BBuona Pizza Bar in Oxford

Perhaps some of the best pizzas I’ve had! The porcini mushrooms pizza is the absolute best and mushrooms pizzas will never be the same. The garlic oil and chilli oil are the best addition to the pizza and just help to mix things up a little bit. It’s a must visit whenever I’m down in Oxford!

Some of the nicest pizza I’ve ever had. Deliciously crispy, generous toppings & very good value. The Italian confectionary desserts are absolutely lovely & very good coffee. The unlimited pizza for £25 is brilliant but read the T&C carefully as table beside us ran in to some issues.

Maybe in Italy there are better pizzas? Or maybe not. Our lunch - five people, five pizzas, and I made sure to try everyone else's too - was superb. The dough is perfect, on the light side but full of flavour (subtle not overpowering). Special recommendation for anything with bufala mozzarella, so creamy but not icky. Service was great and the price very reasonable; we brought a few slices home in a box. The interior isn't fancy and that's completely fine. These people are concentrating on the main intention: to serve the best pizzas in England. Don't hesitate.

Worst pizza I've ever had . it was served Cold and uncut. In order to cut it in slices was a real challenge. Tasteless and my stomach got upset afterwards. Waste of money

Get you someone who looks at you the same way I look at this pizza 🍕. Very tasty food, lovely staff. I also recommend the pistachio croissant.

One of the best gluten free pizzas I’ve ever had (possibly even the best!) I was told the normal pizza was amazing as well. Great service and a great, casual setting.

Small restaurant, family atmosphere. Varied dishes, children's menu, ice cream, coffee. Juicy, fairly large portions. There is not much space between the tables, at lunch time many people visit from the nearby university - it is not too noisy, we were able to have lunch in peace.

Only giving 4 stars because my mom didn't love her pizza but I think it was mostly because she didn't pick a flavor she liked. I got the plain Margherita and loved it. Pizza bread was good. We enjoyed the bruschetta (different from the usual tomato topping) and the strawberry gelato/lemon sorbet were so yummy. Lovely and quick service. We got there maybe around 5:30pm. The place filled up pretty quickly afterwards closer to 6/6:30pm.

Saturday night was incredibly busy with every table taken, so be sure to book in advance! Despite the full house, there were no wait times, and both the food and service were outstanding. We'll definitely be returning!

Excellent gluten free pizza. Best gluten free I have ever had! My husband said my gluten free dough was very close to his regular pizza taste and texture. He was extremely happy with his non gluten free too! Nice casual space to enjoy your dinner and a drink. Highly recommend.

Cramped and over priced. £50 for two pizzas and two soft drinks. The last two times we have visited have been dreadful. No staff took us to a table, we waited patiently and the staff saw us waiting but ignored us. There are too many tables for this tiny space such that you cannot get past other diners without disturbing them or sit comfortably to eat. The pizzas at best are average and the drinks over priced £5 for a can of San Pellegrino, which you can buy wholesale for a pound or in a supermarket for less than £2 as are the beers per volume are expensive. Oxford city rates reflect the history of the city, but that doesn’t mean you have to rip people off. There are plenty of better pizza places in town Mamma Mia for one where prices are reasonable and you are not sat on top of other diners. Don’t be drawn in by this tourist trap or the allure that it is traditional Italian do your research and enjoy a better pizza dining experience that Oxford has to offer. To put it simply, pinsa is a type of pizza, a pizza is, by definition, a flatbread with cheese, sauce, and other toppings and if you sell pinsa not pizza you may wish to consider removing any reference to pizza from your branding and advertising and make it clear you sell pinsa as if if looks likes pizza and smells like pizza generally it is pizza unless otherwise stated. Thank you for confirming your San Pellegrino price, Sainsbury’s sell a pack of 4 for £3.60. It does not change the fact the place is cramped and over priced no matter how you try to justify product and branding.

Just as good as our previous visit, routed in truly authentic Italian food and ingredients. Our pizzas were to die for, consisting of a cured 20-hour dough base topped off with beautiful fresh ingredients. If you like an Aperol or Martini Spritz you are in luck.

This place is Tiny. I would highly recommend booking a table before you visit this place. I don’t have any complaints with the service here. The staff is friendly and nice. Please note that you have to order your food/drinks at the bar; your order will be served to your table. Coming to the food, I did not enjoy the Bufalo pistachio pizza the reason being it is not a tomato base pizza and there is no base at all. It is literally just cheese, bread and pesto. It was too dry; this pizza should not be on the menu. My friends told me that their pizzas were also fairly basic. The drinks were disappointing as well. I ordered a Negron; they served it without mixing the spirits. I get it that you want the drink to look nice but that should not be any reason to serve your drink without mixing it. Especially a Negroni ! My friend who got an Aperol spirit was also disappointed as there was too little Aperol in the drink it was literally 2 point away from being an orange soda.

I was introduced to the concept of Pinsa at Bbuona, and I didn’t even know it existed! The food was absolutely delicious, with incredibly fresh and flavorful ingredients. The burrata was creamy and rich, and the salame pinsa was outstanding—spicy and packed with flavor. The cannolo was truly exceptional, one of the best I’ve ever had. There’s a limited but good selection of Italian wines, which complemented the meal nicely. While the service took a bit longer than expected and the restroom wasn’t very clean, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Oxford. Locals are lucky to have such a gem at their doorstep!

Olives, burrata, pinza were all delicious. Cannolo and wine were excellent accompaniments.

Really tasty pizzas, but some odd toppings, so you may want to customise! Restaurant is lively but very cramped! We had to move the tables just to squeeze in!

Everything was super yums! Very casual Sunday lunch. Lots of little children around, but it wasn’t excessively loud. In fact, it made for cheery vibes. The decor of the place was also really cute. A pinsa and salad for two people is just right for us. Pinsa Tartufo, Energetica salad, Hot chocolate, Flat white (almond milk)

Authentic Pizza Romana in the centre of Oxford. The ingredients were amazing and the pizza dough was perfectly fermented and baked. We didn’t have reservation but they kindly accommodated us.

Absolutely fabulous pizzas, including gluten free options - I had the salciccia and rabe on a gluten free base and it was one of the best gf pizzas I've tried. Friendly service and very helpful staff who knew exactly what I could eat. Good value for money too.

Not much to say other than the pizza is good, very good. Really nice crisp undercarriage, the crust is charred just the right amount, tangy tomato sauce and good high quality cheese. Not soggy or overly greasy. Solid pizza experience, 1 bite everybody knows the rules.

I had a great Pizza, probably my favorite I had all year. It's a small place, but that gives it a more low-key, cosy vibe that I really enjoyed. Staff was lovely, and again great food. When I return to Oxford I will for sure stop by!

The best pinsa (similar to pizza but with another type of dough that is also very juicy) that I have tried, plus practically all of them can be made with gluten-free dough and it has been years since I had one this delicious, it had nothing to envy of the pinsas or pizzas with gluten. You can reserve (the place is quite full at rush hour). If I return to Oxford, without a doubt, I will repeat.

The pizza is decent, a bit doughy. The chef was strangely confrontational at the start, although he did serve us the pizza himself later on.

Highly recommend Bbuona. Great atmosphere, amazing service and incredible food. My Grandma isn't able to eat cheese so she's always restricted to what she's able to order from the menu. The Porcini E Salsiccia caught her eye but as it contains two types of cheese she wasn't going to order it. The staff were more than happy to accommodate her dietary requirements and she said that it's the first in a very long time that she has thoroughly enjoyed a pizza! We all had a great time and had a delicious lunch. We can't wait to visit again!

Found this using trip advisor! Excellent food and staff, their cheese was amazing! 100% go back when in area! Cold meat starter was delicious and their pizzas are incredible! You won’t leave hungry! Great value and very friendly team work there.

Gran ambiente, buena comida y un servicio increíble, Matteo y el equipo eran muy amables y atentos e hicieron que nuestra visita fuera genial.

Compartí la pizza pistacho y pizza salami con mi pareja. Ambos deliciosos. Los postres también se veían increíbles, pero tristemente demasiado llenos para probarlos!

Hubby y yo fuimos con amigos (otra pareja) a una función por la tarde en el Teatro Playhouse. Quería un lugar para comer algo después del espectáculo para una cena temprano por la noche - algo así como una pizza o hamburguesa. Miramos recomendaciones y BBuona Pinsa Bar parecía un buen lugar para comer. En el camino a la Playhouse llamamos para reservar una mesa (aunque esto no habría sido necesario dado que estábamos comiendo antes de las 5 pm) Es un lugar muy casual, personal amable, limpio y mesas en el interior bien espaciado con un montón de asientos en el exterior también. Excelente ubicación para el centro de la ciudad. Todos elegimos una pinsa diferente (como una pizza pero rectangular y la base de masa es mucho más sabrosa) La música de fondo no era demasiado fuerte, mi amigo y yo tomamos una copa encantadora de Pinot Grigio, rojo marido y amigos marido una cerveza baja en alcohol (el conductor). Salimos bien y verdaderamente llenos y satisfechos - yum yum yum! Definitivamente iré de nuevo.

I go there whenever I go to Oxford its not on the main road but I find it near the bus station. Its independent I like independent ones. It was rather quiet when we went on our way to the Kafka Exhibition no croissants but a few little pastries.

Had a fantastic time at Bbuona! Opted to sit outside during the visit as weather wasn't too bad but it was very busy. It had a pleasant lively atmosphere. Ordered food and didn't take long before it came. I was thrilled by the portion sizes and tasted amazing. Would highly recommend and I will definitely be returning again soon.

While the pizza crust was thin and tasty, there was a lot of oil on the cheese and too heavy for our liking. The desserts were middle of the road.

Really not impressed by their approach to service charges. I did not see any indication on the menu that there was a service charge. It was not mentioned verbally and there is a small notice near the till which you are extremely unlikely to notice before paying. I was not provided with a receipt. Only a few minutes after paying did I realise the discrepancy between listed price and what I paid. When questioned, they said that the additional cost was a service charge. How can they possibly claim that a service charge is optional when you are not even told you are paying it and are not provided with a receipt or a bill? If you need to increase your prices that's fine, but I really dislike the opaque approach taken here. The food was good but the borderline deceptive practice left me with a sour taste.

The waiters were very kind and attentive, and the 5 Formaggi was absolutely delicious.

Fantastic pinsa! The twice baked crust is just epic. The staff were all incredibly engaging and clearly love working and being there. Totally recommend. Had a great chat with owner Andi. Only suggestion I have is to use a bit more seasoning but either way it’s an 11/10!!!

BBuona is a highly rated pizza restaurant in Oxford. It is certainly different from Your average chain pizza restaurant. Boasting an authentic and original sour dough pizza recipe. I am a fan of think crust pizza whereas this is very much a deep crust affair. It’s not to say that it was not tasty and many people will rave about it authenticity. Is it the best Pizza restaurant in Oxford? For me no. However it does have quality ingredients and worth a visit.

Picked it on the basis of the reviews and it did not disappoint. I've eaten pizza from Naples to Milan and this was exceptional. Of course the dough was brilliant but the thought about the toppings needs to be celebrated too. Only downside was that I was too full to try their tiramisu 😢 Staff and service were both great despite it being surprisingly busy for a Monday night.

Great little spot with a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Service was excellent, but with a quite noticeable language barrier. nonetheless the server was still very attentive and caring The Margherita pizza was, and in no word of a lie, the best pizza I’ve personally ever, EVER had. Just everything about it was lip-smackingly good, moreish even. Some may say it’s just “bread and cheese”, which it is, but if you take into consideration the ingredients and the pure quality that’s put into dish, you most certainly wouldn’t be saying that then. But anyway, i digress. I would highly, highly recommend this place without a shadow of doubt. And i would strongly encourage you to try other dishes off the menu. All rounder 5/5

We had a really lovely evening meal here last night - felt like we could have been in Italy! We had a great gluten free pizza, delicious Roman style base, and a parmigiana melanzane. The staff were friendly and service was really quick! Would recommend!

At our late arrival (only 1 hour before closing), we had just been ignored in a traditional and yet renowned Oxford pub and were starving : the Bbuona team (especially the super chief !) saved our 1st night in this stunning universities city ! We discovered the Pinsa and keep a lovely memory of this dinner :)

Great food, as well as service. The place is very welcoming and the portion of food is great. The staff were also very nice and polite one being called Kevin. I really recommend this place to come and dine.

This place is amazing! Some of the best pizza/pinsa I have ever had. Great atmosphere and pizza in 5-10 mins. Absolutely love it! Will be back regularly 😀 I have had to amend my rating after finding out they add a service charge to every order. This is not communicated to you when ordering and you are not given a receipt. It is stated in small writing at the bottom of the menu but this is hard to spot. I don't think this is fair and should be changed!

I recommend the Margherita Di Bufala, it's delicious! We also really enjoyed the tiramisu, and appreciated the friendly and fast service.

The location, atmosphere, and service here are top-notch. The outdoor seating is perfect for sunny days, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. However, during my recent visit with two Italian friends, the food fell short of expectations. While the starter was impressive, the pasta was disappointing and didn’t meet even average standards. We ended up leaving most of our meal untouched. It’s unfortunate that the food didn’t match the high quality of the rest of the restaurant experience.

We've been to Oxford many times but today we found this amazing gem of an Italian restaurant ! Pinsa was amazing and staff was very friendly and welcoming and for our time here it was as though we were in Italy ! Thanks to Matteo and we will be back soon!

Bbuona is best pizza in Oxford served by fantastic people. They are super kind, and provide a wonderfully authentic atmosphere.

Note: kitchen doesn't open till noon; only coffee and pastries before then. Great coffee, delicious pizza (had the salame which was amazing) and salad. Really enjoyed this place. Excellent service.

We had a wonderful meal and evening with Diego as our server. He made sure our food and seating was perfect.

It's a pleasant place to eat, especially on the outside tables, food and drinks come fast. We had several pinsa and they were all delicious, with a light and crispy base.

We have had several meals at Bbuona and have always enjoyed them. We have tried several different Pizza toppings all of which have been very appetising and we normally have a Side Salad which provides a healthy side dish. We have always been made welcome by the Staff, particularly Chiare who we have spoken with several times. We have also enjoyed " the little lobster " pastries with coffee.

My experience at BBUONA PINSA BAR was extremely positive. I was there with my family, and the place welcomed us with a warm atmosphere and very friendly staff. Throughout the evening, we were primarily served by Diogo, the Portuguese waiter, who was very professional and attentive, offering useful recommendations and ensuring everything was perfect. I also had the pleasure of speaking with Chiara, the Italian waitress, who was very kind and accommodating, adding a personal touch to our experience. I ordered a Margherita pinsa with burrata, and I can say it was a real delight. The dough was soft and fluffy, with a light crispiness on the outside that provided a nice contrast. The fresh tomatoes and mozzarella were of excellent quality and combined perfectly, while the burrata added a creaminess that made each bite delicious. After the meal, following Diogo’s suggestion, we decided to try the Italian coffee, and I must say it was an excellent recommendation. The coffee was outstanding, rich and full-flavored—a perfect conclusion to an already extraordinary meal. BBUONA PINSA BAR is a place I highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy authentic, high-quality pinsa, accompanied by impeccable service and hospitality that makes you feel at home.

We stumbled upon this place quite by chance while exploring the city, had fantastic pizzas ( really good dough and some new variations and combinations of toppings ) and authentic sicilian cannoli. The food was spot on, the atmosphere was very welcoming and the service was just beyond all our expectations. It was 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 children plus our dog Wednesday and we all loved it. Georgia, who was waiting on our table and her colleagues were exceptional and made it the experience we will remember from our time spent in Oxford. Fantastic overall and we all would definitely recommend.
