Bellflower in Wyre

Very shabby and neglected from the outside. Extremely large pub which was quite empty and consequently lacked any atmosphere. The service was not the best and neither was the food which seemed microwaved. The Wainwrights beer was good.

I booked a table for 2 diners at 1900 hrs on the automated phone booking service at approximately 1700 hrs . We arrived at approximately 1830 hrs to be told there was a problem with the kitchen and food service was off. I enquired when the problem was known about and was told this morning. Why was the booking service still live if this was the case?? . The place was pretty empty and I suspect the so called problem was more of an issue with it not being financially viable to run the service on a quiet night. We won't try again . Fuming !!!!

Food was good, steak was cooked exactly how it should be, was quite for a bank holiday service was a little slow, I think they were training new staff, price of the food was very good ca t argue food quality or price, the pub did seem a little tired inside though

We have come on holiday and wanted some good food, we have driven past here a couple of times and decided to have a try. No complaints, food lovely, service great. Atmosphere was nice and quiet just how we like it.

Booked a table with a small dog in the dog seating area. Warm welcome, good food for a good price.

Staff great, kebab meal so disappointing, ordered salt and chilli chicken. Did not expect chicken thigh meat, it was disgusting and so fatty. Could not eat it. Menu should stipulate whether chicken breast or thigh. Had I known would not of ordered it.

Great local pub, nice food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Happy to now have this local to me.

We had just been to watch the Legends North West Rally in Garstang and popped into two other establishments. On our way back to our campervan, we stopped off for a final drink. It turned out to be the most expensive drinks of our evening. £17..15 for a pint of larger, medium Sauvignon, one pack of crisp and KP nuts. It was a lovely place, just rather expensive.

Staff shortages and a limited menu

Went last week for the first time. We both had the cowboy burger. The food was great and the staff were very courteous. The pub is immaculate. We will definitely be going back

Stopped off last Saturday on our way back from Preston. Had the cowboy burger which was lovey. Good value for money. Service was excellent. Very clean and well maintained

We'll 2 meals we're okay but the Sunday lunch was cold so we sent them back then they came back hot with an apology pudding was lovely and dog liked it

Place had no atmosphere. Very cold inside had to ask for a blanket for my 80yr old mother. Only had dog blankets.. drinks very expensive.. wont be coming again

We are so impressed with the Bellflower this last few months. We haven't had a bad meal and this visit was no exception. We brought the whole family for my mums birthday meal this time so we had a table of 10. Everybody's meal was hot, well cooked, good portion and served with smiles. Everybody commented on how happy they were with their food and there's usually somebody who isn't!! Keep doing what you're doing - don't change a thing!

Well what can I say i have visited the Bellflower twice in the last month due to birthday celebrations both times I could not fault the service the staff are very attentive (even if Paul's jokes are a little repetitive, went with two different parties so only I noticed)..... I took my little boy on the last visit and when he decided to touch his pasta as soon as it had come out of the kitchen Josh (I think that was his name) was very quick to bring some ice in a bowl to help with the burn, Paul was very good at helping to distract my little boy with some jokes toys silly faces and making him laugh instead of cry. I would definitely recommend this place if you want a family friendly establishment or a few drinks and meal with friends. Keep up the good work guys!!!

Very friendly staff.Pub was extremely quiet but still had a lovely atmosphere. Food was excellent quality and big portions. We had to have dessert even though we were full. Server gave a good description of the special that was available. We felt relaxed and welcomed. Especially enjoyed it being so dog friendly.

If you like mediocre micro-wave food then this is the place for you. But it would be cheaper to micro-wave your own meal at home with no loss of quality. Although this is the nearest pub to where I live, I will not drink there again. The last pint I had there was so bad that I left half of it (not done lightly). I cannot understand the good food reviews this place gets. Please do not visit this place; they do not deserve your custom.

The food was great really enjoyed it however I ordered my food and drinks on the online system food came with no drinks my bug bear so I reminded them I ordered drinks and they turned up, then I ordered dessert with drinks again dessert came no drinks so I thought I would just wait, about 20 minutes later a member of staff walked pass so I told him about my drink order, 5 minutes later still no drinks so after 25 minutes of waiting I got a refund I find this totally unacceptable the people behind the bar said the system doesn't alert them when the drinks are ordered which is stupid u need to change this ASAP not good enough

The food at the bellflower was delicious and tasty. The service was quick and the staff very friendly. Pet dogs are welcome. So if your passing you won't be disappointed if you drop in.

Just had a lovely meal at the Bellflower service was good & very speedy, food was really good - only had a burger & fries but it was very tasty, hot and well presented. Great atmosphere with an excellent choice of background music, very relaxing. It was really quiet with plenty of tables available. We were made to feel welcome and nothing was to much trouble for the very happy, friendly & smiling staff.

We brought our two dogs here and had lunch! Special doggy menu was excellent and our food arrived quickly and was delicious. Paul was very attentive and kind to our dogs as well. Great place to relax and all staff very friendly. The dog set up is the best we’ve ever seen, free blankets and beds to use. Plenty of water, treat and bowls to use. Lovely! We’ll be back soon! Supremely average. Clean. Huge. Very average food and service a bit hit and miss. Massive menu choice but food felt like mass manufactured pre-prepped. I have never previously tasted an onion ring that tasted of nothing. Just not for us.

Initial service was okay, food was okay. However the whole experience was let down by no checking in with us after serving us. No one asked if we were okay, no one said bye or thank you after we got up to leave. So no, we won't be coming back. Thankfully lots of other options around the area to choose from.

Visited the Bellflower to meet my dad and we had a family meal. The food was lovely the staff are great and even with my fussy order changes they still couldn't do enough to make our experience amazing. Would recommend this place for good old fashioned pub grub with amazing staff 🤤☺️

Wonderful dog friendly pub. They even have a doggy menu, dog blankets and cushions, and even bottles of dog water and you can buy dog treats etc. In the ladies toilets they provide free sanitary products too. A beautiful pub and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We'll worth a visit. Thank you to all.

Even the customers were friendly, you certainly don't get this down in South London were I used to live. Thank you to all the staff and keep doing what your doing.. I forgot to mention how lovely and clean this place was inc the toilets.

When we came in july 2023 it was a lovely visit with happy cheerful waiter and the food portions were more than adequate. But on a trip valentines 2024 was surprised to see no waiters and although the food was nice the portions had shrunk. The sirloin steak was supposedly 8 oz but it looked tiny in fact ive seen bigger mushrooms and i counted 10 fries in total, I don't normally count my food but it was something very noticable... it was our second visit, but, the way it is going it will be our last !

Popped in for lunch today. Great staff, lovely décor and the best fish and chips we have had in a long while.

Had to take back my glass twice as it was dirty lipstick on side of glass. Then found a human hair strand in my food did explain to supervisor no mention of money back or change the meal I certainly won’t be going back If your going check your drinking glass and meal That’s my advice

After a hard day at work, treated ourselves to a meal. Great service, food and atmosphere. Staff always happy to help. Pub is always clean and tidy.

Came here for lunch and really enjoyed it, staff were so friendly and really made us at home. Food was great and they’ve just got a new menu so definitely worth going back to try all the new dishes. Also have a great dog area with water and dog bowls so will have to bring the pupper as well 😁

I have been a couple times before. It is reasonably priced. The staff were great couldn't do enough for us. one member of staff who stood out was Catherine I think she hasn't been there long but knew what she was doing. Thanks again for a great night

Popped in here after a night at the flower bowl , wasn’t expecting anything extraordinary, I just wanted a glass of wine and a snack , my husband went to the bar and tried to order a glass of wine ( Sauvignon Blanc) to a barman this should be nothing out of the ordinary, barman didn’t have a clue and had to shout which I presume is the manager over , saying “ oh he wants something “fancy “ ! Who I presume is the manager did point out the correct wine then sat behind us on her laptop , meanwhile food arrived which was as expected, ok . Then said barman and another member of staff continued to swear and just be really unprofessional infront of house management and us ….hospitality at these times should be really taken seriously and you all should be totally professional at all times .. staff training is very much needed

A pleasant visit, nice food, staff were friendly and attentive. Only downside we found was that rather than asking if you would like extras the gentleman said “do you like Yorkshire puddings?” My daughter said yes and it was added as an extra and charged for, the same with the Mac and cheese they said it was served with bbq sauce and dried onions which I said we didn’t like so he said “do you like chicken and bacon?” We said yes and thought this would be a swap but no it was added as an extra and we were charged again. I don’t agree with this way of adding extras and think you need to have a talk to your staff about appropriate upselling.

We visited 3 times during the festive period Dec 23 -Jan 24. We received a warm welcome on the 3 occasion. Food was loverly. The dogs really enjoyed the canine dinners too.

Started regularly having lunch in Bellflower last summer , 2022, following a couple of really bad experiences in the Roebuck , where we used to go regularly. Always have a good experience in the Bellflower with great choices of good food from quick lunches to “ proper” main meals . The drinks are just as good from coffee to cocktails . Just been again today . Served by Paul who was professional yet friendly. Knowledgeable on the menu and went out of his way to assist everyone . The caramel apple tart was delicious!

We travelled up from north wales to meet family from Newcastle half way, this time we chose Preston area. We went bowling nearby but the attached restaurant had no availability so we used Google maps to find another venue. The bellflower came up, we read some reviews and we booked online, it was very short notice and there was five adults and five children to accommodate. It was very helpful we were able to book above the usual party of six immediately and online without having to ring and check. When we arrived the tables were ready and reserved for us. It was very quiet but we were on an early lunch timing. We weren’t offered the necessary amount of menus for the volume of us but figured that ourselves. We also had to check if it was table service or bar as we weren’t told on arrival. When the food arrived, the portions were good and delicious. The chips were some of the best I’ve had to be honest. One of our party has some food issues and couldn’t find a meal he’d enjoy so had fries, he did enjoy them but was disappointed the option of a vegan burger like a beyond burger wasn’t available. The pub was clean, well decorated, very festive. We loved the doggie options. The staff were friendly and helpful when approached. As we were due to leave, a staff member very kindly told us we could use the side door to exit, a quicker option facing straight to the cars. The main door was a longer route and the rain (storm gerrit) was coming down in buckets sideways! It was very much appreciated. We’d definitely go back.

Booked a welcome home meal for my daughter from the festive menu, which was pre-ordered. The pub itself was pretty quiet which was surprising on a Friday evening. The food was very nice, just wasn’t overly keen on the tart - but that’s personal taste rather than anything against the pud. We were all big fans of the broccoli cheese! It was unfortunate they had not taken any notice of the requests in the notes of the preorder, meaning my daughter’s main & dessert were not quite as she would have preferred. Therefore if you have any specific preferences it might be worth giving them a call prior to your visit just to double-check they’ve received them. Asked for tubs to take home the leftovers, but we were told they weren’t allowed to put leftovers in tubs, but they at least wrapped it in foil for us.

Great place for an informal meal if accompanied by man's best friend. Food was well prepared and wholesome. The facilities provided for four legged guests set the Bellflower apart from the usual pub that tolerates dogs.

Having never been before, I was looking forward to seeing what it was like. The Christmas decor was fabulous. The staff, two out front, were very welcoming and pleasant. We ordered from the lite bites menu, soup and main, very nice. We ordered a dessert from the main menu, only because we wanted something that wasn’t on the lite bite menu. It was great. A very nice time was had.

Came from Lancaster to eat of the festive menu as we wanted turkey dinner but after asking told not doing it on what was on table menu. So lost out on 2 ppl eating plus 2 dogs dinner too. Why have festive menu online and no communication on social media channels that not doing this saving people travel for no reason. Updated At no point on the website does it state you must book a table to be able to eat from the festive menu at least one day before. If we had a table full then yes I would think of it but 2 ppl on a weds afternoon, And If it had then I would have done so. Maybe your staff should have mentioned that when we enquired about the menu rather than be dismissive and just say it's the menu on the table and that's it as she was to busy on her mobile didn't even look up from it as we left. Ok 1 star maybe is a bit harsh so updated it, but was very annoyed after travelling and not getting food after all the other times we have been it's always normally good service

Staff very welcoming Food excellent and served hot and quickly. Three of us had the southern fried hunters chicken very tender and extremely tasty and one had the grilled steak steak tender and cooked medium to rare as requested We all had the rocky road sundae for dessert A great indulgent ending to a great meal.

Very disappointed today. Advice to staff : when a customer tells you their meal is cold you do something other than offer to "reheat it". You don't come back to collect the plates and start talking about how you wrapped your Xmas presents last night....

Only booked here because our original choice pub didn't answer the phone. Having booked here instead, and bear in mind we'd not been before, and I had the in-laws to impress, I was wondering what I'd let us in for. First there was the artificial turf on the bar, then they couldn't find our booked table (turned out someone else was sat at it) so we chose our own table (I think we were in the dog section, but that was okay). After that, things picked up significantly. The menu was very comprehensive, good vegetarian selection, good service and food. We were admiring the dog-friendly menu and the clever colour-coded plastic cones to place on your table to indicate to others how your dog reacts. All-in-all a very pleasing visit and I'm sure we'll be back sometime.

Travelling back from North Wales and we needed a pit stop for food and a stretch of the legs and we found this place. All done out in a mass of Xmas Dec's. Happy staff. Dog areas with even a dog menu. Spotlessly clean. Food was amazing. Highly recommended. We know where to stop on our next to to Wales.

Really enjoyed our meal, staff lovely, especially Sandra who was excellent gave our dogs treats and asked how our meal was in conversation. Mac and cheese main meal, gorgeous and fish and chips, also amazing. Great place for dogs and people. Particularly liked the cone colour system for how friendly your dog is before anyone approaches.

Me and my partner walked in with my 13 year old daughter and her friend to the warmest welcome I have ever had in a pub. As any parent will no teenagers aren't easy to please and usually to cool for there parents, yet the supervisor named Paul made us have the best time as a family we ended up dressing up in Christmas outfits as a family getting pictures took. He made us not feel shy and actually brought us together as a family especially the fact he got us all involved with his encouragement. It was such an experience, he then taught us to make roses out of napkins along with telling the kids jokes. I can't believe I got a family experience like that just by going out for tea. Honestly I would have bought tickets for that kind of entertainment even other customers who was sat down came over to join in it felt so festive. Thanks Paul what amazing service

Great family pub, lovely place, good food and brilliant staff, will definitely call in again when back in Garstang. The Christmas decorations are certainly a hit with the youngsters.

Reagan was very pleasant professional and helpful. The food was reasonably priced and it was gorgeous with good sized portions and it was served quickly and cleared away quickly.
