We sent back two plate fulls of poppadoms because they were burnt and chewy.... We didn't stay for any other food.... So disappointed... couldn't even get poppadoms right!! The decor was very tired and not tidy. Definitely can not recommend.

Seriously avoid, worst curry I have ever had, have phoned them twice for refund, got no where, this place used to be good that's the third awfull curry from them, I can do better myself

Tried for 25 mintues to place a large order as we had family over, 6 of us in total and I had said how nice this curry house was, but having and failed to get through, I have up. Sorry bayleaf but you lost an large order. Went somewhere else and spent close to £100.

Myself and the fella needed to get out so popped in bayleaf, rang ahead and they assured us we would have a table, even though this was at 9.30pm. Very friendly owner. Lovely hot chilli garlic curry, mushroom rice and a brilliant garlic nan... Yes we both smell of garlic 😉. Couldnt fault it. Thanks so much Will return

disgusting food bought January evening take away 6.30 pm on 25th January taken by Boss 2 x 48b Tikka Masala 1x egg rice . food dreadful 6 skewered small chicken peaces in enormous red sauce tasted like Korma only less appetizing

We arrived after a long drive and started with poppadums and a huge bowl of dips. I had the tikka roll for starters and mhy wife had a mushroom bhaji. For mains I had the chicken chilli massala Phal hot - spicy and tasty but you coudl taste the chilli powder - and my wife had an amazing vegan dhansak, which was spicy, tasty and even tasted great cold th enext morning, along with tarka dhal and dag bhaji. All hot and tasty, excellent service, very nice restuarant. Great start to our weekend.

We have had a number of meals as takeaways over the last month. The tastes and the presentation of the food is excellent. value for money seems very reasonable the only reason for not giving 5 stars is that on occasion the order hasnt been complete - in fairness a quick phone call and this has been rectified and even on one occasion when we had messed up the order they gave complementarily what we thought we had ordered so use them definitely for tasty food but maybe check the order when it arrives before their friendly delivery driver has left!

Phoned for a takeaway, turned up and it was ready on time, the staff where very polite, but on returning home I Found to be missing food items, very disappointed, I rang them up straight away which they said I could come back or have the food items in my next order, attention to detail makes happy customers.

Great food although I ordered lamb and my chicken came instead but tasty nonetheless!

Delivery was in less than 30 mins from when I paid they hadn’t confirmed the order even. Sad there was no salad with prawn puri and no yoghurt and mint sauce but rest lovely

Ordered the garlic chilli chicken and tikka masala and both really good! Pilau rice was tasty and all the food arrived hot. Poppadoms were stale and disappointing and would be nice if they included some dips on the side. Overall good food and would order again.

Amazing food this eveing. Lamb Sagg was beautiful, so much meat and so tender and tasty. Food was lovely and hot and was delivered early with a friendly delivery man. Yum yum... will definatly order from here again. Thank you.

Said a 7pm delivery time which was 45 mins after I ordered, quite long but understandable for a Friday evening. The food didn’t arrive until gone 7:30pm, was bang average and only like warm (obviously due to being so late).

Chicken too dry, things on menu unavailable

Amazing, we love the Nepali currys - and it was delivered within 20 minutes, you guys are our only Indian!

We, are family booked a table at the last minute as my stepdaughter and her husband were over here to get married, last weekend. The meal was to catch up on different things as they live abroad. We had a superb meal, couldn't fault it at all, the staff were fantastic too. Will go back again.

We ordered our food to be collected and arrived about ten minutes after collection time for only our food not to be ready. My partner waited about ten minutes before someone even acknowledged his existence and then proceeded to tell him the food wasn’t ready and the place was a mess! After waiting for even longer, we took our food home and it wasn’t even tasteful, completely different to how it has used to been. After reading the reviews, we’ve seen the manager has changed! I wouldn’t agree more in NOT going there!

Used this restaurant for years. Used to supply all their meat requirements many years ago and got to know Amir, the manager very well and became good friends. I've arranged works meals out and have had many meals in the restaurant, and ordered some fantastic takeaway food. However, since Amir has left this place has gone downhill fast. I ordered a takeaway meal of two tandoori starters, two Birianis and naan breads. Arrived to collwctvyhe takeaway at the time requested by the staff and still had to wait a while which was fine. When I got the food home, no.more than 5 minutes the starters were fine, but the birianis were overcooked and tasteless, swimming in oil, and the bank breads were cold and tasted stale as if they had just been reheated. The whole lot went in the bin, worst takeaway meal i've ever had. I didn't complain, there seemed to.be little point but I won't eat there or order a takeawy from them again, or recommend the restaurant as I have done for the last 20 years

Great food, best naan breads ever and very extensive menu. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We were not rushed at all. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would definitely go again.

meat was chewy and poppadoms were left out of the order. restaurant gave very good customer service. the poppadoms were delivered immediately and spoke to the restaurant manager who was very friendly and fair. great customer service.

Fancied something different tonight .so went found an old menu made an order for 6 .mt son inlaws drove to the Bayleaf .went in ,all clean ,lovely decorated. People having meals .made our order .sat in the waiting area ,offered drinks & nibbles while we waited.food did not take long .Abdul the owner was great as was his staff .got food home still hot ,lots of it and very tasty indeed.we had chicken korma with rice , mixed Biryani ,prawns ,chicken and lamb which was not on the menu but was no problem for them ,peshwari nan bread , pakoras etc .everything cooked to perfection .they also do delivery and have a great restaurant, which the family will be trying next.i fully recommend you give them a try .

I had several takeaways from this restaurant recently and was advised that the kasmiri dish,vegetable was indeed vegetarian. However the most recent I had had a piece of chicken inamoungst the vegetables - devastating to a life long vegetarian. Would NEVER eat here again! They appolagised and promised refund to my card, on my request. As yet refund not received! Appalling!

Visited with friends on a Saturday night. We were the only diners??! Food mixed from OK to poor. Bhajis and Naan very good, chicken very poor as well over-cooked. Spiced flavours pretty lame to average. Service mixed. Underwhelming. They need a rethink.

I went this restaurant for a takeaway, it was awful. We had a chicken dish with rice.The chicken was so overcooked it was tough and bone dry.They gave us a free side dish of which look unpalatable. My wife cut open the hard boiled egg only to see that it was black inside.That went in the bin.I/we will never set foot in there ever again.

Visited here based on the good reviews, what a mistake. I was given red wine in a glittery covered glass which I thought was unusual, then I realised they'd done it in an attempt to cover up the fact that the wine had turned brown as it was past it and it didn't taste any better than it looked.

Visited this restaurant as part of our 'monthly curry night' Was a little skeptical as it was a Saturday evening and its very quiet with plenty of empty tables. But we were all wrong! Really tasty food, cooked very well and came with a great service too. As it was quiet the food came quickly and cooked to perfection. Poppadoms were served with a large array of sauces and salads, much more than in other restaurants we have visited. Starters, again were really tasty as was the mains.

This place has good quick service. Serves authentic Indian food and is reasonably priced. We had prawn dishes and they were really good so I would say it is well worth a visit.

Good tasty indian food, had a takeaway from here a couple of times now and have always gone for my favourite dish when i try a new place, chicken Jelfraize, so i can compare to others and i can say i would recommend this place.

Took my 22 year old son and 14 year old daughter here for a treat and a change.

Came here with a friend and I must say the food was spot on. You could tell that it was cooked with fresh ingredients. I asked for a spicy curry and was recommended the Vindaloo. Which was nice and hot but still had a great flavour and texture! The garlic naan bread that accompanied it was really nice and garlicky but perhaps a little too buttery? But nothing to complain about!

We booked a meal for our family last weekend and were really let down by a couple of things.

It was late because road closures so wasn’t there fault but they made sure my food got to me & was very polite on the phone. I will definitely go back not just because the food was great!

My wife and I have visited the new premises (old Natraj) twice in the past few weeks & the last time with two friends. We all chose the Banquet option on a Wednesday which is great value at £10-95 per head. The food was beautifully prepared and full of lovely spicy flavours. Despite ordering a lot of food, the whole table was cleared by all of us. Service nice and food arrived very quickly. Nice chat with the owner, Abdul, too.

Best Indian food in Taunton. So well cooked and full of flavours. Staff are friendly and attentive. Take away from here is just as excellent as eating in.

Super relajado y un pollo pathia cobras como ningún otro! ! De lejos, el mejor curry house en taunton! ! Tan buena que nos llena todo lo que habíamos dejado para una fiesta 3:00 am en nuestro hotel! ! No puedo esperar a volver! ! Excelente servicio con conocimiento y una sonrisa! ! hi all ,just found out the Bayleaf Indian Restaurant has moved to a new location in Taunton ,so had to go see whats what .its a few mins walk from its old location an older building with much character .inside was much cosier & warmer decoration & atmosphere and the food as always fantastic .the staff polite with great service .the lamb chop starter was very tasty as was the mix biryani and veg curry & pesh wari nan .please readers if you get the chance go and try it .a great place to have a meal .

Food is always good from here. One of the only places that does a good tarka dal and dansak 👍 we wouldn't go anywhere else

Me and my girlfriend went to this restaurant for a drink and some dinner as the place looked nice and seemed pretty relaxed.The staff were lovely and very friendly.But the behaviour of the owner on the other hand towards staff was absolutely abhorrent and detestable. He made a comment at one point about one of his staff members not "obeying very loud and very rude which shows a total lack of respect for his staff. Furthermore at another point he also questioned the boy about order which clearly made the boy feel as though he had to defend himself. It makes one think, if this is his behaviour toward them in front of strangers, how does he treat them when no one is around? Thus, purely based on the behaviour of the owner, and very funny things was owner dressed up he wear body builders short t-shirt looks like he comes to the restaurant for fighting with staff,I have rated very poorly and will not go back to this Restaurent I have also told others to not go there. The owner needs to check himself and show some respect and this Restaurent staff should be complain to the police.

I ordered a lamb biryani, the meat was very chewy and inedible. There wasn't a whole lot of flavour, I found it quite bland to be honest. The naan bread was soggy, and far too much garlic. I won't be ordering again as there is far better out there.

Just keep going back my favourite indian restaurant of all , had home free delivery tonight .from phone call to delivery 36 mins ,that brilliant. Delivery driver smartly dressed and very polite, credit to the restaurant. The food .. 2 chicken kormas ,boiled rice .mixed biriani of prawns ,lamb and chicken. Not on the menu but i asked if it could be done .. yes was the answer .no quibbles or moans just a simple yes.with veg curry poppadoms and dipping sauce very large portions great value for your money. The food.was a great tasting lovely meal for 2 .thankyou to you all at the Bayleaf restaurant for their consistently brilliant food and excellence of service

We have had two takeaways and two meals here in the last six weeks. Why it is so quiet we cannot understand. We rave to everyone about its standard of service and above all the food . It is tasty cooked to order and for a couple who like Asian food but don't like it too hot... It is perfect as they listen and do what they are asked. Discover it for yourself. Rajib will look after your every need.

Excellent service and quick delivery. Food was very good. Far too much gee in some dishes though which is a shame as I don't see why it has to be so oily? The meat was excellent and the lamb very tender. Good naan and side dishes. I will order again and hope they cut back on oil.

Just had a takeaway from Bayleaf. Love curries and heard good things about this place. The service was friendly and the food was amazing. Both of us were full to the brim but had to keep eating. Will definitely eat here again.

Ordered a chicken biriani which I'd not ordered before and it was delicious! All of the food was hot and very well seasoned. Delivery was really fast-10 minutes before expected time and even got a free bottle of coke. Will order again.
