Called in here for a late breakfast on a wet and windy day. Under new ownership since last time I visited. Wow, it did not disappoint! Friendly sociable owners, nothing is too much trouble, most importantly hearty freshly cooked breakfast, quality food. Filter coffee (not out of a machine) excellent value for money. Wishing the new owners every success, they thoroughly deserve it for the effort they are putting in, well worth a visit, a good old fashioned traditional seaside cafe!

Just been to this lovely spot. Along with a new name,"Betty's Beach Hut",you will now find it looks rather different!! Second day open for this lovely lot and it's evident much care and hard work has gone into its gorgeous makeover. We were a hungry bunch of 7, 6 of whom had just climbed Scafell Peak, and were greeted with friendly smiles and delicious, freshly cooked and reasonably priced breakfasts. Would highly recommend this delightful spot, kids play area alongside also makes it a perfect place for families. Wishing them every future success.😀👍

On holiday and wanting a proper FullEnglish breakfast cooked by someone else so visited the Beach Cafe. Massive breakfasts, quality ingredients and fast efficient service. My husband asked for his breakfast without beans so they added an extra egg without being asked. My experience was quite the opposite of the last reviewer- service was immediate and friendly and the prices were very good for the quality and quantity. Have been to this cafe before, and will make a point of going next time we are visiting family in the area.

We visited Haverigg today for a walk with our dogs. Seeing the cafe , we thought we’d like a hot drink. On entering, I waited to be served at the counter…. And waited …. The person ‘serving’ proceeded to wash dirty glasses in the sink with her back to me. I waited 5 minutes and was totally ignored. I thought she would serve me once she had finished on the glasses but then she proceeded to start filling the dishwasher. I felt like a character from a comedy show waiting patiently to be served. By now my will to live had already left the cafe so rather than trying to shout through the Perspex screen , I left the cafe , NEVER EVER to return. I find it extremely rude behaviour from somebody supposedly working in a cafe serving people food and drink.

2nd visit, both times proved to be value for money, great breakfast well cooked and presented. Great stop for a cuppa and a sandwich after a winters walk on the beach, like a community centre with friendly locals all having a chat over a cuppa. Its quality and atmosphere is further proven with the arrival of summer to a busy season of hungry visitors to the lovely sandy beaches out front. Public amenities and play bark a stones throw away.

This is a great cafe on the beach at Haverigg. They serve filter and instant coffee and a wide range of teas (including lots of different herb teas) as well as sandwiches, paninis, toasties, jacket potatoes and full meals all served with fresh salads or coleslaw. The mirror shows the latest offers of the day. There are discounts for pensioners and several high chairs for toddlers. There are vegetarian breakfast options too. This cafe caters for everyone. There is a toilet block across the road and plenty of free parking opposite. This is one very friendly place where everything is freshly made - so please don't expect instant food! A ten on ten breakfast from the Beach Cafe on this return visit. Big Breakfasts are a fair plate full (12 inch), and the breakfast brunch just what is required after a night on the Director's bitter and a visit to the Owl Sanctuary. Minor criticism would be that the fried egg was placed on top of the beans. I might want to mix the two, but I want it to be my choice. Use a sausage as a breakwater.

The place was rammed with families on a sunny weekend lunch time but our order was taken, our table cleared & we were informed of the expected waiting time which we didn't mind as the kids play park is opposite. Burgers(with fresh salad mayo & relish) chips & drinks x4 = about £18, better than a crappy McD's. Nicely decorated & comfy inside seating for 20+ more outside too.

Due to lockdown restrictions, Truly Scrumptious has a delivery service, so this was ordered by phone, rather than a visit to the shop. Their cream tea selections are amazing! My sister ordered this for mother's day - and since we haven't seen her since October 2020, she treated me, too! Delivery was within a 2-hour time slot, and arrived in good time. I would highly recommend Moresby Hall. The owners were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I am a wheelchair user so was concerned about the actual accessibility of this grade 1 listed building. However they exceeded our expectations, having a designated, very well thought out, accessible apartment on the ground floor with every possible aid needed. Not only that but it was beautiful and we very much enjoyed our stay. Jane and David the owners were very welcoming, approachable and friendly, and they even made a amendment to the front door as my chair caught on a part of it. Breakfast was really nice, having a great selection to choose from and hot food made to order. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had and it felt much better than the buffet style English breakfast. The weekend went by very fast and I’d have loved to stay longer. Would highly recommend this beautiful hall as you won’t be disappointed.

Lovely friendly independent cafe based in the church at Frizington. When we went we had booked because it gets packed out by local residents. My friend is local but I was visiting . We ordered tea for two and a lovely big pot with China cups and saucers arrived. More hot water to top up the pot no problem ! My friend had a delicious ( massive) omelette , salad and chips. I had the steak pie ( gorgeous gravy) , vegetables and again the wonderful home made chips ( best ever) . Crumbles or ginger cake with custard for dessert. I just loved the lively atmosphere . So great to see a place thriving in the north west lakes. A real hidden gem.
