Bauhinia Restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent

Coming from Hong Kong, I cannot say how wonderful it is to FINALLY find a "proper" Chinese restaurant outside of London! Amazing food, superb service. 100% recommended.

Been a long time since we have been here but the food tonight was excellent, and judging by how busy it was so early we are not the only ones to think so. Will be back soon

Nice food, comfortable seating and big tables so you're not constantly rearranging stuff to fit! Rather noisy which makes conversation challenging at times. Rather small car park, but parking available at next door premises.

Attended for our Anniversary meal mainly a very enjoyable evening with some great entertainment half way through the evening. Food was all very tasty and well presented. We were slightly let down at the end of the meal when it took 35minutes for our pudding of banana fritter to arrive, we actually received our bill before the pudding and was asked if we wanted to pay before we had even had the pudding.

We had a wonderful meal at lunch time on Saturday 10th February . The young girl who served us provided the very highest level of service . Thank you very much .

First time going to Bauhinia.the service was very good lovely people so polite. Food was cooked to perfection, and best of all it was lovely and warm in there, very rare these days. Best place so far.

Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant during a busy evening, and I was truly impressed by the exceptional service.food is delicious and high quality. The staff went above and beyond to assist, even with the high level of activity. Despite a 15minute waiting ， which was understandable given the circumstances, the dedication and efforts of the staff added to the overall enjoyment of the experience. Highly recommend to revisit again .

Never been before but we’ll be back. No one rushed us. We could spend the whole evening chatting with our friends and enjoying the food. Great, busy atmosphere. Every dish was delicious and the staff were lovely. A great way to spend an evening, thank you.

Food is okay but expensive for Stoke and for what we got I dined as part of a 45 person reservation and after being seated at 1930, starters served at 2000, mains weren't served for another 2 hours. I've never had a two hour wait in my entire life between courses, the mains were a set menu so there can't have been any surprise requests. After waiting for so long we requested an extra plate of some dishes, when it didn't arrive after 30 mins we were informed the dish must have gone to another table. Ridiculous, no apology no offer of a replacement Service is abysmal, bookings need to learn to say no if it's going to compromise service delivery - was surprised to see every table was full when we walked in, no space to flip tables There were large parties on other tables who arrived before us and we saw them receive mains even after us no dedicated bar/wait staff looked like everybody was doing everything. Looked very busy but no coordination Some wait staff were obviously well trained and tried to check in with us if we needed anything or how food was but they're ultimately powerless to bring the food out any faster Barbacks stopped cleaning glasses leading to 20-30 min waits for all drinks (even water) and only serving bottles without glasses whilst the entire bar was full with dirty glasses Will be avoiding any business in future and would advise you to seek out other Chinese restaurants in the area who are more likely to give you a good experience

Food was amazing! Service was shocking. After being ignored on the bar on 2 occasions after waiting long time for service. Asked twice for somebody to take our order and we were ignore and dismissed by all staff!

Brought the family in for Christmas Eve dinner. Fantastic experience. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout, and were brilliant with the kids. Food was great, an amazing mix of flavours and textures, and portion sizes were more than generous. Couldn't recommend highly enough. Will be visiting again soon.

This great restaurant serves traditional Mandarin cuisine. It's a comforting place for business travelers who miss the dishes from their hometown.

Food was great, staff lovely, only reason for a 4 star review was asked for a whiskey and it came in a shot glass, fun for everyone else as I had to throw it back. .. but could easily be a five star.

Every time I go on a business trip from Taiwan to the UK, I like to eat Chinese food here the most. Delicious food, warm decoration: and this time there are also delicious cocktails! Delicious and delicious. Highly recommended!

You can have Chinese food at many places but at Bauhinia Restaurant the atmosphere, excellent service and truly delicious food make for a memorable evening out. Very pleased to find that this great dining experience also came at an extremely competitive price.

Adequate parking. Greeted by staff who have been courteous and very polite throughout visit. Food was great. We visited as a family of three and was greeted by the owner who surprisingly can speak Cantonese, we chatted for a while before we left and the owner is very nice and friendly. Will come back!

I recently went to Bauhinia Restaurant and i have to say that their service was absolutely amazing! The staff April, Jensen and Keira were all so friendly, attentive, made sure we had a fantastic dining experience, and were quite humorous. I 100% Highly recommend this restaurant to everybody.

Recently visited Bauhinia Restaurant, was very busy on that particular night with a large party also occurring so the service was a bit slow to start with but it picked up as more staff arrived (we booked a table at their opening time) and everyone was very friendly taking an interest. Food was amazing and very prompt to come out. The kitchen staff was accommodating as they were able to adapt the meal to suit our needs. Lovely decor, atmosphere was great. Will definitely visit again.

Little bit dear but food was good

I think we went on the wrong day!!!! The duck was bought out with the sauce then we had to wait 5minutes until the pancakes and cucumber onion were brought out. The duck was dry and not crispy. They then bought my meal out and my husbands came 5 minutes later. He ordered salt and chilli prawns and the chilli's were not hot at all, the dish was very very bland. We did mention this to the waitress who was very polite but our evening was spoiled at this point. Very Disappointed and unsure if I want to return

Nice and spacious restaurant, food is very good especially compared to some others in the area, quite pricey though but then im probably willing to pay for decent food. Service was great too nice and friendly young lady. Would recommend!

Nice and friendly staff, and the food is amazing.

Great experience, the atmosphere was really nice and peaceful. The food tasted good, and the service was also good. When someone new didn't know something, the more experienced staff came out to help answer anything and didn't leave them fumbling which is great of them. Very happy experience. I went out of my way to tip as this is the best place I've been in Stoke so far.

Just been to Bauhenia Chinese Restaurant and had such a lovely meal, again. The staff are always so friendly, especially Sophia, and there is so much choice, and I have never had one bad meal. Would totally recommend this restaurant for quality of food, customer service and value for money!

And all for under £10 each and the drinks were Very Reasonably priced too... A lovely open, sunny and bright restaurant...spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated... Really Well worth a lunch out... Go on...treat yourselves! We had just been to the Hospital with an appointment for my husband...and it was a FAB TREAT!... We have eaten here many times over the past few years but we have seen a gentle decline since the latest owners took over. We took 2 friends for a meal Sunday evening, the food was just ok not great but the service wasnt good they had 4 staff on and not busy but they got the starters wrong, (manager took order)no apology given, the mains were ok but the chow main was a tiny portion. Each time we wanted a drink we had to get a waiters attention, we had to wait ages for the table to be cleared and we weren't offered sweets or coffee we had to again get their attention. I doubt we will go again it's over priced for the service and the food is far from the best

Warmest of welcomes, lovely decor and ambiance. Need to double check the gluten free options for not all are MSG free. Overall a very positive experience.

First visit last night after always living within walking distance but never going. Why did I wait so long? It was a fantastic experience, the food was delicious, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. We had 2 courses and then a cocktail to finish and didn't feel rushed at any point. We felt comfortable and chilled out. Very large menu to choose from,not overly expensive. Wide selection of drinks. I'd recommend the Fire Breathing Dragon cocktail, it was so fruity and tasty. We'll definitely be visiting again.

Excellent restaurant. It's been here for decades and you can see why it's still so popular. Fabulous food at a good price. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys Chinese food.

Ok .. just to say Tracey the owner makes so much effort to make your experience welcome. If I go to a Chinese I want the staff to speak Chinese and not try too hard to speak English and not apologise because they can’t .. Well done to Tracey and her family. The staff are so helpful and knowledgeable. I ordered an Italian red which was corked .. without me mentioning it they changed the bottle. The food was incredible,seeing that I go to so many Chinese restaurants. I think the family that own this restaurant make all the difference.. see you soon.

Excellent dining environment experience. Fantastic crispy pork fillet and chicken satay. We highly recommend every one to try “The salty pepper French Fries”! Best ever. Organic and Fresh with a little bit spicy taste. I don’t even had chance to take a picture and it’s gone. Wonderful night. Thanks for the polite service.

Visited for Valentine’s Day and it didn’t disappoint. It’s very easy accessible, nice atmosphere, big seating area, and lovely staff. Probably one of the best service I experienced in a Chinese restaurant. Food was outstanding too, came out fast, good range of drinks and decent prices, will definitely come back. Appalling service, basically got shouted at for wanting to change items on the set menus and have WHAT I WANT! We went 4week prior and changing items was not a problem! At the end of the day I should be allowed to have what I want, I’m paying for your service which was shocking! Even if it occurred an extra cost not a problem. Resulting in us walking out and we will not go back!

When I. Went they literally scammed my family and the bill was over 300 pound and we barely ordered .

Absolutely fantastic. We went for our wirks Christmas meal. The food is absolutely amazing.

Totally disorganised even though every meal was pre-ordered. Prewarmed nut allergy was not taken into consideration. People had mains when people were still waiting for starters. Every started which was the same on the menu was different on the plate and the main courses were small than side order you would get elsewhere...... the first and last time myself and 20 others will ever attend
