I am so torn as I really like this place, love its coffee and products and visit it very often usually for coffee or food to go during the weekend or weekdays. I always find the lack of music disturbing but I recently visited the space to work as I thought that it would be a good place to sit and focus on my work but the ladies that work in this place are SOOOOOOOOO loud.. I have never seen anything like it. Even if I was with a friend I would not have been able to chat with them as the two ladies behind the counter were constantly chatting extreeeeemely loudly. Such a shame honestly this should be a place to sit down and relax but NOPE! Only coffee to go moving forward.

Great spot but lacks friendly staff. Even a little smile instead of a rude and blunt attitude. Such a shame as there is a lovely woman with blonde hair. The only one I’ve ever had a good exp with.

I’m kind of torn because I think the food and coffee is great. But I’ve been here 6 or 7 times and despite it being different serving staff each time they’ve almost always been unfriendly to indifferent, barking that the kitchen is closed, snatching away plates and cups before I’ve finished, unsmiling despite me being friendly. I really want that to improve as it’s the local cafe but I come away feeling meh so I shan’t return for the moment.

I love this place! The bacon roll with sriracha is excellent and their salted caramel brownie is heavenly. Can get really busy and packed with families (they have a play area for kids in the back), but that’s a small price to pay. The staff are also lovely and the coffee is great.

Coffee tastes like mud and still only takeaway. Can only pay by card and their excuse is Covid. Plenty of coffee houses nearby to welcome in customers and take cash.

The place is cute and the coffee is the best you can get on Fortess road. The food is nice, overall it's great but it was really loud because of the children room. The children room is a good idea for those who have children, there are toys the kids can play with, but happy children often scream with joy, or cry. It's understandable but it's not the place to go to relax with your cup of coffee :)

We came to the Bear and Wolf Cafe when we were staying in a holiday rental nearby. We'd walked by it a few times and thought the food in the window and menu looked great. The food is good. We had sandwiches and tea for lunch. However, and it may have just been time of day, but it was very crowded with parents with babies and young children and had the atmosphere of a baby-toddler playgroup. The seating is also very crowded. The service was fine, not great, but I could see that the staff were challenged by finding a way to move around in the small crowded space. I'd go back for take-away or perhaps check to see if another time of day was more relaxing.

The staff were rude. The toys were filthy. No baby gate on the playroom door and was told we couldn't shut the door even though the front door that led straight on to the main road was open - a hazard waiting to happen.

Do not recommend. Dropped in with some friends on a Saturday afternoon and sat in the back garden. Went to leave after our meal and found we had been locked outside. After phoning the cafe and banging loudly on the door a staff member came and unlocked the door and returned to the counter without any word to us - no apology or even any acknowledgement when unlocking the door or when we left moments later. No issue with the food but will not return and will deter others from visiting because of the sheer lack of care or interest shown.

Wonderful cafe with space. The food is wonderful, service great, love the baby seats that fit on the tables, the space to park the buggy and the playroom. BUT I would recommend that people supervise their children in the playroom, I would like the playroom and toys to look like they’d been cleaned in the last year and as the carer for a baby I had to have my eyes on him at all times as there were people balancing hot drinks on the play equipment, the door to the bathroom was open, there were glasses around the seating area, children were wandering around unsupervised with food and drink and the playroom was freezing as there was a window open in the toilet. That said I love the idea just needs a bit more organising!

Ok this place is near to where I drop my kids off to a playgroup so I thought me and my wifey (Who are celebrating her birthday weekend) we would try it from the outside it looks quite grotty in truth however once inside it's a lot better Sunday morning is incredibly busy I think everyone who lives in Tufnell Park who has children visits here On entering once you order you encounter2 long tables about 3 metres long and 1 shorter table about 1 1/2 metres long with a seated bench that follows the wall around the outside of the tables(there seems a mad dash for the benches once a person leaves)the style here is everyone kind of sits together but as the heavy emphasis is a place that encourages family's with kids you will probably be seated next to a 2yr old in a high chair like I'm doing right now kids are sitting on the tables crawling on the tables as I do this review FoodThe food here is very nice but certainly not cheap We had 2 bacon and avocado sandwiches with 2 coffees for £24 the sandwich had Harissa pepper and was very tasty for us it was a price we would prepare to pay at £24 But it was the ceiling limit you have to remember tho you are in Tufnell Park and the prices here reflect the location I feel Kids area cub room This is the area at the back of the cafe that is the area that's provided for family's in truth tho because adults prefer to congregate at the tables therefore you will find a lot of kids milling around the main cafe which is ok because with this cafe you know what your getting with the family orientated nature of the place Summary I think if you have kids you will always find in places like cafe rough ask pizza express....you may find that the experience will be very sterile Therefore you would love it hear !!!!!!you won't be telling the kids off to keep quiet because everybody in here is really noisy which in some ways is a lot of funBut if you're a couple or if you're not a student with a load of other student friends you will probably hate itAs you will struggle to hear yourself think you will be sitting next to 2-year-olds who are burping and vomiting or dirty nappies as they crawl across the table while you're eatingHowever I went here because it looks like a fun place it's really busy and in that respect that as a recommendation enough I guess if the food is rubbish nobody would come here and the food certainly is not rubbish It's delicious

I love B & W because of the reliable food. The Ultimate Halloumi sandwich is my favourite followed closely by Moroccan Eggs. Coffee is excellent too and they are very good at adapting meals if you ask. Yes it can get a bit hectic with buggies and parents but that was what the owner set out to offer and no doubt the families who use it are very grateful for a place where they are not treated like pariahs and can get a decent cup of coffee. Went there Friday with a friend, 1st time and looking forward to going back. There seems to be a place for all, I was there with my friend chatting away; there were men in suits having coffee, working in their laptops; there were moms and dads and prams. A place for all. Old good inclusion! Yet, it wasn't chaotic, it was serene, the owner (I think he is) and staff quite pleasant and the food absolutely yummy! My friend had the halloumi; I had an open sandwich with avocado, salmon and egg, divine! All beautifully presented and flavoursome. We also ordered juice, really, really good and had 2 servings of coffee, fresh, aromatic, perfect.

Great for families with little kids as there is a playroom/outdoor play area, kid friendly bathroom/changing station. We ordered the ultimate bacon breakfast roll, bacon open faced sandwich, poached eggs with bacon and buttermilk waffle with bananas and strawberries. Waffle was a bit hard and chewy for the kids as we prefer the crispy/fluffy waffles we eat in the US, but everything else was very tasty, fresh and flavorful. Would definitely eat there again.

Its a long time since I had to spit out food at the first mouthful, and reach for water to swill the taste away, but this cafe managed it.Culprit - "salted caramel slice" (ie, millionaire shortbread with added salt)It lived up to its billing. So much salt that any other flavours were swamped. So much salt it burned. More salty than a salt cod croquette. In short, inedible. An experience like this makes me doubt that anyone at the cafe is actually sampling the food they make/buy and sell.

A busy spot, clean fresh decor, good fresh food and thoughtfully made coffee. Fortess Road has come along amazingly with lots of great shops and restaurants in the last couple of years, giving the existing businesses a run for their money, which frankly is good news. Suddenly we've got good places like this to walk to, meet friends and have a decent coffee or freshly made juice. If you want to work quietly there's plenty of plugs pints but go early in the morning or later in the day to beat the yummy mummies and babies! Admittedly we do not have babies / toddlers any more. But those that do in NW5 must be desperate and teetotal as the food is distinctly average here and there's no alcohol licence. To be fair I've not sampled much of the menu and it looks at least edible, but this is café / brunch groovy style, snacky food only. The buggy park and play room take up as much space as the eatery itself and turn it into an indoor play park with parents splitting 5 minute shifts between eating and supervising the sprog. Not relaxing, nor for the noise. The older crusties might either be in laws or resting older actors wanting to get down with the kids. Service can be so laid back as to fall into space. Wait times for simple food are way too long after ordering at the till and coffee often comes tepid, although gets 8/10 for flavour. Possibly the worst bacon roll with a poached egg ever encountered. Burnt streaky bacon of supermarket packet quality and the egg yolk solid. Staff well-meaning but one-paced, with that hip distracted air as though the place exists for themselves, not the customers. It's all in their own time, not that of the clientele. Milibandovia deserves better.

I took my 17 month old son to Bear and Wolf this week. I e-mailed the cafe in advance as I had to travel a fair distance to get there and wanted to make sure that it would not be too busy (based on previous experience as opposed to any ability to see in the future!) The response was prompt and positive. The cafe was busy-ish when I arrived, but there was plenty for my son to do and the staff were very helpful from helping me secure the baby chair to the bar, to washing the large place mat I have for my son. This is a great place to take a child. I really do wonder why there are so few places like this (especially where I live in Barnet where there are so many children and so few soft play venues/nurseries). As was evident, a place like this is very popular, the food/drink was good and the service excellent.

Bear and Wolf is simply brilliant. It's a lovely cafe run by lovely people with lovely food and drinks. My baby always has a great time in the playroom at the back and he enjoys the cheese on toast and smoothies. I always have the poached eggs and smoked salmon followed by one of the delicious cakes. We love it!

I must say that went here for late breakfast and couldn't fault it. The poached eggs with streaky bacon on soda bread was excellent especially the accompanying salad which had a very tasty dressing. Normally a salad is left behind but this one was consumed eagerly by me and my wife. Highly recommend the berry smoothie as well. One thing I would say about this place is that it is a one of a kind for ladies looking for a place to have breakfast with their young children as there is a play area and a buggy parking space with play area in the back. All in all fully enjoyed the experience.

This is such an amazing idea for people with young children. The playroom at the back is filled with toys and books, perfect for children under 3 (a little less for slightly older children but still a lot more fun than an average cafe) which are all kept beautifully clean by the lovely staff. The coffee and food are distinctly "adult", which is great - since the kids are kept out of the way at the back it's also a great place to go without kids as they won't disturb you in the cafe at the front. I wish there were more of these cafes!

Shops around the Tufnell Park Tube Station have been changing in recent years with the addition of many speciality shops and now a decent cafe. Bear and Wolf is well needed to this area as it provides a fresh and funky alternative to the large chain cafe that it is near. The space it is in is large, open and welcoming (as well as their staff). The coffee here is fantastic! It's obvious that they take this seriously and compared to the competition its well priced. If you are looking for something that isn't on the board they have been eager to make it for you and its this type of service that set's it apart from its rivals. The menu is simple yet offers a good range for all tastes. I've been for a light lunch or a good breakfast and on all occasions the food has been fresh and tasty. The price of the meal is reasonable and the overall service was excellent.

I hadn’t been to this venue before, but had a good night. Good clientele in an intimate venue. The only downside is if you don’t have ice in your drinks, they don’t fill the glass, leaving a inch from the top. What cheapness. Never seen that before. I’d plan on going back, but hopefully this nonsense will stopped being practiced.

I have visited this coffee shop multiple times and it is just great. The coffee served there is the best you can get in the area!

I attended this coffee shop today and bought an oat cappuccino to take away. On past occasions my cappuccino has split all over my hand so I asked the lady who serves the coffee if she could put cling film over the cup to prevent spillage. She become irritated and snapped. I asked her for a cup holder and she again did not listen and put another cup on top. Subsequently when I reached home the coffee was spilled. I shall not be using the coffee shop again. Very rude lady.
