Visited for Sunday lunch after a trip to the Bevan Stones. Very short menu but our waitress was knowledgeable and helpful. Me and my wife chose the beef and it was excellent. Two very large slices of good quality beef, cooked perfectly. Came with a huge Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, peas, broccoli and gravy to die for. We didn’t have starters but the puddings were very good and two courses were more than enough. Altogether excellent!

Went to Tredegar to research the old ironworks and see Bedwellty house so popped in to the Orchard tea room for lunch. What a lovely little place! There was plenty of light bites to chose from and we chose the chicken curry and chips which was delicious and well worth £6.99. My husband enjoyed the hot minestrone soup and roll for £3.50. The room was light, clean and pleasant with fresh flowers on all the tables. I am sure in the summer with the door open and the outside tables for sitting it would be really nice. Must say the say the two ladies working there were lovely, helpful and friendly. Would love to go regularly but it’s a bit far to go from Cardiff!

Visited Bedwellty House in Tredegar on a Saturday afternoon. It was extremely busy with a wedding and large hen party group having afternoon tea. We had lunch in the Orchid house tea room overlooking the park. The menu was limited that day due to the wedding. However, what we had to eat was lovely and well presented. Some of our group finished off with jam and cream scones. The coffee was very nice. The service was excellent. We were very impressed and look forward to returning soon. A lovely afternoon.

Came here twice during my brief stay in Tredegar for tea & snacks each time. The staff are excellent, the service fast & efficient. They had a selection of cakes including a special offer cake each time we went custard slices the first time & black forest gateaux the second both of which we tried & were delicious. There was a small food & crafts market on Sunday afternoon of which we bought plenty so the cafe opened an outdoor service area doing hot snacks of burgers, hot dogs etc. Along with ice creams & cold drinks as well. There was also an art exhibition & the park itself is lovely to walk around on a nice day sunny day.

I would give the afternoon tea 7/10. Plenty of cakes including a scones, jam and cream. Could have done with one or two more savories. Had to keep asking for refills of tea and coffee. No checks from the staff to see if everything was OK. However the staff were pleasant when approached. Lovely surroundings. Tables needed clearing a bit more quickly.

There were a few things that made this experience very disappointing. Firstly, the service is poor. Very poor. Despite booking a vegetarian afternoon tea, a regular tea was brought out and then we had to wait for the correct (pre ordered) tea to be brought out. One member of the party doesn't like afternoon tea so when we prebooked the vegetarian afternoon tea we asked if he could have something different and ordered him sausage and mash. When it was brought out it was disgusting. It was luke warm and the gravy in the gravy boat had been left to stand for so long it was one big glutinous lump. It was sent back. The replacement was warm at least but the mash potato was dry and the sausages were tiny cocktail sausages. We went to the serving counter and ordered a glass of water, a fanta and a hot chocolate which then took 40 minutes to come. The hot chocolate had no cream or marshmallows despite them being ordered. The hot chocolate wasn't returned as it would have taken another 40 minutes to rectify the problem. The rest of the food was just ok. Not awful but nothing to write home about.

Attended a wedding reception here yesterday. It was amazing. The grounds are second to none and fabulous for photos. The food and service were excellent. The room was beautifully decorated and it is a bonus to have the outside covered area too which was lit up at night. Just a small gripe would be the limited amount of parking inside the park but nevertheless there are public car parks at both ends of the park. It would be great if they also offered accommodation within the park as an added bonus for the future.

This is a lovely park intelligently managed and the flowers all seasons are lovely x also woodland animals include nuthatch bullfinches, squirrels, robins, frogs toads, wrens and of course ducks. The house looks appealing within the grounds and the tea rooms are supposed to be lovely also although in lockdown closed for now.

I greatly looked forward to this having booked well in advance but came away a bit disappointed. The sample soup was really nice and well seasoned, as was the staff member that served us. There were far too many very very rich items and not enough sandwich fingers. Not a lot of the sweet items seemed to be homemade, which was a shame. We waited forever for the scones and then had to go and ask for them and more tea, and they weren't very fresh after all that. We didn't eat the mince pies or the cupcakes as they didn't look that appetising. The actual tearoom was really nice and inviting but next year we will go somewhere else.

A lovely place been before but disappointed yesterday. There was too much going on there Sunday lunch, teas a christening also doing burgers outside. This resulted in us feeling rushed. Our soup was boiling nearly burnt my mouth. Lunch was ok but not hot enough and had to wait ages for dessert. . I just think they had too much going on there with the result Sunday lunch wasn't as good as usual.

We visited here today and was very disappointed , the ponds were covered in algi and on top of that cans and plastic cups. This is not good for the wildlife, it should be removed and cleaned to encourage ducks and other birds to use and be able to breed. Its such a shame and such an eyesore. We won't visit again until it's been cleaned, makes you wonder where all the millions were spent on over there, the fountain had seen better days as well.

I readily accepted the invite to the special afternoon tea, having been before and enjoyed it. On arrival we were each given a ticket, before being shown upstairs by a waitress dressed as a Hogwarts pupil - great start. A full size cut out of Hagrid greeted us at the top of the stairs, with Severus Snape just around the corner directing us to the "Great Hall". The tables were decorated with Daily Prophet tables cloths, with menus printed to resemble the Marauders Map - absolutely brilliant! The lights were hung with "floating candles" - such attention to detail. The food was all Harry Potter themed, starting with pumpkin soup, and there's even a golden snitch to finish. absolutely wonderful! Well done Bedwellty House.

My friend and I took our girls along for afternoon tea here on the weekend as they do a special 'children's afternoon tea' as well. Children's tea consisted of sandwiches, crisps, mini pizza, fruit kebabs, mini sausages, jelly and a whole range of yummy cakes. They also got a little champagne glass filled with smarties and a fairy cake when we were served our scones. Adults tea was also very good with the usually savoury and sweet treats. Very enjoyable, kids loved pretending they were princesses with their champagne (lemonade in champagne glass!) Staff were also very friendly and reasonably priced. £9 children and £14 adult.

To celebrate our Ruby Wedding we decided to have Sunday lunch at Bedwellty House. We had never eaten there before but 6 adults and 3 children had a lovely three course lunch. Between us we tried all 4 starters and everyone was pleased with the food on offer. The main courses were roast beef or chicken and both meats were cooked to perfection. The vegetables were varied and well cooked, some were from their own garden. We tried 4 of the 5 desserts on offer and these were again lovely. The coach house restaurant was full and booking In advance is advisable. The staff were young, local and very pleasant. Mine arrived and when another 45 minutes had passed and my friends had still not arrived I asked the waitress why to which she responded we have run out of chorizo can I get you something else . She then ordered the same as what I had which took a further 45 minutes to arrive . They did provide a free can of fanta but there was no offer or sorry for anything else . There was two weddings whilst we were there so it is understandable that things were busy however this isn't an unusual event and i feel they need to prepare better in for busy periods to ensure all customers have a good service not just some However the grounds are lovely to walk around and next time we will probably wait to do nice weather and take a picnic to have in the park . We organized a family birthday meal here for 14 people adults aswell as children. All meals were lovely except for the lamb burger it was awful very dry and not as expected. However given the fact it's suppose to be a family friendly pub/restaurant this was very much to our disappointment it attracts the rowdy loud youngsters who were screaming and shouting it wasn't a peaceful place where you could sit enjoy your meal and talk amongst your group every adult had a headache within 1 hour of being there. One of our family members was shouted at by a youngster and was offered outside because he stated whilst stood at the bar that it's loud and how it's supposed to be a family friendly environment. We definitely wouldn't recommend this place with children. Other than the lamb burger all other food was lovely a good selection of drinks but 100% not a family environment and definitely not a quiet environment if you wanted to enjoy your meal and talk amongst your group!
