Really enjoyed some lovely tapas on a great value Groupon deal. Could not fault the food or the service on a quiet Wednesday and even the house wine was very drinkable! Decor could do with a lick of paint but that's a very minor quibble.

We were out to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, using the Groupon deal for 10 tapas dishes for £20 with a glass of sangria. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, bringing our drinks and food promptly. The food itself was great. Whilst we didn't get to choose the dishes, we got a wide selection of tapas - all really well cooked. The garlic sauce with the prawns was particularly tasty. Can't fault any of it. All in all, a fantastic experience! We are already planning to use the same Groupon deal again.

I was given a groupon vouher from family to be a treat for my wife and I for sangria and tapas for two ten tapas dishes to the value of £55. Wow I love tapas. We arrived at the Beachview had a little difficulty finding the entrance the place was empty as we looked through the window. Tables were bare except for a paper napkin wrapped around the cutlery and a grubby salt and pepper pot. We found the entrance in preston street and entered the empty place a man was on his laptop and we told him we had a groupon reservation. The debit card machine was not working and there were signs saying cash only. We led to a table in the empty restaurant at 7.30 and sat down the man did not offer to take coats etc and put them on chairs. No menu was offered he mumbled the tapas are set you will get them soon and came back with two small glasses of a purple liquid with miniscule bits of apple floating on top sangria he said and plonked them on the table. Which was still bare no table cloth just bare grubby wood. No offer of water or if we wanted wine or beer. The tapas arrived Dish 1 four slices of a small french stick with the smallest pot of aioli i have seen.Dish 2 six prawns with tails that were obviously frozen and cooked to death that were chewy and tough floating in grease with a raw bits of garlic in it.Dish 3 some chopped mushrooms floating in a oily mess with raw garlic.Dish 4 russian salad which was bought in resembled congealed vomit.Dish 5 deep fried calimari which was inedible chewy vileDish 6 chunks of tough chicken which had been cooked a couple of times with the same oily gloop.Dish 7 the tortilla vile it was inedible looked like it had been cooked a couple of days before and reheated a few times rubbery foul.Dish 7 Potatas brava the potatoes had been cooked at least a few times before we had them they were black spongy yuk covered with a gloop of oil and chilli .Dish 8 chorizo cooked in wine no sign of wine just chorizos in gloop but the chorizos were edible Dish 10meatballs in wine a tomato sauce three large meatballs in gloop for two i tried one it was bland awful no flavour mushy yuk.Service was non existant not welcoming tables bare wood grubby .PLEASE FELLOW TRIP READERS DONT EAT THERE IF YOU HAVE A GROUPON GET A CREDIT BEFORE USING IT.

Staff friendly, Sunday Groupon meal, the nut roast portion was huge, came without gravy but it was supplied when I asked. Problem was meal was hardly warm. When we ordered tea/coffee the small milk jug was really grotty looking inside, all stained, brought it to the attention of the manager who said 'it is not dirty it is stained' It should have been cleaned better than it was. also I am disabled and could not access the toilet which was down about 15 steep stairs. I asked if they had a disabled toilet or one on the level of the dining room and they said no. This is certainly not good and will stop us visiting again.

Went here on Saturday night with a group for a friend's birthday. The restaurant doesn't look amazing from the outside but inside it was lovely and so were the staff. The food was amazing! I had the pork gyros for main. I was worried it may be a bit dry as pork can be, but it wasn't at all. Even the chips were some of the best I've ever had! Everyone said their food was delicious and the manager was very friendly. I'll definitely be going back.

Stumbled across this restaurant and have to say it's amazing. Great food, great wine, great services. Went here for my birthday meal early this year. Have to admit we was looking for a different restaurant we found on trip advisor and we was walking for ages. Walked past this one but decided to keep on going to find the one we was initially looking for but after seeing what it looked like from outside the front and as some of the staff was outside the front, smoking we decided not to even bother so we walked back and came here. The food was really nice, we went for the tapas type dishes and just went crazy. I started with a single glass of wine but after tasting that (having let it breath) for a few sips I decided to order the bottle! Which is awesome as it comes in a metal jug.. Carafe. Great for the wine to breath as it's obviously more open to the air then through the bottle. Now I'm not one of those people that pretends to know anything about red wines but I know what I like. Also the people that tend to stick their nose in it and take it in with air are just pretentious, seen as red wine changes the longer it's breathing.. But that's not the point. Anyway the food was very nice, eating mussels and calamari with a view of the beach is always a nice touch. The waitress was very accommodating and friendly. As we really couldn't decide on what to eat she Dr some missions just to find out our order so credit to her. Towards the end of the evening the resturabt became a lot more bussier and we definitely stayed our welcome and then some but at no point was we made to feel that we had to go or awkward in anyway which is nice seen as a lot of restaurants make you feel this way so it was a nice change of pace. I've not got anything bad to say about this restaurant which is a surprise because normally no matter how good something is, there normally is one thing BUT that's not the case here. If I return to Brighton then you can be sure I'll be coming back and ordering another carafe!

The building looks a bit shabby from the outside, but the staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming. We had pre booked a tapas offer from Living Social and where as the pictures of the offer showed an awful lot more food that what was actually delivered, we still had enough to feel pleasantly full. I think I would have been a little disappointed if I had paid the full price of £55, but for £20, there were zero complaints. The attentive staff made this a very good experience :-)

We went on a Living Social voucher. The tapas is nothing like the photo. You do not get a choice of tapas , the first five dishes were half full and not what I would have chosen I asked for some more bread yes we did have. The next dish arrived chicken rice dish two small pieces of chicken the size of your fingernail, two mussels shells only one had a mussel in . The potatoes were the biggest dish which followed covered in a chilli ketchup awful then a chick in in garlic small amount of very small pieces, in all not a good meal .Your bread counted as your tenth dish . A very disappointing meal.

We drove quite a distance to visit this restaurant for lunch. On arrival, there was a handwritten note stuck in the window saying "closed Tuesdays for staff day off!"On both their own website, & on Tripadvisor, it advertises it is open Sun-Sat, & advertises a set menu Mon-Thurs. It is a shame that they haven't the courtesy to put it on their website. They don't deserve to get business. We won't be returning

What I loved about this place is its simplicity all the while providing quick and friendly service and quite incredible food. It is a Spanish family run restaurant overlooking Brighton's West Pier and we was in and out of the place in 55 minutes whilst consuming 10 separate dished and 2 lagers. I wasn't rushed, they timed the food to perfection and the quality of the garlic mushrooms, the chilli prawns, the chicken, the chilli potato and the potato salad meant I had to share the experience with trip advisor.Certainly a place that was welcoming to my young family, I urge you all to pop in and enjoy the food and the Spanish music.Thank you so much.

We had a groupon offer so had pre-booked. It was empty when we arrived so sat in the window overlooking the sea front . Our offer was for sangria and 10 tapas. They swapped the sangria for a beer with no hesitation. The tapas were then brought out when cooked. There wasn't a choice and i think it would be best to ask if there is anything that one wouldn't eat...as we were given calamari which neither of us eat ( they graciously offered to provide something else which we declined) but it just seemed a waste. Portions were good and the food was delicious and its always good to have a seat to people watch in Brighton.

We had eaten here a few years back, when it was a Greek restaurant called Greco, and had had an excellent meal, so we were a bit concerned whether the change of style would affect the quality. It hadn't, but the overall impression was that it wasn't sure whether it was trying to attract diners for a traditional three course meal, or to share a number of smaller dishes. We were of the former ilk and so were a bit disappointed at the limited number of desserts, with the dessert menu also being lacking on the restaurant's web site.Nevertheless, we chose two dishes to share from the tapas / mezes menu, and followed that with a vegetarian moussaka each. We did have desserts! Ice cream. The food was very tasty and was washed down with some of the house red. We were there on a Thursday evening and, despite its excellent location, it was fairly quiet. However, the entrance (on Preston St.) is not obvious and is a bit unusual as it seems to be shared with the hostel next door. And the toilets seem almost a taxi ride away! But we had an enjoyable meal and evening and, on a future visit to Brighton, would happily return (and hope that it hasn't changed its name again!).

I bought a Groupon voucher after reading the positive comments on Trip advisor. My husband rang to book a table a few days later for Saturday 5 th September. He spoke to the manager who told us the restaurant was fully booked that day- we were very flexible on time and could have gone between 12.30 pm and 5.30 pm. Despite this it was a firm NO! This was disappointing as we live 90 minutes away by car and wouldn't be visiting again until after the deal expired. We decided to chance it on the day hoping someone may have cancelled. We turned up at 2.30 pm and asked for a table and were graciously shown to one. There were two other tables of two and the diners were just finishing their meals. As soon as we were seated we produced the Groupon voucher. Everything changed. We were told they couldn't accommodate Groupon bookings that day as the food has to be cooked from scratch and as there were ten dishes the kitchen couldn't cope. The other diners left at this point leaving just myself and my husband in the entire restaurant. We were then asked why we hadn't booked and I told them that we tried to but they said they were too busy for more bookings ( what a joke!) eventually charm and patience won the day and they agreed we could stay. We were told the food would take a very long time to cook so we'd have to be patient. Ten minutes later the first five tapas arrived followed a few minutes later by the rest. The staff were charming, the food delicious and hot but I was left feeling uncomfortable by the experience. Very strange!

I bought a Groupon deal for the tapas meal for my birthday and 6 of us went. We had 30 dishes and a glass of sangria. The food was excellent and so much and the sangria really nice- we also had white wine which was very good. The view is great as we sat at the front of the restaurant area at my request. It is right opposite the sea and the old pier and the new construction i360 going on. The staff were really lovely and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable night. It is a hotel and not a Spanish restaurant. The decor is basic and clean. The background music created a calm environment..

I saw this place on groupon and thought that ten tapas and sangria for £19.95 was a great deal, and had never heard of the restaurant however I love trying new places! I came with my boyfriend who hasn't had tapas that much but I love it and have tried lots of places in brighton! We arrived at 8 and were the only people there for the first 5 minutes, but it quickly filled up after we arrived! We were served the tapas in 2 stages, which I think my boyfriend likes but I prefer to have it all in one go, but I wasn't that bothered by it. The food was mainly very very good! I think there were only 1/2 dishes that I didn't like as much but they were still nice! Loved the prawns and the garlic sauce was amazing, and calamari, chorizo, meatballs and this tuna potato salad thing we're all rally really nice! The chicken was a little dry and over cooked but the sauce it came in was lovely, although I was getting very full up by that point! There was plenty of food for two and it was all very nice! We were not pushed to but any more drinks, and had tap water along with our sangria, which was very nice too! I also looked at the menu separately online and a lot of the dishes looked good as well, and I would definitely go back to try some! We both liked the restaurant itself. It's still seems new and maybe not as well done up as other places but has a homely feel and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I think they are doing the right thing getting people to visit with these very good groupon deals and showing people what a nice place it is. This is not a place I would have found outside of groupon but highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I went with a Groupon deal, 10 tapas dishes and a glass of sangria each for £20 which on paper looked great. We instantly regretted it! The restaurant was empty even though it was a Friday night, there were 2 other tables eating. There was a band playing 'live karaoke' extremely loudly, even though nobody was singing, and then at the same time there was loud pre-recorded spanish music playing from the speakers! It was honestly so loud I couldn't hear my boyfriend talking from across the table. We asked if we could mvoe to somewhere quieter to eat (there is a downstairs seating area) but were told that there was a death metal band there for a private party!!The service was terrible, the waitress was moody and seemed annoyed with us from the start. Our dishes were brought out almost immediately which was suspicious, it was a set menu with the deal so I imagine they had them all pre-cooked. The waitress actually dropped the dishes onto the table from a height. With one of them she said 'I think this is sausage... no, is prawns'. The food was dry, rubbery and reheated, it was the worst dining experience either of us has ever had but we just had to laugh, it was like dining at Faulty Towers!Even though it was only £20 with the Groupon, it was still a waste of an evening and we couldn't even enjoy each other's company with the banging music! There are so many lovely places to eat in Brighton, avoid this at all costs.

When a restaurant is empty and all others are full, the writing is on the wall. Nice friendly barman, but the restaurant itself was tired and worn, large bottles of coke used as mixers = flat, I did ask for a small haddock and chips and they took me at my word but charged the same price as my husband's which was almost twice as big. It was £8.50 for my small portion of haddock, about a dozen chips one cherry tomato and some leaves . No tartar sauce but we were given a little pot of mayo. We were told it was fresh and locally caught, my husband is an expert on fresh fish and said he doubted very much that it was, he said his San Miguel was nice. I would not recommend this restaurant.

The SERVICE IS DREADFUL! Me and my partner had lunch in this place few months ago (at the time I didn't have a tripadvisor account), we've got tricked by nice reviews on the Tastecard website, so we decided to go try the Greek food of this restaurant, instead of our USUAL AMAZING SUPER TASTEFUL RESTAURANT NEARBY.When we arrived we were barely greeted by a Waitress which seemed very much in a hurry and annoyed, she led us through the entrance, where someone had just cleaned the floor, so it was wet, I have noticed when I was about to slip ... and there was no sign of 'cleaning in progress'.Once we sat, the waitress gave us some sticky menu (which counts FEW Greek specialities), then she kept coming to take our order, although we said more than once: 'we are not ready to order' , so exasperate we finally ordered. At the nearby table table there were some Spanish / South American which were really enjoying the LOUD LATIN / SPANISH VERY LOUD MUSIC (in a Greek Restaurant I was expecting to listen Greek music, or at least Brit since we are in England). We soon understood that the table nearby were relatives of the waitress (who was a Spanish speaker) in fact she kept going back and forth from that table all the times. The waitress also had LOOSE HAIR, Totally Not Hygenic! As a starter I had a saganaki with was DEFENETLY NOT FRASHELY MADE.The octopus was too soft, the 'fresh' orange juice WASN'T FRESH.ONCE WE FINISHED THE STARTERS WE PLACED OUR CUTLERY ON THE DISH IN ORDER FOR THEM TO BE REMOVED ... The 'WAITRESS' TOLD US (in a peremptory tone) TO REMOVE THE CUTLERY FROM THE PLATE AND TO KEEP IT TO EAT OUR MAIN COURSE!!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY?????!????!?Later my Greek salad came SERVED ON A HOT PLATE.My partner just told me : 'let s finish and go away!'Due to the Tastecard deal we had and the waitress forgetting to charge the orange juice, I have to say that at least the bill was quite cheap. We didn't mind that the food wasn't great but edible (it happens), it was the service which literally left us shocked!I am an ex Food & Beverage Supervisor and my Partner is an ex CHEF... We were literally APPALLED by the whole dining experience.

My Swedish partner and I took our mothers here for dinner on a nice June evening and had a fantastic tapas and mezze selection. They have very good weekday deals (4 tapas/meze for around £15-£19 pound or 2pint jug and 3 tapas for £17 I think) but we ordered a selection and used the 25% gourmet society discount instead (I get a card through my bank). The foods really good, you can tell it's very freshly made (not pre made and reheated) and has a great homemade flavour. The owner was really friendly and welcoming and looked after us well. Lovely view over the crumbling west pier and sea (there's a road in between, but that's Brighton see front for you). Definitely be returning. 4 full to bursting on tapas/meze dishes and 4pints an 2 soft drinks for £55ish (with a 25% discount but even without the card use the offers in house and you wouldn't have paid much more). Highly recommended.

My husband and I had a wonderful two course Sunday lunch here. There is indeed a beach view if you sit in the conservatory part of the restaurant, which we did on a previous visit, this time we sat in the main part of the restaurant. We both had lamb and the meal was delicious. The vegetables, which were clearly fresh, not frozen, were cooked to perfection. The lamb, of which there was an abundance, was excellent with no fat at all. I had apple pie and ice cream for dessert, my husband had his with cream. The pie was definitely not shop bought. The service was faultless, this being a friendly family run restaurant. I enjoy a glass of wine with my meal but my husband drinks little, so we had a half bottle carafe, which was ideal and not always available in restaurants. Incidentally there was no service charge. If you want a good old English roast dinner in the middle of Brighton, we would definitely recommend this place.

Went for Sunday roast and desert with a friend. The portions for the Sunday roast were rather small and the quality was poorer than all the other roasts I have had in Brighton. It wasn't very hot either. The chocolate cake I had for desert hadn't finished defrosting before I was served it. We couldn't get our first choices for either roast or desert. Although the staff were friendly, they didn't tell us options had sold out before we made our order. It was overall disappointing

This was our second visit to this restaurant. On our first visit, everything was brilliant and we decided to go back but this time the service was poor, my daughter was sick and my huband's food was smelly and awful! And as for the owner's response, he did not take any responsibility for it. Hope he takes our comments on board and do something about it. What a shame!

We also had a Groupon voucher and although was at first was taken aback that we had set menu, because my friend and I are fussy and her a vegetarian they kindly offered us choice to which we had mixture of meze and tapas. The food and the service was lovely. When the food first came out I thought there wouldn't be enough, it was actually plentiful that we sadly left some. There may well be better places to eat, but we enjoyed and would actually return again.

As others we had a Groupon deal - no choice of menu which wasn't clear, mushrooms and prawns were good, bread was fine, but wouldn't choose any of the others again. Patatas bravas were hard, some random potato salad with tuna in, and a very strained atmosphere. Lots of other restaurants to choose from including Santiago right on the seafront which would be a much better choice.

We had a Groupon tapas offer and I can only assume we got the dregs of the tapas because of this.We had 10 dishes and that was 9 too many (the bread was ok). All of the food was bland and cold. The first dish was a mash up of cold potatoes, tuna and egg in mayonnaise....it looked like something a cat would eat....it really was horrible. Sadly things only got worse. We had chorizo which was cold and oily as were the prawns. The chicken dish was quite frightening and the garlic mushrooms were cold and had certainly never seen any garlic. I have erased the others from memory to be honest.Luckily, we managed to see the funny side and joked about where we could hide the food rather that upsetting the lovely owner who was so proud of every dish he brought to the table. We just told him there was far too much for us to eat instead!!!On a positive note the staff were lovely and the view was amazing. Such a shame......

The food was good to perfection by the owners wife (reliably informed). There was a wide choice, all explained on arrival to our table, tasty, fresh and beautifully presented. The Sangria was superb too.well worth a vist, we will definitely be back!! Made my birthday eve. Thank you

Four of us had a tapas lunch @ £10 per head with a glass of sangria on a Groupon deal this week, 20 plates in all. It turned out to be too much food for lunch and had we known we should have ordered for two people instead of four as such a lot of food was wasted. Some of the dishes were better than others. The chicken was a little dry and the chorizo very strong smoked flavour. The prawns in garlic were lovely also the mushrooms. Still a bargain at the price. This restaurant is in a very good sea front position and it was very pleasant sitting watching the world go by, especially as it happened to be the Brighton Marathon which we hadn't realised before deciding to have a couple of days stay in Brighton.

I booked a tapas and sangria meal for two via Groupon at a bargain £19.95 and wasn't expecting the amazing experience we had.The restaurant faces out towards the beach but the main entrance is on the side and from the outside one doesn't appreciate how friendly the staff are, how lovely the atmosphere is and most importantly how excellent the food is.Thankfully we went for the 10 tapas and not the 20 tapas, as there was so much food served we simply couldn't eat it all. There was chicken, chorizo, meatballs, calamares, garlic prawns, mushrooms, patatas bravas, croquettes, salad and bread, and sangria. The quality and quantity was impressive and food was tasty.I would strongly recommend this restaurant and big pat on the back to the staff - worth a visit when in Brighton with or without a voucher.

Visited for the first time on a Groupon promotion. Service was polite and very quick as we had pre-paid for a selection of 10 tapas with a glass of Sangria. Had it not been for the promotion, we were unlikely to have visited this restaurant, however, we were very surprised by how good the tapas dishes were and will definitely be back. Unfortunately we visited on a foggy evening. As the restaurant is right on the sea front, it would be even better on a bright summer evening.

We purchased a deal on Groupon to dine here. We had 10 tapas plates and a glass of sangria for £20 for 2 people. We booked via email for a Friday evening. When we arrived we were greeted well and seated straight away, even though we were half an hour early. The restaurant was fairly full and the staff were keen and friendly. Our food was serviced in good time as it was a prebooked deal we had no menu to view and were served our tapas in fair time. As each dish was placed the owner and server explained what each dish was. They both seemed to be very pleased to serve us. All of the food was lovely. Garlic prawns, meatballs, croquettes, creamed potato, paella, garlic chicken, mushroom dish, bread, chorizo in brandy and saucy potato dish. All well presented cooked well and yummie. There was so much for just 2 people to eat. Only suggestion would be to have the creamed potato dish slight warmer as it was very chilled. You could see from the venue that it has been recently refurbished and work is still being carried out in hallway to the toilets as there was a lot of sawdust but this was no where near the restaurant. Many thanks for good service, nice food and what will be a fabulous venue in the summer. Not forgetting a warm farewell by the owner too.

We ate here yesterday and ordered s mixture of tapas and mezes dishes. The garlic mushrooms ,the prawns and meatballs were among the best we have ever had .The Russian salad was also divine and I strongly recommend them . The dishes are simple but the fresh produce and fresh cooking made them delicious .We went early evening on a Wednesday in March and so it was quiet (which suited us ) but if the food is anything to go by it will be very busy in season as it is located opposite the beach with big windows that I think would open out (it was spitting rain when we went so was not able to take advantage of this ) The service was very friendly and efficient. We used our taste card and thought it was very good value for money

We visited Beach View using a Groupon voucher for 10 tapas dishes plus sangria for two people. As soon as we sat down, the food started arriving. There were 10 tapas dishes but most of them seemed to have potato in - presumably they were bulking them out because of the voucher. Most of the food was warm rather than hot and quite disappointing. We weren't convinced that the sangria had alcohol in so we also ordered a bottle of white wine but we weren't even given an ice bucket to keep it cool. The restaurant set-up was strange as well. We think there was some kind of hostel above the restaurant and there were a couple of bars. To get to the toilets, we had to walk through a private party in one of those bars which was quite embarrassing.

We were given a Groupon Voucher for this restaurant so went along with the family to try it out. The location of Beach View is fantastic with wonderful ocean views and looking out towards the West Pier. The exterior of the restaurant needs some attention however the interior is very pleasant and we were situated in the conservatory area overlooking the sea. The staff were friendly and very attentive throughout our meal. We had their lamb roast dinner and it was a good portion however the food was let down by being cold and the food majority being cooked in advance. To finish we had Apple Pie which was average and whoever made the pastry must have extremely heavy hands. The pricing at the restaurant could also do with being reviewed as the drinks were expensive as were the deserts. For the portion size and quality of the Apple Pie its impossible to justify the £5.95 price tag it attracts. Overall we enjoyed the location however the food was average and we'd be in no rush to return.

Myself & my husband have been to this restaurant and had lovely greek food in the past and been very pleased with not only the service, but also the food. The owner greeted me as I came in and seated me, whilst I waited for my husband who was parking the car. This time we came for valentines lunch, a groupon voucher my husband purchased.2 glasses of san gria and 10 tapas dishes. The owner came out and said we will start, no explanation of what we would have tapas dish wise just that there would be 10 dishes. The San Gria was medioka, we started off with bread and tuna potatos dish.then had potatas bravas, chorizio, meatballs and pollo ajilio (chicken in white wine.a few of the dishes were ok. We were very disappointed in the pollo ajilio as this is one of my favourite dishes, now ruined as it came out it was chicken wings chopped up bones and all, in a dish with slices of garlic and some wine. Then came cheese puffs, gambas ajilio (prawns in garlic and chilli). Then we were served a seafood Paella, that was all rice and no seafood. We found 2 small prawns and a small squid ring. The food was not great in places and it was done on a budget, I mean come on who uses chicken wings for a main dish, pollo ajilio is supposed to be chunks of chicken normally breast meat with garlic and white wine.I am sorry to say that we were the only customers in the restaurant and all other restaurants were full.Shame as it looks like it has new owners and has gone down hill.VERY DISAPPOINTED

This came with just the ice, no fruit and really not up to restaurant standards. The food started to come in drips and drabs which didn't really work. We didn't get a choice either as to what we wanted. It was clear the produce they are using are cheap, bland and really not what you would expect. We had breakfast here yesterday and I was absolutely appalled. The server was eating his own brekkie when we arrived, atfer being seated we ordered. We were the only people in the whole place. The food came out nearly 20 minutes later - I was given my fry up with a slice of what appeared to be Quiche. (I had ordered with Quorn Sausages) I was told there were no sausages so I had been given (Without being asked) a replacement of Spanish omlette served with another two fried eggs, The beans were cold, and the server did not speak good English so we were left unable to complain. My partner's scrambled eggs tasted quite 'off' and as a result a large amount of both breakfasts were left untouched. We had to go and find the server to pay, we weren't asked how our meals were and he simply gave me the card machine, took the payment and walked off without saying a word. Totally unacceptable for £17

My husband and I have just returned from a delightful Tapas and Sangria meal at the Beach View restaurant on the seafront in Brighton. I bought the Groupon voucher which included 10 Tapas dishes between us and a glass of Sangria each. The restaurant is opposite the West pier and is adjoining a hotel, although they are both separately owned. The restaurant has been completely refurbished by the present owners and is very tastefully done. It is spotlessly clean and has a warm cosy feeling. The split levels makes it cosier still and the front tables have great views of the beach. We visited on a very wet and windy day, so the view was of rolling surf! I was initially very impressed by the warm response on the phone when I called to make the reservation and then when we arrived and greeted by Sophia and shown to our table. There was a varied selection of Tapas which were delicious. The meal was fantastic value. And the 10 dishes arrival was staggered so that they did not get cold and also gave us time to enjoy the individual dishes. We are now looking forward to returning to try their Sunday roast in February! Definitely worth trying. A great location, lovely helpful and friendly staff, delicious food and a varied menu with Spanish Tapas, Greek Mezes, Sunday Roasts, kids menu and other firm favourites. Thank you

We needed somewhere to eat as Alfresco across the road which we had booked had no record of our booking and settled on this in desperation as it was close to where we were staying and within walking distance of where we wanted to go afterwards. There isn't a big selection of mains for vegetarians (cold winter's night so salad was out, and I dislike moussaka) so I had to order a couple of small dishes which were fine enough, my partner loved his tuna though and it was quite greek in that it was served luke warm...and as the place is on the sea front the view was lovely. We stumbled across this restaurant whilst walking along the front and were tempted in by the promise of Greek cuisine. We were warmly welcomed and the menu promised a lot, but apart from the hummus it proved a little disappointing. The chicken gyros were overcooked and the moussaka lacked real flavour. The baklava and ice cream rescued some lost ground, but we felt there was a high degree of unrealised potential here.
