time 8-8:25. Had to chase the order at 8:45 to be told it will arrive in 10 mins. I cancelled the order when it didn’t arrive and it turned up 10 mins later. Food was lukewarm, had to be reheated. £4 credit to my account.

40 mins late, food was only luke warm. Green chicken curry was tasteless, plenty of chicken but low on flavour. Chicken Biryani was nice.

Always have amazing experience with Bengal, food is great, speed and service is amazing.

Overcooked shrivelled chewy prawns which made the main inedible and keema naan with hardly any keema. Really disappointed, normally the food is spot on.

What can I say the best by far in my opinion

Food was late by 30 mins and cold,had to microwave it which makes it taste even worse than it was,it was meant to be spicy which it wasn't at all and just packed out with onions and hardly any meat....total waste of money...won't use again.

I ORDERED A CURRY AND RICE FOR DINNER TAKEAWAY, WAITING TIME WAS 45 MINUTES FOR MY ORDER TO ARRIVE, AFTER 1 HR20 MINUTES I CALLED THEM TO ASK WHY MY ORDER WAS LATE BY 45 MINUTES ONLY TO BE TOLD MY FOOD HADNT EVEN BEEN MADE, THE FOOD ARRIVED AND WHEN IT DID AFTER ANOTHER 25 MINUTES, I WAS GIVEN THE WRONG RICE WITH MY MEAL 2X OVER (SEPERATE DELIVERIES, AFTER THAT A TOTAL OF JUST OVER 2 HOURS SINCE THE ORDER, MY FOOD HAD GONE COLD. I DONT RECCOMEND DELIVERY OR BE CAUTIOUS. NOT ORDERERING AGAIN.

Food turned up 15 minutes late and was cold. Disappointed as food is normally on time and hot.Tried contacting the restaurant but no answer

Spent over 15 minutes on the phone to the delivery driver directing to the delivery address as he couldn’t find it. Ended up having to go out and find him. Delivery address was pinned on the app and the address is recognisable on SatNavs. The food was then all cold.

Excellent meal as usual and arrived very quickly

food was good quality, chapattis excellent but knocked a star off as we didn't get the onion salad we ordered. service late we ordered earlier so restaurant had plenty of time to plan delivery.

zero flavour in the meat, sauces were just oil with no flavour. portion sizes for rice and sides are a joke

Ordered this meal Tuesday and it was the best meal I've had in a long long time, ordered the same meal tonight (Saturday) and it was completely different,awful...don't understand, different chef maybe or just rushed...won't order at weekends again,maybe weekdays either to be honest,more expensive than most and won't risk it...shame.

Really good curry - will definitely be back. Only disappointment was that we ordered mint sauce and didn’t get it, which we were gutted about!

Another outstanding meal. Service is friendly and attentive, and food is absolutely delicious. We are spoilt for choice with good curry restaurants in Crawley, but every meal we have at Bengal spices always stands out

Another excellent meal delivered hot and on time

If I could award a nil score, I would. We had a girls night at my house comprising of my 2 daughters and granddaughter. We ordered a delivery at 7.30pm to the tune of £98 which finally arrived past 9pm. Well, what can I say! It was completely mush. There were no chunks of chicken in the chicken jalfrezi but sliced chicken instead. Sauce in the butter chicken was very watery. Meat samosa’s were white and the chicken pakoras were like suet dumplings. And above all, it was COLD. We ended up by putting it in the microwave once plated up. It was so disappointing. We had the girls night planned for many weeks and the curry was a complete let down. We contacted bengal spices who said that they would refund 50%. However, we are still waiting. As a family, we have ordered from Bengal spices regularly and it did come in our top 3 of Indians in Crawley. We were so disappointed that were will not be going anywhere near this establishment in the future and urge others to stay away.

The order was over 1 hour later than the delivery time. We had lamb Balti and the lamb was so tough we couldn’t eat it.. all in all very disappointing

The peshwari naan did not get delivered and the one of the dishes was spilt all over the delivery bag.

Myself and my partner sat down and ordered drinks and poppadoms whilst looking at menu, during this time a other table was making a complaint which the waiter seems uninterested in. Our poppadoms and chutneys came, the poppadoms were overcooked. We then found two hairs in our chutneys!!! The waiter came over to ask of we were ready to order, to which we said we would like the bill and e placed we had found hair in the chutneys and showed him. The waiter couldn't care less about our complaint and didn't even acknowledge what we had said. No apology nothing! Will never set foot in this restaurant again!

I'm not sure if it's because we had a loyalty card discount bit this time its been very bad:tikka mañana was some shredded chicken bits swimming in a very sweet sauce. I'm still looking for a piece of chicken. Prawn balti was also very small prawns.

Curry had leaked all in the bag so half of it was not edible. Onion bhaji oil had gone all over the food too

Unfortunately the biryani wasn’t edible - it was far too spicy. We’ve ordered regularly from here and is usually good however not this time

Best Indian food in Crawley. Surpassed others by a mile. 8/10. Bhajis and samsosas could’ve been more flavourful, nonetheless, still top quality.

On the website it says enjoy food have waited ages for it called the restaurant it’s near but has been out for delivery for 35 minutes

Apart from some of the order being only warm, not hot, this being the second time that I've complained about the temperature of the food, the lamb in my Pasanda was ridiculously tough and absolutely inedible. We won't be ordering from them again

Best curry I’ve had in a while !

A friend & I have been getting takeaways from this restaurant for many years and always recommended the food to friends. The past three times however we have found the quality of the food has really gone downhill. On the most recent order we added a note to the online order requesting as part of the order a mild and a medium-mild curry. So, table laid & excitement building for our first takeaway together in a while. What a disappointment!! The once amazing samosas & onion bhajis were mediocre, the mild curry was very spicy, the lamb curry was poor (once tender lamb chunks are now replaced with small bitesize chewy/fatty slices) & the raita dip had just a few little bits of cucumber popped in the set yogurt (?) for good measure. Really not great & neither of us will be hurrying for another meal from there.

Whilst it was great to receive the order early, my side was incorrect. I order 1 x Onion and 1 x Onion Salad. Instead, one of them was a cold yoghurt based onion side dish. I would prefer that Bengal Spice take a little more time to ensure accuracy of the order.

The korma was like Tilgate lake and the naan hard as nails

Butter chicken had too much coconut taste. Biriyani didn’t taste nice and all food was cold. Threw most of it away!
