BB's Coffee and Muffins in County Durham

Aargh! We must've stood for about half an hour to get served (and the queue was barely to the door, and the place half-busy). Sullen staff, who just stand there waiting for you to speak first. Couldn't even be bothered to put the coffee onto the saucer. £4.50 for a slice of lemon cake!!! £2.50 for a tiny little cookie!!? It's a shopping outlet on the A19, not Zurich Airport. The coffee was alright, I think, I was just in a right mood after the service. I like giving the more independent places a go, but I really wished I'd gone to one of the nearby coffee chains for a drink.

Stopped of for a coffee and tea cake whilst on a shopping trip. Had a lovely cup of coffee but had to queue for over 10 minutes. The coffee machine apparently could not steam the milk quickly enough so this caused the wait.

Coffee was cold, baguette could have been cut and put on a plate with some garnish. Dirty knife and mug and a tea bag in a mug, yet advertises a pot of tea. First and last time of visiting.

Called in whilst shopping in Dalton Park and we had a regular latte, cup of tea, sausage bun and a cheese and onion toastie. Cost nearly £15. The small, already made up sausage bun was dry, felt stale and heated up until chewy. Drinks ok but massively overpriced. Staff and the environment pleasant enough but we’ll give it a swerve next time at those ridiculous prices.

Went to this coffee shop to day. We only got Hot chocolate medium Latte medium Bacon bap Tiny fruit scone And they charge me £15.50 On the rating if I could put less than 5 I would

Since my retirement I have had the opportunity to meet up with friends or on my own. I have visited BBs at Dalton Park every Thursday for nearly 5 months the staff are brilliant, the service is first class. Last but not least their muffins I have tasted about 5 different varieties and they are all absolutely scrumptious. If I could give them 6 out of 5 stars that would be warranted. Shirley

We entered and there was a bit of a queue , a few ladies being served, then 2 pairs of ladies before me, I stood nearly 15 minutes waiting for 2 teas, which is OK...however in this time ..I never seen anyone cleaning tables , my mam cleared ours and wiped using a spray hand sanitiser! Poor considering covid guidelines ...and the pace to serve next customers was poor...behind the counter to me seemed very disorganised. dark lady taking my order at till was friendly , fair haired lady sorting my tea, no eye contact, smile even when I thanked her for my order! No response! When I sat down the 2 long latte spoons we'd been given were dirty with coffee stuck to them , so I had to use wooden stirrers ... reluctant to return given poor hygiene protocols...

I visited with my family and was immediately greeted with rude staff and her rudely telling us to keep our distance from others which we were? Very rude and patronising manners.

I asked the young blond girl to please clean the messy seats,she had just cleaned the table top,she ignored me entirely and waddled away. The seats had what looked like egg on them and I was with my 90 year old mother She never returned Shocking slow motion careless person who clearly couldn't give a stuff. Paul Stubbs

We absolutely love our weekly, sometimes a few times a week visit to BBS, we pop in for coffee & cake after school. All the girls are fab, friendly & always making sure that everyone is happy! Actually know our order (we don’t change it much) We feel safe in the environment and very comfortable! Keep up the good work, see you next week! My ONLY issue is other customers not reading the signs on the doors. Squeezing through to get tables when it states “you must wait till you’re served before sitting down!” Resulting in people that are being served before them not being able to get a table for their family. It’s for everyone’s safety, just be patient, if you’re going to go out for coffee then understand that there are rules in place for a reason.

Called in for a quick cuppa whilst out shopping. Huge selection of lovely muffins, sandwiches, drinks etc. my daughter struggled to decide which flavour muffin. Great friendly service, tables well spaced. Highly recommended

Lots of lovely choices of cakes and drinks. I was pleased to see various choices of non dairy milk available. A nice little place to stop for a drink and snack.

We have previously visited another branch of this cafe and were very pleased that there was one in the retail outlet we stopped at. We treated ourselves to muffins - lemon and white chocolate and a blackberry and custard one. both were delicious, coupled with friendly staff and a clean cafe. Lovely

We called in today for lunch as we had been there some years ago. Didn't stay though because the sandwich fillings are now restricted to such a small range (mostly involving strong cheese) that there was nothing I could eat. It's a pity because it used to be cafe serving decent British food. Why is it that so many dumb down these days?

Staff are very helpful and pleasant.... Food is exceptional quality - served hot if needed and cold if required. Soup is a real treat on a cold day but the muffins are amazing :)

Muffins are good, staff are generally friendly and the drinks are decent all at a sensible price in comparison to competitors.

Called in for a lite bite, the service was good, well staffed with tables cleared and cleaned quickly, it was very busy but did not impede anything. The coffee was excellent, we both had soup which was hot and tasty, I Had a bacon bun with mine which was a bit of a let down. The bacon what there was of it and that was not much was fatty and pretty awful. Maybe I got a bad example!.Prices not bad, the bun did not put me off as we went back later in the day the food we had was fine nothing wrong at all. Muffins looked really popular with customers so the wife tried one said it was great.

We arrived at Dalton Park, at about half ten, unfortunately most shops on a Sunday don't open until 11.00 am, I don't know why but Dalton Park shopping centre has to be the coldest place on the North East coast, even in summer. So a coffee was a must on a cold January, Sunday. I have noticed BB whenever we have been at Dalton Park, but never tried it, so we thought we would give it a go.The coffee shop was warm and inviting, with plenty of seating. I ordered an americano and a spiced apple muffin.The muffin, was covered in a spicy crumble, and tasted amazing. It was considerably larger than muffins at the high street chain coffee shops, I would definitely recommend it. The americano was rich and smooth, definitely not bitter.Service was bright and cheerful from the staff.So if your are freezing in Dalton Park, give it a go.

Always loved this little coffee shop but love it even more after my Banoffi Muffin.They make them fresh on the premises and the hardest bit is choosing which one to have as they do so many flavours.They also do some sandwiches which is like Costa they are premade and you can have it toasted. My friend had a rather large sausage roll.In my opinion it nicest cafe at Dalton Park

After a bad experience here. Few years ago

I say BB,s is way ahead because all sandwiches show the breakdown of fats sugars etc which for a diabetic is important my husband has to watch what he eats so to find sandwiches clearly labelled is brilliant. The cafe is big and the seating comfortable especially with the big cushions against the wall. Nice coffee and cakes (I can have cake) the coconut and raspberry cake was lovely. The staff are polite and friendly. This is a really nice cafe well worth a stop if your in Dalton Park.

A great place to stop between shopping. Great coffee, good food, all at a reasonable price - and friendly staff. In my opinion this is the best coffee stop at Dalton Park.

Always call in for a quick bite to eat and usually have soup or toasties - all excellent! This time we had coffee and muffins - what have we been missing out on.... oreo and sticky toffee were our choice and both were fab.

Whenever I pop into dalton park I always make a stop here after a friend recccomended it. The food and drink is good value and tasty. The muffins are moist and full of flavour and the toasters are well filled.

I wouldn't live in the cafe but for a break and a coffee or equivalent not a bad stop at all - well worth getting out of the weather.

Drinks are always hot, lots of offers and the muffins are made fresh daily which is always a delight, other snacks and ice cream offered, some of the savoury snacks are a bit expensive but not to bad

It can be a bit pricey on some things, but service is excellent n the food n drinks are fab !! I will continue to be a regular customer here.

Mientras que las tiendas que visitamos para té y magdalenas. Era precioso, estaba en una oferta así que ahorramos dinero. Tuve la frambuesa magdalena y mi marido tenía estuvó el apple y muffin de canela. Fue un Dulce sabroso y disfrutamos muchísimo.

No sólo porque de la tarjeta de fidelización, pero eso ayuda. Las magdalenas son para morirse. Siempre hay una opción diferente, algo nuevo cada vez. El personal es amable y el lugar está limpio y ordenado

We called in for a cuppa to get out of the cold, my friend ordered a muffin and I got something else, tried to interact with lady servingBut was quite curt arrogant and they were more interested in chatting to each other which I find so rude!Tea was nice and our sweet treat but service leaves a lot to be desired

Great for coffee and a muffin or sandwich. Visited numerous times and coffee always good, panninis cooked to,order and lovely large sausage rolls. Staff so friendly and everything very clean.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat and a cup of tea. Always clean with very nice friendly staff. A great place to go which plenty of selection whether you are after lunch or just a sweet snack. My kids each picked a small muffin each with jelly babies on top and they went down a treat. I opted for a prawn mayonnaise and rocket sandwich and a raspberry and lemon muffin with a cup of tea to wash it down. All very nice and tasty. Cool quirky decor with a nice warm feel to it inside. The only issue I had was with having a pushchair with me as well it was a struggle to get around with some tables too close each other, which they also seemed to be randomly placed without thinking how people might get around them or how you might even sit down in them.

Called in for a snack. Staff are friendly, toasties are fresh and muffins are delicious. Decor pleasant with a mixture of tables and comfortable sofas/chairs. My only criticism is that serving food on chipped plates makes the whole experience disappointing and attention to detail is important when serving food to customers that are paying for a service.

We always call here for coffee and muffins when we visit Dalton Park. Fabulous range of muffins and sandwiches, something to suit all tastes. Also a loyalty card scheme so a free coffee doesn't hurt now and again. Well worth a visit and the staff are really friendly

BB's Coffee and Muffins is a lovely, friendly place to get a coffee and a freshly baked muffin as well as paninis and jacket potatoes. BB's is generally overpriced and a panini, muffin and coffee costs about £8

Lovely muffins and fantastic got chocolate and not badly priced either. Has a great atmosphere with lovely sofas. The best cafe at Dalton Park.

Visited here with my daughter and baby grandson.Asked if we could give him his bottle before we had our coffee and the blonde lady with ponytail was so lovely.The staff are always very pleasant making this our favourite coffee shop in Dalton Park.We had a mint aero muffin and large latte and decaf cappuccino.All delicious.have tried coconut and cherry muffin sticky toffee and apple crumble ones.Also gluten free ones tasty.The staff though make this place so friendly and nice this is the kind of service that makes you want to go back again and again!!!

When visiting Dalton Park we always visit BB's. The coffee is great, the muffins and panninis are good value for money - and the staff are very attentive and give service with a smile. A great coffee stop.

Very reasonably priced, always friendly,clean and welcoming. The muffins are fabulous and fresh. The sandwiches are good value and the ice cream is delicious. If your in dalton park this place is way better than the Thornton cafe or anywhere else! ! A real gem!!!

The muffins served here are the best I've tasted. They are also massive. One my visit today cafe was very clean with no dirty cups on tables. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We had 2 coffees,2 muffins and a baguette sandwich for under£10. Will defiantly call again.

A visit to Dalton Park is not complete without coffee and muffins at BBS. Sadly the decor and seating leaves a lot to be desired but the muffins.... Mmmmm. I went with my 89 year old mam and we had the blueberry muffin. It was gorgeous, so yummy. We enjoyed it so much we took 2 more home along with a triple chocolate and toffee and chocolate. We had a latte which was hot, and compared to some that we've had in other places, was a real bonus. Staff were very friendly and all in all it was worth a visit. The cost of the muffins to take home were fairly reasonable. A definite visit next time just for the muffins

This is the third time we have been here and every time the food has been great the selection of sandwiches and muffins get better every time.The sandwiches are very full so we share one with a scone or a muffin and a pot of tea.The staff are very friendly and are always chatty and the inside is always very clean and tidy.

We popped into BB's Coffee and Muffins whilst in Dalton park to relax and enjoy a sandwich and a drink. Neither did we relax nor enjoy our sandwich! - It took ages to get served because the electronic till kept disconnecting itself and the staff and to 'fiddle' with the connection to get it back. - I had to remind them what my order was several times!- The panini's took an absolute age to arrive and looked like they'd been run over by a truck- The 'side salad' was a few pieces of chopped up lettuce - MOST IMPORTANTLY THE PANINI'S INCLUDED JALAPEÑOS WHICH CAUSED ME TO HAVE SEVERE STOMACH PAINS BECAUSE I HAVE IBS- The panini's and baguettes are over priced which is ironic given that this is supposed to be a discount outlet shopping centreMy recommendations to this cafe are:-1. Please provide a clear description of what is in your sandwich. You're customers do not like surprises and you may end up causing a LOT of pain to anyone with IBS or an allergy2. Please serve 'real' side salads, a few pieces of chopped up lettuce doesn't count3. Please ensure that you have more than one electronic till or a viable back-up Suffice to say, we will NEVER return here again. We'd recommend going to one of the most wel known chain restaurants on the site, at least then you'll know what you're getting.

Visited with some friends and family whilst doing some shopping. Have been here a few times and have never been disappointed. The drinks were hot and tasty, The atmosphere was good and the service was quick and efficient. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Often call in here whilst shopping at Dalton Park. We have never been disappointed yet. The coffee is always first class, the paninis and the muffins are fresh and tasty, and the service is excellent.

A decent coffee house with plenty of seating.Good coffee, helpful staff. Not a muffin man, but what they had looked very good. There are a number of chain coffee houses - but this one is worth a visit.
