Beefeater Grill in Darlington

Had a great stay in the premier inn, beefeater every morning and night for lunch, very friendly welcoming staff with great service, especially Lisa the manager going above and beyond everytime for our team, thank you so much.

Called without booking and was given a table and attended to by James who was very polite and friendly all night and also Jack who sorted out our bill. Nothing was too much bother and good to see staff who value their customers . The food was delicious and we look forward to our next visit

Well how to start. Went for some eats on the Friday and all the staff absolutely fantastic from the front of house, waitresses too the chef/chefs dealing with are asking for certain way for things to be cooked from very crispy bacon to no barbecue sauce on there rack off ribs.. and as for the food full off flavour and so tasty in fact so god damn good we went again the next day just to see if it was a fluke but I can clearly say it was not they absolutely smashed it again orders were filled to perfection yet again different staff on but so friendly and helpful even bringing refreshments over just as the last mouthful of cola was taken from the previous glass… So what I’m trying to say if your out this way in Darlington and want a nice friendly relaxing atmosphere some great eats and awesome service with a smile that makes your day drive pass the toby and stop at the beefeater.. 😄😘🤪

The waitress Leanne that served me, was very quick to take my order. My steak was cooked medium/well done exactly as I had ordered it. Although they were quite busy, I was not kept waiting long between courses, and the restaurant itself was warm and well lit with a friendly atmosphere, and surprisingly not overly noisy for a busy restaurant. I would definitely recommend dinning out here.

Enjoyed breakfast very much. Served quickly and the food was really nice. We stay in a lot of Premier Inn's and this is always well staffed, think there was 5 team members on that we saw on our Friday breakfast. Will be back.

Hi to all the staff at the Beefeater who have looked after me for 11 months whilst staying next door at the Premier Inn. I always have breakfast and evening meals and have never had any reason to complain, it's a great place to eat and the food is always enjoyable. The staff are always pleasant and attentive with a special thank you to Lisa and Jordan.

Good fish and chips nice peas fast service the only thing was the chips were slighty hard and been cooked in old oil. good for your money tho.

Bulk standard Beefeater menu - so huge. I can't help but feel food standards would improve if they cut it in half. The food was OK, not exceptional, and prepared with all the love of opening a tin of beans. Why does a burger have to be served on a sheet of paper on top of a plate? Bizarre. But the staff were polite & helpful, but being told that I ought to mention any allergies otherwise the paper work was horrendous was not quite how I anticipated starting my meal.

Food is as you would expect from a Beefeater, reasonable portions and served well. If you are lucky enough to visit when Leanne is on shift you will not have to wait long to order your food or another drink etc. Leanne was friendly whilst being very efficient in her role.

The server (Sam) mode the experience all the more Emilie. Very personable. Smashing food and just a fantastic time. We will be returning!

Visited here late one evening last week, I had the smothered chicken and it was delicious. Presentation was spot on just the rite amount of bbq sauce and the cheese was grilled to perfection as was the chicken breast. Cooked by Nat....she knows what she's doing :)

As a solo traveller, I was well-looked after by Lisa. She explained the Meal Deal offers to me and both nights gave me a table away from the rest of the restaurant for privacy. Her service was excellent and yet not intrusive. Her smile was friendly, not fake. A colleague to be proud of.

Came in for a spot of Sunday Dinner which said unlimited veg, roast spuds etc.. However the veg was basic (Carrots, peas Roast spuds Yorkshire pudding) Meat was cooked perfectly, but when asking for extra veg this did not turn up (asked couple times for this) Also if you wanted Cauliflower cheese and other sides, this was extra charge (Small portion) We also asked for unlimited soft drinks, but we had to goto the bar to get a refill as staff appeared to ignore the empty glasses on our table. The restaurant was not busy and table service was poor, so we where disappointed with this. Just think the staff need to be more proactive and the Sunday Lunch should have more vegetables to choose and be topped up if needed. Should not have to ask for extra veg when veg dish was empty and drinks glasses are empty too.

I have been at the Premier Inn next door for 7 months and would just like to say a big thank you to Jayne, for my morning breakfasts. Always enjoyable, top chef, thanks Jayne.

The man i cant remember his name maybe Richard? He was very friendly. The ladies weren't as much so but they were dealing with lota of complaints which i am assuming was affecting their mood. The restaurant was empty when we arrived but it took ages to seat us. The wait for food was 50 minutes. People were complaining and were being told they were short staffed. This wasn't explained on being seated and if wedve known we would've gone elsewhere. The food was okay but nothing to write home about. Portion sizes were on the small side Would not return

Stayed the week for a business trip. Felt the need to put a review on due to the fantastic service from Leanne in the restaurant. Each night she catered for our group amazingly and would 100% recommend staying. Not only for the food but to experience Leanne’s service👌 top notch. Thanks again Leanne

Leanne was brilliant, I asked to sample some hot sauce and she provided a sample which resulted in me purchasing a full sized bottle. Enjoyed the food and the service was fast even at peak times.

Leane is a legend. A real dear, bit over cheeky but tolarable. The ringed earings and sharp wit are to dye for. Keep up the good work flower!

Food was brilliant, great atmosphere and service, Leanne was amazing and took excellent care of our large group. Beers were flowing easily and she even got involved with the banter.

Thank you all for making my time at the Beefeater/Premier Inn so comfortable and pleasurable. Still there after 6 months with no end in sight yet, I couldn't have found a better place to stay. Front of house, Lisa, welcoming and a credit to everything you do. The team of waitresses are always pleasant and engaging. They provide an excellent dining experience and I would highly recommend visiting here primarily because of these ladies.

Two amazing ladies looked after us and nothing appeared to be too much trouble which is always endearing as we meet so many who make us feel as we are a burden. Well done Sam and Niki. I’m sure you must be fully appreciated 👏

Having stayed in plenty of Premier Inns around the country my wife and I thought it would be a nice treat for the children to stop and have lunch on our way home. How wrong was I. The service was awful. We sat and waited for 20mins for someone to take our order, and that was only because i had to call them over. We then had to wait nearly an hour for our food. I saw one table go, another couple sit down order, eat and leave and and couple sit down and start eating in the time we were waiting for food. It turned up just as we were about to leave. I wish we had. The fish (and chips) was disgusting. We've never had soggy chew batter coating a tasteless dry fish. My rib and chicken combo wasn't much better. The ribs on the ends and sides were burnt to a cinder. The waitress stayed well clear of us. When i came to pay she didn't dare ask if everything was ok. I can safely say i would never set foot in the place again

Went in on a Tuesday for some lunch and pleasantly surprised. Normal every day menu plus a special lunch menu which had a great choice of starters, mains and desserts all for £11.99 for 2 courses which suited our needs. We had our starters and then both had a 8oz rump steak with voice of fries or chips plus vegetables. Cooked to perfection and great service from the staff. Highly recommend

I looked thoroughly on the Internet and could not find what time they stopped serving food, I arrived about 10 to ten, I asked about food at the bar and was then asked where I was sitting, which I later found out made no sense because there were no table numbers. Then I was told I had five minutes to order, something I find dubious as they tend to stop serving food at ten thirty, then mid conversation the staff member who was serving me just walked off to not do a lot as far as I could see, kind of doing some light cleaning despite it being an hour until closing. Consequently I was then rushed into ordering without looking at the menu, I was paying with premier Inn meal deal, I was not even told by staff that it included a starter or desert, when I questioned it staff was unwilling to ring it through for me. When food arrived burger was OK, chips were pretty soggy and disappointing, sad to think tourists might eat those chips. Also I sat at a table waiting for my food a member of staff came over to tell me where the cutlery etc was, the table was covered in crisps and he didn't even wipe the table down. I have to say I am shocked by how unprofessional and poor the service was.

Maybe it was just an off day given the reviews but my experience was very disappointing. Wednesday night, so not that busy. Waited a long time for food that when arrived was cold to luke warm. Medium rare steak was well done, gristly and cold. Food came with no cutlery. Worked out where to get from (no forks) asked at the bar and some disinterested kid sloped off to get some. To be honest it couldn't have been worse if they'd tried. The saving grace is that it wasn't my money. If it was I wouldn't have paid.

Leanne was an energetic, enthusiastic and a prompt server, providing us drinks almost instantly and leaving no stone unturned to ensure we had everything we need.

The food was amazing! Best beefeater I have been to, Leanne our waitress was on the ball soon as we entered the restaurant very happy made us laugh out socks off lol! She is a credit to the beefeater team!

Possibly the worst fish and chips I've ever had, skin on fish, hard curled up ends, dry and chewy, not pleasant at all, under cooked chips followed by a microwaved apple pie (pastry soft, filling hotter then hell) better then the brownie my friend got that needed a sledge hammer to eat! The only good thing about this place is Leanne, can't do enough for her customers, stark contrast to the guy on the front desk who looked like he hated life. Definitely would not recommend.
