Basilico - Kingston/Surbiton in Kingston upon Thames

Parece que Basilico ha tenido momentos bastante difíciles en los últimos tiempos según las revisiones, por lo que quería agregar mi experiencia para la sucursal de Surbiton. No hay forma de evitar el hecho de que estas pizzas son caras. La mayoría de los lugares ofrecen pizza por la mitad o incluso la cuarta parte del precio. Sin embargo, debes recordar que estos lugares están tomando algo impregnado de tradición, arte y habilidad, y lo están convirtiendo en una experiencia insulsa, aburrida y francamente básica para los paladares británicos. Si califica a Dominos y a los horribles Papa Johns, entonces debe atenerse a ellos. Siempre es un poco lagrimeo cuando se calcula el precio de estos. . 40 por 2 pizzas? mental. Pero es MUY mucho mejor que en cualquier otro lugar después de comerlo, siempre sé que es la decisión correcta. Bases finas, masa de calidad, buena base de salsa de tomate, coberturas auténticas (¡sobre todo!). La entrega de anoche fue a tiempo, las pizzas estaban calientes, comimos más que llenos, muy bueno. Lo recomiendo de todo corazón. No me he sentado adentro a comer, solo me han entregado pizza, por lo que esta revisión es puramente para llevar / entrega.

Después de pasar más de una hora esperando mi pizza, me entregaron la pizza del tamaño incorrecto, después de volver a llamar me dijeron que no podía pasar nada ya que el gerente no estaba allí. Después de haberle dicho a la persona por teléfono que esto no era aceptable y que había que solucionarlo, me dijeron que me cagara dos veces y llamé a un pinchazo. Pésimo servicio, experiencia y un terrible grupo de humanos dirigiendo este lugar. EVITAR A TODA COSTA

No es una gran experiencia aquí. El 'chef' tiene una cosa que hacer, que es cocinar pizza durante el tiempo correcto, pero parece que es mucho pedir. El salami sabía a juego y un poco asqueroso.

Por recomendación, pedimos unas pizzas para una pequeña reunión que tuvimos. Tardó más de 1 hora y 20 minutos en llegar (sin disculpas y los llamé) pero la calidad era mala, no estaban bien cocinados y no tenían una gran cantidad de ingredientes en la cobertura. Definitivamente no vale la pena el dinero.

Las pizzas aquí solían ser buenas. Caro, pero vale la pena el extra. Desafortunadamente, esto parece no ser más el caso. Súper masticable, de ninguna manera un cortador de pizza podría atravesar la base, recocido (pero frío), y en cuanto a la 'pizza de pan de ajo'! Lo peor que he tenido. Espero que vuelvan a encarrilarse con las cosas. A juzgar por las otras revisiones, la incoherencia parece ser un problema, por lo que quizás hoy haya sido un mal día.

Not a good pizza. They hadn't even cut it into pieces so we had to awkwardly cut it up with a knife. Pizza base seemed dry and hard, and limited quantity of toppings on top. Won't buy from here again.

I really, really want to love Basilico (as I vastly prefer wood-fired pizza), but the inconsistency in what they produce is astounding. At least 1/3 to 1/2 of the pizzas I get are not what I ordered (wrong toppings!) or have wildly different volumes of toppings and cheese. I finally wrote in to query the lack of consistency in their product (I order the some thing every time, so it's not difficult to benchmark) and never heard back. I ordered a pizza this week to use up my points and the delivery driver handed me a coke I hadn't ordered and said it was, "from the manager" - no other explanation. I opened the pizza box and saw that the pizza was quite misshapen with a large hole in it. On top of that, they'd mistakenly used caramelised red onion rather than the chorizo I'd ordered - quite a significant difference in flavour. They'd obviously decided to give me the coke to make up for the fact that they'd completely screwed up my order. I won't be ordering from them again - while I understand that mistakes happen, I've come to the limit of how many I can tolerate before accepting that there is something fundamentally wrong in how they are operating their business. PS. I worked at a fresh pizza place when I was at uni and know that it's not that hard to get it right!

Awful. Undercooked and cold. Re sent and even worse, chewy, couldn’t Even get a pizza cutter through it. Shame as probably the best pizza I had ever eaten a few months ago. New people running it and sorry to say no way you can charge £37 for 2 pizzas and then serve that. Frozen pizza from Iceland better which is what my husband is now eating. Also beware of paying by PayPal. Apparently that means you are contracting with head office and have to take the time to call them personally (no number provided) to ask for your refund. It’s not the remit of the manager to process it or call head office on the customers behalf.

Ordered 3 pizza from basillico arrived on time and all to an amazing standard and piping hot. Would definitely recommend and will be using again for sure Thanks

We ordered a pizza to be delivered and I gave Basilico my mobile number so they could contact me in case of any problem. The pizza was ok, lukewarm, nothing special, but then about a week later I started getting txt messages with special offers even though I never agreed to that. I can't stop them, the opt out number doesn't work.

If your looking to have a quiet night in on your own or with a loved one then this is the delivery company for you. Basilico Wood Fired pizzas are the best. Original thin crust with beautiful sourced ingredients for toppings. The menu is to die for, what else can I say? You will not find dips on the menu as they are not needed.

last night ordered 2 large pizza through hungry house it didn't go through and called up the shop, a very polite and professional staff answered and apologised and a got a lovely free garlic bread also.

Ordered two pizzas and both arrived beyond overcooked. Gave them the opportunity to resolve and two hours after our initial order the delivery driver arrived with a replacement for just one of the pizzas which was overcooked still didn't remotely resemble anything on the menu. Apparently they were busy with only one driver and chef were working hence the problems. Feedback to head office who apparently respond within 24 hours. Still waiting a week later. Awful food and awful customer service.

I reviewed in early December, received management feedback in late January, so thought it appropriate to try again in February . I was pleased to find an improved pizza - carefully prepared and properly cooked. Well done Basilico Surbiton. Still need to complete a deep clean after an oven burn out. Smoke grime in corners and on roof panels. Yours is a premium price, so such care is needed to justify the extra expense. But, credit where it is due, the pizza was all you could ask of it.

Had a pizza from Basilico last night. Awful! Base was good but the toppings not cooked at all - raw cheese, onions and peppers. Could not eat it, it was so bad and hopefully won't be ill. Definitely avoid!

I have used Basilico since it the brand arrived in Surbiton. It was outstanding. By far the best in the area and worth the premium price. Had not used for a while, but I have visited twice in the last few weeks. Things have changed....

My friend is coeliac and was very happy when this place advertised gluten free pizza, however the experience was far from pleasant. Pizza base taken out of the freezer and put directly into the oven with the toppings (4 cheeses) taken from a plastic bag....

Basilico is on the expensive side but the pizzas are excellent, wood fired, fresh toppings. Speedy delivery, would recommend as a treat or a regular event.
