Beech Mount Hotel & Arthurs Restaurant in Liverpool

My experience with this hotel was quite disappointing. There were only stairs, which made it inconvenient while carrying my luggage. I didn’t even stay the night due to other commitments — I just had breakfast and left early, well before the checkout time. I didn’t use anything in the room. They promised to refund my deposit within 10 days, but it has now been 14 days and I still haven’t received anything. This lack of follow-through is unprofessional and honestly frustrating. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The room was decent for the price—clean enough overall, though there was dust in areas. The bed, shower, and toilet were all fine and worked as expected. I couldn’t open the window, but not a major issue. Breakfast had plenty of options. Parked my car on the hotel car park and had no issues.. For the cost, it’s good value.

Stayed at here for 2 nights for Liverpool Comic Con from 2nd-4th May 2025. It was a very convenient location to get the city center. Very easy to get an uber or bus. The parking was free and lots of spaces. The rooms were very clean with friendly staff. We asked for a ground floor superior room. Which was quickly given without any problems or delays. We did have the breakfast. The breakfast was given with no hot food and was only continental. It was okay, was not the greatest. The rooms were very dark though. Shower was took ages to heat up and was low pressure. It was a great item for a short stay period.

Clean rooms friendly staff and wow the continental breakfast is amazing definitely be staying again when we are next in Liverpool they put the H in hospitality everything you need

very shabby hotel, no carpets in most communal areas or our room. Lots of peeling wallpaper and other decorating defects. Shelves in our room weren't properly dusted. Dressing table had repair brackets that weren't properly attached and presented a hazard. insufficient sockets in the room, you had to plug the kettle in above the bed. Very uncomfortable bed that disturbed one person when the other moved. Disorganised car park with no marked spaces. Poor quality buffet breakfast with no hot options (we skipped breakfast and found somewhere else on the second day). It's also in a really seedy area. Shower almost unusable.

Stayed overnight for the match, Liverpool v Everton. Friendly staff, even if they were a blue. 40 minutes walk from stadium, plenty of parking if you get there early. Very nice experience.

Room 73. Very very basic, and not the cleanest of hotels. Room felt quite claustrophobic, and the lighting being so dim didn't help. Shower door is also broken in that room, coming off the hinges so you have to be careful when you close the door. Husband and I didn't spend much time in the room because it wasn't inviting. But it's good enough if you just need somewhere for a kip. The Beer Garden looks decent - provides a nice view during breakfast. But don't expect too much for breakfast, it's just high carbs, very basic continental. No hot options provided. I wouldn't say it's a top end of a 3 star hotel. But not super shocking either. Area was quite close to a number of amenities which was good.

Beware of this hotel! I booked it through Booking.com, and it was my first bad experience. Even though I booked through bockig.com, they still want a deposit and keep it for three days. In my opinion, it's a scam. It's also dirty and run-down.

You can't be overweight or have big breasts because then you won't get in the shower. This is room 18 the rest I don't know

Friendly staff, nice location in a calm neighbourbood. 40 minutes walk to both city centre and Anfield Road. The breakfast was modest but okay. Dining room was really cold though. Room was clean, but quite old. It has teaditional English feeling.

Very loud, so you can hear all the neighbors and what they are doing. The shower door fell off when you were going to close it, the grout on the tiles fell off, so there must be water damage behind the tiles. Needs a renovation. In the 3 nights we were there, we didn't have a visit from the cleaners or get new towels. The breakfast room was so cold it was impossible to sit there. Even the waiter had a hat and scarf on. 😂😂 We won't be coming here again. There is a lot of lack of knowledge in running this hotel. Disappointing.

The staff were very polite, helpful, professional and gave good advice about local amenities. The room was clean,tidy, warm and as described with good TV, hot drink making facilities and en suite shower room. No problems parking. Continental breakfast included.

The hotel is a bit shabby and in need of some thorough maintenance. However the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and kind. They made up for most of the downfalls of the place.

Lovely owners of the hotel and outstanding value for money. The hotel has been done out very well with a bar, pool table room, and free breakfast included in the morning. The rooms are well done out with comfy beds. This hotel demonstrates excellent value for money and is only about a 30 minute walk from Anfield.

Absolutely worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The room smelt of damp the widow didn't open dirty shower with only 6 holes for the water to come out of in the shower head.. We only stayed one night.. Thank god...

Old style English Victorian type hotel. Located outside the center but served by bus, if you want to go to the center on foot it takes 40 minutes. The single rooms are small but equipped with all comforts. Very kind reception staff. It has a dining room for breakfasts and a room for reading and billiards. Disabled access but not access to rooms. Free parking in front of the hotel

Room 13, house was very cold as no heating . We were supplied with a electric heater the next day . The shower and room were mouldy by the end of our visit. I spoke with the duty manager as we were leaving to tell her what we woke up too. Water running off the outside wall and mould behind the wardrobe. Other member staff on the front desk told us the heating was on a timer and came on twice a day . We were informed the boiler was broken that's why there was no heating but she managed to get it working. It came on when we were leaving. Brilliant location and staff very friendly . Breakfast was continental but no meats or cheese , meats and cheese only gets put out at the weekend why ? We had no fresh milk for breakfast on our last day and no one thought to get a supply in. We purchased milk ourselves to use for tea and coffee, so we used our own from our flask. They need a microwave in the breakfast room to warm up the croissants . The duty manager was very apologetic but the shop down the high street doesn't open till 9 am , otherwise she would of purchased some on her way to work. Other guests were boiling in the the joining houses as they all have separate boilers we were informed .One couple were moved out from our part of the house as the bed was broken. How come this was missed by the house keeping staff. The owners need to over haul the building and fix things asp . Your duty manager was. passing on our complaints but we haven't received a email or phone call.

Clean room, bathrooms could do with checking properly. Continental breakfast lovely, don't stay if you are a big fry up fan

Nice traditional hotel, comfortable reception areas, continental breakfast with good selections, well stocked bar. Warm shower, comfy bed. Good shops nearby and £8ish taxi to Liverpool centre

Evitati acest hotel . Avoid this hotel, it sucks, they take your guarantee and won't give it back, the breakfast is terrible, you don't have anything to eat and there's no one to ask for anything in the morning, they all stay hidden until you leave.

2nd stay here for a football match trip, cheap, clean and comfortable. Walking distance to ground, plenty of takeaways nearby

NOT RECOMMENDABLE! When you check in, apart from charging you the cost of the hotel, they charge you £50 as a guarantee and say that they will return it to you after a week, when they verify that you have left everything in order (as if they do not verify it on the same day as you're gone, or at the latest the next day); It took me two weeks and a day until I had it returned to my account and I wrote to them several times and I had to get angry with them to get it back... The conditions in general were quite bad, everything old, washed with two different taps for hot and cold water and quite separated, they did not have a hair dryer (although I asked for it the next day and they let me have it), the shower screen did not close properly and water came out when we showered, it was left quite open . The shower head fell down, it didn't stay fixed (you just had to tighten the screw) and it was almost impossible to shower like that. I told them and they fixed it the next day. There was very little water pressure in the shower, compared to the water in the sink (they didn't fix this and we had a very bad time with the shower).

Stayed for two nights can't fault anything nice clean tidy room nice breakfast selection and staff very helpful

Staff very friendly and helpful -like giving us info on where to get bus into city centre etc. Room spotless. Breakfast was continental which suited us. And free parking. Reception rooms are quaint.

Rooms were adequate no hanging space and drawers were dusty & had a musty smell. We’re lead to believe it’s walking distance to anfield. Sadly it’s over 50 minutes & very dark busy roads. Car park very small & over crowded.

Hotel is located in quite a rough area. There were a lot of people drunk/high and a fair few who shouted at us when we arrived. The hotel itself is very basic, the room was fairly dusty and cramped and definitely would not say it's suitable for a family trip. We decided to leave after 1 night as the walls are very thin, loud floor boards and just fairly anti social if you're looking for a genuine nights sleep.

Very dated hotel and rooms. Paper thin walls, you can clearly hear the conversation from next room, people walking and closing doors, not great. Shower absolutely tiny and very weak, barely any water coming out. Staff at the reception helpful. Very poor breakfast, just bread and jam, cereals and some fruit. Also £50 deposit to be paid on checkin which I never experienced before. Bed ok also lots of parking by the hotel or on the street. You would be better off with some Travelodge, definitely won't be staying again.

Sorry to the nice girl on reception but you were the only good thing about this hotel . The £50 upfront damage insurance should have set alarm bells ringing . .. however there was little we could have done to the room to make it worse . Peeling wallpaper , dirty floor and skirting , cracked sink , rusty radiator, chipped furniture and TV not working . Having checked that the skimpy bedding was clean .. I was still unsurprised to be bitten while sleeping . I believe the mattress has bed bugs and will forward photos of the sheets in the morning if needs be . (Having showered before bed I’m sure the black specks on the sheets weren’t from me ) this wasn’t the cheapest of the hotels on offer but we went for character … we certainly got that , not quite the character we expected ! Never again

First room had a broken electrical socket which should've of been pick up before letting us stay in the room, they did give us a little better room. Hotel and rooms needs updating, would of expected better choice of breakfast. Shower wasn't very hot. Also to be aware of the £50 damage deposit which is in the small print, which I have never paid at other hotels. I think it's a con as the rooms have wallpaper coming off, curtains not hanging right and can't close curtains, one pillow and no spare. I could go on and on. I had to take pictures so they dont acuse us of the poor maintenance of their rooms. They like their mirrors and pictures not being straight. I used the toilets downstairs by reception, I was shocked there was a Towel for.everyone to share to dry their hands on, which fails the infection controls policy on hand washing, please be aware that's how infections can spread, such as, covid-19 for this reason I would not return

Room was clean but was surprised with a £50 holding deposit which I wasn’t aware of that I was told would b back in my bank in 2-3days been a week and still waiting apparently can take up to 31days to be returned.wouldn’t return because of that tbf

Beware of this hotel. Shower only accommodates midgets; shower is barely warm, main desk staff have poor English & there is an additional £50 pre-authorisation deposit that takes up to 10 days to be released. It’s in the small print. And if it’s not released, you then have to contact the bank.

Good location. Free parking. Good sized room. Clean. Weak breakfast not worth going.

No hair dryer. Soap instead of shampoo. The doors to the rooms are of suspicious security. You can hear all the neighbors. Overpriced. Breakfast is minimal and only until 8.50.

Anyone who has ever been to England knows that the standard is lower than German hotels. But nonetheless, the hotel looks classic from the inside and something needs to be done from the outside. Stay is worth it. Shops can be reached within 100 meters.

We stayed here for one night this past week, nothing positive I can take from it and I won't be back. I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for but this was still below standards. Upon arrival even though we were within checking in times we were told we had to wait in a room with our bags until someone came to get us. By then many other guest's arrived to check in and no body knew who arrived when and who was to check in first. Entered our room, and the only thing that was clean was the bed. The bathroom was in a state. The showers are so small you can barely get in and out, on top of that at check in we had to pay a deposit of £50 for a fee if we leave anything damaged. However when I entered the room the shower door was broken and didn't close on one side so why should we pay extra deposits when things aren't fixed when broken. So much more I could say but overall a poor experience and will not be staying again.

The room was fine but, I expected more for the money, the service was great as the staff made up for what the room lacked. The location is excellent as I was travelling for work.

Hotel average. Parking isn’t great. The deposit you pay £50 for any damages caused etc .. fine. But then you get told the deposit will return after a couple of days which is a lie. Using a Visa or Amex card then it’s 10 working days and if you use a Mastercard then it’s up to 30 days. This is all fine but don’t lie to customers faces.

I liked the hotel in general. Price quality. The location is 15 minutes by bus from the center. Quite a quiet area of ​​the city. Everything you need is nearby. Reasonable price. A tasty, albeit monotonous breakfast. Friendly staff. The rooms are clean and tidy. Everything that is needed is there. The radiator was turned off, it had to be turned off because it was too hot. But there is a moment, the walls are quite thin, you can quite clearly hear the TV in the next room, or loud neighbors in the corridor. And the air in the room is quite heavy when the window is closed.

a great stay with tidy rooms, free breakfast which was lovley great location and helpful staff there with my Mom and Dad to visit the cavern club gave them a ground floor room which was great will return many thanks to them as a great long weekend

Hotel was pleasant enough. Staff are very nice. Car parking is on site and handy. Continental breakfast is pleasant. Close enough to city centre and football grounds.

As a was there for work it was ideal.

A perfectly adequate budget hotel. They staff were all incredibly welcoming and helpful. The hallways and facade are certainly rather dated. But my room - while certainly not very modern - was perfectly clean and tidy. All and all, if you want a boutique hotel or luxury you will disappointed, but you probably couldn’t ask for more if you are wanting a room at this price point.

On arrival my partner didn't like the room. After him complaining and originally being told they were fully occupied, we were given a much nicer room. Breakfast was lovely too. Cannot understand peoples complaints about this as there was plenty of choice. Even though it wasn't a cooked English breakfast we enjoyed it! Would stay again.

Stayed here on Wednesday 27th. September in room 88 . On reading reviews before going , I was expecting to enter an house of horrors. To my surprise it was just the opposite. Reception staff very polite and welcoming. Room was clean and perfectly acceptable for the price I paid, but as the building was built in 1800's is in need of some basic paint and wallpaper maintenance, which the lovely Spanish speaking owner accepts after I informed her. Love the soft closure toilet seat and although shower cubicle is on small size it's impossible to make rooms bigger. Breakfast has a huge variety to pick from, unlike continental breakfast abroad. Only negative is area , which owner can do little about. All in all I wouldn't hesitate on returning, with such good value for money

We stayed here for a long weekend 3 nights this weekend gone and my god was this disappointing😭. The rooms looked nothing like the photos with the shower curtain all brown at the bottom and clearly the room not being cleaned properly as we found previous people who stayed items such as baby wipes under the sofa 🤮. On the Friday night the neighbours were kicking doors and screaming swearing waking us up at 1am. After having minimal sleep we went over for breakfast and spoke to the man on reception and explained the situation and asked to be moved rooms. His reply was oh it's ok we do regular checks and will do more checks tonight so this doesn't happen again. Didn't even offer anything more and seemed unbothered. The next night which was the last night the same people who were smoking out the front window in full view of everyone were at it again. Banging about at 4am until 5am funny thing is I was awake for ages and heard no staff attending so what was about regular checks? It's ok with holding £50 deposit for damages you should give us some sort of compensation for no sleep. Especially as I had raised my concerns with staff and no resolution. This has to be one of the worst hotels I have stayed in and will not be staying again. I told the lady about the disappointment as I walked out and left. This hotel is ok to stay if you want boarding house/ YMCA standard

Very nice staff. Mattress was very uncomfortable, resulting in minimal sleep. Continental breakfast was ok.

Had a great time at this hotel. Would definitely stay here again although there was a staff shortage over our two days which meant no service in the bar whilst people were checking in and as it was Eurovision weekend it was busy at check in

Dated hotel out side liverpool continental breakfast Cheep & cherfull

The most disgusting place that I stayed during a week of work. Avoid them at maximum cost. Mould all over the bathroom, unclean apartment, health and safety protocols not followed, key of access not functioning properly and I was forced to have an earlier check out where the staff didn’t were present. Weed smokers on the premises which caused me a distress, on short lowest services provided for a considerable amount of money paid during the Eurovision festivities.

Well not much to.say the rooms are nothing like the photos. The beds are clean but ever where else is dirty tap loose in bathroom showerdoor hanging off dust all over floors dirty. We didn't go to our room till about 10.30 on the night was told someone will be on reception couldn't find anyone for at least 30 min.also breakfast very disappointing not much to pick from just very basic continental. Definitely wouldn't stay again.

Hôtel économique, bien desservi par les transports, l'arrêt de bus est proche. Nombreux bus. Le trajet vers le centre ville est rapide : 20 mn environ. La ligne de bus n°10A est la plus pratique -Arrêt Romer Road Chambre agréable, propre, les fenêtres par contre ne sont pas insonorisées ce qui fait qu'on entend le bruit des voitures. Cela peut être gênant. Moi cela ne m'a pas empêcher de dormir. L'hôtel était calme, les clients calmes et respectueux. Pas mal de commerces et fast-food, Lidl, à côté de l'hôtel, ce qui est très pratique pour s'acheter de quoi manger. Staff professionnel et friendly 😊👍 Points négatifs le petit déjeuner, c'est le minimum syndical... On voit que le Brexit, le COVID et la crise énergétique sont passés par là... 😐☹️

Parfait ! Nous cherchions un hôtel pour séjourner quelques nuits, impossible de trouver des prix abordables jusqu'à ce que je tombe sur le beech mount. 15 min du centre de Liverpool (10€ de taxi environ) franchement tout est parfait pour le prix. Étant PMR, même l'accessibilité de la chambre est nickel, mis à part la sdb où il faut se débrouiller.

The rooms and clean with comfy beds. The staff are friendly and helpful, however the breakfast was quite honestly, terrible.

I was very disappointed going here. Tracy the receptionist could not hide the fact that she was racist. She came up with all sorts of non existent polices even 3-5 stars rated hotels wouldn’t ask for. She was unnecessarily difficult and refused to give us a room. Tom saved the day. The heater did not work and the manual heater brought into the room worked for only few minutes and all attempts to get someone to replace it didn’t work. At 7.30am breakfast wasn’t ready because the supposed cook was yet to resume for work! May I add that the website and other booking sites said £50/night but we were told £60 until we called them out on this. Would definitely not be recommending this place to anyone!

Clean, but other visitors were incredibly loud until 4am, causing us to struggle with sleeping. The staff were nice and friendly, however.

Room was basic but clean and had everything we needed for a night. Breakfast very basic, not a lot of choice. Wouldn't want to stay there for more than a night though, walls were very thin and could hear everything going on in the hotel including person in room next to us having a wee! Also had drunk couple have a raging argument in middle of the night for hours. Not hotels fault but they didn't seem to do anything about the noise/disruption. Did not sleep well that night!

The room was not cleaned properly, no vacuuming. The rug and floor were dusty and dirty. I have found hair on the toilet floor too. The closet door was loose and nearly fell on my foot. The toilet sink is so small you can't even lean on it and the glass shelf is on your way.... The internet is too slow and the signal in the room was poor unless you would get close to the entrance door. Shower water pressure was very low, too low... I have advised the reception which took care of the closet doors and they tried to clean the floor with a vacuum cleaner that was stuffed l of dirt and left most of the dirt on the ground. The only positive side has been the receptionist from Gran Canaria (my apologies for not remembering her name) which was the only one being proactive trying to vacuum, but with a toy vacuum, and fixing the closet doors.

Upon arrival the room was stone cold with no means of heating, the walls looked as though they had been slashed with a knife and very unsatisfactory. Our chief complaint was with regards to the breakfast. We were under the impression it would be a cooked breakfast but there was minimal to offer, with small amounts of cereal, yoghurt, fruit, cheese & meat. Being the first guests down anyone would have assumed we were the last with the lack of food and no staff service around. There was a health hazard with mould on the bread and around the base of the bread bin with a pungent smell. It made me feel sick knowing that I had just eaten some thinking it was edible until I took more notice on my second round of toast. We were not the only guests that noticed this. We are extremely disgusted spending all that money for substandard service.

Welcoming and clean. The breakfasts are help yourself and plentyful but I would have preferred a cooked breakfast.

Arrived early but room was ready ,on top floor no lift so many stairs ,room and bath room were clean , but bathroom so small couldn't dry yourself in there after a shower , continental breakfast ,coffee machine didn't work ,but porter and nite porter very friendly. Think they should put a new photo of the hotel on there site ,would book in liverpool city center nxt time .

Any one going to stay at this hotel find a different one is was worse hotel I have ever dealt with go elsewhere if want enjoy your time I liverpool.

Lovely hotel, don't let the outside put you off. Inside if nice a clean .. rooms were nice too. However the area its in isn't so nice

Dichtbij goodison park. Wij hadden een schone kamer. Ontbijtje kon wat uitgebreider. Maar een perfecte plek voor een citytrip. Met de bus 27 ben je zo in het centrum

Very small car park, we had to park the car along the street by the hotel instead. TV didn't work. Very weak water pressure in the shower, luckily I washed my hair before coming because I wouldn't be able to do it in here. About 13min drive from the city centre, the uber costed us about £9.50 each way. The bed was clean and comfortable.

Great. 5 mins on bus to St Jamess

We stayed 1 night, and the room on the top floor was clean and comfortable. Excellent staff, particularly Virginia who greeted us on reception and was very friendly and helpful. A continental breakfast was provided in the morning which was great, even with the coffee machine being a bit temperamental! Free parking in front (if you arrive early enough) and more on the road outside. (No restrictions at time of writing). Would recommend, and certainly stay again. Thanks.

As a base for attending Football matches or Concerts at Liverpool's Anfield Stadium its ideally located just 2 miles from Anfield. Parking on site is very limited (1st come...1st serve) however ample on-street parking was available outside the Hotel. There were numerous local High St Shops 2min walk away. The Hotel is clean, with friendly staff on reception and in the Bar, with well appointed rooms having in-room tea & coffee making facilities, a Continental Breakfast was included in the price.

The staff the room the bar staff brilliant!! Will definitely be staying there again👍 Location a Mac Donald and Aldi two minutes away!👍

We enjoyed our overnight stay, helpful staff, a complimentary breakfast in the morning. A big hotel, will recommend it to everyone.

Das Hotel liegt sehr verkehrsgünstig: mehrere Buslinien in unmittelbarer Nähe des Hotels (3 Minuten zu Fuß) verbinden den Standort mit dem City-Center, dem Hafen, der Anfield Road und somit dem Stadion von Liverpool FC oder den Bahnhöfen von Liverpool. Gleichzeitig gibt es mehrere Lebensmittelgeschäfte in der unmittelbaren Nähe. Für einen Kurz-Trip nach Liverpool: sehr empfehlenswert.

A few major issues keep my rating very low, but without helpful and friendly staff it would have been lower. Continental breakfast was quite decent, coffee machine broken. Nice lounge and billiard room. But, room key cards were unreliable, giving us serious room access issues. Room was mostly clean, but the shower was clogged, which is unacceptable. TV was a bit iffy. No one at reception when we checked out. It must have been a busy weekend in Liverpool as we were paying peak prices ~£95 per night, not such good value. It’s a nice looking building, in a fairly convenient if somewhat rundown area.

I would like to thank Beech Mount for their amazing service in dealing with our cancellation. The way they have dealt with our concerns are a credit to the organization and I would certainly recomend them to anyone Unfortunately due to our illness we are sad we could not enjoy their service in person but I cannot begin to tell you how helpful they have been to us We will not hesitate to stay with them next time we go to Liverpool infact I would not stay anywhere else Kind Regards Mrs April Alcott

Had the best nights on my holiday. It's in a very good location as the number 10 bus takes you to the city. There is a McDonald's and lisl near by. Breakfast was good, the staff were amazing helped me with every problem I had. Highly recommend.

Sub par. You're better off spending a little more for a better location, what you save you spend on Ubers... Room was small with a tiny bedroom. Shower is underpowered and cramped. Check-in was odd, the guy came back to my room to get some documents signed. Breakfast not served during the week. Bed was comfortable, but flood lights outside mean very little sleep can be had A little dirty and shabby.

I can't rate the staff at the hotel enough, we had a large group, turned up super early, checked in super late, but nothing was too much trouble. Let us get changed, took group pics and just always said yes with a smile. Someone even carried my bags to my room which was the other end of the carpark. This was one of the best experiences i've had, we will definitely stay again next year.
